The One Piece anime will be making a fresh start on Netflix thanks to Wit Studio, but the reason for its existence is a bit silly. Have you ever met someone who says they don't watch old movies just because they're in ****** and white? I've always found that line of reasoning weird, why would you limit yourself in such a way when there's so much good stuff out there that just happens to be old enough to have been shot on ****** and white film? Well, it seems I've now gotten old enough to be at a point where some might even argue that watching old anime in that classic, boxy, 4:3 format is difficult because everything is in widescreen right now. Which, again, is a similarly silly argument, but it's kind of the reason behind why the One Piece anime is getting a remake. In a recent interview with ********* outlet Real Sound, Wit Studio (the studio behind the upcoming remake) and Production I.G. president Takeshi Wada touched on their upcoming take on One Piece, and how younger viewers might find it hard to watch older shows (via GamesRadar through machine translation). "For young people who are used to watching today's animation due to technological innovation, some may find it difficult to watch the images from 25 years ago, when One Piece started its animation broadcast, because of the different [ratio] format," Wada said. League of Legends players are struggling to come to terms with three full splits in a single year, with many claiming they’ve now given up on the ranked mode due to time constraints or the constant grind back after a season concludes. League players today declared they’ve felt less inclined to return to ranked after every split in a June 2 post on the game’s subreddit, with the constant push to grind and recalibrate a major concern. There are just four days to determine the best team participating in the League of Legends tournament at the Esports World Cup. Starting July 4, eight teams amongst the best in the world will convene in Riyadh to take home first place, $400,000 USD, and a thousand Club Points for the main leaderboard. Each team in the EWC 2024 earns Club Points based on their competition results, which are then added to the main leaderboard. There’s plenty to discover in XDefiant season one, but above all, players are looking to try out the GSK faction. While some will undoubtedly buy the faction outright, you can unlock it for free—as long as you manually activate its Major Challenge. There are two ways to unlock the GSK faction in XDefiant: Purchasing it outright for 1,000 XCoins (about $10 USD) or by completing the GSK Major Challenge and earning 700,000 XP. Eager players have already jumped straight into XDefiant to unlock the new faction but completely bypassed hitting the activate button, meaning some spent hours earning XP that didn’t actually count toward that lofty 700,000 XP requirement. Not a day on from XDefiant‘s season one update, players are already demanding Ubisoft takes another pass at the DedSec Spiderbot ability, which seemingly hasn’t received the full nerfs the developers promised in the pre-update patch notes. The patch notes for the July 1 update stated DedSec’s Spiderbot ability, which sees the player drop a spider that chases and stuns enemies, had its cooldown increased from 25 to 40 seconds. However, it appears the Spiderbot still has the same shorter cooldown. Coupled with a “bugfix” that now prevents latched enemies from destroying the Spiderbot while attached, it’s become a serious problem XDefiant players want fixed pronto. View the full article
