  5. If you're in the market for a high-end display, it simply makes sense to go 4K these days. Some of the best HDR monitors are 4K models, but there are also excellent affordable options available. Read Entire Article View the full article
  6. Helldivers 2 has just gotten another fresh patch, and I'm delighted to report that one of its fixes finally means ******-free snowball fights are back on the menu! Oh, and it should also rectify a bunch of other pesky freezes that've been frustratigly griding the action to a halt mid-operation for a lot of players. Yup, even though there's probably something bad about to happen now that the galaxy's free from the threat of the automatons - a victory that's temporarily made the game un-platinumable - everything's right with the world now. For the first time in just under two weeks, you should be able to lob a snowball at your mate without worrying that doing so might cause your game to ******. As recently teased via the game's Discord server, patch 01.000.202 for Helldivers 2 is mainly focused on stopping the game from crashing in a number of different situations. The instances that'd been causing the most ire in the community were those that had been happening either " during extraction [from a mission] and right after it", but you'll be glad to know that those and a host of other mid-mission crashes should hopefully now be a thing of the past. 8. Robert Downey Jr. certainly isn't opposed to an Iron Man comeback, even though the character is technically meant to be *****. Back in 2019, after making films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Downey Jr. said goodbye to his career defining role as Tony Stark, aka Iron Man. ****** felt like a fitting end for a character whose whole thing was supposed to be attempting to redeem himself for all of the deaths that he caused, and even if I don't love the MCU, it felt like a weighty, if slightly unearned choice to make. However, even though the character is *****, Downey Jr. would be happy to ruin that thematic decision and come back to the character. The now Oscar winner spoke to Esquire following his award for his performance in Oppenheimer last month, where he shared his feeling on the possibility of returning to Iron Man. "Happily. It’s too integral a part of my DNA," Downey Jr. said. "That role chose me. And look, I always say, 'Never, ever bet against Kevin Feige.' It is a losing bet. He’s the house. He will always win." To be fair to Feige, though, in an interview with Vanity Fair last year, the MCU head did say that there are no plans to bring Iron Man back from the *****. "We are going to keep that moment and not touch that moment again," he said at the time. "We all worked very hard for many years to get to that, and we would never want to magically undo it in any way." Read more View the full article
  9. The Team Fortress 2 voice cast continue to have far, far too much fun with their characters. Hot on the heels of occupying a jazz bar to croon about sandwiches (or sandviches, if you're a stickler for grammar), the gang has once again reunited to recreate another video from the Meet the Team series that Valve put out over a decade ago... 10. Ahhh League Of Legends, a MOBA that occupied my university years. While I'd argue climbing the ranked ladder with my housemates were some of the best game moments I've ever had, I'd also argue giving up League was necessary. I became too involved, too close to the toxicity. But now League's threatening to drag me back in with something I hadn't seen coming - a Vampire Survivors-like PVE mode. No! I must resist (I will be on it immediately when it arrives). Read more View the full article
  11. After I installed the Flash Player plugin my first thoughts were of Garfield.com, an award winning website which, while a bear to navigate back in the day, was home to a wide array of Flash based games and amusements based around the titular comic cat created by Jim Davis. Caches of the old Garfield.com content can still be found hosted on the Internet Archive. Read the full article here: [Hidden Content] View the full article

  17. Helldivers 2 launched two months ago, and now has its own established meta. Some weapons and Stratagems are better than others, and players have seemingly discovered a sleeper powerhouse that’s ideal for spreading Democracy. When it comes to Support weapons in Helldivers 2, many players opt for heavy hitters like the Quasar Cannon and the Railgun. On April 8, players on Reddit highlighted that the Stalwart Support machine **** is “crazy underrated” and that more players should use it. 18. Photo by Tom Warren / The Verge Owners of Intel’s latest 13th and 14th Gen Core i9 desktop processors have been noticing an increase in game crashes in recent months. Now, Intel says it’s investigating the reports. “Intel is aware of problems that occur when executing certain tasks on 13th and 14th generation core processors for desktop PCs, and is analyzing them with major affiliates,” says an Intel spokesperson in a statement to ZDNet Korea. 20. Yup, this month just has too many cool Fallout things too keep track of. While you're probably aware of The Fallout TV Show, which we've just learned is now dropping via Amazon Prime on April 10, a number of fan projects and creations have also been arriving as part of the Fallout mania. The latest of these is the first trailer for Fallout: Breaking, a new fan film from someone you might be familiar with if you're a series veteran. For those who aren't, here's a little refresher. Back in the halcyon days of 2011, when the idea of a Fallout TV or movie adaptation seemed a little more like a pipe dream, Fallout: Nuka Break came out. Originally planned and released as a fan film, it ended up becoming a web series that ran for a couple of seasons, got some spin-offs, and was even referenced in Fallout New Vegas - via the Nuka-Breaker, a Nuka Cola sign melee ******* that's part of the **** Runners' Arsenal DLC. Now, Nuka Break's creator, Zack Finfrock, is back with the first trailer for a new fan film he's been working on, dubbed Fallout: Breaking. As well as featuring a Nuka-Breaker - don't worry, someone does get hit with it - the first trailer for Breaking focuses on the main character, Twig, Finfrock's role from Nuka Break that he's reprising. 22. As a ranked VALORANT player, you may often find someone who gives their KDA primordial importance and discriminates against any players with a poor history even before the match has begun. VALORANT players on Reddit have raised their voices on a similar issue on how third-party applications like ‘Blitz.gg’ and Tracker applications have “ruined” the experience of the ranked matches where there is too much emphasis on the previous results of players rather than focusing on the game at hand—which could potentially go either way. 23. Daisy Ridley is set to return as Rey in an upcoming solo outing for the Star Wars character, but she apparently didn't sign up right away. A new Star Wars trilogy was always going to be somewhat controversial, no matter how good the films ended up being, because to put it perhaps slightly unkindly, Star Wars fans can be a bit annoying. I get it, you love this massive universe filled with all kinds of wonder! But you can stop complaining about The Phantom Menace now, it's not actually that bad. Of course, the new trilogy of films did go on to be received quite radically differently depending on who you asked, resulting in a difficult time for its cast, but in a new interview with Empire, Ridley has said she's "coming in a bit more eyes wide open" to her next stint as Rey. "I suppose I feel more like I’m owning it. I suppose I owned it the first time. Basically, I’m an ****** now. I certainly did not feel like an ****** at the time. Obviously, personally, things have changed, and professionally, I’ve had lots of other experiences, and so I definitely feel like it’s a different thing this time." Ridley still has a lot of love for the films too, even with all the conversations (and harassment) surrounding them, going on to say "There's just a lot of joy with me and these films. Honestly, if I wasn't excited, I wouldn't have done it. It feels like a great thing to be a part of." Read more View the full article

  25. Saber Interactive CEO Matthew Karch believes the ‘$70 game’ will eventually become a thing of the past, as developers move to reduce costs and risk in an increasingly challenging AAA games market. Speaking to IGN, former interim COO of Embracer Karch discussed Saber’s divestment from the troubled group, and where he sees Saber’s place in the market as a standalone publisher. The exec said he believes Saber, which encompasses studios like Nimble Giant (Star Trek Infinite), 3D Realms (Ion Fury), and potentially 4A Games (Metro), occupies a position between independent studios and AAA publishers.
