If you've been missing modes like OG, Blitz, and Reload in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 1, it's not by accident. The modes I have stated are disabled as of writing by game design, and they will be returning very soon to Fortnite. That said, the return dates are different for every mode, and this guide will help you keep track of when you can enjoy them once again. Table of contentsWhen will Reload return to FortniteWhen will Blitz return to FortniteWhen will Fortnite OG returnWhen will Reload return to Fortnite Reload is the first mode that's set to return in Fortnite. The mode will be back on Dec. 4 as the Battle Bus goes back to commission. While the Battle Bus is damaged as of writing, you can complete the questline to help complete its repairs. Doing so will fetch you plenty of rewards along with seasonal XP. Reload also marks the introduction of Surf City, which will be a smaller version of the current map. When will Blitz return to Fortnite Screnshot by Destructoid Blitz will also be returning to Fortnite on Dec. 4. Its return will be slightly behind that of Reload, but you should be able to access it at the same time as Ranked. Blitz will feature a new map in the form of Starfall Island. Expect to find POIs like Holloway House and Flowberry Fields among other locations, as they were teased to us by Epic. When will Fortnite OG return While we will be able to access Blitz and Reload this week, the same can't be said about Fortnite OG. If you love the mode as much as I do, you'll need to wait until Dec. 11. It's speculated that the arrival of OG could also mark the start of the Winterfest event, but it's yet to be confirmed. The winter-themed event has always been a favourite among the fans, and it could be an excellent time to get cool rewards ahead of the holiday weeks. Destiny 2 meets Star Wars with the Renegades expansion on Dec. 2, but avid fans may want to preload the update for an early start. Good news and bad news: you can indeed preload Renegades, but the window is quite tight, and it requires a lot of disk space. Preloads releasing when the maintenance downtime starts isn't new, but this time, the server outage only lasts for one hour. Here's how you can preload Destiny 2: Renegades. Table of contentsWhen does the Destiny 2: Renegades preload start? How to preload Destiny 2 RenegadesHow big is the Renegades preload? When does the Destiny 2: Renegades preload start? Me and the boys when the update goes live. Image via Bungie Preloads for Destiny 2 Renegades start at 10am CT on Dec. 2 in most platforms, though "some PlayStation users" can jump the gun after Nov. 30 if they have auto updates enabled, Bungie said. It's quite a short timespan to get ready for the next expansion, especially considering downloads can get as big as 170 GB. If you're not on PlayStation, your preload only begins one hour before the update drops on the weekly reset, which is not much of a "pre" load—especially considering you must download an entire new version of Destiny 2 in that time. In most cases, that version will also coexist with your existing installation, making for an exorbitant file size of hundreds of GBs worth of Destiny 2 data. If you've cleared out your disk storage and have a good internet connection, here are the steps you can take to download Renegades ahead of time. How to preload Destiny 2 Renegades I'm definitely eyeing that sniper. Image via Bungie Once the preload ******* kicks off, the download should appear when updating Destiny 2 as usual on your platform of choice. PlayStation: Set up auto-updates by going to Destiny 2 in your main menu, clicking Options, and marking "check for updates."Xbox: Go to Profile & System, then Settings, Systems, and Updates. You can enable auto-updates for your games here, including the Renegades preload.Steam: The Renegades preload should appear in your Downloading ****** shortly after it becomes available. Enable auto-updates by going to Destiny 2's properties in your Library tab and checking the "immediately download updates" box. If the preload doesn't show up, try resetting Steam.Epic Games: Like Steam, the update should land on Epic once Bungie enables global preloads.Microsoft Store: Look for the latest update in your download ****** once the preload ******* begins. How big is the Renegades preload? Stay away from the Sarlacc pit while you wait for the preload. Image via Bungie The disk space requirement is another obstacle to preloading Renegades, since most versions require you to have more than one version of Destiny 2 on your computer. On Steam and Epic, the next expansion may require you to have over 300 GB of space on your disk. PlatformPreload storage space requirementsTotal file size after RenegadesNotesSteam326 GB170 GBThe Steam preload requires you to have both the latest Edge of Fate patch and the Renegades preload on your disk at the same time, though the obsolete one will disappear after the game goes live. Every once in a while the dimensional rift weakens and a game slips through from elsewhere. Probably the best example of this is Knights in the Nightmare, a bullet hell RPG initially released on the Nintendo DS that, to describe properly, would take a one thousand+ word footnote all by itself. It's not that these games tend to be overly complicated but rather the frame of reference just isn't available, so describing them by using familiar elements isn't an option. The genre with the largest number of extradimensional games is music, and while the well-known note tracks abound (Rock Band and Guitar Hero, DJ Max, Yunyun Syndrome, DDR, Beatmania, etc.) it's a genre that's more than happy to go completely off the rails as well. The Battle Bus questline in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 1 requires you to find different parts of the vehicle, and there are four wheels to collect from all over the new map. Once you activate the questline, the map markers will be displayed to you. However, finding the Pump N' Run gas stations can be tricky, and more so if you're under enemy fire. This guide will help you find out all the wheels from the different gas stations, allowing you to complete the quest. All Pump N' Run Gas Station locations in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 1 There are exactly four gas stations, spread all over the map. Each of these gas stations has a wheel. You'll need to find all four, and it's not necessary to complete the task in one single match. As long as you find a wheel, it will register. To complete the quest, however, you'll have to visit all four locations (even if that's spread across different matches). Located on the eastern part of Ripped Tides, you can find the gas station halfway towards the Battlewood Boulevard. Go east from Bumpy Bay, and you'll find the second one to the west of Innoloop Labs. You can find one in the southern part of Sandy Strip. This location also offers a source from which you can collect a custom Battle Bus part.Another station can be found east of Wonkeeland. You'll find the marked locations of all four pumps in the screenshot below. Screenshot and remix by Destructoid It's definitely possible to reach all four pumps in the same match, but that will require you to be extremely strategic. Instead, it will be easier to complete the quest across multiple matches. You can also combine it with other quests, like collecting three Custom Battle Bus pieces, to save time. Once you find all four wheels, it will reward you with 10,000 XP and bring you one step closer to completing the first Battle Bus questline. Finding good weapons in ARC Raiders is one thing, but kitting them out with the best attachment is your ultimate goal. Every good weapon can be turned into an absolute powerhouse with the right attachments, and the Kinetic Converter brings you one step closer to perfection. Buffing your overall rate of fire, this stock attachment is a fantastic tool for improving any gun in the game that supports it, but finding it is more difficult than proving that God exists. So, here's where you should look to maximize your chances. Where to find Kinetic Converter in ARC Raiders Screenshot and remix by Destructoid The Kinetic Converter is a legendary drop, meaning you can find it out in the wild, but the chances of that happening are astronomically low. Therefore, it's advisable to check out those locations that are bound to spawn the best possible loot, including legendary items. For that reason, I strongly suggest the top of the Launch Towers on Spaceport. They're located in the very middle of the map, and can be accessed via ziplines that take you straight to the top. There, you will find countless high-level loot containers, which are almost guaranteed to drop at least some hard-to-get items, including potentially a Kinetic Converter. I have received yellow items from the Launch Towers on numerous occasions, and consider them one of the best places to loot in the entire game. They're also fairly easy to access on account of few ARCs patrolling at ground-level, though you should pay close attention to your surroundings as other players know how good the loot here is and will be gunning for it as soon as possible. Kinetic Converters can supposedly be crafted, but it is necessary to first obtain a Kinetic Converter Blueprint, and then make them at Gunsmith 3. The item only appears to be obtainable during the Locked Gate event on the Blue Gate map, and is otherwise not in the loot pool. This isn't confirmed yet, so your best bet would be to participate in events so as to maximize your odds of obtaining the blueprint. With the advent of gaming PC handhelds, your entire library of PC games is at your fingertips. Now you can play Steam games like Clair Obscur, Hades, Silksong, or Ball x Pit on a device that's not much ******* than a Switch console. For Cyber Monday, select SteamOS gaming handhelds - including the Steam Deck - are on *****. One is even priced a bit lower than on ****** Friday. SteamOS is more intuitive to use on a handheld than Windows and I would recommend it for anyone who wants an easy, hassle-free experience that plays most games with minimal tinkering and little technical know-how. Lenovo Legion Go S Z1 Extreme SteamOS Edition New lower Cyber Monday price at Lenovo! Also available at Best Buy for $649.99 Save up to $270 off the higher-end Legion Go S model. Lenovo has it slightly cheaper than Best Buy thanks to two stackable coupon codes "BOPIS" and "LENOVOHOLIDEAL". Even if you buy it from Lenovo, you still have the option to choose in-store pickup at your local Best Buy retail store. This particular Lenovo Legion Go S is equipped with the more powerful AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor, 32GB of RAM, 512GB storage capacity, and it runs off SteamOS instead of Windows. The Z1 Extreme is much more powerful than the APU found in the Steam Deck and as such, it will outperform the Steam Deck in pretty much any situation. Graphics also look sharper with more fluid movement, thanks to a ******* 8" 1200p display with a higher 120Hz refresh rate. The Legion Go S also supports a much higher maximum charging rate (up to 100W vs 40W for the Steam Deck). This deal prices the Legion Go S on par with the highest end Steam Deck, but it's superior in almost every way. Check out Jacqueline's 9/10 review of the Legion Go S (Z1 Extreme, SteamOS model), in which she concludes that it is one of the "best handheld gaming PCs on the market, and a legitimate Steam Deck alternative." Lenovo Legion Go S Z2 Go SteamOS Edition Also on ***** is the Legion Go S Z2 Go Edition, which is currently $449.99 after a $200 discount. Despite the fact that the AMD Ryzen Z2 Go is a 2nd gen chip, it's actually less powerful than the Z1 Extreme. Fortunately, it's still more powerful than the Steam Deck's APU and you should expect slightly better performance out of it, especially if you knock the resolution down to 1280x800. Since a Steam Deck with equivalent specs will still cost you $549, this is a much better value: you get more features and pay less money. Steam Deck 256GB LCD Edition For Cyber Monday, Steam has discounted its base model with a 7" 1280x800 LCD display and 256GB of storage to $319.99, a 20% discount from its $400 list price. If you're pinching pennies, you won't find a less expensive gaming handheld PC. Every Steam Deck is equipped with the same processor, so the base model will still run games just as smoothly as the highest end $650 system. You can also upgrade the storage yourself with some technical know-how. Elden Ring and its spinoff, Elden Ring Nightreign, are seeing some of their biggest discounts yet, with the critically-acclaimed RPG hitting its lowest price ever. There are hundreds of games available in the Xbox Game Pass catalog, and among them are several superb games that nobody talks about; titles that often don’t get as much attention as big AAA or first-party games. For example, Ultimate members recently gained access to Winter Burrow on Xbox Game Pass, as it was a day-one release. View the full article

Workstation and other upgrades in ARC Raiders often require hard-to-get or rare loot that can only b found topside. While finding many of these items can be rather easy (as easy as tearing them from the cold, dead hands of other raiders), sometimes they end up being challenging due to low spawn chances or the sheer randomness of the game's loot system. Humidifiers, though, can often be looted from a single place, so here's everything you need to know. How to get Humidifiers in ARC Raiders Screenshot and remix by Destructoid Humidifiers are most commonly found in the Red Tower building on the Buried City map, right next to the Plaza Rosa loot zone. The lockers inside are almost guaranteed to contain one or two Humidifiers. I have had a lot of good luck finding them here. What's more, the lockers and security breaches inside also have good odds to drop other valuable items, but if it's Humidifiers you seek, you'll almost certainly find them on each of your visits to this location. If you keep getting beaten to the punch by other players, Humidifiers can also spawn in Residential areas, so checking places like the Grandiose Apartments on Buried City or Ruby Residence on Dam Battlegrounds are a good bet, though I can't say any location in the game can compete with the Red Tower when it comes to Humidifiers. Half-Life 3 is the ****** sheep of gaming. Or rather, it's the phantom of the gaming opera, phasing in and out of the collective consciousness much like the Borealis goes in and out of reality itself. However, we're going to have to make do with what we have, and this upcoming mod might just scratch that itch. Half-Life: Element 64 reimagines the original 1998 game as a boomer shooter, influenced heavily by other FPS games of the time, even more so than Half-Life 1 already was. With gameplay, movement, and shooting taken straight out of Quake, HL Element 64 is a new way to play a classic title, albeit the story itself is also significantly altered. Many fans have already dubbed it as Half-Life 0.5, inspired by other mod names like Quake 1.5 and Doom 2.5, both of which expand the original games with new and unique mechanics that fundamentally alter the overall experience, usually for the better. [Hidden Content] The amount of attention Element 64 has attracted, and the fact that it even exists, prove to me that old-school '90s shooters aren't dead by any stretch of the imagination. Yeah, we've gotten tons of "boomer shooters" over the years that are generally much more modernized both in feel and gameplay, but I'm quite surprised that a true, 1990s-style mod is gaining this much traction. It could be the prospect of Half-Life 3 that's leading Valve's fans to grasp at literally anything, or, more likely, the fact that old-school shooters are an impeccable genre. Decades of FPS games have come and gone, and we are still looking back to that golden age, trying to imitate it to the best of our abilities. It's when shooters peaked, and, as the saying goes, the more things change, the more they stay the same. The post Who needs Half-Life 3 when we’ve got boomer shooter Half-Life 0.5 on the way? appeared first on Destructoid. View the full article
