  2. Mace alleges ******* abuse, ***** in stunning House floor speech Mace alleges ******* abuse, ***** in stunning House floor speech Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) made a series of allegations of ******* abuse, ***** and voyeurism perpetrated against herself and other women by a group of four men in a personal — and highly unusual — speech on the House floor Monday evening. Mace, who has served in the House since 2021, spoke for nearly an hour in the lower chamber, accusing four South Carolina men of being “predators” and displaying their names and photos on a poster board on the House floor. “You have bought yourself a one-way ticket to hell. It is nonstop, there are no connections, so I and all your victims can watch you rot in eternity,” Mace said on the House floor, in a speech that she said she titled “Iron Sharpens Iron.” She made a number of specific allegations, like finding thousands of intimate photos and videos of women and underage girls that were captured without their consent. Mace also said she was ****** herself after blacking out one night, and believes she was “purposefully incapacitated.” Mace pulled out props throughout the remarks, including handcuffs — “if anyone would like to arrest me for standing up for women, here are my wrists” — a glass to show the size of the two drinks she had the night she says she blacked out, and a camera she said was hidden at the property owned by two of the alleged assailants. Mace also went into further graphic detail, but The Hill has not independently verified the allegations. While Mace said she has evidence to back up her claims, she has not yet presented it. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) confirmed on Monday that it had opened an investigation into one of the men Mace named in December of 2023, shortly after Mace said she discovered the abuse, after being contacted by U.S. Capitol Police. “Since that date SLED has conducted multiple interviews, served multiple search warrants, and has a well-documented case file that will be available for release upon the conclusion of the case,” the department added. No criminal charges have been filed, and some of the men denied the allegations in statements to The Hill and said they were considering legal action. A provision of the Constitution known as the “speech or debate clause” gives members of Congress broad protection from prosecution for what they say while performing legislative duties. A press release from Mace about the speech referenced that protection, but defended the veracity of her allegations: “Any and all statements made by Members on the House Floor are quintessential ‘legislative acts,’ and protected by the Speech and Debate clause afforded under the Constitution of the United States. Her statements tonight are not conjecture, they are not allegations, they are facts based on information she uncovered and documents she accidentally discovered.” Mace also spent a significant portion of her speech criticizing South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson (R), who she said did not do enough to investigate and prosecute the alleged crimes. Both Mace and Wilson are considering running for governor of South Carolina in 2026. The South Carolina Attorney General’s office issued a statement after Mace’s speech that called her remarks “categorically false,” denying that the entity has received any reports regarding the matters she outlined. “Ms. Mace either does not understand or is purposefully mischaracterizing the role of the Attorney General,” the office wrote. “At this time, our office has not received any reports or requests for assistance from any law enforcement or prosecution agencies regarding these matters. Additionally, the Attorney General and members of his office have had no role and no knowledge of these allegations until her public statements.” “It is clear that Attorney General Alan Wilson has built his career on protecting the most vulnerable in our state; any statement otherwise is blatantly false and politically motivated,” the office added. The speech made for a rather uncommon scene in the House chamber, where remarks are typically made to discuss legislation, honor constituents or comment on current events. She delivered the speech after votes Monday evening, when the chamber was largely empty. Reps. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) and Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) sat behind Mace for the entirety of her remarks, joined by Reps. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) and Victoria Spartz (R-Ind.) and a handful of staffers for parts throughout. Mace also said her mother and survivors of ******* assault were present in the gallery. At one point, Mace placed a red sticker that said “survivor” on her chest, which she said her staff had made. The congresswoman handed stickers to Boebert, Burchett and Luna, who put them on as well. Individuals watching the speech from the gallery also put on the stickers. Mace has made pushing back on ***** and ******* abuse a key part of her political identity, invoking her personal experiences while doing so. Mace has long talked about being ****** as a teenager while advocating for exceptions to anti-abortion legislation. And in the past several months, Mace has been very vocal about advocating against transgender women being allowed in women’s restrooms — taking direct aim at the first openly transgender member of Congress, Rep. Sarah McBride (D-Del.), who was elected last year. In her speech Monday, she included several bills aimed at transgender women in a list of measure she said were aimed at protecting women and girls. 5. Lions watch: Who impressed in Six Nations round two? Lions watch: Who impressed in Six Nations round two? Fin Smith produced an inspired second-half display at Twickenham to turn the tide in England’s favour over France. Smith, on his first Test start, began slowly before creating two late tries. He changed the direction of attack to clip the ball wide for Northampton Saints team-mate Tommy Freeman to gather and score, before timing his pass for Elliot Daly to glide through the French defence in the penultimate minute. Smith’s conversion handed England victory and he was named player of the match to stake his claim for the number 10 jersey. Marcus Smith, who started at fly-half in the opening round defeat by Ireland, had a solid game from full-back but will be targeting a return to his preferred position. It remains to be seen whether Farrell considers Marcus Smith as an option at fly-half or elsewhere but Fin Smith has certainly boosted his chances. In the Scottish capital, Finn Russell was denied the chance to impose himself on Ireland and strengthen his claim to the Lions’ 10 shirt which he wore in South Africa in 2021, after colliding with team-mate Darcy Graham in the first half. His opposite number Sam Prendergast ended the game with the player-of-the-match award after a balanced and controlled display. The 21-year-old, on his fifth cap, fired an excellent long pass for Calvin Nash to score the opening try and kicked 12 points from the tee. Former Scotland captain Johnnie Beattie told BBC Rugby Union Weekly: “He is 21 years old and is only going to get better. “He needs game time to mature and grow in confidence but in terms of raw material, with his kicking game and his ability to take time on the ball and choose the right option, his distribution was excellent.” BBC rugby union correspondent Chris Jones added: “The 10 is a really interesting debate. It is still Finn Russell’s shirt from 2021 because he finished the third Test. “He didn’t get a chance against Ireland to show what he can do but knowing Finn, he will have a blinder against England at Twickenham and cement himself. “But then there is Fin Smith, Sam Prendergast, Jack Crowley and Marcus Smith, whether he goes at 10 or as more of a floating outside back.” Source link #Lions #watch #impressed #Nations Pelican News View the full article at [Hidden Content]

  9. Moon’s Geological Activity: New Evidence Suggests Surface Changes Persist Moon’s Geological Activity: New Evidence Suggests Surface Changes Persist The Moon’s surface continues to undergo changes, as indicated by newly identified wrinkle ridges on its far side. Recent findings suggest that the Moon is still cooling and contracting, resulting in surface deformations that may have implications for future lunar missions. The discovery of 266 wrinkle ridges, all estimated to have formed within the past 160 million years, has raised questions about ongoing geological activity. If the Moon remains geologically dynamic, considerations for astronaut safety and infrastructure placement will become increasingly critical. Evidence of Recent Geological Activity According to a study published in The Planetary Science Journal, images captured by NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter’s Narrow Angle Camera revealed wrinkle ridges on the far side of the Moon. Unlike the more extensive wrinkle ridges on the near side, these newly identified ridges are smaller, measuring approximately 100 meters wide and 1,000 metres long. Their relatively recent formation challenges previous assumptions that lunar tectonic activity largely ceased billions of years ago. Differences Between the Near and Far Side As reported by space.com, unlike the near side, which has vast volcanic plains known as lunar maria covering approximately 31 percent of its surface, the far side has only about 1 percent of its area covered by similar formations. The reason behind this stark difference remains uncertain, but one theory suggests that a collision with a dwarf planet may have altered the Moon’s geological evolution. The impact is believed to have thickened the far side’s crust, making volcanic activity less prevalent. Crater Analysis Supports the Findings The estimated age of these wrinkle ridges was determined through crater counting, a method where the number of craters helps estimate surface age. Scientists concluded that the ridges on the Moon’s far side are between 84 million and 160 million years old. If the Moon’s interior was no longer active, these ridges would likely have formed much earlier, pointing to continued geological movement. Potential Risks Posed by Moonquakes Jaclyn Clark, a planetary scientist at the University of Maryland, said in a statement, released by the university, that the possibility of ongoing lunar tectonic activity raises concerns about moonquakes. Seismometers placed on the Moon by Apollo missions previously detected such quakes, but their cause had remained unclear. The new findings suggest that the Moon’s contraction could be triggering these tremors, potentially posing hazards for future human exploration and infrastructure on the lunar surface. Supporting Evidence from Lunar Samples In 2020, China’s Chang’e 5 mission returned lunar samples containing volcanic glass beads dated to approximately 123 million years ago. The presence of these materials indicates that volcanic activity on the Moon may have persisted much longer than previously assumed, further reinforcing the theory of ongoing geological changes. Implications for Lunar Missions The findings suggest that the Moon’s geological activity may not be entirely dormant, which could impact plans for permanent lunar bases. If certain regions experience significant tectonic movement, astronauts and equipment might need to be stationed in more geologically stable locations. These findings highlight the need for continued observation and assessment before long-term human presence on the Moon becomes a reality. 11. Barca star sure she didn’t violate opponent’s privacy Barca star sure she didn’t violate opponent’s privacy Barcelona player Maria Pilar Leon has firmly denied violating the privacy of Espanyol’s Daniela Caracas during a women’s top flight derby match on the weekend. Video footage appeared to suggest Leon had touched Caracas in the groin area when both were fighting for the ball, and then appeared to say something to her. Espanyol strongly condemned the incident, saying the move of Leon’s hand “violated the privacy” of Caracas in an incident “that we consider unacceptable and that should not be overlooked.” Leon strongly dismissed the allegations in a Barcelona statement on Monday night. “At no time did I, nor was it my intention, infringe upon the intimacy of my fellow professional Daniela Caracas. As the images show, it was part of a playing action in which she deliberately touches me and I touch her leg,” she said. “There is NO contact with her private parts, and certainly no intention. I insist, it was just part of the game that does not warrant the importance that has been attached to it. “The idea of touching the private parts of a colleague would never enter my head, it goes against my principles and I would never do such a thing.” Leon also insisted she had made no abusive remark to Caracas but rather said “What’s up with you.” Espanyol meanwhile said “although Caracas was unable to react at the time due to the impact of the situation, later, after assimilating what had happened, she became aware of the seriousness of the gesture, but chose not to react angrily in order to avoid a disciplinary sanction that would harm the team.” Espanyol also said Colombia’s Caracas has become the target of serious online abuse after the incident. “In addition to what happened on the pitch, there was a regrettable response on social media, where our player has been the target of insults from hundreds of profiles,” the club said. “We are concerned that, instead of focusing on the incident itself, part of the media attention has been diverted to other issues unrelated to the seriousness of the action.” Leon said: “I condemn the harassment that Daniela appears to have been suffering on social networks, which has nothing to do with me, and I offer her my most sincere support.” Source link #Barca #star #didnt #violate #opponents #privacy Pelican News View the full article at [Hidden Content] For verified travel tips and real support, visit: [Hidden Content]
  12. Early model shows significant snow in Southeast Michigan Early model shows significant snow in Southeast Michigan The Brief Between 3 and 6 inches of snow is expected starting on Wednesday. More snow is possible on Saturday. Metro Detroit’s snow totals are almost half of the seasonal average. DETROIT (FOX 2) – With another five weeks before spring starts, Metro Detroit is bundled up and locked into winter. And this week, we’re expecting some big snowfalls across Southeast Michigan. The start of the week is typical for February: cold, sunny at times, cloudy, etc. You get it. But that’s all about to change. Wednesday, you’re going to want to make sure the snowblowers are ready. You’ll want to identify where that extra shovel is and the backup supply of ice after you get it all cleared. Stay ahead of the weather with the FOX 2 Weather app. It’s free on your phone and provides live radar, alerts, and more. What to expect The snow will start pretty calm in Michigan around 2 p.m. on Wednesday – but it’s going to pick up, making the drive home from work and school on Wednesday a slippery mess. The snow is going to continue to fall throughout the afternoon, night, and Thursday morning. By the time it’s all said and done, we could be looking at our highest snowfalls of the season for some of us. The roads will be a mess that morning as you head to work and school, assuming there is school. If we get a lot of snow, expect a growing list of school closings. How much snow in Metro Detroit? One model is showing up to a foot of snow could fall in Lansing and Lapeer. But in reality, we’re still too far away to know for sure. That same model shows a little more than two inches of snow in Detroit, almost 6 inches in Pontiac, and just an inch in Monroe. In other words, the heaviest bands are north and west of Detroit. But all of that could change. The heavy snow could slide in a different direction. There’s a band of freezing rain that could slide into Detroit. If it slides farther north, the lower the snow totals will be. But if it stays south of Michigan, we’re looking at a decent snowmaker. So, as of Monday at 11:30 a.m., more than 48 hours before the snow arrives, we’re expecting at least 2 inches of snow and at most 10 inches. But the most likely result is between 3 and 6 inches of snow. Where is the storm right now? If you’re looking to see what others are seeing with this system, you’re out of luck. The storm isn’t even dropping snow anywhere in the U.S. The elements that are bringing the snow to Metro Detroit are still coming together over the Pacific Ocean. The snow storm will be coming up from the southwest as it tracks over the Great Lakes. How much snow has Detroit seen this season? Typically, by Feb. 10, we’ll have close to 30 inches of snow for the season. But this year, we’ve had just 16.2 inches of snow. Even if we were to get a decent amount, we still wouldn’t catch up to where we normally are for this time of year. Here’s why that’s tricky: those official measurements are all taken at Detroit Metro airport, meaning if the airport gets lower snow totals, the yearly average could be different from what you’re seeing at your own home. But don’t fret – another snow system is moving in on Saturday, which could bring a decent amount as well. We won’t go to deep into that one, yet. We’ll stay focused on Wednesday and then update on Saturday’s possible snow as we get closer. The Source FOX 2 Meteorologists Derek Kevra and Alan Longstreet. 15. Mom Loses Lawsuit Against School District Which Banned Her from Volunteering After Learning She Works on OnlyFans Mom Loses Lawsuit Against School District Which Banned Her from Volunteering After Learning She Works on OnlyFans A Florida court ruled against a mother who sued her local school district, which she alleged banned her from volunteering at her son’s school after administrators learned she had an OnlyFans account. In 2023, Victoria Triece sued Orange County Public Schools (OCPS) for $1 million after the district allegedly told her two years prior that she could no longer volunteer at Sand Lake Elementary School in Orlando, where her children, then ages 5 and 10, were students. As PEOPLE previously reported, the ban came after a parent sent an anonymous email to the principal about Triece’s account on the adult website, along with two NSFW pictures of the mother of two. “It has come to several parents at Sand Lake Elementary that one of the room mothers that spends time at the school is publically (sic) posting ************ thru various sources on the internet,” the email read, WFTV reported. “This woman is constantly around our children and her public profiles are well known. This is not the content or subject matter that our children need to be exposed to.” The images of Triece are accessible only with a paid subscription. Want to keep up with the latest crime coverage? Sign up for PEOPLE‘s free True Crime newsletter for breaking crime news, ongoing trial coverage and details of intriguing unsolved cases. The principal shared the email with her boss, including the images, Triece claimed, arguing that this violated her right to privacy. She also sued the district for allegedly violating her right to free speech and also alleged “******* cyber harassment” for sharing pictures from her account with media outlets. Related: Florida Mom Says She’s Been Banned from Volunteering at Kids’ School Because She’s on OnlyFans Triece said she felt “humiliated,” adding, “Nobody has the right to judge what other people do for a living,” according to WESH. Her attorney, Mark NeJame, contended at a 2023 press conference that what she does “in our off time, it’s not ********,” but she had been subjected to “morality police.” Despite this, on Jan. 29, a Florida judge ruled against her, saying Triece does not have the “right” to volunteer at the school, per court documents reviewed by PEOPLE. The volunteer program’s policy “does not include any language that confers any right or benefit upon an individual to participate in the program, to remain in the program, or to appeal a removal decision,” the judge wrote in his opinion. As for Triece’s claim that the district violated her privacy by sharing the images, the judge said that the images are considered public record and were shared between administrators trying to resolve an issue in the district that had been brought to their attention, the documents state. The district did not commit cyberstalking, either, the judge said. He said the district had to send the pictures to media outlets to satisfy public records requests. NeJame and OCPS did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment. 18. Apple Witnesses Record Growth as India’s Smartphone Shipments Rise 4 Percent YoY in 2024: IDC Report Apple Witnesses Record Growth as India’s Smartphone Shipments Rise 4 Percent YoY in 2024: IDC Report Apple witnessed a record number of unit shipments in India in 2024, according to a report by a market research firm. Overall, smartphone shipments in India grew four percent year-over-year (YoY) in 2024, reaching a total of 151 million units. The growth was reportedly a result of a strong first-half performance with a seven percent growth, which compensated for a slower two percent growth in the second half. The report also stated that shipments to offline and online channels respectively grew by four percent YoY, at par with the overall growth. 19. US coal exports to India expected to rise due to China tariffs US coal exports to India expected to rise due to China tariffs By Sethuraman N R and Sudarshan Varadhan NEW DELHI (Reuters) – The United States is expected to boost coal exports to India after China imposed tariffs on energy imports from the U.S., five industry officials said, potentially eroding Australia and Russia’s market shares in the Indian market. China’s Finance Ministry last week said it would impose levies of 15% on imports of U.S. coal, which the officials said could push U.S. miners to ship to India – the world’s second-largest coal importer behind China. “Three U.S. cargoes that were supposed to go to China have landed in India and around 10 more cargoes are waiting. These are huge capesizes and that could further drag down prices,” Vasudev Pamnani, director at India’s I-Energy Natural Resources, said. “More U.S. coal imports could have an impact on Australia,” Pamnani told the Coaltrans India conference on Monday. In volume terms, the U.S. accounts for a small part of ******** imports of coal, but the value of coking coal shipments – used mainly by steelmakers – rose by nearly a third to $1.84 billion in 2024. Malcolm Roberts, chief marketing officer at the biggest U.S. coal miner Peabody Energy, said on a conference call with analysts last week that more U.S. coal could go to India and more *********** coal to China as a result of the tariffs. Australia was the dominant coking coal supplier to India in the last decade, accounting for about 80% of all such shipments. Its share dwindled to 62% in 2024, as supplies from the United States as well as Russia and Mozambique helped India to diversify. Australia could now regain some share in China – its main market where it made up over two-thirds of coking coal imports before China announced an unofficial ban on such imports in 2021. Mongolia and Russia are currently the biggest exporters of coking coal to China. The U.S. accounted for 9% of the coking coal market in China in 2024, while Australia made up 8% of all such imports, ******** customs data shows. 20. Critics Think Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Show Was Bad but Pokimane Is Not One of Them Critics Think Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Show Was Bad but Pokimane Is Not One of Them Right now the biggest talking point of 2025 might be Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime performance. During Sunday’s thrilling 14-minute halftime concert, Lamar performed a number of his hits with special guests like SZA, Samuel L. Jackson, and Serena Williams, who also made unexpected debuts. Billboard reports that 120 million people have watched this entire sequence. Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime performance is the talk of the two right now. | Credit: YouTube/NFL. However, this performance stirred unreal controversy as Lamar dissed Drake on stage with his Grammy-winning track “Not Like Us.” The world seems to have divided into two parts, where one is shouting with the voice of Lamar and the other part finds this one of the worst Super Bowl halftime performances of all time. And it turns out that popular streamer Pokimane falls in the former category. Pokimane lashes out at the critics of Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime performance Pokimane supports Lamar’s performance. | Credit: YouTube/Pokimane. During the performance, Lamar did not shy away from showcasing the longstanding beef between him and fellow rapper Drake. In fact, he invited Drake’s ex-girlfriend and tennis champion Serena Williams to dance on stage. “Only white people hated it. I didn’t want to say it…” Pokimane reaction to people saying that Kendrick Lamar didn’t deserve to perform at the Super Bowl LIX halftime show pic.twitter.com/fGH57NAUCc — ryan (@scubaryan_) February 10, 2025 Actors, celebrities, and content producers have all offered their thoughts on the spectacle in the wake of it, with Imane “Pokimane” Anys firing barbs towards the people who have been blasting Lamar’s performance for no good reason. “Only white people hated it. I didn’t want to say it,” Poki said in response in one of her streams. She continued: “You know what ******* me off the most respectfully too? The people that I saw with this take the most were white men. Ain’t nothing wrong with being a white man. That’s not the point. My point is that, you know, I feel like if you watched his performance and really took it in, you’d be like ‘There are some underlying messages that the performance is trying to convey, especially during ****** History Month.’” Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime performance was always going to be seen as a victory lap in his feud with Drake, but it felt especially cruel to bring Sony into the mix in an attempt to bring that chapter to a spectacular close. As the lights went down, the stadium’s side was illuminated with the words “Game Over,” and the stage displayed the familiar cross, circle, triangle, and square symbols of PlayStation. Although it’s unclear why the To Pimp a Butterfly artist chose to seemingly channel PlayStation for the end of his year-long battle, music and video game fans have taken to social media to show their appreciation for the jab. Lamar’s already amazing performance might even be better on repeat when you realize that the stage is a major video game reference. xQc hits back at Pokimane for taking a jab at white people xQc didn’t like Pokimane’s words on white people. | Credit: YouTube/xQc. Kick streamer xQc responded to Pokimane’s criticism after seeing a clip of her response online, labeling it “textbook pandering” and a “ridiculous analysis.” xQc explained how music can “interlace messages and symbolism” to support his scathing critique of Poki, arguing that the musician, not the audience, is responsible if they fail to notice those details. This is what xQc stated: You should understand, man; this pandering for the audience is getting old. This is the richest thing you could say. xQc also bashed Pokimane by stating that she wasn’t “mean to understand” the Super Bowl halftime show as this wasn’t some documentary or puzzle to figure out. He also remarked the Moroccan streamer was “f**king braindead” and told her not to blame the people who were watching the show as it wasn’t people’s fault for missing the mark. This isn’t the first time xQc has criticized Pokimane while streaming; the two have exchanged online comments on several occasions, such as when xQc said he received more criticism than her during a dispute or when he talked about gambling while streaming. Naturally, though, the two had previously gotten along well and even co-hosted a brief podcast. 22. “I’m a Student With No Regular Income – My Budget Solo Weekend in Athens Cost €660” “I’m a Student With No Regular Income – My Budget Solo Weekend in Athens Cost €660” By Maia Burton / Telegraph Media Group Holdings Limited 2025 I’m a 21-year-old university student, and my budget reflects that. My maintenance loan (average €3,000 per term) does not cover my rent (€170 per week) but I am fortunate to have support from my family, which I will pay back in the future. I do not have a regular job. During university holidays I work on a casual contract as an exam invigilator, which pays around €13 per hour, and the hours I work vary. During term-time I am sometimes paid to make content for the university, and I spend around eight hours per week working online “side hustles” such as data entry and research-based sites such as Prolific and DataAnnotation to cover weekly expenses and put towards some savings. Before coming to university I took a gap year, where I worked more consistently as an invigilator, and at activity camps run for children in the school holidays. I am lucky to go on family holidays covered by my family and I pay for anything I spend on myself, including any trips I take without my family. I have been on a few weekend breaks outside of term-time with friends – and last summer I went on a summer study abroad programme with the university, which I used some of my loan to pay for. When I travel I like to budget strategically. I am happy to stay in hostels and eat in cheap cafes during the day or eat street food. I guess, for many people, food is usually the most expensive part of the trip. I enjoy spending more money on activities and experiences. I research my trips well and plan them around experiences. I look for what I want to do first and decide where to stay after. This was a solo trip to Athens, the first trip I had ever taken alone. I loved the freedom of choosing what to do and when and how to spend my money. It was not without its challenges, but I had a fantastic time and really valued this experience. The Odeon of Atticus Herodes © Perikles Merakos The Odeon of Atticus Herodes © Perikles Merakos © Perikles Merakos © Perikles Merakos © Shutterstock © Shutterstock Day 1 After getting off the plane, I bought the Athena three-day tourist transport ticket. It included transport to and from the airport and around the city (€20). Another cost that had to be spent but not too bad compared to other cities I have visited. At 4pm I checked into my hostel. Not the most glamorous of places but it was in a great location and had a beautiful rooftop. I enjoyed meeting other solo travellers, and the price was decent compared to other hotels. If I had booked this earlier (I booked less than a month before departure) then it would have been €10) less. After checking in, I bought an Aperol spritz from Spezia bistro (€9) while waiting for my 4.30pm slot to enter the Acropolis. More than I would ideally like to spend on a drink, but after ending up on the wrong bus and almost getting lost, plus a sweaty run to my hostel, I would have paid €90! Before my trip I bought a five-day combined ticket from Hellenic Heritage which grants you timed entry for multiple sites in the city over five days. It cost €30 which I thought was amazing value. Most of the sites around the city cost €12 to €20 and as someone who wanted to visit all of them this was a great spend. I fell in love with the different styles of Greek iced coffee. Walking tour at 10am. This was free but the host encouraged us to tip if we felt like it. I gave €10 as it was an amazing tour. It was refreshing to put down the map for a few hours and see some local spots. One really great thing about Athens is that there are water fountains all around the city which meant that I never had to pay for any water as I just filled up my bottle as I went. I had lunch with a woman I met on the tour from a cafe called Ydria which the host suggested. We sat outside, I ordered a Greek salad and a gemista and we split the bill (€19.50).
