Hushed Whisper wasn't as popular as the other offerings in this year's Festival of the Lost, but this bow is still one of Destiny 2's hidden gems—especially with a god roll. We overlooked Hushed Whisper at first glance, focusing instead on Gunburn, Festival of the Lost's other new addition, and the reprised Arcane Embrace. But thanks to a specific synergy between two of these perks, we're happy to keep one copy of it in our vaults. This weapon struggles as a Legendary bow (and one of two aligned to Strand), since it doesn't get the bonus against enemies from the Wish-Keeper Exotic. Bows are also not in the best spot in the meta, but it may still be worth keeping a copy of this in your vault. Here are our Hushed Whisper god rolls, based on perk data from [Hidden Content],0,0,0&m=0&mw=0. Hushed Whisper PvE god rolls in Destiny 2 The base version may be even more beautiful than the Holofoil. Screenshot by Destructoid String: Polymer String, Elastic String, or Natural String.Arrow: Straight Fletching, Fiberglass Arrow Shaft, or Helical Fletching.First perk: Tear, Slice, or Successful Warm-Up.Second perk: Archer's Gambit, Explosive Head, or Hatchling. The synergy between Tear and Archer's Gambit is what gives Hushed Whisper its flavor, at least in our experience, and that's why it's our god roll. If you're aiming for harder content, Archer's Gambit lets you line up shots quickly thanks to its draw time bonus, and Tear will sever enemies in an area-of-effect on a precision kill. Gambit doesn't need a kill either, so you can get it running with little setup. If you're struggling to land your shots without aiming down sights, you can ADS to line up your arrow and release the aim input just before letting it fly, so it still counts as hip-firing. Still, that's not the only option for Hushed Whisper, which has a few tricks that may complement your playstyle. Melee-focused players might get some use from having Collective Pugilism as a second perk, and Strand-based builds may also benefit from Hatchling as a second perk. If that's the case, your god roll depends on what you'd like to pair it with the most. Tear and Slice are good options, especially in harder content, but there's another perk that may shine here, as seen below. You may have to fight a bunch of these for your god roll. Image via Bungie If you're taking your new Hushed Whisper for a spin in an easier activity, however, it's worth considering Successful Warm-Up in the third column over Tear. This gets you a consistent draw time buff triggered on kills (which are easier to come by with lower power deltas) and opens up room for a damage-boosting perk, such as Explosive Head, on column four. Precision Instrument is a bit hit-or-miss: it does grant you considerable benefits, but it's tricky to keep it stacked. For parts, we recommend going for accuracy and draw time. The former works well in general, and the latter helps you keep firing more quickly before triggering your perks. When it comes to bowstrings, Polymer boosts both accuracy and draw time, while Elastic grants you more draw time with a penalty in accuracy, and Natural doesn't impact your draw speed but bumps other stats. How to get Hushed Whisper in Destiny 2 At least the Haunted Altars activity is fun. Image via Bungie Hushed Whisper can drop from Festival of the Lost activities. Destiny 2's classic Halloween-themed event runs until Nov. 11 (after Bungie gave it an extra week due to bugs). It may drop from Haunted Altars of Sorrow (when it doesn't glitch out), the PvP-focused Red Rum(ble), and any Portal activity that has a FOTL Engram as your bonus drops. After the spooky celebration ends, your next shot at getting this bow is probably in 2026. The good news is, the Call to Arms event kicks off just after FOTL, so at least you'll have more shiny new guns to chase—including the Submersion heavy crossbow, which counts as a bow and will be focusable for the first time. The Support class can arguably be the best choice in Battlefield REDSEC if you get its build on point. The Support class has been my favorite in Battlefield 6, and it's as valuable for the battle royale mode, if not more. That said, some of its abilities have been modified according to the nature of the battle royale mode, and this guide will help you test out a fantastic build. Best Support build in Battlefield REDSEC Loadouts and builds work differently in REDSEC than the base game, but the fundamentals remain the same. While you're free to use any weapons, the following build makes the most of the Support's class proficiencies and abilities. ItemBest ChoicePrimaryKTS100 MK8 (RPKM)SecondaryP18Gadget 1Supply BagGadget 2Smoke Grenade Launcher Let's begin with your primary. While I have RPKM in brackets, you'll want to opt for KTS100 Mk8. The LMG, with the right attachments, has practically no recoil while having decent damage and a massive ammo capacity. For the Magazine, you can go with the 45RND Fast Mag. Adding the ******* Stubby as the Underbarrel makes it more stable, while the CQB Suppressor is the best choice for battle royale. Once built correctly, the KTS100 Mk8 can shred down enemies from a distance. It's also an excellent option for laying down suppressing fire to pin down the enemy. Screenshot by Destructoid For the two gadget slots, I went with the Supply Bag and the Smoke Grenade Launcher. As a Support, your job is to keep your team well-supplied. This means ammo and armor, and the latter appear to be quite scarce. Once you drop the supply bag, it will automatically resupply your allies with ammo for weapons (gadget resupply doesn't happen in REDSEC). All your allies will also heal more efficiently by having a faster recovery rate, and even if they're in a gunfight. This can really create a unique situation where your supply bag can become the difference-maker. For gadget 2, I have opted for the Smoke Grenade Launcher. Having an extra option outside of smoke grenades to create a temporary illusion in the battlezone is immensely useful. With Support, it's important how you play. You will never want to get yourself isolated on the map, since it largely reduces the potential impact of the supply bag. Additionally, don't waste the ammo of your Smoke Grenade Launcher since you can't refill it. You should aim to pick up as many health packs as you can, so that you are in proximity to your allies. Unlike other classes, your allies can pick the health packs by directly interacting with you. You should aim to pick up as many health packs as you can to stay in proximity to your allies. My first experience with The Outer Worlds 2 was ... rough. I had no real problems running Avowed on my PC, but the same couldn't be said for Obsidian's latest outing. The opening section was manageable, but as soon as I hit the larger open areas of Eden, there was little I could do to maintain an even remotely acceptable frame rate. View the full article

I'm two for two on writing about games set on the moon today, but sometimes that's just how it is! This time around it's about a newly revealed game called Descent of Lunaris, a dungeon-crawling, turn-based RPG whose devs say it's inspired by classics like Wizardry and Shin Megami Tensei. And, truth be told, it truly looks like a game for sickos, who I'd like to clarify here I am referring to with every sincere ounce of love in my heart. Read more View the full article

Rebellion Unplugged's flagship (or, flag-car, I guess) racing board game Joyride is still young - the original 'Survival of the Fastest' version crowdfunded in late 2023, and only reached local game store shelves in February 2025. But it must be doing pretty damn well, because not only has Rebellion already given the original two spin-offs and four expansions in the past couple of years, it's just launched a full-on 'expand-alone' follow-up game on Gamefound. At press time, it's already racked up nearly $90,000 from backers. Read the rest of the story... Remedy Entertainment's CEO has resigned, leaving the new CEO of the developer of Control and Alan Wake to reassure investors after weak sales of FBC: Firebreak left the company significantly lowering its revenue expectations for the year and writing off the game's development costs. In its quarterly earnings report issued today, Remedy revealed that it recognized a €14.9 million ($17.4 million) impairment charge representing most of the development costs as well as purchased publishing and distribution rights for FBC: Firebreak. In total, Remedy's revenue decreased 32% year-over-year, to €12.2 million ($14.2 million). Remedy says this was largely driven by lower development fees coming in than last year at this time, during which it received revenue from Annapurna related to development work it did on Control 2. Remedy also revealed that it was revising its revenue expectations for the year: while previously Remedy expected revenue and operating profit to increase year-over-year and be positive, it now expects revenue to increase, but its operating profit to decrease and be negative. No exact numbers were shared. Alongside this, CEO Tero Virtala has stepped down after nine years in the position. He is succeeded in the interim by board chairman Markus Mäki, who has stepped down from his chairman role and been replaced by Henri Österlund. In comments by Mäki shared with investors, he stated that while Remedy would continue "working on features which enhance player value" and would keep true to its shared roadmap for Firebreak, the studio has moved development resources elsewhere going forward. Mäki also attempted to reassure investors that Firebreak was not a total loss: "We have also found positive sides from FBC: Firebreak," he said. "Our first multiplayer product launch was technically successful in a cross-platform environment, and our publishing team has built capabilities which support the releases of our future self-published titles." FBC: Firebreak was Remedy's first ever self-published game, and while the studio claims it technically succeeded, it also admitted last quarter that it "underperformed" on Steam and that the company was "unsatisfied" with its commercial reception. In today's earnings, Remedy stated that Breakpoint improved the game's sales only "marginally." We gave FBC: Firebreak a 6/10, saying that it was a "compelling co-op shooter that, despite its good looks, doesn't have the depth to keep things interesting long-term." If you fancy yourself something of a vampire, then you can probably relate with the premise of Dark Moon. One of the most intriguing survival strategy games I've seen in a while, your overarching goal is simple - stay out of sunlight, or face dire consequences.
