  1. The Alienware Aurora R16, our ‘best gaming PC,’ is on ***** from Dell The Alienware Aurora R16, our ‘best gaming PC,’ is on ***** from Dell Are you planning to upgrade your gaming PC? You may want to check out Alienware deals, especially this one: a $210 discount from Dell for this particular configuration of the Alienware Aurora R16 that usually sells for $2,210, bringing it down to $2,000. You’re never going to regret going for this gaming desktop, especially since the savings are a huge bonus, but you’re going to have to be quick with your purchase because there’s a chance that the stocks up for ***** will run out soon. Why you should buy the Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC It’s no secret that we’re very impressed by the Alienware Aurora R16 — we gave it a rating of 4 out of 5 stars in our review, and we’ve placed it at the top of our list of the best gaming PCs. It appears to be expensive even after the current discount, but it’s actually competitively priced with what you’re getting with your purchase. It’s equipped with the 14th-generation Intel Core i7 processor, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Super graphics card, and 32GB of RAM that’s the maximum recommendation by our guide on how to buy a gaming desktop. With these specifications, not only can you play the best PC games at their highest settings, but you’ll also be ready for the upcoming PC games of the next few years. With a 2TB SSD, you’ll have enough space to install several AAA titles, and with Windows 11 Pro pre-loaded, you can actually start doing so right after you hook up the gaming PC to the necessary peripherals. The gaming desktop keeps cool and quiet while you’re playing with its liquid-cooling system, and it’s smaller than previous generations so it will take up less space on your desk, meaning you can get that ******* gaming monitor that you’ve wanted. Dell is a fantastic source of gaming PC deals, especially if you’ve got your eyes on the Alienware brand. We highly recommend going for the Alienware Aurora R16, as there’s $210 in savings up for grabs for this model with an original price of $2,210, so you’ll only have to pay $2,000. It’s still not what you’d call affordable, but it’s actually a steal price when you consider the power that this gaming desktop packs. Hurry and complete your transaction for the Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC, as it would be a shame to miss out on the discount. 2. RBA interest rates: AMP reckons slowing wages suggest jobs market may have cooled RBA interest rates: AMP reckons slowing wages suggest jobs market may have cooled Aussie wage growth slowed to 3.2 per cent in the year to December as economists battle over the chances of another interest rate cut by the Reserve Bank. The pace was down from 3.6 per cent growth for September, and below economist expectations. It came as Judo Bank chief economist Warren Hogan tipped the Reserve Bank will cut interest rates again in April. Mr Hogan had been among the strongest advocates to keep the cash rate elevated to fight inflation but warned the RBA was responding to widespread pressure. “We expect to see a possible follow-up and final rate cut at the next board meeting on April Fool’s Day,” he said. “The RBA cannot simply cut rates once prior to an election as this will look politically motivated. “Another rate cut will make this change to interest rates look more like a traditional policy adjustment reflecting economic conditions.” Mr Hogan said a campaign by unions, some academics and financial markets had pressed the central bank to act. “The RBA board was clearly concerned that to hold rates steady yesterday would risk widespread criticism that it is ‘smashing the economy’,” he said. Governor Michele Bullock’s board lowered the benchmark interest rate by 0.25 percentage points to 4.1 per cent on Tuesday but she warned “we cannot declare victory just yet”. Markets were too optimistic about the pathway for future cuts, she said. Yet investors overnight priced in a 79 per cent chance of an April relief, despite the tough talking from Ms Bullock. UBS and Bank of America on Wednesday picked May for the next cut. Slowing wages add to the case that price pressure has been squeezed from the economy — despite low unemployment suggesting the jobs market is still hot. The pace of wage growth was below expectations and the lowest since mid-2022. The RBA had on Tuesday projected 3.2 per cent wage growth in 2024 but expected that would accelerate to 3.4 per cent by June. “Wages growth has declined quickly from its peak, driven by slowing employment markets’ conditions throughout 2023-24 and is clear evidence of the labour market not as red hot as previously feared, despite a low unemployment rate,” AMP’s My Bui said. “Slowing wages growth does not mean doom and gloom for wage earners though, because inflation has continued to tick down, and real wages growth continues to be positive.” Positive real wage growth means worker pay is rising faster than inflation. Ms Bui said wages would still have a long way to go to catch up to the overall surge in cost of living since 2020. EY senior economist Paula Gadsby said the numbers would give the RBA comfort that wages were not stoking inflation. It was an indicator inflation was moving sustainably back into the 2 to 3 per cent target band, Ms Gadsby said. “But productivity growth has not picked up and will need to improve to ensure this level of wage increases does not renew inflationary pressures.“ Source link #RBA #interest #rates #AMP #reckons #slowing #wages #suggest #jobs #market #cooled Pelican News View the full article at [Hidden Content]

The Alienware x16 R2 gaming laptop with RTX 4070 is $845 off The Alienware x16 R2 gaming laptop with RTX 4070 is $845 off The gaming laptops that are worth buying fetch high prices, but that also means there’s a chance for huge discounts from gaming laptop deals. Here’s a great example: the Alienware x16 R2 with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card at $845 off from Dell, slashing its price from $2,945 to $2,100. It’s still fairly expensive, but that’s actually excellent value for a device of this caliber. Why you should buy the Alienware x16 R2 gaming laptop The Alienware x16 R2 is a gaming laptop that will let you play the best PC games at their most demanding settings, while also setting you up for the upcoming PC games of the next several years. Along with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card, it’s powered by the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor and 32GB of RAM that’s the sweet spot for high-end gamers, according to our guide on how much RAM do you need. It comes with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed in its 2TB SSD, while its 16-inch screen offers Full HD+ resolution, a 480Hz refresh rate, and support for Nvidia’s G-Sync to give justice to the machine’s capabilities. Alienware has two 16-inch options for its gaming laptops, and in our comparison of the Alienware x16 R2 versus Alienware m16 R2, we recommended going for the Alienware x16 R2 for its premium design with top-of-the-line materials like anodized aluminum, magnesium alloy, and stainless steel in the full-metal chassis, which improve durability without increasing weight. With Dell’s discount, it’s a no-brainer — go for the Alienware x16 R2. There’s always high demand for Alienware deals because of the brand’s growing popularity among gamers, so we think this offer for the Alienware x16 R2 gaming laptop will sell out quickly. This particular configuration with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card, which is originally sold for $2,945, is down to $2,100 following an $845 discount from Dell. 4. ChromeOS 133 features teased ahead of update ChromeOS 133 features teased ahead of update Table of Contents Table of Contents Bounce Keys settings Super Resolution for Bluetooth mics Screencast additional language support Additions to the ChromeOS welcome tour ChromeOS 133 is set to be available soon, but the chromeOS.dev team has already published notes for the upcoming operating system that runs on popular Chromebook netbooks. The ChromeUnboxed team suggests that the notes coincide with a Tuesday rollout for the next system update; however, the software has not yet landed. Each ChromeOS drop includes its own unique features and fixes. By the time ChromeOS 133 arrives, users will get a detailed look at each previewed feature and more; however, the notes are a sneak peek at what can be expected from the update. The chromeOS.dev team highlighted some of the new aspects coming to the system. Bounce Keys settings ChromeOS 133 includes a new accessibility feature called Bounce Keys, which is intended to assist users with limited dexterity or tremors to navigate a keyboard. When enabled, Bounce Keys will ignore repeated keystrokes pressed in succession, making for a smoother typing experience with fewer unintended characters pressed. The feature allows for the time delay to be adjusted, from a short key to long key. Super Resolution for Bluetooth mics The update brings a toggle to the audio settings page that will enable a feature called “Bluetooth Super Resolution.” This feature will allow you to improve the audio quality of Bluetooth-connected microphone devices, by upscaling low-res audio sound quality to hi-res. ChromeUnboxed noted this feature will have to be tested in real-time to see how well it works. Screencast additional language support Screencast is an interesting feature in ChromeOS that allows you to record your screen and use your front camera for creating presentations, which you can live stream the cloud-based platform on Chromebooks. In addition to various built-in transcription tools for replays, the coming ChromeOS 133 update will add support for over 50 languages. You can access Screencast through the Launcher icon on a Chromebook and then search for Screencast. Additions to the ChromeOS welcome tour The new ChromeOS includes an updated, interactive, Welcome Tour that launches right after device setup, giving users a rundown of the basics of Chromebook and what they need to know to use their new device optimally. Luckily, with the notes available, it should be only a matter of time before ChromeOS 133 drops. With the update being a monthly series, it won’t be long before we’re expecting notes for the next ChromeOS sequence. 5. Elon Musk’s DOGE sends a chill through housing market Elon Musk’s DOGE sends a chill through housing market Photo: Bloomberg (Getty Images) The Trump administration is planning to lay off at least 40% of the Federal Housing Administration’s (FHA) workers, according to a Bloomberg report. The FHA is just the latest target of the Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). The FHA provides mortgage insurance on loans for people who otherwise wouldn’t qualify for one because of low credit scores or insufficient income. The cuts could have ripple effects for homebuyers hoping to jump into an already soft real estate market, according to experts. Levi Rodgers, owner of the VA Loan Network, which specializes in loans for veterans, thinks the purge could put a chill on an already frosty market. Interest rates hovering near 7 percent in recent months have dampened demand among buyers. “Layoffs of this scale could trigger automatic processing delays, and FHA closing times and applications could take longer,” Rodgers says. Conventional loans could benefit because sellers could begin choosing conventional financing for its faster turnaround. But a hollowed-out FHA could impact marginal borrowers the most, Rodgers says. “With fewer underwriters, more stringent lending requirements also are on the table, and marginal-qualified consumers could be required to have higher credit ratings or more savings for approval,” Rodgers says. In addition to impacting marginal borrowers, Rodgers says, newer FHA products such as down payment subsidies or simplified refinancing could take more time to implement, leaving some future homeowners with more costly alternatives. “This staff reduction brings a degree of uncertainty into the mix and could complicate securing FHA-backed financing for those relying on the program,” Rodgers says. Luke Siegel, founder and CEO of residential door company Raydoor, fears the impact on demand will be significant. “I could see these delays heavily impacting demand, specifically for entry-level homes,” Siegel says, adding that if FHA loans take longer to process or become more difficult to obtain, many buyers are going to be forced to explore alternative financing. “On top of that, sellers relying on FHA-backed buyers may face prolonged closing timelines, potentially leading to pricing adjustments or increased competition from buyers with conventional financing,” Siegel says, noting that it’s too early to assess the full impact. “Homebuyers should absolutely be prepared for slowdowns in the process and I would recommend them to work closely with lenders to explore financing options,” Siegel says. 6. Kuhnemann undergoes ICC testing, awaits fate on action Kuhnemann undergoes ICC testing, awaits fate on action Matt Kuhnemann is expected to learn his fate by the end of next week, after being put through intensive tests on his bowling action in Brisbane over the weekend. Just a week after being reported during Australia’s 2-0 Test series win in Sri Lanka, AAP has been told Kuhnemann has now completed tests on his suspect action. The 28-year-old was put through his paces during a session that lasted more than one hour in Brisbane, asked to bowl at a similar speed and with similar revolutions to what he did in Galle. International Cricket Council (ICC) experts watched on, with Kuhnemann wearing markers on his body and being surrounded by several high-speed cameras, and a 3D motion analysis system. The results of those tests will be assessed over the next week, before a determination is made by the ICC on Kuhnemann’s action. If he is found to extend his elbow by more than 15 degrees on his stock ball, Kuhnemann will be banned from bowling until he can prove he has remedied the issue. Otherwise, the spinner will be cleared to continue bowling for Tasmania in the Sheffield Shield and be available for Australia’s tour of West Indies in June. The 28-year-old is said to be dealing well with the situation, and confident he will be cleared. The ICC also has the power to determine if a bowler’s action is only problematic on certain types of deliveries. In that case, a player would be able to continue bowling in matches without those variations until cleared. Australia’s players are no stranger to biomechanical testing, with high performance staff often using the same facilities to help streamline or improve the bowling actions of quicks. Kuhnemann’s test came as he was put on ice for Tasmania’s Shield clash with South Australia this week, still battling the thumb injury he suffered in the BBL. He was, however, still able to get through the ICC testing given the injury is on his non-bowling hand. Kuhnemann also played through the pain to be the leading wicket-taker of the Warne-Muralidaran Trophy with 16 scalps at 17.18 in the two Tests in Sri Lanka. It was after the second Test that Kuhnemann was told his action had been reported, for the first time in eight years of professional cricket. Australia’s players have backed Kuhnemann in the bid to have his action cleared, with stand-in captain Steve Smith expecting him to have no issue. “It’s come as a bit of a surprise to me,” Smith, who captained Australia against Sri Lanka, said last Friday. “He has been playing for eight years in professional cricket and nothing has been said in that amount of time. “I am thinking of him, at present, he has to go through the process. “We’re confident he will pass. He will go through that process back home, we wish him all the best.” Source link #Kuhnemann #undergoes #ICC #testing #awaits #fate #action Pelican News View the full article at [Hidden Content] For verified travel tips and real support, visit: [Hidden Content]
  7. This 23-Year-Old Man’s Pro-Abortion Argument Has Gained Millions Of People’s Attention — And They’re Saying It’s Unlike Anything They’ve Ever Heard This 23-Year-Old Man’s Pro-Abortion Argument Has Gained Millions Of People’s Attention — And They’re Saying It’s Unlike Anything They’ve Ever Heard John Jameson (@notjohnjay), a 23-year-old from Nashville, Tennessee, has recently gone viral for a TikTok where he details a pro-abortion rights argument that many are calling “excellent” and have “never heard before.” The video has been viewed nearly 6 million times, accumulating almost 1.5 million likes. TikTok: @notjohnjay / Via tiktok.com John begins the TikTok with: “If my mom was pregnant with me today, like, let’s assume in 2024 in Tennessee — a state with one of the most restrictive abortion laws in the country — she could not get an abortion, right? In the eyes of the Tennessee government, her bodily autonomy means jack ***** because they believe in the ‘life of the fetus’ and that life begins at conception, and that aborting that fetus would be committing *******, right?” Person with curly hair wearing a plaid shirt over a graphic tee speaks in a cozy room with framed photos on the wall “So, let’s say she gives birth to me,” John continues, “and then 20 years later, I go into kidney failure, and I require a kidney transplant to survive, and my mother is the only viable match on the planet.” In this hypothetical circumstance, the TikToker then explains how the bodily autonomy of his mother is recognized as a crucial freedom and essential liberty, as there is no law, federal or state, where one is compelled to give their organ — in this case, a kidney — to guarantee the survival of their child. Person with curly hair wearing a layered plaid shirt over a graphic tee indoors “My mother could die,” John points out in the video, “and we could still not harvest the kidney from her corpse to give to me. So, even as a corpse, her bodily autonomy is held in such high regard that they would rather let me die than infringe on that freedom.” A person with curly hair wearing a plaid shirt over a graphic tee talks while gesturing with hands, indoors Concluding his argument, the 23-year-old calls out “pro-lifers” and those who claim “abortion is *******,” emphasizing that the “pro-life” movement is disingenuous since bodily autonomy appears to be widely respected in every other context except when it comes to abortion. Or, as John says, “Except in the context that allows them the most control over a woman’s body.” Person with curly hair wearing a plaid jacket over a graphic t-shirt, speaking expressively indoors The now-viral TikTok has received over 12,000 comments, many from people saying it’s their first time hearing this pro-abortion rights point being made. One commenter said: “The people that need to hear this won’t. Such an excellent argument.” Three social media comments praise an argument for its originality and consciousness, with reactions counting 5.3k, 68k, and 39.3k Other TikTok users added to John’s explanation, with one nurse revealing that many family members choose not to donate lifesaving organs. Another TikTok said: “In one of my college courses the professor pointed out that we have more bodily autonomy in death than we do while we’re alive and it’s something I think about often.” Two social media comments discussing organ donation challenges and bodily autonomy in death Meanwhile, another commenter pointed out what the potential impact of this pro-abortion rights argument being voiced by a man could be: “Knowing you’re not talking to me, but appreciate you for breaking this down in the simplest form from a man’s voice that might change a few minds.” Text screenshot of a comment appreciating simplified explanation from a man’s perspective, with 5,270 likes Though John has been vocal about his political beliefs online in the past — typically in the form of jokes or satire — he told BuzzFeed that he created the video ahead of the (short-lived) TikTok ban in the US, saying he figured to speak his mind. Additionally, as Donald Trump was about to officially hold office again at the time, John noted that he wanted to speak on an issue that meant a lot to him, especially since he believes America is moving in an alt-right direction. People at a rally holding signs, including one that reads, “Girls just wanna have fundamental rights.” Crowd is diverse and bundled up for cold weather But make no mistake: John does not take absolute credit for the pro-abortion rights argument he articulated in his TikTok. “I’ve had a lot of very intelligent peers and family members who have shared their wisdom with me, and I’ve also seen a lot of good points being made online, so it’s really an amalgamation of those influences,” he explained to BuzzFeed. “I doubt this is the first time that this point has been made. I would say that the argument is not mine. I just voiced it in a way that made a lot of sense to me.” Person in a white shirt smiles while seated among large blooming flowers in a garden setting Even so, with the rise of young men leaning more toward the far-right, John told BuzzFeed that young men could benefit more from forming friendships with those who are different than them, particularly women and those in the LGBTQ+ community. “Alt-right propaganda revolves around seeing trans people, women, or immigrants as a scary monolithic threat to America, but they’re almost always just chill folks who have the same problems you do,” he advised. “Conservatives benefit from you hating your neighbor, but you have more in common with marginalized groups than any conservative talking head.” A diverse group of people forming a supportive circle with hands stacked together, showcasing teamwork and unity As for John himself, he’s aware that it’s less about his voice being heard, and more about the voices of the people being attacked that he can amplify. “Marginalized communities have been vocal about oppression for years,” he explained to BuzzFeed. “I’m just hoping I can help them spread their messages.” For more content from John, you can follow him on TikTok. 9. ‘Manipulative’ man jailed for targeting underage girls ‘Manipulative’ man jailed for targeting underage girls A man who paid underage girls to send him child abuse material has been jailed for his “unsophisticated but manipulative” offending. Jacob Charles Keele, 22, will spend 15 months behind bars before he is released back into the community on a two-year recognisance order. His family cried and consoled each other as he was sentenced in the Victorian County Court on Wednesday. Keele was aged 18 when he began messaging teenage girls on Snapchat and offering payment for explicit photos and videos. Over the course of two years, Keele sought out 10 victims aged between 14 and 17, and accumulated 116 images and 103 videos. Keele at times threatened to release the child abuse material if his victims did not send him more photos and videos. Judge Fiona Todd noted Keele had used his real name on his Snapchat account, as well as his legitimate bank account for the dozens of payments. “Your offending was a curious mix of unsophisticated but very persistent and manipulative,” the judge said in sentencing. Judge Todd accepted Keele had experienced social isolation and bullying at school due to his obesity and impairments with hearing and vision. He turned towards online ************ and then paid for adult content when he was seeking more of a connection, but that became too expensive. Keele instead moved to Snapchat where young girls were more “obliging” and likely to cost less, the judge noted. She accepted a psychologist’s findings that Keele did not have a paraphilic disorder, instead he had the misguided belief he was in the same cohort as the teenage girls. Keele’s prospects of rehabilitation were good and his time in jail would be difficult but it was important to deter his crimes to the community, Judge Todd said. She sentenced Keele to 33 months’ jail, but he will be released on a recognisance release order after 15 months. Once released, he will have to be of good behaviour for two years. Keele will also be on the sex offenders register for life. 11. Jet-Skis in Rwanda. Bodies Ashore in Congo. Jet-Skis in Rwanda. Bodies Ashore in Congo. On one side of the lake, lovers glide on canoes, friends ride jet-skis and families pose for pictures in the hazy sunset. On the other side, less than two miles away, dead bodies washed ashore while ammunition and discarded weapons littered the water. The shore of Lake Kivu in Rwanda offers leisure and relaxation. Across the border in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the same lake displayed devastation and misery after an armed group called M23 captured the lakeside city of Goma last month. Nearly 3,000 people were killed in the January offensive, according to the United Nations. “It is peaceful here, unlike over there,” said Exauce Shalako, a 20-year-old man from Goma who was lounging on the shore of Lake Kivu in Rwanda one afternoon this month. Mr. Shalako, who said he had lost a friend in the fighting, had crossed into Rwanda for a day at the beach. “We need to unwind, to have a change of scene,” he said. But while Rwanda appears peaceful at home, it is fueling war across the border. Thousands of Rwandan troops have invaded eastern Congo alongside fighters from M23, which is under Rwanda’s control, according to the United States and United Nations experts. Rwanda denies backing the rebels. To cross from Goma to its sister city Gisenyi in Rwanda takes just minutes by land, but the two places feel worlds apart. In Gisenyi, a town of 50,000, restaurant owners adorn their beachfront properties with colorful decorations as the smell of roasted chicken fills the air. In Goma, a city of two million, the stench of death and the sounds of sirens wafted over the streets for days. The neighboring countries share a painful history but have little in common these days. Rwanda is seen as a model of development across Africa. A country nearly 90 times smaller than Congo, it sponsors top European soccer teams and is known for its high-end resorts, where affluent tourists stay during expeditions to marvel at gorillas. Being here can give an impression of political stability and affluence, but many say beneath that veneer lies widespread surveillance, repression and unequal development. Congo, despite its dizzying natural resources, remains plagued by instability. Its eastern region is home to one of the world’s largest displacement crises, dating back to the aftermath of the Rwandan genocide 30 years ago. “The living standards are so different,” said Théoneste Bitangimana, a Rwandan real estate agent and pastor who lives in Gisenyi and works on both sides of the border. “In Congo the rich get richer and the government doesn’t care. In Rwanda we’re constantly trying to improve the way we live.” The Congolese have a different way of describing the wealth gap between the two nations: exploitation. United Nations experts found that 150 tons of coltan — from which key minerals used in smartphone manufacturing are extracted — was smuggled out of Congo and into Rwanda by M23 last year. “We’re being looted for others to get rich,” said Didier Kambale, a pastor in Goma walking on a debris-littered street this month. “Why are they coming here?” he asked about Rwandan troops. “Do Congolese wage war abroad?” Though Rwanda’s leader has said that the war in eastern Congo is a Congolese problem, the M23 offensive on Goma brought it one step closer to Rwanda. In its attempt to defend Goma, the Congolese army launched shells and bombs across the border in January, puncturing Rwandan homes and tearing roofs open. Sixteen people were killed and 160 injured in Rwanda. Thousands of people fleeing Goma found refuge in Rwanda. Shattered glass and wood still littered the floors as rain fell into Mr. Bitangimana’s home this month. A shell had hit the roof of the real estate agent’s brick and cement house. “We’re praying for the two countries, because we need to live in harmony,” he said. In Gisenyi, children at school now talk of the war between Rwanda’s president, Paul Kagame, and his Congolese counterpart, Felix Tshisekedi. “I don’t pick a side, it’s too complicated,” said Ariella, a 10-year-old living in Rwanda with a Congolese father and a Rwandan mother. Sitting at her home yards away from the border, Ariella said she played dead in her bed for hours one morning during the M23 offensive, fearing soldiers might “come to kill us.” The fighting paused shortly after. Despite the two different worlds on each side of Lake Kivu’s shores, the beach in Gisenyi is also where people from Rwanda and Congo gather in peace. Mr. Shalako, the 20-year-old, said he crossed the border to tell his Rwandan friends that he was safe. “Politicians want to make us believe that we are enemies, but we’re brothers,” he said. In her living room, Ariella stopped her math homework to discuss the war. She said she was longing to visit her aunt who lives in Goma on her upcoming vacation, and “do all kinds of silly things over there.” Sitting in her Spider-Man pajamas, Ariella asked a question about the presidents from both countries that left a silence in the room: “Why can’t they just make peace?” Source link #JetSkis #Rwanda #Bodies #Ashore #Congo Pelican News View the full article at [Hidden Content]

  13. Sam Konstas puts away the ramp shot for his second innings at the SCG after a wild opening day Sam Konstas puts away the ramp shot for his second innings at the SCG after a wild opening day Second time around Sam Konstas got the message about toning down his wild batting antics putting his reverse-ramp away after NSW took control of the clash with Victoria. Teen tyro Konstas left the ball four times facing Scott Boland in the opening over of his team’s second innings but while he lasted 44 deliveries, 37 more than the first innings, he still only made 17, falling to Boland again. After reverse ramping Boland for four, second ball he faced, in a wild opening to his innings on Tuesday,. Konstas hardly played a shot in his first seven ****** in the second dig. He didn’t get off the mark until his 13th delivery, a more conservative approach in keeping with the style which netted him the twin hundreds that pushed him into the Test team. But his returns of 3, 22, 10 and now 17 in four Sheffield Shield innings after being sent home from the tour of Sri Lanka could pose questions about his spot at the top of the *********** order for the World Test Championship final at Lord’s in June. Konstas was given a second bat in as many days after veteran seamer Jackson Bird took two wickets in his opening over to help roll Victoria for 182, a deficit of 56. The visitors then started with a fielder on the third man on the boundary to potentially catch any ramps from Konstas who hit one, but missed another in the first innings, a much to the dismay of former NSW coach Phil Jaques who called it “unexplainable” batting. The antics of the 19-year-old, who used the same approach in his Test debut against India but made just 10 against the Vics, raised some eyebrows but *********** great Adam Gilchrist, prone to some pure slogging himself, suggested it was the “new way”. With his guard well and truly up, Konstas only made one run in his first 22 ****** before expanding his second innings, hitting three boundaries before Boland had him caught at point, slashing at a wide ball, just before tea reducing NSW to 2-45, a lead of 101 runs. After 45 wickets fell across the first day of the three Shield games at the SCG, Gabba and Adelaide Oval on Tuesday, the batters took back some control on day two. While Victoria lost six wickets for not much, Western Australia put Queensland to the sword early reaching 3-225 before Michael Neser struck. The visitors lost 4-20 and inched their lead past 100 with the wickets in the shed going in to the final sessions. At the Adelaide Oval, having been rolled for just 93 in their first innings, South Australia lost Henry Hunt first ball of day two, before opener Conor McInerney and Jason Sangha put on a 100-run stand in the home team’s second innings. The Redbacks, who are top of the Shield table after years of poor results, pushed their lead past 150 at tea and into a strong position. 16. Chariot secures lithium-gold assets in world-class WA greenstone belt Chariot secures lithium-gold assets in world-class WA greenstone belt Chariot Corporation has made a play to secure West *********** strategic lithium and gold assets by obtaining seven tenements in the State’s highly prospective Southern Cross greenstone belt, a region known for world-class lithium and gold deposits. Chariot swooped on the tenements after they were relinquished by other gold and lithium explorers over the past two years, taking advantage of countercyclical opportunities. The company says it has successfully leveraged the strategy elsewhere. Chariot remains firmly focused on advancing its flagship ****** Mountain lithium project in Wyoming, in the United States, while taking a counter-cyclical position with its WA expansion into a leading hard-rock lithium jurisdiction in anticipation of the State’s next lithium exploration cycle. Southern Cross greenstones are no stranger to large-scale mining success, with their rich history of gold production alongside a growing reputation for lithium-rich pegmatite systems. Chariot’s new tenements cover structural corridors with known lithium-bearing pegmatites and are close to some of WA’s most significant gold systems. The company’s new applications sit in a prime location, between Covalent Lithium’s 189-million-tonne Earl Grey lithium mine in the south, to the multi-million-ounce Marvel Loch gold centre that is just 20km north. Chariot first forayed into WA lithium in 2023 and successfully sold 14 exploration licences to St George Mining, securing royalty and milestone payment interests in the process. The company is intent on replicating the low-cost, high-reward strategy. Chariot will waste no time advancing exploration across its new assets, with an initial works program planned to include geological mapping and surface sampling, geochemical surveys and drilling to unlock the tenements’ full potential. At its flagship ****** Mountain project in Wyoming, Chariot has discovered near-surface spodumene-rich lithium mineralisation. The project’s open pit amenable resource will now be fast-tracked towards a small-scale mining operation intended to supply the US electric vehicle market. It could put Chariot in a box seat given US President Donald Trump’s trade war, which has placed tariffs on ******** imports, will likely force the country’s EV market to shift to critical minerals sourced in-country. The project could also leverage a helpful wrinkle in Wyoming’s favourable small-mine permitting system, which Chariot says looks handmade for ****** Mountain. Wyoming’s regulatory framework allows a streamlined approval process for mining by imposing a 10-acre (4-hectare) surface disturbance limit without restricting the volume of mineralised material extracted. This would allow Chariot to swiftly bring the pilot mine online and target the US market, where supply chain disruptions and a reliance on foreign lithium supplies have highlighted the need for domestic production. Chariot believes its multi-pronged strategy hedges against short-term lithium price volatility while ensuring it is well-positioned for near-term cash flow and long-term resource growth should the long-bemoaned lithium price finally decide to rear its head. Hope (Annika Noelle) storms into the design office, startling Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang). Hope says they should be celebrating the success of the jewelry launch. Brooke asks why she’s not celebrating with Carter. Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) is watching the numbers come in for the jewelry line. Daphne (Murielle Hillaire) and Taylor (Rebecca Budig) are there with her at the Forrester Mansion, and they note that the success comes with a huge cost. Steffy vows to get her family’s company back. Daphne thinks Carter will do the right thing. Steffy thinks Carter is riding high right now, but Zende (Delon De Metz) walks in and tells them that he was there for the launch and the only person who was actually excited about the line’s success was Hope. This changes things for Steffy. Hope stares at her reflection in the mirror, trying to calm down. Brooke says she can’t help Hope unless she tells her what’s wrong. Hope admits she’s tired of losing. She asks if her mother felt the energy in the room during the launch, noting that everyone who was there for it has been bullied by the former regime. Brooke says that Ridge and Steffy have made mistakes but that doesn’t justify stealing the company from them. She asks why Hope isn’t celebrating with Carter, and Hope says Carter is feeling guilty. Ridge sees the blood on Carter’s hand, adding that “that tracks” because he stole the company from his best friend and family. Steffy says the Logans are good at getting what they want from the men in their lives. Zende says he likes working with them and he’s excited about the line, but no one was excited about the launch. Even Brooke. Hope says Carter should be excited but he’s not, and Brooke reminds her that he’d usually be celebrating with Ridge but he’s not there. Hope can’t understand why Brooke is always on the Forresters’ side. When she points out that Ridge is with Taylor right now, Brooke says it still doesn’t justify that they stole the company. Carter, in a dull monotone voice, wraps up his hand and tells Ridge that he knows he’s a traitor who ruined their friendship. He doesn’t need Ridge to remind him and he’d like to get to celebrating his victory, even though he doesn’t sound convincing. Ridge says he’s confused because he sees Carter as the man who was there when his father was dying and who crashed on his couch and he sees his brother, and he’s trying to figure out how he could betray him so much. When Carter says he is “protecting” the company, Ridge asks how he sleeps at night and wonders if he knows that he did all this for a woman who only came to him when she needed help. Carter says he sleeps great because he took a company from a man who doesn’t read contracts and calls women “********.” Ridge says he understands, but he doesn’t see Carter being happy at the end of the day. Steffy can’t believe Brooke cares about anything other than herself. Zende says Brooke cares about the company, and Ridge, but Taylor jumps in and says Brooke should prove it and stop the takeover. Thorsten Kaye in The Bold and the Beautiful | Credit: CBS Hope doesn’t understand the hold Ridge has over Brooke and Carter. Brooke says he doesn’t have a hold on her, so Hope focuses on Carter. Brooke asks if Hope has ever considered how Carter spends all of his time with the Forresters, including on holidays. Hope wonders what that has to do with anything. Brooke says the Forresters have been family to him, which makes Hope think the Forresters should have done more to make him feel like family. Brooke knows the guilt is eating at him, which upsets Hope because Carter is about to throw everything away. Hope vows to support Carter by making sure he doesn’t throw away his hard work. Carter says he hated doing what he did, but when Ridge says Carter only did it because of Hope. Ridge reminds him of when he stepped down and Steffy asked him to run the company. Carter points out that he walked in on Steffy threatening to cut Hope’s line and Ridge reluctantly agrees that Steffy made it personal, but all Carter did was put his name on some paperwork. They get defensive over what Hope and Steffy both did, but ultimately Carter says he’s working to see the company reach its potential. When Carter brings up the jewelry line, Ridge reminds him that he wasn’t the one who approved it. Ridge keeps pushing, pointing out how no one has been excited for what’s happening. He acknowledges that Carter is good at what he does, but he’s lacking morals. “You sold your soul to gain the world, and now you want to turn back time,” Ridge says. Hope refuses to back down and cave to Ridge and Steffy. Brooke says she’s turning this into a war, which shocks Hope because they’re only trying to stop the bullying at the company. And they’re succeeding, she says. Brooke wonders what kind of future they can have when they can’t even look in the mirror. Hope refuses to allow anyone to put Carter at risk. Carter thinks he’s doing the right thing but Ridge can’t agree with him. He loved his ideas but didn’t like the luxury proposal. Ridge asks Carter what would have happened if Ridge had agreed to the expansion, which makes Carter look away. Ridge reminds him of their friendship and how they both bonded immediately. They trusted each other. Ridge says he can’t see the red flags with Hope, just as he missed them with Quinn. Carter says he loved Hope, and Ridge admits Hope might actually love him. Carter says Hope wanted respect but Ridge points out that she wanted to beat Steffy. That’s what this is all about. Ridge asks if Carter is a better person now than when they met. Losing the company was one thing, but losing Carter’s friendship was another. In tears, Ridge tells Carter that losing him broke him. Before Ridge leaves, Carter stops him and says that when he came up with the idea to take the company to the next level, he never thought he’d be doing it without his brother. He misses their friendship, and he misses his brother. He rushes into Ridge’s arms to hug him, and after a beat Ridge hugs him back. Hope walks in and sees them sharing this moment. She’s shocked. 18. Nothing Phone 3a Series Confirmed to Get 50-Megapixel Triple Rear Cameras Nothing Phone 3a Series Confirmed to Get 50-Megapixel Triple Rear Cameras Nothing Phone 3a series is scheduled to be launched globally on March 4. Ahead of its anticipated debut, the British original equipment manufacturer (OEM) has confirmed key camera specifications of what appears to be the Pro model in the lineup. The phone will be equipped with a 50-megapixel triple rear camera system. Alongside specifications, the camera unit’s layout has also been teased and the cameras appear to be arranged in an unusual manner compared to traditional designs. Nothing Phone 3a Series Camera Specifications In a new video posted on Nothing’s YouTube channel, the company carries out a comparison of the camera capabilities of its unreleased Nothing Phone 3a against one of the heavyweights in the market, the iPhone 16 Pro Max. The former’s triple rear camera module is confirmed to comprise a 50-megapixel “shake free” camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a 50-megapixel periscope Sony sensor with OIS, and an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle shooter with a Sony Sensor. The phone will also have a 50-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls. Nothing claims that the primary camera on the Phone 3a series has the largest “full well capacity” of any comparable sensor. Notably, it refers to the maximum amount of light a single pixel can capture without becoming saturated. Traditionally, the higher the full well capacity, the wider the range of light levels the camera can capture without losing details. The video confirms that the Phone 3a series’ 50-megapixel periscope camera will offer 3x optical zoom, 6x lossless zoom, and up to 60x “ultra” zoom. This sensor also enables users to capture macro zoom shots with up to 6x magnification, which the company claims to eliminate the need of using external macro lenses to capture such media. Another camera feature on the Phone 3a series is 4K video stabilisation. As per Nothing, it enhances the video stability by over 200 percent, allowing the phone to shoot in up to 4K/30fps. It also gets adaptive stabilisation that automatically analyses the footage to determine if changes are to be applied. LOUIS –The annual Annie Malone May Day Parade, known as the second largest African American parade in the country, announced on Tuesday its 2025 parade scheduled has been canceled. The St. Louis tradition that has marked the city for 115 years was originally scheduled for May 18, but according to Annie Malone Children & Family Services, it was canceled due to growing economic challenges. How much more snow is St. Louis getting? The organization said in a statement that funds raised from the parade directly support programs providing shelter, mental health services, and economic mobility for children and families facing crises in St. Louis. “This parade is woven into the fabric of St. Louis—it’s a celebration of our history, our resilience, and our unwavering commitment to each other,” said CEO Keisha Lee in a news release. “But right now, we have families who can’t afford their next meal or a safe place to sleep.
