Enshrouded’s Pact of the Flame update is now live, and fans of the survival-crafter have a new animal to tame. That’s right: you can add your very own Dune Armadillo to your base with the latest patch. But before you do so, you’ll need to collect the right ingredients for your animal bait. Like other tameable animals in Enshrouded, you need to visit the Farmer, one of the game’s many craftspeople, to craft Dune Armadillo bait before you can wrangle up one of these little guys. Both the armadillos themselves and many of the ingredients needed to make the bait are found in the Kindlewastes, so you’ll also have to have unlocked this biome before you can add one to your base. A new leak about the boss lineup in Divergent Universe during Honkai: Star Rail 3.1 has emerged and based on the information that was provided, it seems like Hoolay may not be players' biggest concerns during the activity. Hoolay is the leader of the Borisin faction that tried to overtake the Xianzhou Luofu. He is a fairly recent boss that was introduced during Version 2.5, the same update that added three different playable characters from the Xianzhou Alliance to the game: Moze, Lingsha, and Feixiao in Honkai: Star Rail. With his release, Hoolay quickly became a menacing boss to face. View the full article

Mel has recently been nominated into the League of Legends bug Hall of Fame, thanks to a bug that immediately disconnects everyone in the game. If Mel is facing a Ryze and he applies a Spell Flux (E) mark on her, she can use her W to reflect the incoming Overload (Q) detonate to reflect all the damage. But it doesn’t stop there, as the game doesn’t like this interaction very much. In a few more seconds, this interaction will always instakill the Ryze, start lagging the server, and you’ll hear roughly nine announcements of “A Summoner has Disconnected.” View the full article

Monster Hunter Wilds is making some big changes to the franchise, with Capcom going the extra mile to experiment with this title and make it more accessible. The open world has obviously been a big talking point, since it is a series first, alongside the massive, 100-person lobbies. MH Wilds is also making even more of an effort to tell a story, with the player character being fully voiced in cutscenes and able to pick dialogue options when talking to NPCs. Although a mainline title, like MH World, Capcom isn't afraid to try something new. View the full article

I can’t imagine the stress of having to release a game in 2025. The market has gone through such a challenging time post-COVID that it feels like every game, outside of a few unimpeachable hits, is born into a battle to survive. It would have been tough enough to release a game in 2025 when the market was strong, but with studios closing constantly and even some of the biggest franchises underperforming, what chance have you got? This is why, despite having a great time playing Exoborne, I came away with a sense of dread about the market it’s being released into. [Hidden Content] Read More... View the full article
Former The Elder Scrolls designer Ted Peterson loves the fan-made remakes and ports to games like Daggerfall, but says it's a shame videogames need this treatment while movies don't. Fans of Bethesda's fantasy RPG series have been porting, enhancing, or completely rebuilding the games for years, and they show no signs of slowing down. Getting more modern versions of these games is great, but it is bittersweet when you realize that for some classics, these are the only real ways you can easily play them today. When you think of 'MOBA,' two things come to mind: Dota 2, and League of Legends. While we've seen a plucky new rival rise to the surface in Supervive, most competitors have come and gone, unable to topple Valve and Riot's titanic titles. But that isn't the goal for Heroes of Newerth: Reborn, the brand new remaster of S2 Games' classic 2010 multiplayer game. The 1.068.000 update, which weighs in at 19.907 GB on PlayStation 5, can be downloaded now ahead of the launch of Season 2 later today, January 28. Season 2 brings weapon tuning, spawn logic improvements, a bullet penetration update, much-needed challenge tracker details, improvements to camo challenges, equipment, perk, field upgrade, and wildcard updates, new ranked cross-play options on consoles, ranked play SR gain/loss adjustments, HUD preset updates, and Zombies bug fixes and improvements. There’s also the promise of improved anti-cheat amid growing frustration and cheating across ****** Ops 6 and Warzone, particularly in ranked. Updates include enhanced detection models for behaviors like aim botting, stricter account trust and hardware identification to target repeat offenders, and new tools to combat dishonest behavior such as playing with cheaters or attempting to spam report innocent players. “We are also focusing on more precise tools, including major upgrades to the kernel-level anti-cheat driver and server-side systems starting this season and continuing into Season 03,” Activision said in a blog post. “These measures, combined with ongoing improvements and legal actions against cheat sellers, aim to deliver a more secure and enjoyable experience for everyone.” Meanwhile, with Season 2 comes a new battle pass packed with new weapons and cosmetics. There are over 110 pieces of unlockable content excluding the more expensive BlackCell, including three new base weapons, an underbarrel crossbow attachment, and new operator skins and weapon blueprints, and a whole lot more. There are three new Multiplayer maps: Bounty (6v6), Dealership (6v6), and Lifeline (6v6, 2v2). New Multiplayer modes at the launch of Season 2 include Overdrive and, in week two, the fan-favorite Gun Game. Expect four new weapons during Season 2: PPSh-41 – SMG (Battle Pass); Cypher 091 – Assault Rifle (Battle Pass); Feng 82 - LMG (Battle Pass); and the TR2 - Marksman Rifle (Event Reward). Baldur’s Gate 3’s hotly anticipated Patch 8 stress test is live now officially after it was accidentally rolled out early to PS5 users earlier this week. Developer Larian said those who put their name down for the Patch 8 stress test on PC or PS5 should be on the look out for an email invite. If you registered through the Xbox Insider Programme, the Baldur’s Gate 3 Stress Test application is now live in the Xbox Insider Hub for you to download. If you were one of the PS5 players who downloaded Patch 8 early, Larian said you can roll back to Patch 7 by deleting and reinstalling the game. “Think of it as a time-travel mechanic,” the developer said in an update on Steam. During the Patch 8 stress test, Xbox, PlayStation, and PC players will be able to test out cross-play by either creating or joining a lobby. Patch 8 also adds split-screen to Xbox Series S. Split-screen on Microsoft’s less powerful console was cited as the cause of Baldur’s Gate 3’s delay on Xbox Series X and S, given the company’s commitment to parity between Xbox Series S and X for all games. Microsoft ultimately made an exception for Baldur's Gate 3 so the game could launch later in 2023. Elsewhere, there’s photo mode and 12 new subclasses to get stuck into. Larian hasn’t said when Patch 8 will be made available generally, but it’s expected later in 2025. Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 8 Stress Test Patch Highlights: While some of you will get to try out Patch 8 for yourself, starting today, here’s just some of what you can expect with Patch 8 once it is ready for release! Reporting Bugs During The Stress Test Internal playtesting has been ongoing for several weeks now, and thanks to the introduction of photo mode in Patch 8, our playtesters have discovered new means to highlight some interesting issues. While we don’t expect you to showcase every unexpected bug you run into (please, don’t do that), we would be grateful if you could report any issues you experience in the Patch 8 stress test using the existing bug reporting form.
