Nick Robinson’s X account hacked to promote crypto
Nick Robinson’s X account hacked to promote crypto
The Today presenter discovered, according to his X account, he was launching a new cryptocurrency.
BBC journalist Nick Robinson says his X account was hacked and used to promote cryptocurrency after he was apparently targeted in an online phishing scam.
The Today programme presenter became locked out of his account on X, previously known as Twitter, on Monday night after he clicked a link in an email he wrongly believed was sent to him by the social media platform.
Robinson, 61, said that he was still locked out of his account on Tuesday after his passwords were changed, “so anything you read today, it won’t be me”.
A cyber security expert said such attacks were likely to be opportunistic, with code instead of humans seeking out social media users who have large amounts of followers, to exploit them.
The email sent to Robinson was designed to look like it was legitimate, and included a link it said would allow him to review content it claimed had violated X’s policies to stop his account being suspended.
But the email address which sent the email did not end with “@x.com” or “@e.X.com” addresses used by the platform for official communication.
Following Tuesday’s Today programme, Robinson said he had fallen for the scam despite having completed online security courses which highlighted tell-tale signs of phishing emails.
He said: “Why? Because my defences were down – I was tired after a very long day, I was rushing, and the phishing email made me think that if I didn’t act fast I’d be in trouble.
“However, I didn’t just fall for it. I tried repeatedly to use the official authentic X site to deal with the problem I was being alerted to, and only after trying again and again and failing did I think ‘oh sod it, what’s the worst that can happen?’
“Well now I know. I should have thought the opposite – i.e. if this alleged problem is really serious they’ll be in touch again.”
He added: “My main mistake was not to check the email address which made clear it wasn’t X that were contacting me but a hacker. Everything else looked just like the real thing.”
The presenter clicked on a link in the email sent by hackers which was made to look like official communication from X
Robinson told Today listeners the hack came days after he was “swamped by critical messages” from supporters of Elon Musk after he had pointed out a statement made by the billionaire owner of X was untrue.
His Today co-host Amol Rajan had raised the hack, joking that his “very own tech bro, the mighty Nick Robinson, has finally succumbed to the temptations online, and I see overnight, is launching a cryptocurrency”.
“This is the big news in Britain, and what listeners want to know, Nick, is how do they invest?,” he added.
Robinson said his account had been used to make it look like he was launching a cryptocurrency called ‘$Today’ on the Solana blockchain platform.
“So if you read that, it’s complete nonsense, quite entertaining nonsense,” Robinson told the programme.
He added: “But there’s a lesson learned – don’t click on everything you see.”
Toby Lewis, global head of threats analysis at cyber-security firm Darktrace, said Robinson was likely caught up in a scam where people with large amounts of social media followers are sent automated phishing emails after being identified by computer code.
But he added that anyone can be targeted and fall victim to similar hacking scams.
“There are signs we can look out for. But the problem with these emails is they are designed to attack us when we are distracted and busy,” he said.
“Good advice is don’t don’t click links in emails. If it’s an important message, it will be there on the relevant website for me when I log on to it.
“But with these type of threats, they will always evolve.”
X has been approached for comment.

$4 million Bugatti, Michael Jordan BMW highlighted classic car sales
A version of this article first appeared in CNBC’s Inside Wealth newsletter with Robert Frank, a weekly guide to the high net worth investor and consumer. Sign up to receive future editions, straight to your inbox. Bring a Trailer, the online classic car marketplace, sold a record $1.5 billion worth of cars last year despite a continued slump in classic car prices, according to its CEO. The company held 45,000 auctions in 2024 split between cars, trucks, motorcycles, memorabilia and parts, and had more than 1.3 million bidders. “With the stock market up and money flowing around, we had good velocity,” said ****** Nonnenberg, co-founder and president of Bring a Trailer, which is part of Hearst Autos. The strong results for BaT defied the broader slowdown in the classic car market. Higher interest rates have made classic cars less attractive as investments, since collectors can now make 4% or 5% in risk-free cash equivalents. Total sales at live classic car auctions last year fell 11%, to $2.18 billion, according to Hagerty, the classic car insurance and auction company. At the same time, baby boomers, who powered the collector market for decades, are now aging out. Many are selling their collections, leaving an oversupply of 1950s and 1960s vehicles that are less appealing to the new generation of collectors. The ***** in older trucks and off-roaders has also fizzled, Nonnenberg said. “A lot of that was seen as a Covid bubble, and that’s cooled,” he said. The new generation of collectors likes modern supercars and sports cars, especially models that are 2005 or later, according to classic car experts. Nonnenberg said today’s younger collectors, including Gen Xers, millennials and members of Gen Z, “like cars they can use, where they can turn the key and just drive it. They’re less hobbyist.” The very top of the market — with seven-figure or eight-figure cars — also remains weak. Collectors are more interested in less-expensive cars they can drive and enjoy today than they are in buying museum-quality artifacts that sit in a precious garage display. “The market is super strong for high-end sports cars in the $200,000 to $500,000 range,” Nonnenberg said. “Cars over $2 million have had a tougher time,” Nonnenberg added. The most expensive car sold on BaT last year was a 2022 Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport that went for $4.1 million. Also sold were a 2018 Bugatti Chiron for $3.1 million and a 2022 Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 that went for $2.5 million. The most popular auction, drawing the most bidders, comments and views, was the ***** of a 1991 BMW 850i 6-speed that was bought new and once owned by Michael Jordan. The ***** price: $109,000. Nonnenberg said he saw a big jump in bidding and demand right after the election, which continued through December and January, which are usually slow months. “We saw people buying $250,000 Porsches on Election Day,” he said. “And we even saw awesome stuff selling on Christmas Eve.”

******** car sales post biggest drop in almost a year in January
******** car sales post biggest drop in almost a year in January
BEIJING (Reuters) -China’s car sales fell 12% in January from a year earlier, the first decline since September and the biggest drop in almost a year, as automakers braced for intense competition in the world’s largest auto market.
Passenger vehicle sales tend to post big swings in the first two months, due to shifting timings for the Lunar New Year, which began in January this year versus February last year.
Some of this year’s demand may have been frontloaded as automakers raced at the end of 2024 to meet annual sales targets while consumers rushed to take advantage of government subsidies before a subsidy extension was announced last month, said analysts.
Sales of electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids, known as new energy vehicles, grew 10.5% on the year to make up 41.2% of total sales, the second straight month that NEVs failed to outsell gasoline cars, data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) showed on Tuesday.
“The run-up to the Lunar New Year is traditionally a peak season for car purchases in rural areas, with demand coming mostly from first-time buyers and gasoline vehicles making up a larger proportion,” said Cui Dongshu, secretary-general of CPCA.
For the whole of 2025, NEV sales are forecast to account for 57% of overall car sales, up from 47% last year.
As the world’s largest auto market is set for slower sales this year despite extended subsidies, electric vehicle giants including BYD (BYDDY, BYDDF) are competing on a price war for the third year in a row.
BYD on Monday slashed entry prices for EVs with advanced autonomous driving features to as low as $9,555, far undercutting competitors such as Tesla (TSLA).
Tesla extended discounts and financing incentives in China, while Xpeng (XPEV) and Nio (NIO) followed suit with zero-interest financing of up to five years for some models.
Car exports had a tepid start, rising 3% to 380,000 units in January from the prior year, and slowing from 6% in December, per CPCA data.

Microsoft gets rid of ‘Edge uninstall’ advice page after facing criticism over it having nothing to do with removing the app, and just promoting the browser instead
Microsoft gets rid of ‘Edge uninstall’ advice page after facing criticism over it having nothing to do with removing the app, and just promoting the browser instead
Microsoft has ditched an online document that was ostensibly about catering for those wanting to uninstall the Edge browser, but in actual fact, was an attempt to dissuade those thinking of removing the app to stick with it.
We reported on the ‘uninstall document’ last week, which came in the form of a web page that, from search results, looked like it pertained to removing Edge from your PC.
However, when actually navigating to the page, it turned out that the document was all about comparing Edge to Google Chrome, and extolling the virtues of the former.
When this hit the headlines, there were a fair few people left unimpressed by this heavy-handed attempt at persuasion – unsurprisingly – and so now Microsoft has canned the web page, as Windows Latest noticed.
When you try to visit this page now, you’re redirected to Microsoft’s Edge portal, which is still all about promoting the benefits of the browser – but without any pretence that this might help you remove Edge (and no mention of Chrome anywhere, either, it should be noted).
Analysis: A misleading tactic that needed to be canned
As you’re likely aware, Microsoft has a long history of prodding folks to use Edge, dating back to, well, the inception of the browser. The Windows operating system has long played host to various nudges, or outright adverts, pushing Edge, so it’s not exactly a surprise to see Microsoft having tried yet another angle on persuasion.
The misleading nature of the search result, compared to the contents of the web page (when it was still active), was the real problem here – and I’m not surprised Microsoft has quickly dropped this one.
Sign up for breaking news, reviews, opinion, top tech deals, and more.
What made it worse was the lure of clicking through to ‘uninstall Edge’ when for most folks (outside of Europe), there’s no official way to completely remove the browser from a Windows 11 installation. That’s because other bits of the operating system rely on code within Edge, or this is Microsoft’s stance on the matter, anyway.
You can delete all the shortcuts and so on to the browser, and ignore it, but you can’t actually remove the app as such. It’ll still be sat there lurking in the background. (Furthermore, I should clarify, you can try to ignore it, but it’ll pop up again and again with some regularity in the form of suggestions in various parts of Windows that you should be using Edge, and to make it your default browser).
One of the more frustrating elements about all this is that Edge is a genuinely good product – it tops our list of the best web browsers, in fact – but with constant attempts to promote it, Microsoft is more likely to drive folks away from the app, not into the fold.

Elon Musk capitalises on DeepSeek confusion to bid for OpenAI
Elon Musk capitalises on DeepSeek confusion to bid for OpenAI
After being fired by the company he co-founded, hired by Microsoft and then returning as OpenAI chief, Sam Altman is again facing a crisis. His ongoing stand-off with the world’s richest man, Elon Musk, has taken another turn after Musk and a bunch of like-minded investors announced they would be putting in a bid of $97bn to acquire OpenAI.
Responding to the bid, Altman tweeted: “No thank you, but we will buy Twitter for $9.74bn if you want.”
Last year, Musk filed a complaint in San Francisco Superior Court alleging that OpenAI CEO and president Greg Brockman breached the founding agreement of the creation of OpenAI.
The company was originally founded as a not-for-profit organisation, but to purchase the compute capacity it needed, it reorganised to create a for-profit business.
The company received $10bn of support from Microsoft, which included access to the Microsoft cloud, for running OpenAI large language models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT.
In January, the Trump administration announced Project Stargate. Supported by tech giants including Oracle, it’s run as a new company that intends to invest $500bn over the next four years in building AI infrastructure for OpenAI in the US.
In a blog posted on Monday, covering how humanity will need to adapt to the era of artificial general intelligence, where machines are able to tackle cognitive tasks equivalent to humans, Altman affirmed his commitment to the Microsoft partnership, writing: “We do not intend to alter or interpret the definitions and processes that define our relationship with Microsoft. We fully expect to be partnered with Microsoft for the long term.”
However, OpenAI’s position as the leader in LLM development has been put into jeopardy following the release of China’s DeepSeek AI model, which massively undercuts what OpenAI charges.
While lawmakers are trying to curb DeepSeek, due to user data potentially being shared with China, the DeepSeek models are open source, which means they can run privately and on any public cloud infrastructure. In fact, Amazon Web Services, Azure and Google Cloud Platform all offer the DeepSeek R1 model.
Costs vary depending on the graphics processor unit required, but the cheapest way to run the LLM is via application programming interfaces (APIs), which connect directly to DeepSeek’s own cloud version of its LLM.
While OpenAI charges $2.50 per million input tokens for its GPT-4o model, directly connecting to DeepSeek through an API is priced at $0.14 per million input tokens in situations where the AI engine is able to draw on previously cached information. Non-cached inputs are priced at $0.55 per million tokens.
Arguably, the existence of a model that can be run far cheaper than OpenAI may have some investors spooked. Certainly, the stock market and Nvidia’s share price crashed after DeepSeek’s announcement. The fact that Musk has put in a bid for OpenAI, just weeks after the availability of the new DeepSeek LLM, may well be the tech billionaire’s attempt to capitalise on the market confusion and potential readjustment as people begin to understand there is more than one way to do AI.
There are questions over Musk’s x.AI business and its Grok LLM. The company recently closed a Series C funding round of $6bn, but now Musk and a band of investors are looking to acquire OpenAI. Clearly, should Musk be successful in his bid, he will be at the centre of the US AI strategy, and the $500bn Stargate initiative.

*** and US refuse to sign international AI declaration
The *** and US have not signed an international agreement on artificial intelligence (AI) at a global summit in Paris.
The statement, signed by France, China and India among other countries, pledges an “open”, “inclusive” and “ethical” approach to the technology’s development.
Discussions at the AI Action Summit in Paris have focused on the impact of AI on society and the environment – and what action is needed to capture its benefits and prevent its risks.
The US and *** have not explained their reasons for not being signatories.
But earlier US Vice President JD Vance told delegates in Paris that too much regulation of artificial intelligence (AI) could “kill a transformative industry just as it’s taking off”.
Vance told world leaders gathered at the Summit in Paris on Tuesday that AI was “an opportunity that the Trump administration will not squander” and said “pro-growth AI policies” should be prioritised over safety.
He said that this would require regulation which fosters AI development, “rather than strangles it”.
Vance added that leaders in Europe should especially “look to this new frontier with optimism, rather than trepidation”.
It comes amid discussions at the Summit about the impact of AI development on society, the environment and governance.
Policy-makers, executives and diplomats at the Paris summit have been mulling ways to capture the economic benefits of AI innovation, while addressing the technology’s risks.
It was kicked off by French President Emmanuel Macron posting a compilation of jokey deepfake clips of himself in popular films and TV series on social media.
“This summit is focused on action, and that is exactly what we need right now,” said European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen on Tuesday.
She said Europe’s approach to AI, which has been championed throughout the summit, will also emphasise innovation, collaboration and “embrace the power of open source” technology.

Popular *********** models found to use up to 35 per cent more fuel than claimed
The results of the *********** Automobile Association’s (AAA) latest round of its fuel and emissions Real-World Testing Program have been released, and it’s bad news for several popular vehicles.
In 2022, the Federal Government allocated $14 million to the AAA – the peak body for Australia’s state-based motoring clubs, such as the NRMA, RACV and RACQ – to conduct real-world testing on 200 vehicles previously only tested under lab conditions.
The AAA has now published the results of 84 vehicles it has tested, with the latest, sixth round detailing 14 vehicles.
Of these 14 vehicles, only three bettered or matched their manufacturer’s fuel consumption (litres per 100km) claims.
Hundreds of new car deals are available through CarExpert right now. Get the experts on your side and score a great deal. Browse now.

The Mitsubishi Outlander was the only vehicle to use less fuel than what the carmaker achieved in lab testing, consuming two per cent less petrol in the AAA’s testing.
Nissan’s Patrol and Isuzu’s MU-X 4×4 both had negligible differences to their lab test claims, however they were among the two thirstiest vehicles tested.
However, that left 11 vehicles with real-world fuel consumption figures higher than those in the lab tests, with the Mitsubishi Triton, Nissan X-Trail, Kia Cerato, Ford Everest V6, Toyota C-HR hybrid, Hyundai i30, Kia Picanto, MG 5, Mazda CX-5, Suzuki Swift Hybrid and Mazda 2 all exceeding their claims.
In the case of the Mazda 2, it was found to use 35 per cent more fuel when tested by the AAA compared to what the carmaker claims. It was a similar story for the new Suzuki Swift Hybrid, consuming 31 per cent more petrol.
Camera IconSupplied Credit: CarExpert
While the MU-X may have been one of a few vehicles to not exceed its fuel consumption claim, it was the only vehicle to produce more nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions in testing than mandated, exceeding the limit of 180mg/km for diesel vehicles.
It was found to emit 314mg/km – though curiously this is less than the previously tested MU-X 4×2, which used less fuel but had higher NOx emissions of 372mg/km.
The AAA and Isuzu Ute Australia have been contacted for comment.
As opposed to previous results announcements, the AAA hasn’t included the baseline lab test results of the CO2 emissions of each vehicle, only what its testing found.
This article will be updated accordingly when the data becomes available.

All of the AAA’s real-world road testing is conducted on a 93km loop in and around Geelong. Testing protocols are based on European Union legislation but developed for Australia with consultation between the peak group and local regulators and industry.
“These results again show real-world testing is needed to help consumers and fleet buyers avoid buying a vehicle that produces more emissions and higher running costs than advertised,” AAA managing director Michael Bradley said in a media statement.
“While some cars perform as per the information at point of *****, our Program is revealing that many, if not most, do not.

“Testing cars in real *********** driving conditions will help sort the wheat from the chaff when it comes to cars delivering fuel consumption that matches their mandated laboratory test results, and it will act as a complementary audit regime for the NVES [New Vehicle Efficiency Standard].
“The Program is working with the NVES to help make the national vehicle fleet cleaner and more fuel-efficient.”
The AAA has not yet released testing results for EVs, which are due to be put to the test this year.

Elon Musk-led group of investors makes nearly $100 billion bid for OpenAI
Elon Musk-led group of investors makes nearly $100 billion bid for OpenAI
Elon Musk and a group of investors have offered $97.4 billion to acquire OpenAI’s nonprofit arm that controls the company, reports the Wall Street Journal. Sam Altman, chief executive and a co-founder of Open AI, and the board of directors, have rejected the bid, stating the company’s governance prevents outside control. Musk argues the nonprofit should remain committed to open-source safety-focused AI, while OpenAI is moving toward a for-profit model.
“It is time for OpenAI to return to the open-source, safety-focused force for good it once was,” a statement by Elon Musk published by his lawyer Marc Toberoff reads. “We will make sure that happens.”
The acquisition proposal is supported by Musk’s AI company, xAI, and multiple investment companies, including Atreides Management, Baron Capital, 8VC, Valor Equity Partners, Vy Capital, and 8VC. In addition, the proposal is backed by Hollywood executive Ari Emanuel, CEO of Endeavor, and Joe Lonsdale, a co-founder of Palantir.
Musk’s attorney, Marc Toberoff, submitted the offer to OpenAI’s board, aiming to buy all nonprofit assets. This proposal challenges Sam Altman’s plans to transition OpenAI into a traditional for-profit company while ensuring the nonprofit retains equity. OpenAI is raising billions to fund its AI infrastructure and a for-profit entity could raise more money and therefore speed up the progress of AI development in general and artificial general intelligence (AGI) in particular.
OpenAI is currently seeking to secure up to $40 billion in new funding in an investment round led by SoftBank, which is negotiating to contribute between $15 billion and $25 billion. If the company succeeds, this could increase OpenAI’s valuation to $300 billion. The funding round follows a $6.6 billion funding round in October that valued OpenAI at $157 billion.
That said, OpenAI has confirmed it has no intention of accepting Musk’s bid. In a message to employees, Altman emphasized that OpenAI’s structure prevents any single person from taking control. He called Musk’s offer a way to destabilize the rapidly developing company.
Musk, who co-founded OpenAI with Altman in 2015, left the company in 2019. Since then, OpenAI has raised substantial funding from Microsoft and other investors. Musk has taken legal action against OpenAI, claiming it abandoned its original mission by working closely with Microsoft. He has also questioned how OpenAI values its nonprofit entity as it transitions to for-profit status. In January, his lawyer contacted attorneys general in California and Delaware, urging them to oversee the valuation process to ensure fairness.
Get Tom’s Hardware’s best news and in-depth reviews, straight to your inbox.
OpenAI insists Musk’s legal claims are unfounded and that the nonprofit will be fairly compensated in the restructuring. The company also released documents showing Musk had previously supported a for-profit transition but withdrew when he could not gain control.
A part of OpenAI’s vision is Stargate, an initiative to invest $500 billion in AI infrastructure in the U.S. over the next four years. Musk has publicly criticized Stargate, arguing that its supporters lack the necessary funding: shortly after the announcement, he called Altman a ‘swindler’ and claimed the project was overpromising. Altman denied Musk’s allegations, but the dispute has added to the uncertainty surrounding OpenAI’s transition.

COPENHAGEN (Reuters) – A court in Stockholm on Tuesday convicted a Swedish woman of genocide, crimes against humanity and gross war crimes committed in Syria in 2015 against women and children of the Yazidi religious *********, sentencing her to 12 years in prison.
The woman, identified as 52-year-old Swedish citizen Lina Ishaq, returned to Sweden in 2020 and is currently serving time for other offences committed in Syria.
“The crimes constitute an exceptionally serious violation, not only of the life and integrity of specific individuals but also of fundamental human values and humanity,” Stockholm’s district court said in its verdict on Tuesday.

The Order: 1886 Dev Pitched a Sequel to Sony, But Was Denied
Digital Foundry : Released in February 2015, The Order: 1886 was a stunning PlayStation 4 game at the cutting-edge of rendering technology, with visuals that still hold up today. The game’s release pre-dated in-depth Digital Foundry coverage, something we’re looking to address with this new video! Ready at Dawn’s game never received a sequel and never received a PS4 Pro upgrade, but thanks to developments with exploited, older firmware PS5 consoles, we can now show you the game running locked at 60 frames per second.

ChatGPT and Google Gemini are terrible at summarizing news, according to a new study
ChatGPT and Google Gemini are terrible at summarizing news, according to a new study
A new study from the BBC says AI chatbots are unable to accurately summarize news
The study asked ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, and Perplexity to summarize BBC news articles
51% of responses had ‘significant issues’ and 19% introduced factual errors
A new study from the BBC has found that four of the world’s most popular AI chatbots including ChatGPT are inaccurately summarizing news stories.
The BBC asked ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, and Perplexity to summarize 100 news stories from the news outlet and then rated each answer to determine just how accurate the AI responses were.
The study found that “51% of all AI answers to questions about the news were judged to have significant issues of some form.” and “19% of AI answers which cited BBC content introduced factual errors, such as incorrect factual statements, numbers and dates.”
The study showcases multiple examples of inaccuracies that showcased differing information to the news it was summarizing. The examples note that “Gemini incorrectly said the NHS did not recommend vaping as an aid to quit smoking” and “ChatGPT and Copilot said Rishi Sunak and Nicola Sturgeon were still in office even after they had left.”
Inaccuracies aside, there’s another crucial finding. The report found that AI “struggled to differentiate between opinion and fact, editorialised, and often failed to include essential context.”
While these results are unsurprising considering how often we see issues with news summarization tools at the moment, including Apple Intelligence’s mix-ups that have led Apple to temporarily remove the feature in iOS 18.3, it’s a good reminder not to believe everything you read from AI.
Are you surprised?
From the study, the BBC concludes that “Microsoft’s Copilot and Google’s Gemini had more significant issues than OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Perplexity,”

While this research doesn’t necessarily give us much more info, it validates the skepticism towards AI summary tools and emphasizes just how important it is to take information from AI chatbots with a pinch of salt. AI is developing rapidly and large language models (LLMs) are released almost weekly at the moment, so it’s to be expected that mistakes will happen. That said, from my personal testing I’ve found inaccuracies and hallucinations to be less frequent now in software like ChatGPT than it was just a few months ago.
Sam Altman said in a blog post yesterday that AI is progressing faster than Moore’s law and that means we’ll continue to see constant improvements to software and how it interacts with the world around it. For now, however, it’s probably best not to trust AI for your daily news, and if it’s tech-based you may as well stick with TechRadar instead.

Why wait for the RTX 5070 when you can get $500 off an RTX 4070 gaming laptop
Why wait for the RTX 5070 when you can get $500 off an RTX 4070 gaming laptop
Gaming laptops with the new RTX 5000 series graphics cards are about to hit the market and that can only mean one thing: superb clearance deals on soon-to-be-older RTX 4000 series models.
Easily my favorite deal right now is the Asus Zephyrus G16 with an RTX 4070 for $1,079 (was $1,599) at Best Buy. Not only is this one of the cheapest machines on the market featuring the still-excellent RTX 4070 graphics card, but it also boasts a gorgeous high-end design.
The G16 is a good choice if you want a great-looking lightweight 16-inch machine that can still handle relatively demanding games. This particular configuration also features an Intel Core i7-13620H chipset, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD, which should afford plenty of performance for its 165Hz 1080p display.
This particular deal is in Best Buy’s ongoing President’s Day ***** but it’s also likely a clearance offer since a new Asus G16 already has a ‘coming soon’ page at the retailer. The cheapest configuration for the 2025 model is this RTX 5070 Ti option for $2,399.99 so today’s deal is significantly more affordable if you don’t mind opting for a slightly older option.
Today’s best RTX 4070 gaming laptop deal
If I had to nitpick anything with this particular deal, it would be that it only features a relatively low-res 1080P IPS display rather than the gorgeous 2.5k OLED panels like the more expensive configs. The RTX 4070 (even the mobile version) is a pretty capable 1440p card so it would have been nice to have a display that doesn’t limit it in any way.
With an RTX 4000 machine, you’ll also miss out on the latest Nvidia bells and whistles like Multi-Frame Generation. Adoption for this new tech is relatively limited right now but it is capable of providing a step-up in performance versus the older Frame Generation version. Still, the RTX 4070 supports that and should still be capable for a good few years down the line.
Too pricey? Check out this week’s best cheap gaming laptop deals for more options under $1,000.

Valve ban advertising-based business models on Steam, no forced adverts like in mobile games
Valve ban advertising-based business models on Steam, no forced adverts like in mobile games

“I see the more you relise that the more you rage at other people… also you seem to forget that I want PlayStation games on PC, why would that be bad news to me? I’ll be looking forward to playing them on my new 5090 build in a couple of weeks.”
That´s awesome! Congratulations! I hope you really enjoy it, and start to play more, be excited and talk more about games, support Sony and don´t buy games from MS. Stand for your own opinions and principles for once.
New PC. New life!
“Also learn about how divisions in businesses work and what boycotting games does to said divisions, you seem to think not buying games will hurt the multi-trillion dollar company and not the publishers they tried to take away from gamers.”
Spare from this nonsense, man. There´s no independent publishers or studios under MS´s wings anymore, and you know it! They´re all Microsoft employees now! They no longer have the power to decide which game will be next! They no longer have the power to decide if they want their games to be on Gamepass or even PS Plus anymore! That´s MS!
Take Sony for instance. They bough the freaking Bungie for 3.7 Billion! And what is Bungie today under Playstation´s management after 3 years? Literally a shadow of its former self!
Sony fired people by the thousands, reallocated many developer to other studios and sectors, promoted several budge cuts to the point that Destiny will no longer able to produce larger expansions for Destiny like they used to. In case Marathon fails to deliver and be a huge success, that studio might die on Sony´s watch.
Microsoft is no different! Austin ****** up with Redfall? Closed! Tango didn´t screew up and MS sold them. Toys for Bob is independent now.
MS is the one paying all those people. Ms is the one approving and paying for those games to be developed. They don´t need a reason to shut down ANY studio, being said studios successful or not!
So you can quit your fake heroic act. You´re buying MS games to help no others but yourself and MS! So don´t mind when I call you out on your hypocrisy and fake concerns with MS´s employees. You don´t care for them the same way you don´t care for developers getting fired at Sony which promoted yet another wave of layoffs and unsurprisingly you didn´t show up on the topic, because Sony´s employees don´t deserve sympathy because Sony is the best company in the world, and they have their justified reasons, right?
“…do you know what courage means? What a mess this news is turning you into, touch grass kid.”
You clearly don´t know what it is once you won´t stand for your own values and opinions. You´re the on complaining while gladly filling MS´s pocket full of money! Making the rich even richer! Those are the facts.
Be better. Grow a spine and stop support Xbox games!

The Motorola Razr+ 2025 is expected to support 12GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. It will likely house a 4,000mAh battery, similar to the existing handset. The report added that the smartphone could sport a wide and a telephoto lens.
The Motorola Razr 50 Ultra sports a 4-inch LTPO pOLED panel cover panel. It is powered by a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage.
