  1. Entire Fandom Wants That Stat Out of the Game Entire Fandom Wants That Stat Out of the Game The Marvel Rivals scoreboard has a problem child, and its name is Accuracy. In a game where spraying down walls is tactical genius and suppressive fire wins matches, this percentage has become the most useless metric since NetEase launched their hero shooter juggernaut. Players aren’t just mildly annoyed anymore—they’re straight-up bewildered. When you’re playing a game that actively encourages environmental destruction and area denial, why would anyone care about a stat that punishes exactly that kind of strategic play? Here’s The Thing about Marvel Rivals’ accuracy stat Let’s be real—accuracy in Marvel Rivals makes about as much sense as giving Wolverine a gun. For characters like ****** Panther or Psylocke who rely on close-quarters combat, this stat is downright insulting. Even ranged heroes often need to lay down covering fire or destroy terrain to gain advantages: The scoreboard already shows damage and eliminations—the true indicators of whether someone’s hitting what matters. When your Hela is popping heads and your Punisher is clearing objectives, who cares if they missed a few shots along the way? The kill feed doesn’t lie, but the accuracy stat absolutely does: Comment byu/cal-nomen-official from discussion inmarvelrivals Marvel Rivals’ unique character abilities make this stat even more ridiculous. Take Wolverine’s Feral Leap, which smart players use as both an attack and escape mechanism. Using mobility abilities defensively shouldn’t tank your stats, but here we are: Comment byu/cal-nomen-official from discussion inmarvelrivals The Damage numbers and, more importantly, that Final Hits stat, tell you everything you need to know about effectiveness. Players who obsess over accuracy often end up contributing less overall, afraid to take the shots that might actually turn the tide of battle. Better alternatives that actually make sense Venom mains don’t need accuracy when they have this. | Image Credit: NetEase Games To its credit, the community isn’t just complaining—they’re offering solutions too. Many players want metrics that reflect actual contribution to the team’s success, not just aim precision: Comment byu/cal-nomen-official from discussion inmarvelrivals While objective time seems like an obvious replacement, it comes with its own problems. Flankers like Spider-Man and ****** Panther shouldn’t be camping objectives—their job is to harass backlines and create space. A low objective time doesn’t mean they’re slacking; it might mean they’re executing their role perfectly. For dive tanks and mobile Duelists, objective time would be just as misleading as accuracy. A Venom constantly in the enemy’s backline terrorizing supports is doing exactly what it should, even if it rarely touches the payload. Comment byu/cal-nomen-official from discussion inmarvelrivals Perhaps the most intriguing suggestion comes from players who want to see NetEase introduce a “Healing Received” stat to the scoreboard. This would expose those Duelists who spam “gg no heals” after diving 1v5 into enemy territory, only to blame their Strategist, who couldn’t possibly reach them. Nothing would be more satisfying than seeing the receipts when that overextending Star-Lord claims they got “zero support”: Comment byu/cal-nomen-official from discussion inmarvelrivals Character-specific stats would also be far more valuable than a generic accuracy percentage. Imagine seeing how much damage Rocket really amplified with his ultimate, or how many perfectly timed bubbles and critical health saves you need to thank your Magneto player for. Such metrics would actually help players improve with their mains rather than chasing meaningless percentages. What do you think? Is accuracy the most useless stat in Marvel Rivals, or is there another metric that drives you crazy? Drop your thoughts in the comments and let us know what stats you’d rather see instead! 2. France, *** reject rumours of drug pouch in Macron video France, *** reject rumours of drug pouch in Macron video Officials from France, the United Kingdom and Germany have strongly rejected rumours about an alleged bag of ******** belonging to President Emmanuel Macron on the train on the way to Kyiv before the weekend. “This is a tissue. For blowing your nose,” the Élysée Palace wrote on its official X account overnight, showing a close-up of the crinkled white item on Macron’s table. Any suggestion that it was something more suspicious was wrong, the post said, blaming “France’s enemies”. “When European unity becomes inconvenient, disinformation goes so far as to make a simple tissue look like drugs. This fake news is being spread by France’s enemies, both abroad and at home. A video of the three leaders meeting on the train left many wondering what the object was on the table at Macron’s place. At one point, Macron hastily removes the white object from sight and hides it under his hand. A rumour then spread online that it was a bag of ********. Merz, for his part, allegedly hid a spoon to consume ********. High-resolution images show that the object in front of Merz is a stirrer for a drink or a small skewer for canapés but not a spoon. Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova shared the video, claiming “they forgot to put away their paraphernalia” before journalists arrived in the carriage. Aaron Hill, FP Markets’ chief analyst This “marks a pivotal moment in global trade dynamics. However, the 90-day timeframe indicates these tariff cuts are a negotiation tactic rather than a permanent resolution, creating uncertainty about long-term trade policies.” Kenneth Broux, Societe Generale senior FX and rates strategist “There is a de-escalation between China and U.S. resulting in a reduction of tariff on ******** goods to 30% and ******** tariffs on US goods to 10%. It’s a clear vote by the market in favour of riskier assets. It’s a step in the right direction and a positive of U.S. assets and U.S. economy.” Jane Foley, Rabobank head of FX strategy “That doesn’t mean that we’re back to where we were before the Trump inauguration, the 10% baseline tariff still exists everywhere, the 90 pause is there and the clock is starting to tick. The overall scenario is not as bad as it could have been, but we still have a fair amount of uncertainty about where these tariffs will settle, their impact on world growth and central bank policy.” Read more from Reuters here. 6. Combat Evolved’ Remake Is True, It Could Change Everything Combat Evolved’ Remake Is True, It Could Change Everything It’s fair to say that the last decade has been an absolute rollercoaster for Halo fans. 343 Industries’ handling of the franchise took it to its absolute rock bottom, and drove out fans in masses. Although the developer took a major step forward with Halo: Infinite, it was still a mess. However, last year, 343 Industries underwent a massive change, renaming itself to Halo Studios. The developer announced that all future projects will be built on Unreal Engine 5, abandoning the in-house Slip-Space engine. Ever since this transition, gamers have been busy wondering what’s coming next for the sci-fi franchise. Fortunately, we finally have an answer: Halo: Combat Evolved. A Halo: Combat Evolved remake is rumored to be in the works It’s not the first time we’ve heard rumors about a Combat Evolved remake. Back in October 2024, reputable insider Shpeshal_Nick opened up about the ground-up remake of the game. He stated it’s coming sooner than what might’ve been expected, with a potential release in 2026. However, after Shpeshal_Nick’s confirmation, the Combat Evolved remake rumors went quiet for a month. That was all until another prominent leaker, Rebs Gaming, offered insight into the remake’s development cycle. According to the leaker, the game is now in full production, with the proof being that Halo Studios stated that it would increase its hiring process as its projects move ahead into the development cycle. Rebs Gaming has pointed out several hiring waves by the developer in recent months. It’s crucial to take all rumors on the internet with a grain of salt. However, if these turn out to be true, it will actually be a huge moment both for Xbox and Halo fans. Combat Evolved is considered to be the most critical title in Xbox’s 24-year history. The remaster can help the Halo franchise reach a newer generation of gamers. (Image via Microsoft) The game kick-started the most iconic FPS franchises throughout the Xbox family of consoles. Although we’ve received a remaster for the title in Halo: The Master Chief Collection, a full-fledged remake can take the experience to the next level. The Combat Evolved remake comes with a shocking twist A spin-off multiplayer is also in the works. (Image via Microsoft) Well, if you’re all hyped up about returning to the glory days of Halo, there’s going to be a long wait. As Rebs Gaming has stated, the title has just entered full-scale production. This means that the game is still years away from hitting the shelves, and could be a next-gen Xbox game. What might surprise you is that there’s also a Halo multiplayer game on the cards. Codenamed Ekur, Rebs Gaming believes that the title has been in development for years now, and testing servers for it were crafted all the way back in June 2024. Due to the game’s projected timeline, the insider believes that Ekur will be the next installment in the Halo franchise to release, ahead of the rumored Combat Evolved remake. Let’s hope Microsoft gives us a look at this alleged multiplayer entry in the franchise at the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase 2025. Seriously, the sci-fi franchise has been inactive for half a decade. With that said, are you excited for the rumored Halo: Combat Evolved remake? Let us know in the comments below. 7. The Longest-Range Tesla Will Do 402 Miles, But These EVs Have It Beat The Longest-Range Tesla Will Do 402 Miles, But These EVs Have It Beat Tesla’s sinking sales figures are a sign that prospective EV buyers clearly aren’t thrilled with CEO Elon Musk bankrolling Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign and his subsequent gutting of the federal government. Self-destructive authoritarian nationalism aside, Tesla’s lineup isn’t as appealing as it once was. While many industry experts are quick to tout the superiority of electric vehicles produced by ******** manufacturers, they aren’t available to purchase in the United States. However, there are still plenty of EVs that can outclass a Tesla. For EV enthusiasts and skeptics alike, range remains the end-all and be-all. The current Tesla Model S has a maximum range of 402 miles, according to the Environmental Protection Agency. If you disagree with that figure, take your argument up with what’s left of the federal government. The Model S, launched in 2012, remains the longest-range Tesla vehicle despite being the oldest still in production. It’s an indication of how Tesla has stagnated as an automaker. Using the EPA’s fuel economy website, let’s take a peek at the EVs with longer ranges than the aging sedan. Read more: These Are The Worst American Cars Ever Made Chevrolet Silverado EV (408 Miles) A Chevrolet Silverado EV in a seaside parking spot – Chevrolet The base Silverado EV has significantly more range than the Cybertruck, Tesla’s polygonal pickup truck with 325 miles of range. The gap isn’t getting any smaller anytime soon because the promised $16,000 range extender has been removed from Tesla’s configurator, presumed dead. The Musk-led automaker initially delayed the additional battery pack until early 2025. The extender would have sat in the bed and pushed the range over 445 miles. Rivian R1S Dual Max (410 Miles) A dark green Rivian R1S Dual Max on a city street – Rivian Rivian quickly established itself as a rival American all-electric manufacturer to Tesla. The second-generation R1S definitely raises the domestic standard as an SUV with 410 miles of range. The “Gen 2” R1S debuted this model year with over 600 new components and extensive optimizations. Rivian removed 1.6 miles of wiring and reduced the previous 17-ECU system to just seven. Lucid Air Touring (411 Miles) A ****** Lucid Air Touring on a barren coast – Lucid I have made it no secret that the Lucid Air should be your go-to replacement for the Tesla Model S. The similarly priced Lucid Air Touring features slightly more range at 411 miles. Beyond range, both electric sedans are roughly equal in nearly every quantifiable metric, including top speed, 0-to-60-mph time and storage space. Rivian R1T Dual Max (420 Miles) A grey Rivian R1T Dual Max on a sandy coast – Rivian The facelifted R1T features 420 miles of range. The available Max battery packs utilize higher-capacity cylindrical cells. The added capacity doesn’t mean owners are forced to spend significantly more time tethered to a charger. With fast-charging, the new Rivians can gain 140 miles of range in just 20 minutes. The manufacturer also ditched extruded aluminum for high-pressure die-casting to reduce the weight of the pack housing. Lucid Air Pure (420 Miles) A pale blue Lucid Air Pure on a beach – Lucid The Lucid Air Pure, the base trim for the electric sedan, unexpectedly has more range than the mid-tier Air Touring. However, the 420-mile Air Pure comes with some caveats. The Air Pure comes in a single-motor rear-wheel-drive configuration, compared to the Air Touring’s dual-motor all-wheel-drive layout. The Air Pure is absurdly efficient when you consider that it has a smaller battery. Chevrolet Silverado EV 5WT (422 Miles) A white Chevrolet Silverado EV 5WT on a trail next to a power substation Engineers at General Motors love pushing the limits of what they can offer the automaker’s customers in terms of range. The Silverado EV WT is the best example of this service philosophy. Yes, the work truck targeted at commercial customers has 422 miles of range. This isn’t even the end because we will return to the Silverado shortly. Lucid Air Sapphire (427 Miles) A sapphire Lucid Air Sapphire parked in front of a home – Lucid The Lucid Air Sapphire might be on the list a little earlier than expected, but its staggering 1,234-horsepower output comes at a cost. Yes, there’s the $249,000 price tag, but the tri-motor layout makes the halo sedan an incredibly electricity-thirsty machine. To use Lucid’s terminology, the Air Sapphire uses a 22-module battery compared to the Air Touring’s 18 modules and the Air Pure’s 16 modules. Chevrolet Silverado EV 8WT (492 Miles) A white Chevrolet Silverado EV 8WT towing a tractor – Chevrolet The top-of-the-range Chevrolet Silverado EV 8WT has an impressive 492 miles of range. Edmunds was able to surpass the EPA-rated mark to hit 539 miles of range. The truck is admittedly fitted with a massive 205-kWh battery pack. For comparison, the Tesla Model S has a 100-kWh battery. With over double the battery capacity, the behemoth pickup gets 90 more miles than the sedan. Lucid Air Grand Touring (512 Miles) A white Lucid Air Grand Touring in a studio – Lucid The Lucid Air Grand Touring is arguably the gold standard of efficiency for luxury electric sedans available in the United States. No other EV in the country can beat 512 miles of range. Owners get the same substantial 22-module battery as the Air Sapphire with the modest dual-motor layout from the Air Touring. It also helps that the Air Grand Touring starts at $110,900, a deal compared to the $249,000 tri-motor monster. Want more like this? 10. Why the U.S.-China tariff pause could signal ‘good news’ for Canadians – National Why the U.S.-China tariff pause could signal ‘good news’ for Canadians – National As stock markets rallied after news of a 90-day trade war truce between China and the U.S., some stakeholders remain cautious about what it could mean for the ********* economy and consumers. “Canada’s industries have been hard hit by this trade war … any de-escalation at this time is good news for global trade,” says the ********* Chamber of Commerce in a statement to Global News. “We’ll be monitoring the China-U.S. discussion closely in the months ahead, as the details of any final agreement will matter.” In a statement, the Retail Council of Canada also said the group, “welcomes this development, but we’re not popping the champagne just yet.” “The 30% tariff that the U.S. continues to impose on itself is deeply damaging—not only to American businesses and consumers but also to global supply chains already facing significant disruption,” the council said. Story continues below advertisement What has changed in the trade war? On Monday, U.S. President Donald Trump, along with ******** officials, announced plans to reduce tariffs for a ******* of 90 days. The U.S. agreed to drop its 145 per cent tariff rate on ******** goods by 115 per cent to 30 per cent, while China agreed to lower its rate on U.S. goods by the same amount to 10 per cent. Trump referred to Monday’s trade announcement as “a total reset with China.” For the brief ******* that 145 per cent tariffs were imposed, it became very difficult for businesses to to operate normally with many seeking alternatives, or halting shipments altogether. Despite the relief on the stock markets, the long-term outlook is still very unpredictable. Story continues below advertisement Investors buying stocks on Wall Street and other markets on Monday may feel that if Trump is willing to negotiate on tariffs, then maybe the economy won’t go into a recession after all. “There still remains a lot of uncertainty,” says Morrow. “We’ve seen tariff levels gyrate dramatically over the past couple months. And in some sense, we’re just deferring the uncertainty for 90 days.” What could this mean for Canada? There have been concerns raised by economists and businesses that the U.S. tariffs on China could lead ******** companies to raise their prices, impacting the prices of goods sent to Canada by extension. That’s particularly the case with dollar stores. For ********* consumers, there are also potential ripple effects, which could mean paying higher prices for some goods, and continued uncertainty about what happens next. Story continues below advertisement This development may also raise questions about whether Trump is willing to negotiate on tariffs, with Prime Minister Mark Carney also looking to reach a deal with the U.S. administration to drop tariffs on Canada. “I think there’s a chance that he (Carney) sees this as the Trump administration realizing some of the trouble they got themselves into,” says Morrow. “Carney can say, OK, the Trump administration wants an off-ramp … wants to declare a political ‘win’ and an agreement where not as much really changes. But if you let Trump declare a win, you can both walk away with minimal damage.” More on Money More videos In the meantime, the U.S. and China are still in a trade war, but the tariffs have been greatly reduced for 90 days. The situation between Canada and the U.S. has not changed yet, with both countries still imposing a 25 per cent tariff on all imported non-CUSM compliant products (Canada U.S. Mexico Agreement), with additional duties for aluminum and steel products, and smaller levies for energy imports into the U.S. Although Carney has said he wants to see those tariffs removed as soon as possible, ********* businesses are still saying they need relief now. “We’re encouraged by the new ********* government’s recent efforts in Washington, but we recognize that resolving the Canada–U.S. tariff dispute could take time. Meanwhile, the damage is ongoing,” says the Retail Council of Canada. “We urge the government to be prepared to ramp up support should we enter a prolonged economic downturn.” &copy 2025 Global News, a division of Corus Entertainment Inc. Venezia beat Fiorentina to boost Serie A survival hopes Venezia beat Fiorentina to boost Serie A survival hopes Venezia have beaten Fiorentina 2-1 to take a giant step towards securing their Serie A status for another year, compounding La Viola’s agony after their UEFA Conference League semi-final loss to Real Betis last week. Combined with Roma’s defeat to Atalanta Juventus’ prospects of Champions League football next season have been greatly enhanced while Fiorentina are now ninth, three places and four points outside any European spot. Venezia’s win lifted them out of the relegation zone and into fourth-from-last place. The bottom three go down. Fali Cande on the hour mark and Gaetano Oristanio eight minutes later put Venezia in the driving seat at Stadio Pierluigi Penzo. Rolando Mandragora pulled a goal back for the visitors with 13 minutes remaining. However, after visiting Cagliari Venezia are at home to Juventus who will be virtually certain of Champions League football if they win their last two games. That is because Roma missed a chance to overtake them with a 2-1 defeat at Atalanta. 13. US will fast-track Utah uranium mine permit US will fast-track Utah uranium mine permit (Reuters) -The U.S. Interior Department said on Monday it will fast-track environmental permitting for Anfield Energy’s proposed Velvet-Wood uranium mine project in Utah to boost President Donald Trump‘s efforts to ramp up domestic energy production. As a result, the project’s environmental review will be completed in just 14 days, the department said in a statement. Such studies typically take years because of the potential environmental effects of uranium mining. “America is facing an alarming energy emergency because of the prior administration’s climate extremist policies. President Trump and his administration are responding with speed and strength to solve this crisis,” said Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum. “The expedited mining project review represents exactly the kind of decisive action we need to secure our energy future,” he said. If approved, the Velvet-Wood mine project in San Juan County would produce uranium, used in both nuclear energy and nuclear weapons production, as well as vanadium, a metal than can be used in batteries or to strengthen steel and other alloys. The Interior Department said the project would be located at the site of a previous mining operation and lead to only three acres of new surface disturbance. Anfield also owns the Shootaring Canyon uranium mill in Utah, which it intends to restart. That mill would convert uranium ore into uranium concentrate that could be used as a nuclear fuel. Anfield said it was pleased by the Interior Department’s announcement. “These efforts not only bring increased investor attention to the sector but will also help boost Anfield’s production prospects as one of very few companies with a near-term path to U.S. uranium production,” it said in a statement emailed to Reuters. Carney must ‘pick a lane’ on climate, energy policies, advocates say – National Carney must ‘pick a lane’ on climate, energy policies, advocates say – National Climate activists and energy leaders say Prime Minister Mark Carney will need to make some hard choices on whether to bolster the country’s oil and gas sector as means of achieving economic stability. Throughout the election campaign, Carney signalled an openness to building more pipelines in Canada and promised to cut approval times to get projects built faster. He also acknowledged during the English leaders’ debate that having western ********* oil flow through the United States to Ontario and Quebec presents a national security threat. But he also has said he wants to keep Canada’s emissions cap on oil and gas production in place, and to strengthen the industrial carbon price — policies the oil and gas sector has called on him to scrap. Carney also campaigned on making Canada a “world leader” in carbon capture and introducing investment tax credits to support clean energy and technology. Story continues below advertisement While Carney said before the campaign he would keep the emissions cap in place, Alberta Premier Danielle Smith has said the prime minister told her behind closed doors that he wasn’t in favour of hard caps. “We’ve heard Mr. Carney, in particular during the election campaign, adopt an ‘all of the above’ approach to energy and refusing to pick a lane between a cleaner, safer, renewable powered future and doubling down on the volatile fossil fuel status quo,” said Caroline Brouillette, executive director of Climate Action Network. “I think that in 2025 we don’t have the luxury of not picking a lane, both from an environmental side of things but also from an economic side of things.” 1:44 How the Liberal ********* government could complicate Carney’s energy policy And Carney doesn’t have the luxury of time either, said Adam Waterous, chairman of oil and gas producer Strathcona Resources. Story continues below advertisement With the auto, steel and aluminum sectors reeling from U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariffs, he said, Carney’s most powerful bargaining chip is Canada’s energy. Get daily National news Get the day’s top news, political, economic, and current affairs headlines, delivered to your inbox once a day. “Donald Trump has been very, very consistent for nine years. He ran on this originally, and now he wants one thing from Canada. And it’s not fentanyl and ******** immigration, that’s a head-fake. He wants an agreement to build Keystone XL,” Waterous said. The Keystone XL project — a 1,900-kilometre pipeline that would have run from Hardisty, Alta., to the major U.S. crude storage hub at Cushing, Okla., and then on to Gulf Coast refineries — was first proposed during the Obama administration, which rejected it on environmental grounds. It was then revived under the first Trump administration before then-president Joe Biden killed it again by revoking the pipeline’s permit on his first day in the White House in 2021. At that point, the project’s proponent TC mothballed the project. Trending Now ‘I am eternally grateful’: Amber Heard reveals she has welcomed twins Body of Quebec hiker missing since November found in mountains of New York state Posting on his Truth Social account back in February, Trump called for the project to be resuscitated. “Now, the industry doesn’t want to build that,” Waterous said, adding the sector wants an east-west pipeline in order to diversify Canada’s oil and gas exports and reach overseas markets. 1:42 Canadians could vote on other issues, but ‘end up with climate policies they don’t like’ expert warns Oil and gas leaders laid out five demands in a letter to Carney shortly after the election. They called on him to, among other things, scrap the emissions cap regulations and repeal industrial carbon pricing. 15. Elder Scrolls 6 Fans on Hammerfell Leaks Elder Scrolls 6 Fans on Hammerfell Leaks No one can deny the fact that Virtuos’ Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered is absolutely fantastic. Gamers are enjoying every second of revisiting Tamriel, but it’s also making the wait for Elder Scrolls 6 more frustrating. It’s been seven years since Bethesda first teased the title with a teaser at E3, back when it was still a thing. Bethesda hasn’t really shared much about the RPG since the initial announcement. All we know is that its development is in full swing, and it’s supposed to be the developer’s biggest project so far. However, that hasn’t stopped industry’s most reliable insiders and leakers from sharing their insights into the game, but Elder Scrolls fans aren’t willing to take any of it. Fans aren’t buying the latest Elder Scrolls 6 leaks A few months ago, leaker eXtas1s took to Twitter/X and shared some interesting details regarding Elder Scrolls 6. According to them, the highly anticipated RPG will be set in Hammerfell and High Rock. Gamers will be able to explore a world that’s filled with 12-13 cities. The rumor suggested that we’ll see the introduction of a village and a fortress-building feature. Naval combat, ship-building mechanics, underwater exploration, and, best of all, the return of Dragons from Skyrim are also supposed to be included. The final piece of the rumor also suggested that a gameplay trailer for Elder Scrolls 6 might be revealed in July 2025. If you’re someone who’s been actively keeping up with the developments within the Xbox sphere, you’d know eXtas1s is a reliable insider. He’s had a good track record when it comes to providing information on what Xbox is planning to do with the games under its wing. However, over on r/ElderScrolls, fans aren’t convinced about these Elder Scrolls 6 rumors. User Jimmythehamster has dismissed the rumors, saying they “smells like bulls*hit.” One might think that’s quite a surprising reaction considering the credibility of the leaker, but let’s not forget that Elder Scrolls 6 has a long history of vague rumors. Seasoned fans are highly skeptical of anything that doesn’t come from Bethesda. Fans believe the Elder Scrolls 6 rumors are fake. (Image via Bethesda Game Studios) Bethesda is a studio that’s known for its massive plans and ambitions that simply fail to be realized in reality. As user Blaize_Ar says, “Bethesda can’t even make 2 major cities”, so the rumors starting that there’ll be dozens of cities for players to explore simply sound absurd. It’s going to be a big achievement for Bethesda if it manages to bring one major city, let alone 12-13. What’s really interesting about the leak is the potential July 2025 showcase. However, as user Amaltheiaofluna says, it’s “the biggest clue” that the leak is fake because Elder Scrolls 6 has been in development for just a year at this point, as confirmed by Bethesda. Todd Howard gives an official update on Elder Scrolls 6 Todd Howard has given an update on Elder Scrolls 6. (Image via Bethesda Game Studios) It’s quite clear that gamers are sick and tired of rumors surrounding Elder Scrolls 6. However, they’ll be pleased to hear that Todd Howard, the man himself, has stepped in and given everyone a much-needed update about the upcoming RPG. A few weeks ago, Bethesda surprised everyone by releasing Oblivion Remastered. During the game’s reveal, Howard stated that the team was working hard on the sixth entry in the franchise. Obviously, we’re working on the sixth chapter here, but what’s great about The Elder Scrolls is being able to look back at all of the chapters – Skyrim, Oblivion, Morrowind, Daggerfall, Arena. Each of them try to define roleplaying games and open-world games for their generation It might sound absurd, but it’s the biggest piece of information we’ve officially received from Bethesda since the developer revealed in March 2024 that early builds of Elder Scrolls 6 were out for testers. While chatting with Minnmax, former Skyrim developer Bruce Nesmith also stated that players shouldn’t expect many updates on Elder Scrolls 6 until six months before the official reveal. So, it’s crucial to take everything that you see on the internet regarding Elder Scrolls 6 with a grain of salt, as none of it comes from Bethesda itself. When the time is right, the developer will officially give us a look at the RPG, and reveal how it plans to take the RPG genre forward. With that said, what do you think about the recent Elder Scrolls 6 rumors? Let us know in the comments below. 16. *** extends deadline for Qualcomm to make offer for Alphawave *** extends deadline for Qualcomm to make offer for Alphawave Alphawave IP Group confirmed on Monday that Qualcomm now has until May 27 to finalize a possible acquisition offer, following a new deadline extension authorized by the U.K. regulatory body. Both sides are still engaged in discussions, reports Reuters. Arm Holdings also recently considered acquiring Alphawave IP Group to gain access to its SerDes IP, crucial for artificial intelligence processors, but decided not to move forward after preliminary talks. Originally, the deadline for Qualcomm’s formal proposal was set for May 12. This date had already been pushed from an earlier cutoff. On Monday, Alphawave stated that it had reached a mutual agreement with Qualcomm to prolong the timeline further, as negotiations continue. The process remains under the supervision of the U.K. Takeover Panel. Alphawave is a leading contract chip designer that also happens to have a rather competitive portfolio of licensable IPs. Both Arm and Qualcomm could use Alphawave’s engineers to strengthen their design teams and, in case of Arm, develop licensable compute cubsystems (CSS) or, in the case of Alphawave, datacenter-grade processors. However, officially, Arm was only interested in Alphawave’s SerDes high-speed chip communication interfaces, which are crucial for AI clusters. As Arm is gearing up to expand its custom chip design business, it not only needs expertise from Alphawave, but also its SerDes technologies. You may like The SerDes field is currently led by companies like Broadcom and Marvell, whose custom design capabilities have attracted major clients such as Google and OpenAI. Nvidia also possesses SerDes expertise and has indicated a willingness to license it to third parties through its own new custom chip program. For Qualcomm, the acquisition of Alphawave would boost its chip design capabilities. Recently, the company confirmed plans to develop its own processors for data center applications. With additional engineers and SerDes IP from Alphawave, Qualcomm would get a significant advantage, which could result in faster time-to-market and a more competitive data center platform. However, Alphawave’s business ties in China add complexity to any acquisition. The company operates a joint venture with Wise Road Capital, an investment group that U.S. authorities blacklisted in 2023 due to national security issues. The group, which included families and small children, was due to arrive at Dulles International Airport outside Washington D.C. on Monday morning local time, according to Collen Msibi, a spokesperson for South Africa’s transport ministry. They are the first Afrikaners, an ethnic group of predominantly Dutch and French descent whose ancestors settled in South Africa in the 17th century, to be relocated to the U.S. after President Trump issued an executive order on Feb. 7, accusing South Africa’s ******-led government of racial discrimination against the group and announcing a program to relocate them. 1:58 Rise in asylum seekers to Canada as migrants’ protected status set to expire in U.S. Previous Video Next Video Story continues below advertisement “In shocking disregard of its citizens’ rights, the Republic of South Africa (South Africa) recently enacted Expropriation Act 13 of 2024 (Act), to enable the government of South Africa to seize ethnic ********* Afrikaners’ agricultural property without compensation,” the Trump administration executive order states. The South African government vehemently denies that Afrikaners are being discriminated against, and called the Trump administration’s claim “completely false,” adding that it paints an unrepresentative picture of the country. In a press conference on Monday, when asked about the incoming group of Afrikaners, whom the U.S. has chosen to welcome as refugees at a time when the country is also executing mass deportations of foreign nationals, many of whom hold legal status in the country, Trump said it’s because “they are being killed, and we don’t want to see people be killed.” 0:33 Venezuelan migrants at Texas detention center send SOS using their bodies Previous Video Next Video Trump added that he will meet with South African leaders next week to discuss the issue further. The claims are founded on a relatively small number of violent farm attacks and robberies on white people in rural communities, but the U.S. alleges the attacks are racially motivated, and that the South African government is “fuelling” them by allowing anti-white rhetoric to circulate and not providing sufficient protection to white Afrikaners. The government says those claims are false, has condemned the farm attacks, and says their cause is being purposefully falsified. Trump administration welcomes white South Africans upon arrival Trump administration welcomes white South Africans upon arrival A group of 49 white South Africans were warmly greeted by the Trump administration upon their arrival at Dulles Airport near Washington, D.C., on Monday after they were granted refugee status as victims of racial discrimination. In a jarring departure from the Trump administration’s posture towards all other refugees, Deputy Secretary of State Chris Landau personally welcomed the group, saying he respected “what you had to deal with” and “the long tradition of your people.” “Welcome to the United States of America. It is such an honor for us to receive you here today,” Landau told the group, many of them holding American flags. Hours after he took office, President Donald Trump shut down the refugee resettlement program, effectively ending a pathway for refugees fleeing violence and persecution to secure asylum in the U.S. and choking off all funding for refugee resettlement. “I hope and I trust that the American people have very open hearts. We are a very accepting, we’re a very friendly, welcoming people,” Landau told the Afrikaners. The Trump administration granted the group refugee status on the basis of what it calls anti-white discrimination from South Africa’s government. Trump authorized South Africans to be resettled as refugees in a February executive order that took aim at a law enacted year that authorized the South African government to seize property. It also criticized South Africa for leading the United Nations case accusing Israel of committing genocide against Palestinians in its war with ******. South Africa has called the accusations “unfounded” and said they do not meet the “threshold of persecution required under domestic and international refugee law.” Elon Musk, who is South African, has accused the government of discriminating against its white population since before he joined the Trump administration as a special government employee and head of the Department of Government Efficiency. Osuri, whose organization helps refugees resettle in the Washington area, called admitting the Afrikaners as the Trump administration has shut down channels for refugees from other countries “absurd.” “It’s just performative,” she said. “They’re not fleeing war, violence, persecution.” U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau and Deputy Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Troy Edgar meet with the first group of white South Africans granted refugee status for being deemed victims of racial discrimination under U.S. President Trump’s Refugee plan, after the South Africans arrived at Dulles International Airport, in Dulles, Virginia, U.S., May 12, 2025. 20. Toy stocks rally after levies slashed Toy stocks rally after levies slashed Toys made by Mattel, Hasbro and others are seen at a Macy’s store in New York. Staff | Reuters Shares of major toy makers rallied on Monday after the U.S. agreed to temporarily reduce tariffs on China. The agreement will pause most tariffs and other trade barriers for 90 days, including reducing the 145% levy President Donald Trump had in place on ******** imports to 30%. Shares of Mattel jumped more than 10% Monday, Hasbro traded up 6.5%, Jakks rose more than 15% and Funko soared a whopping 46.4%. The rally pushed shares of Hasbro above their trading level from early April, before Trump first announced his so-called “reciprocal tariffs” on dozens of trade partners. The rest of the toy stocks are still trading below their April 1 closing prices. The stocks had been hammered by Wall Street as investors anticipated manufacturing hiccups and price hikes resulting from the tariff scheme. The toy industry is heavily reliant on supply chains in China, leaving toy makers at the mercy of trade policy. Bank of America estimates that both Mattel and Hasbro source around 40% of their U.S. product from China. Last month, Hasbro estimated that it would see as much as a $300 million hit to its bottom line if Trump’s 145% China duty held. Mattel, too, warned last week that it was taking mitigating actions to fully offset costs associated with Trump’s trade war with China, including raising prices in the U.S. Both companies had previously issued forecasts that assumed 25% tariffs on ******** imports. Mattel retracted its guidance earlier this month, citing macroeconomic volatility and uncertainty surrounding U.S. tariffs. Hasbro, meanwhile, maintained the full-year guidance it issued last quarter, but warned investors about the uncertainty of the current tariff environment. Representatives from Hasbro, Mattel, Jakks and Funko did not immediately return CNBC’s request for comment. The U.S. agreed to drop its 145 per cent tariff rate on ******** goods by 115 per cent to 30 per cent, while China agreed to lower its rate on U.S. goods by the same amount to 10 per cent. Trump referred to Monday’s trade announcement as “a total reset with China.” For the brief ******* that 145 per cent tariffs were imposed, it became very difficult for businesses to to operate normally with many seeking alternatives, or halting shipments altogether. The seventh-seeded de Minaur lost focus, and his serve, before getting back on track to win 6-4 6-4. “I didn’t handle it very well, because I got broken straight away,” said de Minaur who now plays 12th-seeded American Tommy Paul. “I did well to bounce back and get the break back, but I’ve got to be a little bit better mentally to not let those things, outside factors affect me.” Also seeking to regain focus is Jannik Sinner, who is making his comeback after his controversial three-month doping ban. The world No. 1 overcame a brief lapse during the first set of a 6-4 6-2 victory over Dutch qualifier Jesper de Jong in his second match back on tour in front of his home crowd. Sinner raced to 4-1 but then lost his serve twice as De Jong evened the set at 4-4. There were poor drop shots, an inopportune double fault and other errors from Sinner. But he regained control with his powerful groundstrokes and big serve and extended his winning streak to 23 matches, dating to October. Just like in his opening win over Mariano Navone on Saturday, the fans at the Foro Italico were fully behind Sinner — Italy’s first No. 1. “It’s good to have him back,” de Minaur’s next opponent Paul said of Sinner, after beating Tomas Machac 6-3 6-7 (5-7) 6-4. “He’s such a big figure in the sport. He sets the bar right now.” The last Italian man to win in Rome was Adriano Panatta in 1976. Sinner next faces 17th-seeded Francisco Cerundolo, who beat Austrian qualifier Sebastian Ofner 6-2, 6-4. Another Italian favourite Matteo Berrettini was forced to retire when 7-5 2-0 down against sixth-seed Casper Ruud. This followed retiring in Madrid with an abdominal injury. Berrettini had not been fit to play in Rome for four years. “I feel so bad for him because this is where he’s from, his home Masters 1000,” said Ruud, who signed the camera ‘Sorry Matteo. Feel better!’ “I know he hasn’t played since 2021 because of other injuries. There were also wins for Jakub Mensik, Hubert Hurkacz and Jaume Munar. with AP Source link #Minaur #progresses #interruption #air #aces Pelican News View the full article at [Hidden Content]
