  1. Despite its rekindled popularity, Fallout 4 just can't seem to catch a break as Bethesda's latest update manages to break the game even more, angering veterans and newcomers alike. Following the success of Prime Video's streaming series, Fallout 4 has seen a massive resurgence in players as the most recent dedicated single-player RPG in the franchise and while that's been a boon for the community, the recent "next-gen" patches have only hampered the experience. The latest release, which was meant to fix many of the game's most recently introduced problems, has only managed to make things worse. View the full article
  2. A trademark sneakily filed in the ******* States by Bethesda suggests a new entry in the long-running ***** series may be right around the corner. ***** Eternal was the last major release in the series, though the Roguelike Mighty ***** released in 2023, and it seems Bethesda is reigniting the ****** against the apocalyptic invasion. 7. Greek **** pulverizing simulator Hades 2 is getting its first patch "later this month", say the developers. Two things are on their to-tweak list. First, something might change about the way resource gathering tools are used (the pickaxe you use to mine silver during a run, for example). Second, and perhaps more significant, is an upcoming change to the way Melinoë's dash and sprint work. We don't know exactly what that change is but, according to Supergiant, it has something to do with your witchy batterer's "distinct style". Read more View the full article
  8. A while back Ubisoft revealed about a billion *********'s Creed projects. The first of these to leap into the carefully placed haystack of release was Mirage, which I liked. Up next, it seems, is the artist formally known as *********'s Creed: Codename Red. All we knew about red was that it would be set in feudal Japan, something fans have been clamouring for for literal years. Now we know that it's an AC game set in feudal Japan called *********'s Creed Shadows, and it's getting an "official cinematic world premiere trailer" debut on YouTube tomorrow, at 5pm BST. Also, because this sort of thing seems to always happen with Ubi, the placeholder text for said YouTube premiere might have accidentally leaked the release date for the game as November 15, 2024. 9. Arguably the greatest player to ever touch CS:GO, s1mple, has yet to fully return to competitive play. In the meantime, though, he’s launched his own training course that teaches you to play just like him. On May 13, the Ukrainian player revealed a “groundbreaking” CS2 program called “play like s1mple.” Players can sign up to participate, and the first three lessons are completely free. If you pay, you can access over 50 additional lessons, and more are expected to come in the future. View the full article

  12. Scott Pilgrim director Edgar Wright is seemingly in talks to direct a remake of '60s cult classic Barbarella, with Sydney Sweeney already attached to star. It's been a while since Wright has sat in the director's chair, with his last film being 2021's Last Night in Soho. To be fair, he was likely busy overseeing last year's very good Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, and he is currently working on a remake of The Running Man with Glen Powell in the lead role. Funnily enough, it seems like Wright might also be gearing up to work on another remake with Powell's Anyone But You co-star Sweeney. The Euphoria actor has been attached to a remake of Barbarella for a little while now, and according to a report from Deadline, Wright is currently in talks to helm the film. With Wright currently working on The Running Man remake, this remake of Barbarella will likely be a ways off yet, and Sweeney herself is busy too. However, Deadline also reported that Jane Goldman and Honey Ross are also in negotiations to pen the screenplay for the project. Goldman has written a number of big-name projects like X-Men: First Class, Kick ****, and Kingsman: The Secret Service, so she seems like a suitable addition for a film like Barbarella. 14. But the good news doesn't stop there for the action-RPG series. Capcom also announced that the series as a whole has soared past 100 million copies sold – a massive number, matching the behemoth Resident Evil series' numbers from 2020. It's clear that Monster Hunter is a key franchise for the publisher – and that's a good thing, since we're about to see even more Monster Hunter content launch in the year ahead. Only back in January, Capcom revealed that Monster Hunter World - the first ambitious open world entry in Capcom's legendary action series - surpassed 23 million units sold, accounting for nearly a quarter of the overall figure shared this week. So, what's next for the massive monster-hunting series? Well, there's a few things in the works. First off, if you're a regular on this site, you'll know that I'm obsessesed with Monster Hunter Now, and continue to extol the virtues of the Pokemon Go-like game. The game continues to see regular events and updates, and only recently, loyal players got a series of ice-themed tasks to complete leading up to a Zinogre-based takeover that's coming to the map soon. If you're keen on checking the game out, I recommend perusing our Monster Hunter Now codes page to help you get a boost when you start playing. Read more View the full article
  15. Following the retirement of former CEO Jim Ryan, Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that a pair of Playstation execs will serve as his replacements going forwards. As of June 1, Hermen Hulst and Hideaki Nishino will step up into new roles that'll fill the departed exec's boots. If you're out of the loop, Ryan stepped down from his CEO position at the end of March, not long after PlayStation ***** off 900 people and closed London Studio as part of those cutbacks - though the exec had already revealed he'd be departing his post back in September last year. The occasion of Ryan's retirement was celebrated via a collectable digital bobblehead of him you could grab through the PlayStation Stars program, in case you were wondering. Now, as announced via an SIE press release, Nishino and Hulst have been officially revealed as his replacements, with the former stepping up into the role of CEO of SIE’s Platform Business Group, while the latter becomes CEO of SIE’s Studio Business Group. So, that's Nishino in charge of things like hardware, PSN and Playstation's third-party relationships, while Hulst will be in charge of PlayStation’s first-party dev teams and helping organise TV and Film adaptations of the console maker's games. 17. Square Enix has released its financial report for the 2023 fiscal year, and it looks like all of its major games have fallen below sales expectations. Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth, Final Fantasy 16, and Foamstars didn't meet established sales targets - with few sales figures shared across the board. Alongside this the company is shifting to focus away from mobile, pushing to bring games to Xbox, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and PC. Starting with those game sales figures, Final Fantasy 16 was initially on track to hit its targets but ultimately fumbled the full-year sales target as momentum for the game slowed down post-launch. There were no updated sales figures, leaving the three million launch week sales milestone as the final word for now. Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth seems to have done even worse, at least as far as hitting targets is concerned. Unlike Final Fantasy 16, the game didn't hit initial sales targets, nor did it hit yearly targets. No figure was shared on its total sales to this point. Foamstars fits in nicely here, as it stands alongside Rebirth in missing those targets. Read more View the full article
  18. Three of Square Enix’s most high profile recent releases sold worse than expected, the company’s president has reportedly said. According to Bloomberg’s Takashi Mochizuki, Square Enix president Takashi Kiryu told analysts that sales of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Final Fantasy 16 and Foamstars all fell short of its expected revenue and profit. As a result, the publisher expects to earn an operating income of ¥40 billion ($255 million) this financial year, instead of analyst estimates of ¥57 billion ($364 million). Read More... 20. Things aren’t looking especially good for PlayStation at the moment. Though Sony doesn’t appear to be suffering quite like its major competitor Microsoft, the company’s PlayStation business simply isn’t doing as well as it used to. PlayStation 5 hardware sales in the financial year that just ended have missed projections, even after Sony lowered its expectations by a couple of million. The sales dip represents a whopping 29% year-over-year slump in Q4. Recent months clearly haven't been kind to PlayStation. Read more View the full article
  21. Artifacts are modifiers that will give you an assortment of bonuses, buffs, and the occasional debuff to change the way you face the ****** and how much damage you end up outputting. However, don’t let the randomness of their spawning extend to you selecting any Artifact without giving it a thought. Here are the best Artifacts you can find in Gatekeeper. What are the best Gatekeeper Artifacts? Before we begin, be mindful that I will only include all five Basic Sets every player can use from the start as well as the Titan-200 Artifact group – since it is the easiest to unlock if you get to Aridune. This is because I believe those are the groups I deem indispensable and therefore, the only necessary to have a successful run that will help you complete all achievements – although you will benefit from unlocking more.Screenshot: PC InvasionOf course, the tier list you will now see is entirely based on my own experience in-game and many, many deaths. 22. Helldivers 2 has set a new record as Sony’s fastest-selling launch game in history, eclipsing **** of War: Ragnarok to claim the honor. 24. Pocketpair released the major Palworld v0.2.4.0 update on May 13, introducing substantial tweaks to Alpha Pals, bosses, and looting systems. On top of that, it seems like it’s the first patch almost perfectly synced with the Xbox version. Today’s v0.2.4.0 update launched at 11pm CT, and was then added to the Xbox version of the creature-catching game an hour later. It’s a massive change, especially since previously Xbox players had to wait days before updates hit their Palworld versions. View the full article
