NZXT Kraken Plus 360 RGB Review: silent heat assassin NZXT Kraken Plus 360 RGB Review: silent heat assassin Why you can trust Tom’s Hardware Our expert reviewers spend hours testing and comparing products and services so you can choose the best for you. Find out more about how we test. NZXT’s Kraken line of liquid coolers dates back more than a decade. And along with its long line of PC cases, motherboards, and PSUs, the company has plenty of experience dealing with PC heat dissipation. Today, we’re looking at the company’s latest flagship AIO, the Kraken Plus 360 RGB. What sets this cooler apart from competitors is its ability to excel in two scenarios: By default, it operates stealthily, delivering essential thermal performance. Most users will prefer this mode of operation. However, for those who want to win overclocking competitions or simply just want the best possible temperatures, unlocking the fan speeds results in total thermal domination, at the cost of noise levels. Let’s take a quick look at the Kraken Plus 360 RGB’s specifications, then we’ll dive into its features and our benchmark testing. You may like (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) Cooler specifications Swipe to scroll horizontally Cooler NZXT Kraken Plus 360 RGB Colors ****** MSRP $219.99 Radiator Material Aluminum Lighting RGB Warranty 6 years Socket Compatibility Intel Socket LGA 1851/1700/1200/115x AMD AM5 / AM4 Unit Dimensions (including fans) 401 (L) x 120 (W) x 53mm (H) Maximum TDP (Our Testing) >260W with Core i7-14700K and AMD’s Ryzen 9 9950X3D Packing and included contents The packaging for the cooler is the typical cardboard, showcasing the product on the outside. (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) The main obvious difference in this unit’s design versus competitors is the inclusion of a unified fan, the F360 RGB Core. (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) This choice has the advantage of a cleaner look and simpler installation. But the downside is in the theoretical situation where one motor might fail, forcing you to replace it with a new unified fan or three separate new spinners. These fans support ARGB lighting with 8 LEDs each, controlled by NZXT’s CAM software. They’re just a little thicker than traditional fans, at 26 mm. Airflow is rated at 77 CFM per fan, with a maximum of 3.07 mm H20 static pressure per fan. Fan speeds are rated at 500-2400 RPMs, +-10%. Pre-installed thermal paste, large copper cold plate (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) The AIO arrives with pre-installed thermal paste applied to a large copper cold plate. But make sure you get the installation right on the first try, because there’s no extra paste included. 1.5-inch LCD Display On top of the CPU block is a 1.5” LCD with a 240×240 resolution. While this is useful, I’d like the screen to be larger. Most high-end AIO competitors incorporate a 2.5-inch or larger screen and 480×480 resolution (or higher) into their AIOs. (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) CAM Software To control and customize this AIO, you’ll need to download NZXT’s CAM software. By default, the AIO operates based on the temperature of its liquids. You can change this to respond to the CPU’s temperature, or another sensor, if you so desire. (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) There are a few different options for customizing the AIO’s small display. You can display up to two separate temperature sensors. (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) Alternatively, you can set the display to a clock face – or use it to play videos from YouTube. Image 1 of 2 (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) Complete RAM Compatibility, no matter the size of DDR5 As is typical with most AIO liquid coolers, NZXT’s Kraken Plus 360 RGB does not interfere or overhang RAM DIMMs, allowing for full compatibility, no matter how tall (or short) your DDR4 or DDR5 is. (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) Real world testing configuration – Intel LGA1700 and AMD AM5 platform My results may differ from others because I emphasize results that are comparable to real-world use. This means that I test CPU coolers inside a closed desktop case, which increases cooling difficulty compared to other testing methods. Many will test CPU coolers outside of a case, on an open test bench. Open benches have lowered ambient temperatures, which makes weak coolers appear stronger than they are. Some publications have also used generic thermal plates to test cooling solutions. I reject both of these methods because they don’t accurately reflect the real-world conditions where a CPU cooler is typically used. But we’re retiring this from our testing suite. Between BIOS changes and Windows updates, Arrow Lake’s thermal characteristics have changed in some scenarios, rendering much of our previous testing data useless. With today’s review, we’re also testing AMD’s Ryzen 9 9950X3D. This is a beast of a CPU, providing the best gaming and multithreaded performance on the market. It can prove quite challenging thermally when PBO is enabled for overclocking. You’ll first need to apply the included backplate if you’re using an Intel CPU. AMD users will remove the default mounting mechanism. 2. Next, you’ll need to install the standoffs against the mounting holes. (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) 3. This cooler does not need mounting bars, but has them built into the CPU block. If you’re using AMD, you’ll need to remove the default Intel brackets and replace them with the AMD supporting ones. Press the CPU block against the standoffs, and secure it with the included thumb screws. (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) 4. Next, you’ll need to connect the fan and CPU block wires, which have a few connections: PWM, SATA, and others that connect to the AIO and fans. 5. Once complete, turn on your computer. You’ll see that despite the extra cabling, the AIO has a very clean look and won’t cause the appearance of cable clutter! Dell Tech CEO expects AI ubiquity in the enterprise Dell Tech CEO expects AI ubiquity in the enterprise LAS VEGAS — Dell Technologies founder and CEO Michael Dell believes AI is the next step in how businesses and the public will interact with computing and that it will be as prevalent in daily life as the internet and the cloud are now. “We’re entering the age of ubiquitous intelligence where AI is just as important as electricity,” Dell said during Monday’s keynote at Dell Technologies World 2025. Customers spotlighted on the keynote stage and those attending the conference said AI deployments are happening quickly, but experts warned that the adoption of an evolving technology will also include new security concerns. Too many AI innovations and developments are focused on some of the most demanding data center customers building large language models (LLMs), Dell said. Instead, enterprises will need hardware and partner integrations to run AI applications on-premises at branch or edge locations, he said. These deployments will then be supported by larger, private clouds using on-premises data stores to power an enterprise’s AI apps. AI infrastructure bundling provided by the Dell AI Factory, alongside a slew of new hardware unveiled at the show, should accelerate the time to deployment for companies that aren’t selling AI outright, Dell said. “We love the companies that push our engineering and innovation to the edge, [but] for most of us, the reality is a little different,” Dell said. “AI isn’t your product.” AI for the business Lowe’s, an American hardware and home improvement retailer, uses Dell’s hardware to support AI applications for its more than 1,700 stores and 300,000 retail employees. Quick access to product or service information for store associates, regardless of their expertise or department, is the lynchpin for Lowe’s AI strategy, said Seemantini Godbole, executive vice president and chief digital and information officer at Lowe’s, during Monday’s keynote. Each store has a small deployment of Dell server hardware to support AI agents in handheld devices from Zebra Technologies. These agents enable employees to find product information and answer questions based on Lowe’s data. The AI also provides in-store alerts to notify employees if customers are seeking help. “AI is following the data,” she said. “We thought we’d do a micro data center in the back of the store.” Godbole expects to build a variety of data centers for specific use cases within the business beyond retail operations, including for engineering and executive functions, while ensuring new AI adoption matches specific needs. “We’ll have lots of different [deployment] sizes because one size doesn’t fit all,” Godbole said. “We don’t want to die a death of 1,000 pilots.” Engineering has already found a use for AI by enabling it to conduct code reviews without manager oversight, she said. The change has made the process less confrontational. “You tend to take less emotionally from a machine than a manager,” Godbole said. Optimistic feedback from early adopters like Lowe’s is inspiring other customer to follow, said Santosh Agrawal, co-founder and managing director of Esconet Technologies Ltd., an IT consulting and technology vendor in New Delhi, India. “The reality is what Michael said on stage,” Agrawal said. “Almost every customer is looking forward to creating their own private AI and has plans to use AI in their business.” The major challenge he’s found is that many buyers are at varying levels of preparedness for AI deployments. Offerings like the Dell AI Factory and other integrations presented by Dell can help his company deploy hardware for AI purposes more quickly, he said. “There are customers who have a clear vision as to what they exactly want and what models they want to use,” he said. “There are others who don’t know much about it and lean on partners like us and OEMs like Dell.” Many enterprises are adopting and implementing AI into the business at a more measured pace than the rate of LLM releases and innovation, said Mike Leone, an analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group, a division of Omdia. Dell’s approach of bundling its hardware with partner AI offerings can increase the speed to deployment, but many organizations still need to find worthwhile use cases for AI and train end-users on effective use in their roles. “The hype is moving so much faster than business [implementation],” Leone said. “A lot of organizations still haven’t made progress on generative AI and now we’re introducing agents. That complexity is driving a greater need for partners.” AI security The hype combined with customer inexperience is creating a new set of security hazards and challenges, warned Maxim Balin, senior consultant and product manager for cybersecurity edge and AIOps at Dell Technologies. Data and infrastructure for AI will present a new set of challenges for many customers, which their existing security might not be prepared for, Balin said at a Monday conference session. New attack vectors will include hackers manipulating AI agents into giving worthless responses through manipulation campaigns, he said. Another attack might come from “poisoning” the AI model’s data, introducing enough garbage or incorrect information into data sets to avoid immediate human detection but slowly ruining responses. Preventing these attacks will require new models of thinking about existing cybersecurity, such as zero trust. “I’m meeting with customers who said they’ve spent a fortune and asked why [their security investments] are not good to deal with AI,” he said. “But they’re not designed to deal with logic [attacks].” Expanding security models such as zero trust into the AI space will be a challenge for vendors, said Krista Case, an analyst at The Futurum Group. Existing identity vendors CyberArk, Okta and 1Password will need to consider the identity and role of AI agents and the intentionality behind its actions. “We’re still seeing the formulation of the best strategies for AI security,” Case said. “But how do we start to understand the intent of an AI agent and if it’s malicious or not? There isn’t a silver bullet yet.” Still, security and infrastructure teams can lay the foundation for securing AI by accepting it as a cross-departmental challenge, Balin said. “Never approach this challenge by looking into a specific area,” he said. “We need to control the entire stack. We’re only at the beginning.” Tim McCarthy is a news writer for Informa TechTarget covering cloud and data storage. Qatari PM denies jumbo jet gift to Trump is bribery Qatari PM denies jumbo jet gift to Trump is bribery U.S. President Donald Trump and Qatar’s Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani meet in Doha, Qatar, on May 14, 2025. Brian Snyder | Reuters Qatar’s prime minister on Tuesday denied accusations that Doha’s offer of an estimated-$400 million Boeing 747 jet to U.S. President Donald Trump was an attempt to curry favor with the White House administration. “I call it an exchange between two countries. And basically the relationship that we have between Qatar and the United States is a very institutional relationship,” Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani said. “The plane story is a ministry of defense to department of defense transaction, which is basically done in full transparency and very legally, and it’s part of the cooperation that we’ve been always doing together for decades.” Trump, who carried out a whirlwind tour of the Middle East stopping in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates last week, has come under fire from opposition politicians at home after Doha proposed the jet gift. Qatar also at the time agreed to order up to 210 American-made Boeing 787 Dreamliner and 777X aircraft powered by GE Aerospace engines, in what the White House has hailed as the “largest-ever” widebody and 787 orders at Boeing — a major U.S. defense contractor. Al-Thani on Tuesday stressed the gesture was a “normal thing that happens between allies” and dismissed allegations that Qatar may be seeking to “buy influence with this administration.” “It’s a two-ways relationship. It’s mutually beneficial for Qatar and for the United States. Nothing [has] been done by us under the table,” he noted. “A lot of nations has gifted the U.S. many things. I am not comparing that to the Statue of Liberty, but…” Trump said last week in a Truth Social media post that the prospective gifted plane would “temporarily” replace the 40-year-old Air Force One aircraft that typically serves the U.S. president. According to the Associated Press, he separately said the plane would later join a future presidential library foundation. Boeing is currently producing an Air Force aircraft One, which has been delayed alongside other deliveries amid the company’s supplier and parts hurdles Democrats have lambasted the Qatari offer raising broader ethical and security concerns. Under a Foreign Emoluments Clause, the U.S. Constitution says that “No Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.” Several Democrats have submitted a resolution in the House of Representatives calling on Trump to submit all plans for the jumbo jet donation to Congress in compliance with the Foreign Emoluments Clause. Qatari PM denies jumbo jet gift to Trump is bribery “The Constitution charges Congress with ensuring the President does not use the highest office in the land as a get-rich-quick scheme to pocket lavish gifts from foreign Presidents, Dictators, and Emirs. It is high time that Congress do its job,” said Rep. Jamie Raskin, Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Committee. “This is the definition of corruption,” Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., told NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday. Trump has defended the “very nice gesture” from Qatar as a contribution for the Defence Department while Boeing builds additional aircraft, rather than as a personal gift. “They’re giving us a free jet. I could say, ‘no, no, no, don’t give us, I want to pay you a billion or 400 million or whatever it is,’ or I could say, ‘thank you very much,'” he said last week, adding in a separate exchange, “I could be a stupid person and say no, we don’t want a free very expensive airplane, but … I thought it was a great gesture.” Source link #Qatari #denies #jumbo #jet #gift #Trump #bribery Pelican News View the full article at [Hidden Content]

A Sniper Elite Battle Royale Was Canceled, And Now We Know Why A Sniper Elite Battle Royale Was Canceled, And Now We Know Why Rebellion’s CEO has provided more insight into why a battle royale game in the Sniper Elite series was canceled. We first heard about the Sniper Elite battle royale last summer, but by November, reports emerged that the project was canceled after Tencent pulled funding. Rebellion, the studio behind the Sniper Elite series, never really explained why this battle royale was canceled. It was focused on promoting Sniper Elite Resistance, a single-player game that launched in January. In a new interview with The Game Business, Rebellion CEO Jason Kingsley revealed more about this project and why it was canceled. “That was a bit of a one-off. We don’t do work-for-hire. But we were very keen to learn about how Tencent worked. And Tencent were very keen to learn how we worked,” Kingsley explained. “At the end of the day, we walked away because we felt the market had shifted entirely. We still have great relationships with them. It was one of those business opportunities that didn’t get to the ultimate end that we were hoping for.” As the battle royale space is increasingly dominated by games like Fortnite, PUBG, and Apex Legends, it seems that Rebellion and Tencent just didn’t feel that a Sniper Elite battle royale could make a big enough splash this many years after the trend began. Rebellion has found success post-cancellation with the release of Atomfall in March, though. Speaking more broadly about potentially being acquired by a ******* company, Kingsley also seemed unsure. “Is anybody going to try and buy us? I don’t know. We would not be easy to buy because it would have to be something more than money. It would have to feel like it was getting involved in a *******, and better entity somehow,” he told The Game Business. For now, it looks like Rebellion will remain independent while overseeing the future of franchises like Sniper Elite and Atomfall. Sniper Elite Resistance and Atomfall are currently available on PC, PS5, and X|S, as well as the Game Pass Ultimate catalog. Trump Medicaid Congress bill Trump Medicaid Congress bill President Donald Trump on Tuesday warned House Republicans, “Don’t f— around with Medicaid,” as he pressed them during a closed-door meeting to pass a major tax bill, a source told CNBC. Trump’s blunt message came during a visit to Capitol Hill. Movement on the tax bill has been hampered by a small number of Trump’s fellow Republicans in the House of Representatives, including a group that wants cuts to the massive Medicaid health-care coverage program, which covers primarily low-income people. Medicaid, which is jointly financed by the federal government and individual states, and the smaller Children’s Health Insurance Program, cover nearly 80 million Americans. President Donald Trump arrives with Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) for a House Republican meeting at the U.S. Capitol on May 20, 2025 in Washington, DC. Kevin Dietsch | Getty Images A tracking poll in April by the health policy research group KFF found that 61% of Americans oppose major cuts to staff and spending at federal health agencies. Other lawmakers who have been stumbling blocks to passing the bill include Republicans from New York and California who want increases in the deduction for state and local taxes, and others who want cuts to the federal deficit from the bill. House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., hopes to pass the bill before the upcoming Memorial Day weekend. This is breaking news. Please refresh for updates. Stellar Blade Sequel Seemingly Confirmed By Developer Shift Up Stellar Blade Sequel Seemingly Confirmed By Developer Shift Up Ahead of the PC release of Stellar Blade, developer Shift Up has seemingly confirmed that a sequel to the game is currently in development. Shift Up had previously mentioned that a Stellar Blade sequel was under consideration, and the studio is also working on a new action-RPG codenamed Project Witches. In a recent company presentation document, a Stellar Blade sequel was highlighted. As seen on page 19 of the document (via Insider Gaming), Stellar Blade 2 and Project Witches are currently scheduled to be released before 2027. While nothing is set in stone, this is a fairly quick turnaround for a new Stellar Blade game, considering that it first launched for PS5 in 2024 and has been supported with several pieces of post-launch content since then. Shift Up is aiming to have Stellar Blade 2 out by the end of 2026. The upcoming PC release is also scheduled for June 12, but the game has been blocked from ***** on Steam in over 100 countries for an unknown reason. Details on Stellar Blade: Complete Edition were also leaked earlier this month, and we do know that this will be coming to PS5 and PC on June 11. Before the reveal video on Sony’s YouTube page was removed, the trailer revealed that this version of the game will feature a new boss battle and costumes to collect, but it’s worth noting that this content is also coming to the base game on PS5 as a free update. Retail cyber attacks hit food distributor Peter Green Chilled Retail cyber attacks hit food distributor Peter Green Chilled Peter Green Chilled, a major distributor of chilled and fresh products to British supermarkets, has reportedly fallen victim to a ransomware attack orchestrated by an as-yet unnamed cyber criminal operation, becoming the latest organisation in the British retail sector to be affected by a security incident. Established as a haulage company working with Somerset dairy suppliers 60 years ago, Peter Green has grown into a little-known but well-established player in the nation’s cold chain – temperature-controlled warehousing and transport – sector, supplying the likes of Aldi, Sainsbury’s and Tesco among others. It is also a supplier of IT services including transport and warehouse management systems (T/WMS), electronic data interchange (EDI), stock and temperature control systems, and vehicle tracking and monitoring. According to BBC Radio 5 Live’s Wake up to money programme – which was first to report the story – the attack appears to have begun on the evening of Wednesday 14 May and has left the organisation unable to accept new orders. A spokesperson for Peter Green told the programme it was not in a position to be able to discuss the incident further. However, one of the organisation’s customers, The ****** Farmer founder Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones, said that almost a week into the incident, he had been offered no solution for how Peter Green was going to get stock he had already delivered to its warehouses out to retailers. “If they’re not delivered in the next couple of days, because they’re fresh products, they have to be thrown away,” said Emmanuel-Jones. “For a small business it is pretty devastating. To make matters even worse is that we’ve just also got a delivery that’s come in from Sweden that is stuck at a port because Peter Green is not taking in any other stock from any suppliers, so we have to try to find some way of getting it to the supermarkets.” Emmanuel-Jones told the radio programme that his business could stand to lose up to £100,000, losses that would be hard for a small organisation to bear. Computer Weekly reached out to Peter Green Chilled but found its email addresses non-responsive. Link to M&S, Co-op attacks speculative Absent further information from Peter Green, at the time of writing, any links to the ongoing DragonForce/Scattered Spider incidents affecting Marks and Spencer (M&S) and Co-op are unproven and merely speculative. However, David Mound, senior penetration tester at third-party risk specialist SecurityScorecard, said the firm’s team was closely monitoring the “emerging pattern” of cyber attacks impacting food retailers. He said that in drawing other household names into the fray, the developing Peter Green incident highlighted the fragility of interconnected digital supply chains, and was creating a cascading effect throughout the retail sector. “These incidents reflect a growing trend among cyber criminal groups to exploit sectors where time sensitivity and perishability heighten pressure to restore operations, increasing the likelihood of ransom payments,” said Mound. “In food retail, even short-term disruption can lead to spoilage, logistical bottlenecks and loss of consumer trust. “Attackers are no longer just targeting data; they’re targeting urgency,” he said. “In environments where product expiration and just-in-time delivery are business-critical, threat actors understand that every hour offline amplifies the pressure to pay. “Many critical logistics and IT providers are insufficiently risk-tiered or assessed,” added Mound. “There is an urgent need for sector-wide collaboration on third-party risk intelligence and resilience standards. “SecurityScorecard urges all organisations in the food and retail sectors to re-evaluate their third-party risk posture and ensure suppliers are assessed not only for compliance, but for operational resilience under duress.” Source link #Retail #cyber #attacks #hit #food #distributor #Peter #Green #Chilled Pelican News View the full article at [Hidden Content]

Botched Post Office IT projects continue to drain public purse Botched Post Office IT projects continue to drain public purse As the government hands the Post Office £400m in public funds to replace its controversial Horizon system, details emerge of millions more wasted as a result of botched IT. The latest costs come as the Post Office agrees to pay millions of pounds in compensation to scandal victims hit by a data breach last year. Computer Weekly can also reveal that the Post Office paid IBM about £10m when it abandoned a Horizon replacement project in 2015. The Post Office scandal, which caused devastation to its victims, is costing *** taxpayers billions of pounds. But while the costs associated with financial redress and legal battles steal the headlines, the Post Office has been haemorrhaging funds in its IT department. As Computer Weekly revealed in March, the Post Office made interim compensation offers to a number of former subpostmasters affected by the major data breach. The breach was caused by human error during a project to upgrade a website, which resulted in a link to an unredacted document being put online, rather than the redacted document. The 555 members of the Justice for Subpostmasters Alliance (JFSA) who took part in the 2018/19 group litigation action had their names and addresses exposed on the website. The Post Office has confirmed it will pay the affected subpostmasters compensation. “Post Office can confirm that it has agreed to pay individuals whose names appeared in last year’s data breach either £5,000 or £3,500, depending on whether the individual was also living at the [leaked] address at that time,” said a spokesperson. “Post Office has confirmed that it will consider any special cases if any individuals consider they are entitled to further amounts.” This is yet more money wasted as a result of Post Office IT mistakes. Mounting costs Last week’s announcement that the organisation is officially seeking a supplier to replace Horizon also signalled an end to its in-house New Branch IT (NBIT) project – another failed initiative. The project was canned after a government report last year found that budgets ballooned from £180m to £1.1bn and implementation was delayed by as much as five years. During his appearance at the Post Office scandal public inquiry in October 2024, Post Office chairman Nigel Railton said the company’s decision to build the NBIT system in-house was one of two reasons the project was “set up to fail”. The delays and mistakes cost money. For example, as revealed by Computer Weekly in October last year, the Post Office was paying more than £80,000 per week for contracted IT engineers to sit idle due to major delays in the NBIT project. The Post Office also acquired hardware for NBIT, which is now being repurposed to run with the current system. NBIT was not the first costly failed attempt to replace Horizon. In 2015, a project to replace it with IBM technology was scrapped when it became too complex. IBM was paid what Computer Weekly can reveal was in the region of £10m to walk away. Much more recently, the Post Office abandoned another project at huge cost to taxpayers. Last year, Saf Ismail, subpostmaster and non-executive director at the Post Office, told the public inquiry that £35m was spent on an abandoned plan to migrate from its datacentre in Northern Ireland to the cloud. The planned cloud migration in Belfast was halted due to complexity, Ismail said in his witness statement to the inquiry. There is also a project on pause, which plans to migrate Horizon data from Fujitsu systems to the Post Office’s. The pause was implemented after the Metropolitan Police, which is currently investigating potential crimes in the Post Office scandal, put the brakes on until it was satisfied with the approach. Computer Weekly has no details of the costs related to this delay. In the meantime, the Post Office has been extending Fujitsu’s stay at the heart of its IT, with its current £40m deal set to expire in March 2026. Computer Weekly first exposed the scandal in 2009, revealing the stories of seven subpostmasters and the problems they suffered due to Horizon accounting software, which led to the most widespread miscarriage of justice in British history (see below timeline of Computer Weekly articles about the scandal since 2009). In 2010, it was reported that a Kane & ****** movie was in the works, starring Jamie Foxx as ****** and Bruce Willis as Kane. It obviously never happened. Kane & ****** was released in 2007 for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, telling the story of two mercenaries and their criminal exploits. A sequel, Kane & ******: Dog Days, came out in 2010. Both were developed by IO Interactive, which also makes the Hitman games and is now working on a James Bond project. Sudokoo shows off brand-new CPU cooler and fan designs — new kid on the block puts more displays inside PCs Sudokoo shows off brand-new CPU cooler and fan designs — new kid on the block puts more displays inside PCs One of the most exciting parts of Computex every year is finding the newcomers to the industry, displaying their endeavors to break into the mainstream. One of the newest kids on the block is Sudokoo, a Taiwanese company showing off an array of cooling products. Sudokoo displayed its range of air coolers, water-cooled AIOs, and case fans, representing nearly its entire product lineup. No release dates or prices were shown off at Computex 2025, but some products are already available for ***** via Amazon and Newegg. Air Cooling — SK620V and SK700V Sudokoo’s twin cooling towers are the SK620/V and SK700/V, two paired sets of AM5-exclusive coolers. The “V” variants feature a top-mounted LCD display, which can read out current CPU frequency, load, wattage, and temperature when connected via a USB 2.0 cable. While AIOs have made use of cooler-mounted displays for years, fewer air coolers are taking the mandate to mount screens to every PC component as seriously as Sudokoo is here. You may like Image 1 of 4 (Image credit: Future) (Image credit: Future) (Image credit: Future) (Image credit: Future) The SK700V is a single-fan tower with seven heat pipes, rated for a TDP of up to 220W. Tall and skinny, the SK700V prioritizes RAM clearance and compatibility. For cases with less height clearance, the SK620V is a dual-fan design with six heat pipes, cooling the same 220W TDP but without the freedom to use RAM modules taller than 72mm. The coolers do not use traditional fan clip mounting methods, instead opting for rail lock-based mounting designs. The fans slide into place, receiving power via contact pins on the cooler rather than a PWM plug-in. Both coolers are exclusively compatible with the AM5 socket, connecting to the motherboard with a bespoke machined mounting bracket that hugs the CPU. Whether Intel mounting brackets will come in the future is a mystery. The SK700 and SK700V are currently available on Amazon for $74.99 and $89.99, respectively, with the SK620/V not yet listed. Get Tom’s Hardware’s best news and in-depth reviews, straight to your inbox. Liquid Cooling AIOs — Proteus and Energlo Sudokoo’s AIO offerings at Computex include the Proteus 360, the Proteus 420, and the Energlo 360. The key difference between the two comes down to how you like your CPU block—bare-bones display or full 480p screen. Image 1 of 5 (Image credit: Future) (Image credit: Future) (Image credit: Future) (Image credit: Future) (Image credit: Future) Sudokoo’s flagship offerings are the Proteus 360 and 420 coolers, a pair of triple-fan AIOs seeking to show off a 3.4″ 480p LCD screen, ready to display any output. An RGB light-bar extends the length of the radiator, hugging the sides of the included 30 mm-thick PWM fans. Offering PWM pump speeds from 2,500 to 3,600 RPM, the Proteus coolers can disperse 320W and 350W of heat. The included screen is magnetically removable and rotatable, allowing for the block to be mounted in any direction with the display always remaining upright (a view of the block, sans display, can be seen in above). The AIOs come bundled with Sudokoo’s Linker Hub, an all-in-one RGB, USB, and fan hub for connecting other case components to the MasterCraft software. The other AIO on offer is the Energlo 360, available in ****** or white colorways. With its specs not as fleshed out online or in person, it seems that the Energlo is a very similar design to the Proteus in everything besides their water blocks. The same 30mm fans and 3,600 RPM max pump speed are now supplemented by an info display showing off the current temperature, load, frequency, and power draw of the CPU underneath. The Energlo also has a few ARGB zones, which can be customized to show information like temperature warnings in software. The Energlo 360 is not yet on Sudokoo’s website, but the Proteus 360 can be bought today for $259.99 on Amazon. The Proteus 420 is likewise unavailable. Case Fans and Customizability Sudokoo also displayed two models of case fans, with one featuring an interesting customizability gimmick. Image 1 of 5 (Image credit: Future) (Image credit: Future) (Image credit: Future) (Image credit: Future) (Image credit: Future) The Mach 120/140 fans are some of Sudokoo’s proudest works at Computex. Featuring “M-Winding Tech”, the Mach fans show off their magnets behind a clear center window. The fan blades are a combination of liquid crystal polymer and glass fiber for a more structurally sound blade, and one that claims to minimize vibrations. The 10-pole, 3-phase motor is paired with a hydraulic bearing “customized by Japan’s Porite Corporation”, and shown off by the clear plastic and a tiny set of white LEDs shining on the motor. Most interesting is the custom side panel design for the Mach fans. Sudokoo offers the 3D print file on its website that fits with the fans, but what we saw at Computex included canvas, pleather, and stitched designs a bit beyond the realm of 3D printing. It’s unclear from Sudokoo whether these fancier designs will be commercially available, or if the company expects buyers to break out the leather-cutting tools at home. The most mysterious offering at the Sudokoo show is the Astra fans. With no digital footprint, the fans advertise an “ISST” slow-start mode allowing 0 RPM operation and the same bespoke “M-Winding” technology. The Astra fans also advertise a reversible operation that “actively cleans itself”, a claim we’ll believe when we see. The Mach and Astra fans are both currently unavailable through online sellers, with release dates unclear. Sudokoo’s product lineup is intriguing; as a new company, it has much to prove before people buy into a luxury-priced AIO, but some of its other offerings have a chance of being hits in their own right. If Sudokoo can overcome the search engine optimization hurdle of sharing most of its name with a puzzle game, it may just make a splash in the cooling world. ‘Don't f–k around with Medicaid’: Trump moves to steamroll megabill opposition ‘Don't f–k around with Medicaid’: Trump moves to steamroll megabill opposition President Donald Trump moved Tuesday to end the quarrelling among various GOP factions and move his domestic-policy megabill toward passage, telling House Republicans behind closed doors that they need to unite immediately behind the “big, beautiful bill” their leaders have assembled. That message was delivered in equal measure to both sides of the fractious GOP conference. To conservative hard-liners who have been pushing for deeper cuts to Medicaid, Trump made crystal clear that he did not support additional slashing. “Don’t ***** around with Medicaid,” he said, according to two Republicans granted anonymity to describe the private meetings. He said he was focused on “saving” Medicaid by eliminating waste, fraud and abuse — echoing comments he made to reporters outside the meeting. Trump said in response to a question from POLITICO that the hard-liners needed to pare back their demands for deeper spending cuts: “I’m a ******* fiscal hawk,” he said. “There’s nobody like me.” He also took aim at the SALT Republicans — the mostly blue-state members who are pushing for a higher cap on the state-and-local-tax deduction. Trump campaigned last year on the issue. But entering the Capitol on Tuesday, he said the tax break mainly served to benefit blue-state governors and said the group of holdouts needed to accept the deal to modestly increase the existing $10,000 cap on the deduction. He said much the same inside the closed-door meeting, telling the SALT holdouts should “leave it alone” and take the offer on the table. Trump’s Capitol Hill visit comes less than 24 hours before Speaker Mike Johnson wants to House Rules Committee to meet and finalize the bill for a floor vote, which could take place as soon as Wednesday. Households have ‘no wiggle room’ amid inflation: Meredith Whitney Households have ‘no wiggle room’ amid inflation: Meredith Whitney 00:00 Speaker A The most hard economic data showing the US economy, it’s been holding steady, a signal that’s at odds with how Americans may be actually feeling. University of Michigan consumer sentiment hitting the second lowest level on record in May, even as inflation continues to cool and the unemployment rate hovers near a historic low. Joining us now to dive into that disconnect, Meredith Whitney, Meredith Whitney advisor groups, CEO, Meredith, great to have you here. In a recent note, you wrote that over half of US households are barely holding on and yet at the same time we have the employment data holding up, the so-called hard data holding up. Uh to what extent do you think that there could be a risk out there that is similar to that 2008 housing market ****** that you predicted? 01:29 Meredith Whitney I don’t think there’s a risk of a there’s clearly no risk of a housing market ******. Um consumer households or households are as unleverage as they’ve been in 40 years. Um so leverage is the lowest it’s been in in 40 years. Um but I think if you dig down into how consumers and households are really doing, um over 50% of households um have already been through the their first recession. um that was two years ago. Um and I think they’re going into uh their second recession in two in three years. Um so 52 plus percent of households are living paycheck to paycheck. Um and they’ve really been squeezed by the cumulative inflation of um of higher food prices, higher um insurance costs, higher you know, costs across the board. Um and when you look at these households, uh a great number of these households are employed in the sectors that are have been under the most pressure. So clearly aggregate spending has slowed, um definitely in travel, leisure, um and hospitality and in retail. And I think that’s where you’re going to see pressure in terms of um uh job losses. But I think you’ll also see um uh pressure in general from uh a clear and the these households have no wiggle room in terms of inflation and I see inflation across the board. So let’s talk about what Walmart said last week, which was um that you know, they tried to maintain prices on grocery, um but they’d put price uh uh increase prices um in other areas of the market. I think grocery prices are going to go up again. So one thing that has not been discussed uh broadly at all is um uh uh immigration and ice rates. And recently a private equity company said that they see cracks in the economy because um uh workers are not showing up work for fear of ice raids. So there’ve been ice rates across the board at uh areas at you know, workplace areas. um and when employees don’t show up to work, um revenues suffer because in the instance of uh quick service restaurants there’s no one to man the kitchens. Um so I think you’re going to see uh uh uh pressure revenue pressure in their those areas, they’ll cut uh they’ll cut jobs um just to maintain um uh profitability. Um and then you’ll see more consumer squeezed. 07:35 Speaker A Right. Game Pass Release Atomfall Was “Immediately Profitable” – Report Game Pass Release Atomfall Was “Immediately Profitable” – Report Developer Rebellion’s newest game, the survival FPS Atomfall, was a big success right away, it appears. The Game Business reports that the day-one Game Pass launch was “immediately profitable” and that Rebellion is now working on DLC for the game and considering a possible sequel or spin-off. No sales numbers for Atomfall have been announced, but the game reached 1.5 million players right out of the gate, later climbing to 2 million. This amounted to Rebellion’s “most successful launch” for any of its games going back 30+ years. The developer has not said how many copies the game has sold, however. In addition to being available for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers on Xbox and PC, the game can be purchased outright for $60. It’s also available on PS5. Rebellion has said that launching Atomfall into Game Pass on day one might have led to lost sales, but the company received a payment from Microsoft that helped mitigate this. The post-apocalyptic survival game was inspired by the real-world Windscale nuclear incident in the 1950s. The game has been referred to by some as “British Fallout.” GameSpot’s Atomfall review scored the game a 7/10. Reviewer Mark Delaney wrote, “Atomfall is a good game that sometimes gets in its own way, but it’s the process of finding your unique path through its story that will stick with you after the dust settles.” Atomfall was not Rebellion’s only release so far in 2025, as the company also debuted Sniper Elite: Resistance this year, and it was also available at launch on Game Pass. Wall Street’s Favorite Gap-Up Setup Just Flashed Again Wall Street’s Favorite Gap-Up Setup Just Flashed Again This Chart Says Stocks Could Hit All-Time Highs Despite ongoing concerns about , labor market stability, and consumer spending, stocks have erased their early 2025 losses and are now up for the year. While many fear for a slowdown, one specific chart from suggests we could be heading for new all-time highs—and soon. The Weekly Gap-Up That Changes Everything I found this very informative chart from Jake Wujastyk, who points out a unique market phenomenon: the weekly gap-up. For those unfamiliar, a gap-up occurs when the opening price of a new trading week is significantly higher than the previous week’s close, leaving a “gap” on the chart. What makes this particularly interesting is what happens next. Since 2018, there have been eight significant weekly gap-ups. Seven of these have already played out, and the results are undeniable: All seven previous weekly gap-ups led to new all-time highs (New ATH) before the gap was ever filled. The market didn’t just rally—it continued upward to set new records before any meaningful pullback occurred. The eighth gap-up just occurred and it hasn’t filled yet. If history is any guide, this suggests that we are on track for another run to all-time highs, potentially before any substantial correction. Why This Time Could Be No Different Skeptics will argue that economic headwinds are too strong this time. But the truth is, markets often operate on a different wavelength than economic data. Market sentiment, liquidity, and technical signals frequently drive prices beyond what fundamentals would suggest. Wujastyk’s chart is a testament to how momentum and liquidity can override bearish narratives. The consistency of this gap-up phenomenon is what makes it so compelling. In each of the seven prior instances, there was ample reason to doubt the rally: trade wars, , political turmoil, and even a pandemic. Yet, the market climbed higher. The May 2025 gap-up marks the eighth occurrence, and unless something fundamentally disrupts the cycle, it sets the stage for new highs—potentially as early as late June. A Historic Setup Worth Watching The chart tells a story of momentum that defies the typical doom-and-gloom expectations. While many are bracing for a downturn, this weekly gap-up setup suggests otherwise. The critical factor to watch is whether the gap fills. If it doesn’t, it would reinforce the weekly gap-up’s 100% accuracy rate. Traders and investors alike should keep a close watch on this gap because, as history suggests, ignoring it could mean missing out on a massive technical signal. *** suspends trade talks with Israel over new Gaza offensive *** suspends trade talks with Israel over new Gaza offensive People gather in the yard of the Ahli Arab hospital, also known as the ******** hospital, to mourn and bid farewell to the bodies of victims killed in Israeli bombardment in Gaza City, on March 18, 2025. Majdi Fathi | Nurphoto | Getty Images Britain on Tuesday paused free trade talks with Israel, summoned its ambassador, and announced further sanctions against West Bank settlers after Prime Minister Keir Starmer said he was horrified by the military escalation in Gaza. The Israeli military announced the start of a new operation last week and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said Israel would take control of the whole of Gaza. Israel has blocked the entry of medical, food and fuel supplies into Gaza since the start of March and international experts have warned of looming famine. Foreign minister David Lammy said the offensive was not the way to bring remaining hostages home, called for Israel to end the blockade of aid and condemned what he called “extremism” in some sections of Israel’s government. “We cannot stand by in the face of this new deterioration. It is incompatible with the principles that underpin our bilateral relationship,” Lammy told lawmakers. “Frankly, it’s an affront to the values of the British people. Therefore, today, I’m announcing that we have suspended negotiations with this Israeli government on a new free trade agreement.” Britain, in a joint statement with France and Canada on Monday condemned the expansion of Israel’s military operations in Gaza and called for restrictions on aid to be lifted. The trio said they would take “further concrete actions” should Israel’s fresh offensive not cease. “I want to put on record today that we’re horrified by the escalation from Israel,” Starmer told parliament earlier on Tuesday. “We repeat our demand for a ceasefire as the only way to free the hostages, we repeat our opposition to settlements in the West Bank, and we repeat our demand to massively scale up humanitarian assistance into Gaza.” Britain also sanctioned a number of individuals and groups in the West Bank who it said had been linked with acts of violence against Palestinians. The move comes after Britain imposed sanctions on a number of settlers and settler organisations in 2024, targeting individuals and groups which it said had sponsored violence against ************ communities in the West Bank. Most countries deem Jewish settlements built on land Israel occupied in a 1967 Middle East war as ********, and their expansion has for decades been among the most contentious issues between Israel, the Palestinians and the international community. “We are demonstrating again that we will continue to act against those who are carrying out heinous abuses of human rights,” Lammy said. Israel’s ground and air war has devastated Gaza, displacing nearly all its 2.3 million residents and killing more than 53,000, according to Gaza health authorities. Netanyahu has said his country was engaged in a “war of civilization over barbarism” and vowed it would “continue to defend itself by just means until total victory.” Source link #suspends #trade #talks #Israel #Gaza #offensive Pelican News View the full article at [Hidden Content]

England to introduce minimum fitness standards under coach Charlotte Edwards England to introduce minimum fitness standards under coach Charlotte Edwards After England’s early exit from the T20 World Cup in October, former spinner Alex Hartley said some players were “letting the team down” in terms of fitness. Athleticism again came into focus during the Ashes, but coach Jon Lewis attributed that to a cultural difference between the *** and Australia. He and captain Heather Knight were sacked after the Ashes defeat. Edwards, who captained England more than 200 times, oversaw fitness testing of the players in her first week in the role. While there were expectations and standards under previous regimes, there was no specific benchmarks players had to hit to be selected. “Clearly we had to touch on the fitness issue,” Edwards added. “When I came in I said it was all about individual improvement. “Before the World Cup [in India in September] it is about individuals improving as much as they can in that time. “I am not going to set fitness standards 1747751796 because there haven’t been any standards in place so I felt I was defeating the object.” England’s men have had minimum standards in the past but their approach has become more relaxed under captain Ben Stokes and coach Brendon McCullum. Elsewhere in the women’s game, South Africa dropped captain Dane van Niekerk for a home T20 World Cup in 2023 after she failed to meet the required time in the two kilometre run but have since relaxed their rules. Edwards also said she is in “constant communication” with spinner Sophie Ecclestone, who was left out of the squad to play West Indies as she recovers from injury. Ecclestone, who refused a TV interview with former team-mate Hartley during the Ashes, has featured in three matches for Lancashire in the past week, having not played for two months following the Women’s Premier League. “I have had lots of communication with Soph,” Edwards said. “I went up to see her. “When the squad was selected she hadn’t played a game of cricket. “Between us both we felt the best preparation for the summer was to go back play for Lancashire and get some cricket under her belt.” The first of three T20s on Wednesday, which are followed by three one-day internationals from 30 May, are also England’s first under captain Nat Sciver-Brunt. In a bid to develop more leaders in the squad, Edwards said England will appoint a leadership group for each series rather than one permanent vice-captain with wicketkeeper Amy Jones, all-rounder Charlie Dean and batter Sophia Dunkley in the role for the Windies T20s. Cooler Master unveils new pre-built PC with a 360 x 360mm radiator, new QUBE 500, and more Cooler Master unveils new pre-built PC with a 360 x 360mm radiator, new QUBE 500, and more Cooler Master, one of the leading PC case and cooling solutions providers, is featuring several products at Computex 2025. Tom’s Hardware visited the company’s headquarters in Taiwan to see what it has to offer to PC enthusiasts this year, and we’ve seen several new and interesting offerings that caught our attention. These include new MasterFan models, the budget-friendly QUBE 500 Core, the panoramic MasterFrame 360, and the Cooling X Pro that features dual CPU and GPU AIO cooling loops. We’re jumping right onto one of the more premium offerings of the company — the Cooling X Pro. This is a pre-built desktop PC that has a massive 360 x 360 mm radiator that is used to cool both the CPU and GPU. Four 180 mm fans are mounted on this massive fin stack, allowing it to stay cool without making a racket. Cooler Master also put performance gauges right on the case, allowing you to see how hot (or how cool) the PC is running. (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) The spec list shows that the Cooling X Pro is powered by an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X mounted on an MSI X870E motherboard and paired with G.Skill Trident Z non-RGB memory sticks. It also has an RTX 5090 Waterblock GPU with a 1250-watt power supply. You may like Those who prefer building their own PCs would love the MasterFrame 360 Panoramic, which features glass on three sides of the case. The sample on display at Cooler Master’s headquarters shows a liquid-cooled setup with custom hardline tubing. The glass walls of the case come in three pieces, with the front piece featuring curved sides to give you the illusion of a seamless cover. Image 1 of 2 (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) This is the perfect PC case for those who are meticulous at assembling their components, turning a machine into a work of art. But if that’s not your thing, the MasterFrame’s modular ethos means that you can change the build any way you like. For example, Cooler Master also showed off an AK Mods X Bounce version that has an LED screen and an action figure highlighted by a couple of small spotlights. (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) But if you’re more of a budget builder (or don’t want to spend too much on a case you’ll keep under your desk), the company is also bringing the QUBE 500 Core, which is the most affordable version of its QUBE 500 lineup. Despite being relatively small, it has enough internal space to take on a standard ATX motherboard. It’s also fully modular, allowing you to build it as you like — either with official Cooler Master accessories or by printing your own, which you can find on Printables.com. (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) Finally, Cooler Master is adding a chunkier case fan with the MasterFan XT Series. These fans will feature much thicker 30 mm aluminum frames, increasing airflow and static pressure without added fan noise. It also comes in three versions — the base XT, the XT Pro, which features a metal frame, and the flagship XT AL, which uses a fully aluminum frame and blades for the ultimate durability. This shift in sentiment is starting to show up across many healthcare securities — including the Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLV) , Humana (HUM) , Eli Lilly (LLY) , Merck (MRK) , AbbVie (ABBV) and others. While I could’ve chosen UnitedHealth for this trade, the stock is currently surrounded by controversies and analyst downgrades. So instead, I’ve decided to focus on Humana, which offers a cleaner set-up with fewer headline risks. For this trade, I’m relying on three technical indicators to build a directional bias. MACD (5,13,5) – Since the standard MACD is a lagging indicator, I’ve discussed using a short-term or “faster” MACD in past articles to help generate earlier entry signals. A bullish MACD crossover — where the MACD line crosses above the signal line — can act as a cue to start building positions sooner. That said, a faster MACD is more sensitive to price movements and can produce more noise, making trade management even more important. A good rule of thumb is to exit if the MACD crosses back below the signal line, which may indicate momentum is fading. In HUM’s case, we saw a bullish MACD crossover on May — giving us an early signal to consider entering the trade. RSI (Relative Strength Index): This move was further validated by the RSI, which bounced off oversold territory on 5/15 and has been climbing sharply since. DMI (Directional Movement Index): The DMI consists of three components: DI+ (green line), DI- (red line), and ADX (blue line). When the DI- is above the DI+, it typically signals a downtrend. But when these lines begin to shift direction, it often hints at a potential trend reversal. In HUM’s case, both the DI- and DI+ have started to turn, offering an early signal that a trend change may be underway. As broader markets rebound sharply from the recent tariff-driven correction, we’re approaching a zone where resistance could start to kick in. This makes it an ideal time to consider rotating into more defensive sectors like Health Care or Consumer Staples — a smart way to balance your portfolio while locking in some protection. The Trade set-up I’m looking to take advantage of a potential upside move in HUM using a bull call spread. With the stock currently near $247, the trade involves going long the $245 call (in-the-money) and simultaneously selling the $250 call (out-of-the-money) to complete the spread. If HUM finishes at or above $250 by the June 13th expiration, the trade would deliver a full 100% return on the amount risked. This setup provides a balanced way to play the upside while keeping risk tightly controlled and clearly defined. Here is my exact trade setup: Buy $245 call, June 13th expiry Sell $250 call, June 13th expiry Cost: $250 Potential Profit: $250 You’ll find many more setups like this — broken down step-by-step — in my book Mean Reversion Trading .
