Ark: Survival Ascended may already have plenty of scaly beasts roaming the lands but a forthcoming update is about to make the deep even scarier thanks to the introduction of a toothy new fish. It's common knowledge amongst the Ark community that venturing into the ocean with the necessary tools and supplies is asking for trouble given the number of gigantic prehistoric creatures swimming around in the darkness. While this next addition may not have size on its side, it certainly makes up for its diminutive stature with a terrifying set of fangs. View the full article
Fallout 2 designer John Deiley discussed his original idea for the intelligent deathclaws of Vault 13, and how they were unceremoniously ******* off before they could be developed further as a concept. Even though the Fallout franchise has always been known for its special brand of humor contrasted against the bleakness of a post-apocalyptic wasteland, Fallout 2 is widely viewed as the entry where its humor is front and center. The wasteland is littered with pop-culture references, from Monty Python to The Terminator, and even the player protagonist being ironically referred to as The Chosen One exemplifies the overall direction that Fallout 2 decided to take. Baldur's Gate 3 has managed to be both one of the best games of the decade and a faithful adaptation of its source material, Dungeons & Dragons. For the most part, it uses the basic mechanics of the TTRPG, such as DC, AC, and the majority of rolls coming from a d20. Since the medium of the game is different to what it is adapting, there have been changes to make BG3 fit the CRPG genre, which wouldn't be necessary for the tabletop. An example would be restricting Short Rests to two per day. View the full article
