  1. Star Wars Outlaws' latest trailer shows off more of game's story and its protagonist, the scoundrel Kay Vess. The big reveal comes at the end: Outlaws will release on August 30, assuming it doesn't suffer from the all-too-common scourge of big-game delays. Read Entire Article View the full article
  2. Oh dear, another Game of Thrones spin-off is no longer in development at HBO, this time the one set to focus on Jon Snow. With Game of Thrones having been as successful as it was, it's no surprise that HBO would want to capitalise on that as much as possible. Unfortunately for the network, it's only actually managed to get one show off the ground so far, House of the Dragon, whose second season is due out this summer. And now, in an interview with Screen Rant, Jon Snow actor Kit Harington has confirmed that the sequel series starring his character is no longer in the works. "I hadn't really ever spoken about it, because it was in development," Harington said. "I didn't want it leaked out that it was being developed, and I didn't want the thing to happen where people kind of start theorising, getting either excited about it or hating the idea of it, when it may never happen. Because in development, you look at every angle, and you see whether it's worth it. Read more View the full article

  4. Helldivers 2's Major Orders reward system is getting a full overhaul, following player complaints about their hard-earned medals being slow to arrive and as such, damaging their ****** in managed democracy, with potentially dire consequences for their ability to massacre spiky robots and large insects. 5. From time to time, certain League of Legends champions dominate roles they weren’t made for. In the latest update, this is the case for one iconic Fighter. In Patch 14.7, Garen boasts the highest win rate in the mid lane. At the time of writing, the Demacia’s might has an enormous 53.61 percent win rate in the role, though he only has a 0.5 percent pick rate, [Hidden Content]. Nevertheless, this small pick rate still translates to almost 30,000 matches. View the full article
  6. While Palworld’s latest Raid update claims to have introduced a non-medical way to wipe Negative Pal statuses, it doesn’t seem to work as intended. According to the patch notes, keeping your Pals in the Pal Box should now work to remove Negative Pal statuses affecting them in Palworld. According to several reports on Steam and Reddit, however, players haven’t been able to remove Negative Pal statuses despite keeping their Pals in their Pal Boxes for over 24 “real life” hours. 7. Ok, so, you know that bit in Helldivers 2's now iconic intro cinematic where one minute, everything's fine, and the next some poor man's screaming because a Terminid is ******** his family right in from of him? Well, thanks to a new behind-the-scenes video from the company that made the sequence, you can now enjoy a hilarious ultra close up of the mo-cap for that scene. Yes, it's a weekday and we're casually reccomending that you take time out of your day, minutes of your life that you'll never get back, to watch a man scream into a camera while dressed in the slightly silly clothing that a lot of modern games, films, and shows require. Look, it's a bit funny, ok? I promise. To see this bit of screaming, you'll need to check out a new behind-the-scenes video that Goodbye Kansas Studios, the Swedish VFX studio that worked on the game's intro alongside Arrowhead, has just put out. It's not too long, but offers some interesting glimpses at the motion capture and modelling that went into bringing the intro to life in a fashion that's not just people in funny suits running around with **** props. 8. After a long wait, the first trailer for Joker 2, aka Joker: Folie à Deux, is here, and honestly, it doesn't look half bad. One of the biggest questions surrounding Joker 2 is whether it's a musical or not. Supposedly, it isn't one, but the film's first trailer released yesterday at CinemaCon and I'm having a hard time believing that. In the trailer, we finally get a look at Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn in action, though with the trailer only being a couple of minutes long, it's hard to get a good read on what her performance will be like. Though, the little we do see of her performance is looking good so far, something that isn't exactly surprising for the talented actor. Director Todd Phillips did appear at CinemaCon to discuss the film, where he shared that the original intention was to only do the one Joker film, but while talking to lead actor Joaquin Phoenix, the two spoke of doing another "because it was so fun and we liked the character of Arthur and Joker so much." Then, the pandemic happened, and the two brought up the idea again, "and now we're here." Read more View the full article

  10. The Finals Shape showcase for Destiny 2 on April 9 revealed new Exotic class items that will seemingly completely change the meta and potentially the fashion game. The upcoming Exotic class items can roll any two Exotic armor perks in Destiny 2. Exotics like these are bound to become the meta as soon as they are released simply due to their strength potential. However, using only these Exotics means your fashion is at risk, which is why on April 9, a Destiny 2 fan on Reddit suggested we should be able to transmog the Exotic class items, just like we can any Legendary class item. 12. Almost every VALORANT player I come across these days is in love with Clove—and I understand every bit of the hype. Unfortunately, here’s the irony: Despite her playstyle favoring those who love to secure frags, I’ve found it incredibly difficult to maintain a positive K/D with her. Thanks to her ******-defying ultimate, Not ***** Yet, while you can definitely resurrect yourself in the tightest of situations, running around trying to get a damage assist or ***** before the not-so-long timer expires is chaotic. 16. Skarner’s rework went live in League of Legends with Patch 14.7 on April 3. Ever since, players have been enjoying the new iteration of the scorpion-like champion, and now they’re finding out about his terrific emote. As expected, Skarner not only had his abilities and appearance updated, but also his emotes. On April 9, Reddit user jackbbya123 posted about the champion’s dance emote, which is a dance from the song and popular internet meme Crab Rave. And, just like us, the players love it. 17. We can speculate about why there are a lot of horror games nowadays, versus barely none at all about 10 years ago. Maybe horror games are less expensive to make and thus more viable for smaller developers, especially when the unheimlich effect of early 3D graphics is so suited to the genre, not to mention the benefits that darkness and repetitive labyrinthine interiors may have on smaller development budgets. Maybe it's an unconscious push back against the brash, saccharine vibe of most popular contemporary videogames; if the Fortnite-ification of everything sets your teeth on edge, maybe an unrelentingly violent game about psychopathic nuns will act as salve. OR: maybe people are just generally more messed up in the 2020s, and love to watch horrible things and be scared... Read more.View the full article
  18. The Final Shape is approaching, but before that, Destiny 2 players must prepare the Last City to defend itself before it pursues The Witness into the Traveller. That’s where Into the Light comes in, with the free expansion now live and packed full of gear and activities. Into the Light kicked off on Tuesday, April 9 and will run right up until The Final Shape finally launches in early July, and Bungie has filled the gap with a new horde mode “Onslaught,” reprised weapons straight from Lord Shaxx’s BRAVE vault, the return of Exotic missions The Whisper and Zero hour, and plenty more. 19. Destiny 2 players have already discovered a major bug with a Cascade Point, a perk that rolls on numerous weapons including the new BRAVE arsenal added with the Into the Light update today. Bungie has been forced to disable all weapons with Cascade Point until they fix the fresh gamebreaking issue. The issue is simple: It’s actually possible to keep the Cascade Point perk activated basically indefinitely, which on certain weapons like the reprised Edge Transit grenade launcher, meant an incredible amount of damage output until the user ran out of ammo—definitely not what Bungie intended. As a result, Bungie made the call to disable the perk late on April 9, flagging the choice on X (formerly Twitter) soon after. Players with a Cascade Point ******* will now receive a notification that the ******* will not work as intended. View the full article

This again makes it possible for all Blizzard titles to operate in mainland China from as early as this summer. 23. Blizzard has announced that its games are coming back to mainland China in summer 2024 after almost a year and a half off the market. Additionally, Microsoft (which now owns Blizzard) and NetEase have entered another separate agreement to bring NetEase games to Xbox and other platforms. Blizzard’s games were taken offline in China in January 2023 after NetEase and Blizzard were unable to reach a new publishing deal. However, both companies have now reached one. The deal will include all of the games that ******** players had access to from the previous agreement, including ones like Overwatch, Diablo, and World of Warcraft. While both parties are working to relaunch the games, more details will be revealed later. Phil Spencer chimed in on Microsoft’s new partnership with NetEase, saying, “Returning Blizzard’s legendary games to players in China while exploring ways to bring more new titles to Xbox demonstrates our commitment to bringing more games to more players around the world.” However, Spencer provided no other specifics. Thanks to the incredible work done by @Blizzard_Ent and NetEase to renew our commitment to players, we will soon welcome back millions of community members in China to our Blizzard universes. This is exciting for everyone at Xbox, Blizzard, and for players everywhere. Read more: [Hidden Content] — Phil Spencer (@XboxP3) April 10, 2024 This new deal comes after Blizzard and NetEase had a bit of a falling out back in November 2022 when their oiriginal publishing contract was set to expire. Blizzard China and NetEase were pointing fingers at each other, where the former offered to extend services, but the latter declined it, with one NetEase executive claiming that the original deal extension fell apart because of one specific “*****." Either way, Blizzard was committed to look for alternative ways to bring its games back to the ******** market, but it finally reached a new agreement with NetEase. 25. Raging Bolt is rising in the ranks of the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet metagame, finally dethroning the dominant Flutter Mane to become the top Paradox Pokémon by day two of the Europe International Championships (EUIC). Following its emergence, Dot Esports asked pro VGC players what’s all the rage with Raging Bolt. Ever since Raging Bolt’s VGC debut at the beginning of Regulation F, the long-necked behemoth has proved to be among the very best Pokémon to come out of The Indigo Disk DLC. At EUIC (which ran from April 5 to 7), Raging Bolt took this one step further, claiming the second spot on the usage chart for day two of the event, only behind Incineroar. In doing so, it ranked the highest among all Paradox Pokémon and special attackers—including Flutter Mane, who dropped to seventh place in day two’s usage. View the full article
