  2. We recently attended a Q&A session at Lies of P Overture's preview event, where game director Choi Ji-won revealed that two easier difficulty levels are being added to the base game, alongside a boss rush mode. While he assures us that the Bloodborne-esque, Victorian-themed adventure "is always [going to be] hard," the move will open up the game to a whole slew of new players, while a fresh boss rush mode is also inbound to challenge soulslike veterans. 3. A reliable source in the Genshin Impact community has stated that, contrary to earlier rumors, Version 5.8 will feature no new characters. Genshin Impact tends to release 17 characters per patch cycle. While this isn't an official rule, it has been true since the launch of Inazuma in Version 2.0. Assuming Aloy counts as playable, Inazuma, Sumeru, and Fontaine all had exactly 17 characters spread throughout the game's updates. View the full article

  9. According to a new rumor, Xbox may be offering limited physical editions of Gears of War: Reloadedfor Xbox Series X/S, as well as for PlayStation 5. Earlier this month, Xbox and series developer The Coalition unveiled a new remaster of the Xbox 360 classic called Gears of War: Reloaded. The game's reveal came with important info like its 4K resolution and 60 FPS performance, as well as its August 26 release date. Perhaps the biggest piece of news to come out of the announcement is the fact that Gears of War: Reloaded is also coming to PlayStation 5, marking a monumental moment as another of Xbox's most beloved first-party properties finally arrives on Sony's console. 11. Humble's latest bundle is a bit different than usual; rather than putting together a collection of games of a similar genre or from the same developer, its latest T1D Breakthrough bundle consists of eight top titles (and one DLC) developed by people with links to type 1 diabetes. You can get all nine items for as little as $10 / £7.58, which is a huge 93% off! 15. Civilization 7 is caught between two warring sensibilities. Since 1991, it's been a historical 4X game, and players naturally expect that it not only honors but attempts to capture and recreate real events - or at least the essence of certain periods. It's also Civilization 7. Firaxis has nailed the formula, but after 34 years, I'd imagine even the most cast-iron fans are ready for a major reinvention. This, surely, is why we have the controversial Ages system, which slashes micromanagement and allows for a more playful mixing of leaders, abilities, and civs. But given the response to Civilization 7 so far, it's perhaps an overcorrection. Enter Ara History Untold. With a new DLC on the way, it could be the 4X game to balance historical accuracy with more inventive, fantastical alternative modes. Read the rest of the story... 16. As a mini gaming PC fan, I've always been fond of the idea of using an eGPU, but they've usually been too clunky or slow to make them a practical option. This new Asus ROG XG Station 3 eGPU dock, however, might just be enough to change my mind. This model, unveiled for the first time at Computex 2025, comes with a brand new design and much faster Thunderbolt 5 speeds, along with some interesting benchmark data. This Asus dock, which at first glance looks a lot like a Puddle Jumper from Stargate, supports cards with power demands of up to 1,000W, meaning you can easily power the best graphics card options with it, including the RTX 5090, although the most powerful cards will require a power supply upgrade. It also supports the Asus GC-HPWR connector, meaning no cables are needed - it's a slot-in-and-go scenario, as long as you have an Asus graphics card that supports the upgraded BTF connector. 17. Following on from its triumph with the Radeon RX 9070 XT, AMD has entered Computex with all guns blazing for its latest GPU launch. The new AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB will apparently cost just $349, a massive $70 less than the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB. Not only that, but AMD says the 8GB version will match the price of the new RTX 5060. There's just one problem with these prices - I don't believe them. I was blown away by the last AMD GPU launch in my Radeon RX 9070 XT review. With its $599 MSRP, 16GB of VRAM, FSR 4 support, and awesome performance, it was easily the best graphics card in its league, putting the $549 RTX 5070 to shame. Read the rest of the story... 21. David Gaider wants to make a new RPG and, with credits that include the original Baldur's Gate games, Dragon Age: Origins through Inquisition, and Star Wars: The Old Republic, it's no secret as to why. Gaider's writing has launched franchises, paved the way for the romance systems we see in games like Baldur's Gate 3 and, in many ways, changed the way that we approach narrative-focused videogames. But before we get another big RPG, there's Malys, an "unholy roguelike deckbuilder" that oozes high gothic elegance. Cast as Noah, a former priest turned exorcist, your job is to hunt down the titular ****** and bring about its end in the most bloody way possible. It's a marked shift in tone from Summerfall Studios' first game, Stray Gods, but it doesn't skimp on style. Read the rest of the story... The last couple of weeks have seen a blocky farming game with a shockingly simple premise outgrow the Steam player counts of Counter-Strike 2, PUBG, and Apex Legends to become one of 2025's biggest games. 23. The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered has only been out for roughly a month, but has already sold more than the original did in its first year. Fans had speculated that a remaster of the fourth Elder Scrolls game was in the works long before its official reveal, and it looks like all the pre-release hype has paid off for Bethesda. In its first month, The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered has already become a chart-topper, beating out both current-gen competitors and its original version. View the full article

  25. Summer is fast approaching, which means it’s time for Warhammer Skulls. The ultimate showcase of Warhammer video games is back for its ninth year, hosted for the third time by actor and superfan Rahul Kohli. There will be world premieres, exclusive reveals, and update announcements, and you can watch it all live. Showcase Date, Time, and Where to Watch The festivities will begin on May 22 at 5:00 p.m. BST, which means 12:00 p.m. Eastern / 11: 00 a.m. Central / 9:00 a.m. Pacific. You can see times for other regions in the graphic at the bottom of this page. IGN will livestream the full event, which will be around 50 minutes long. You can tune in on any of these channels: [Hidden Content] (our homepage) IGN’s Facebook IGN’s Twitter IGN’s Twitch IGN’s YouTube If you’re not able to watch the showcase live, no worries. We’ll post the whole event on YouTube after it’s finished, like we did for last year’s show. What to Expect from This Year’s Showcase As usual, this year’s showcase will feature exciting world premieres, reveals, and updates for several games. You can count on updates for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, since we know Patch 8 and Horde Mode (or whatever it ends up officially being called) are on the horizon. Publisher Focus Entertainment previously gave an overview of Horde Mode, saying you can play with three players (or bots replacing the other players) and that the map will be in Kadaku. However, we don’t have a release date or know everything else that’s coming in Patch 8. That’s the game we can be most confident in being part of the show, but there are several others that should be in line for updates and new info too. There’s Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II, which was announced with a trailer at last year’s Warhammer Skulls. There’s Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, which as of December is now available on PS5 in addition to Xbox Series X/S and PC. Now that it’s established itself across platforms, there will be new content coming. We know there’s DLC coming for Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, but so far only know it’s planned to release in the summer. And there are plenty of other games that could see updates or new content — like Total War: Warhammer 3, Warhammer 40,000: Tacticus, Warhammer: Vermintide 2, Warhammer 40,000: Warpforge, and Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector. Plus, there’s sure to be brand-new premieres and announcements nobody could predict. On top of all that, the showcase on May 22 also marks the beginning of a week-long celebration with marked down prices and freebies. During that week, you can get up to 90% off Warhammer titles, and there will be new content, DLCs, and free updates across several platforms, including Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store, GOG, and Geforce Now.
