X-Men Join Dice Throne As Virtual Version Of The Tabletop Game Is Considered
Dice Throne is a tabletop game that utilizes both dice and cards to pit heroes against each other in fast-paced turn-based combat, with additional options to face off in teams or have everyone band together in a cooperative adventure. It’s a remarkably quick (and fun!) game to set up and play, making it an ideal choice for folks who don’t have hours to devote each week to D&D, Pathfinder, or any system that similarly lends itself to a long-form adventure.
The Dice Throne team is set to soon release its long-awaited X-Men expansion, injecting more Marvel heroes to fight alongside Dice Throne’s largely original cast of characters. This is the second expansion to add licensed characters to the game–Dice Throne added a bunch of non-mutant Marvel characters like Thor and ****** Panther to its roster in a previous add-on. Speaking to Dice Throne co-creator and lead game designer Nate Chatellier and CEO Casey Sershon, I asked how this “Magic: The Gathering meets Yahtzee” game approached adding licensed characters to a game and whether more IPs are being considered.
Pyromancer was one of Dice Throne’s first characters.
“When we started Dice Throne, I created this five-year plan,” Chatellier told me. “I love long-term planning, and the plan back then was season one, season two, a solo and co-op mode–which ended up being Dice Throne Adventures–and then a Marvel edition. I thought it was a five-year plan, it took six years to do it, but we checked all the boxes, which I’m still very proud of. When we hit that Marvel edition, that was the end of the road map. It was like, ‘Okay, where do we go from here and how do we feel about working with IP?'”
“Long-term, we’ll continue to pursue both,” Sershon said. “We will be continuing to pursue original IP and licensed IP… Original IP is super cool. It’s an open sandbox, but then that’s also one of the fun things with working with licensed IP is it steers your vision [and] puts some constraints on it. It lets us narrow in on what is going to make this character feel right, and that opens our minds, all the developers, to [figuring out] what’s this new mechanic we can add in to make it feel like [the fantasy of] this character.”
“We don’t want to be an IP company, like that’s all that we do, but we don’t want to be a company that shies away from IP that we love, that we’re passionate about that fits our system,” Chatellier added. “We’re not a company that’s trying to just cash grab. We have to feel like we love this, we can do it justice, and it can become part of it. The more we talked about that, then it felt like adding X-Men to this world just made a lot of sense.”
Prior to the X-Men, Dice Throne added several Marvel heroes and antiheroes to its roster.
In Dice Throne, you play as your chosen character, rolling six-sided dice on your turn to try and get specific patterns that allow you to use a hero’s various abilities. You can also play cards to better your odds, improve certain skills, or make things worse for opposing players. The Pyromancer is a fairly approachable hero who deals with opponents with explosive fireballs and high-damage flames, for example, while the somewhat complex Huntress commands a sabretooth tiger named Nyra to attack and defend for her, forcing a player to find ways to maintain that bond to boost the hero’s capabilities.
“The goal is quick set up, quick play, and longevity,” Chatellier said. “We joke [and] say, ‘Dice Throne is the game that you’ll actually play,’ [but it’s only] sort of a joke. [Jordan, you] talked about having 20 games that are coming out [that look interesting], and Dice Throne [stays competitive by] only taking 30 seconds to set up and 30 minutes to play a game, and once you read the short core rules of the game, you don’t have to read another 20-page rule book. You already know how to play the game, you just learn new heroes.”
Though initially designed as a dueling game, Dice Throne can be played with a more story-driven structure with one-shot Missions and longer Adventures. “If you like these long campaign-style games, Adventures is great and falls along that audience. Missions plays very similar to Adventures but it’s not the long multi-night, multi-week campaign style. It’s a single play through one night,” Sershon said.
The Outcasts expansion will add more monstrous heroes to Dice Throne.
“With Adventures, I made a game for me,” Chatellier said. “I love the long [story.] I do a lot of legacy games. I love the long, drawn-out thing. My wife and I do regular double dates where we play legacy games. I wanted that. The problem that I realized over time is not everybody has a long-term gaming group and if they do, maybe not everybody wants that game to be the game that their gaming group plays. [Adventures] is more complex than classic Dice Throne, so even some people who like normal Dice Throne, felt like [it] is a little too complex. There were some things that were strengths to me as a game choice, but were weaknesses to others. With Missions, we swung the pendulum the other direction.”
New Marvel-focused Missions that see you fighting against the likes of Mysterio, Mystique, Mister Sinister, and Hela are coming but the ******* update (or at least, the one I’m more excited for) is the new heroes. The X-Men expansion adds eight playable characters: Wolverine, Storm, Cyclops, Rogue, Gambit, Psylocke, Iceman, and Jean Grey. “We have a massive spreadsheet with all of the Marvel heroes [and] all of the X-Men heroes, and we evaluated them on tons of different metrics to try to decide which heroes we would choose in our game,” Chatellier said. “It’s not an easy decision, frankly. There are many metrics: how much do we love the hero, how popular is the hero in general, and then hero intrigue.”
Chatellier described hero intrigue as how distinct a hero’s abilities could be when translated into the mechanics of Dice Throne. With nearly 40 characters released or announced, the Dice Throne team needed to make sure they didn’t add X-Men who would clash with an established hero’s playstyle or any other X-Men. That’s why only Miles Morales was added in the previous Marvel expansion and not Miles and Peter Parker, why Logan’s Wolverine was included but not X-23, and why Jean Grey’s addition meant characters like Professor Xavior and Emma Frost were omitted. Emma Frost made the cut as an NPC that players can encounter during Missions, though.
Several Dice Throne heroes have gotten updates over the years to account for the addition of Missions and Adventures.
“We have a lot of [women in the community] as well, including my daughters, and so I did want some powerful [women] in the game, it was important to us,” Chatellier said. “We knew that we were going to do Dice Throne Missions, so we separated the villains so that they could be reserved as villains in Missions rather than playable heroes. A lot of people have asked, ‘Why can’t we play [as] some of the villains?’ That was why, because we wanted Missions to be a thing. That was it.”
“And Nate’s just speaking to the character selection and the mechanic design,” Sershon added, referring back to the process of who was included in the X-Men expansion and the back-and-forth of designing each hero. “There’s the whole visual design too that the art team had to go through about what era of costume they use–do we make original [designs] versus adhering to what they classically look like. There was just a lot of involvement from Marvel on that and a lot of collaboration between all the teams. In the end, it was a great result though. We’re very happy with it.”
With this X-Men expansion and the recently Kickstarted Outcasts expansion, Dice Throne’s roster of playable heroes has nearly reached 40. And apparently, that’s not enough. “If we hit a point where we say it’s enough, it’s because we are done coming up with new, refreshed content and frankly, we are nowhere near that,” Chatellier said. “We have, I don’t know, 30 plus heroes in the hopper [that are] in various stages of development right now already. We have a great community on Facebook and Discord and other places where they create their own heroes, and it’s clear our fanbase is nowhere near feeling like this is enough heroes. They want more and more, and more. We can’t keep up, really.”
I still would have preferred Emma Frost over Jean Gray.
Previously the CEO, Chatellier passed the role to Sershon earlier this year to focus on developing various digital projects, even exploring the possibility of a digital version Dice Throne for players who want to play together virtually. It’s still not a foregone conclusion as to whether they’ll take the project on (I’m hopeful since I play most tabletop games with friends over Discord), but in the meantime, Chatellier is still the lead on game design of the physical tabletop game.
“We’re eight years in [and our 10-year anniversary] feels a lot closer to us than you might think,” Sershon said. “We’re already having the conversations about what it means and what our plans are–with the timelines of tabletop development, two years out is not that far.”
You can grab Dice Throne Season 1 or Dice Throne Season 2 for $99 each, Dice Throne Adventures for $80, and Dice Throne Marvel for $109. Preorders for Dice Throne Marvel X-Men and Dice Throne Marvel Adventures are both open–the former is $109 while the latter is $70. Grabbing Season 1, Season 2, Marvel, or Marvel X-Men is all you need to get started; you don’t need to own Season 1 to play the subsequent collections.

Intel delays $100 billion Ohio site to next decade: First fab now coming online in 2030
Intel delays $100 billion Ohio site to next decade: First fab now coming online in 2030
Intel has revised the construction schedule for its Ohio One semiconductor manufacturing site in New Albany, Licking County, delaying its launch to the next decade. The first phase (Mod 1) will now be completed in 2030, with production starting between 2030 and 2031. Mod 2 is set to finish in 2031, with operations launching in 2032. The company is slowing down the facility’s construction to align its investments with market conditions. However, Intel stressed that it could accelerate construction if needed.
Intel originally planned to complete the first phase of its Ohio site — once called the Silicon Heartland — in 2025. However, massive investments amid uncertain demand made Intel push the completion of the first module to 2027 or 2028. Now, the company believes it will need its fabs in Ohio only in 2030 and beyond. The delay suggests that it does not expect demand for its production capacity to skyrocket soon, which may be a not-so-positive development. On the other hand, Intel will also not have to invest heavily in its Ohio site now, which is good news for the company’s balance sheet as it is struggling to return to profitability. Investments in production equipment are the most significant investments in semiconductor fabrication facilities, so by delaying them, Intel significantly cuts its capital expenditures for the 2025 – 2028 *******.
The upcoming campus will cover approximately 1,000 acres (4 square kilometers), accommodate up to eight semiconductor fabrication plants, and foster space for support operations and industry partners. Intel previously estimated that fully developing the site would require an investment of around $100 billion. The first round of investments was set at around $28 billion.
Given the new schedule for the Ohio One (or the Silicon Heartland?) fabs, expect the new facilities to use process technologies that the company will develop after its 14A and 14A-E, currently set for 2026 – 2027 introduction. These nodes will rely on ASML’s Twinscan EXE:5200 or more advanced High-NA EUV tools that cost $350 million per unit.
“We are taking a prudent approach to ensure we complete the project in a financially responsible manner that sets up Ohio One for success well into the future,” wrote Naga Chandrasekaran, executive vice president, chief global operations officer and general manager of Intel Foundry Manufacturing, in a message to employees. “We will continue construction at a slower pace, while maintaining the flexibility to accelerate work and the start of operations if customer demand warrants, but I want to be upfront and transparent with you all about our current plan.”
Intel began work at the site in 2022. Since then, construction at the site has advanced significantly. The project recently reached a milestone as the underground foundation was finished, and construction above ground has begun. According to Intel, since the beginning of the construction, the site has accepted 36 superloads (through February 4), including four extra-large superloads containing the fabs’ air separation units. More than 6.4 million labor hours have been invested, covering key installations such as underground piping, 200,000+ cubic yards of concrete, and sub-utility trenches (SUTs). Office structures are also taking shape.
One interesting thing about the Ohio fab is that despite the revised timeline, hiring has already begun, with Ohio employees training in Arizona, New Mexico, and Oregon ahead of the local facility’s launch. Presumably, Intel is training employees to install production tools and other machinery. Workforce initiatives are set to expand as operational dates approach.

Lanning leads Aussie super show for Delhi in WPL
Lanning leads Aussie super show for Delhi in WPL
Meg Lanning has regained her position as the Women’s Premier League all-time leading run-scorer with a masterful knock for Delhi Capitals on a day when two of her *********** teammates shared the glory.
Jess Jonassen even eclipsed captain Lanning with her player-of-the-match, three-wicket performance while Annabel Sutherland took one of the best catches the WPL has witnessed as the table-topping Capitals overpowered Mumbai Indians by nine wickets in Bengaluru.
Lanning, who’d just been overtaken by another Aussie great Ellyse Perry at the top of the WPL’s all-time run-scoring charts, regained her position at the summit in supreme fashion on Friday, easing her way to an unbeaten 60 off 49 ****** that ensured her side moved two points clear atop the table.
Reaching her second half-century of the season off 40 deliveries, this was Lanning back at her flowing best after a few recent struggles, with the matchwinning knock taking her all-time run total to 845, 10 clear of Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s Perry.
The 32-year-old’s eighth half-century over the three editions of the competition is now also a record, and there should be plenty more fireworks when she does battle with her old international teammate Perry again in Saturday’s Capitals-RCB clash in Bengaluru.
Lanning’s innings, aided by fellow opener Shafali Verma’s bludgeoning 43 off 28, ensured Delhi raced to their modest target on 1-124 with 33 ****** remaining, which will be a boon to their net run-rate.
As she watched her skipper stroke nine boundaries, an admiring Jonassen admitted afterwards that she felt that she didn’t really deserve the player of the match award and that it sould have gone to Lanning.
But her 3-25, which featured the key dismissals of India captain Harmanpreet Kaur, trapped leg before for 24, and star England allrounder Nat Sciver-Brunt, sharply caught and bowled for 18, was a real match turner, continuing the discarded *********** international’s great form in India.
It was the 32-year-old’s second straight player-of-the-match accolade after her unbeaten 61 steered Delhi to victory over Gujarat on Tuesday.
Sutherland, Australia’s player of the moment, got in on the act too, sprinting hard for 30 metres from long on before hurling herself forward to take a stupendous catch to see the back of New Zealand ace Amelia Kerr for 17.
“Just glad to hold on to it. Hopefully ticked off my high speed numbers there,” said Sutherland, whose mum, in the crowd to watch her heroics, remained quite unemotional.
“She’s watched her fair share of cricket – it’s good to have her here,” Sutherland smiled.
“That was an incredible catch – and crucial for us,” said Lanning, who was thrilled the way young Indian spinner Minnu Mani’s 3-17 also did much to keep Mumbai down to 9-123 after she had asked them to bat.
Sutherland (1-21 off four) also took a key wicket of her own, getting the in-form opener Hayley Matthews to miscue one straight into the hands of Shafali after she’d moved ominously on to 22 off 25.

Trump-Zelensky meeting devolves into shouting match after Vance accuses Ukraine leader of being ‘disrespectful’
Trump-Zelensky meeting devolves into shouting match after Vance accuses Ukraine leader of being ‘disrespectful’
What was supposed to be a triumphant White House visit by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to mark the signing of a mineral rights deal between the United States and Ukraine devolved into an Oval Office shouting match between Zelensky, President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance.
Zelensky left the White House less than an hour after the emotional eruption, cutting short talks that were supposed to cement an economic relationship between Washington and Kyiv and create a mechanism to repay the billions in American military aid that has been sent to Ukraine since 2022.
Trump took to his Truth Social site to announce the collapse in talks, writing that he and Zelensky had “a very meaningful meeting in the White House” with “much” learned that “could never be understood without conversation under such fire and pressure.”
“It’s amazing what comes out through emotion, and I have determined that President Zelenskyy is not ready for Peace if America is involved, because he feels our involvement gives him a big advantage in negotiations. I don’t want advantage, I want PEACE. He disrespected the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office. He can come back when he is ready for Peace,” Trump said.
The conflagration kicked off on Friday after the American vice president began lecturing Zelensky for what he called a lack of open gratitude towards the United States for the aid his country has received to combat Russia’s invading forces.
Earlier in the day, Zelensky had arrived at the White House and was greeted by Trump outside the West Wing, with the U.S. leader shaking his hand and making a jovial quip about the Ukrainian president’s customary wartime outfit before escorting him to the Oval Office.
As reporters watched, the two men spoke about the mineral deal that Zelensky’s government has been discussing with Trump administration officials for several weeks, with Trump saying it was “an honor” to have Zelensky at the White House — his first visit to Washington since the change of administration — and describing the work to reach a deal as “very hard” while saying it was going “very well.”
“We have something that is a very fair deal, and we look forward to getting in, getting some of the rare earth, but it needs to look at the inside, and it’s a big commitment for the United States, and we appreciate working with you very much, and we will continue to do that,” said Trump, who also commended Ukraine’s armed forces as having been “very brave” during the three-year-old war that began with Russia’s invasion in February 2022.
But the conversation took a turn after roughly 30 minutes of questions from reporters as the subject turned to whether the agreement between the U.S. and Ukraine would include any security guarantees from the American side.
When Trump was asked by a reporter from Polish radio about concerns that he is “aligned” with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Trump replied that he was “not aligned with anybody” save for “the United States of America, and for the good of the world.”
He also accused Zelensky of harboring “tremendous hatred” for Putin and said that made it harder to “make a deal” to end the war.
It was then that Vance, who had been silently sitting with other Trump administration officials, decided to speak up.
The 40-year-old former Ohio senator began by mocking Trump’s predecessor, Joe Biden, and blaming him for Putin’s decision to escalate the conflict with Ukraine by invading one year into Biden’s term in 2022.
“For four years the United States of America, we had a president who stood up at press conferences and talked tough about Vladimir Putin, and then Putin invaded Ukraine and destroyed a significant chunk of the country … we tried the pathway of Joe Biden, of thumping our chest and pretending that the President of the United States’s words mattered more than the President of the United States’ actions,” Vance said, adding that Trump was “engaging in diplomacy” by speaking with Putin about a peace deal after years of efforts to isolate the Russian dictator by the West.
Zelensky responded by relating the history of the conflict and the multiple peace agreements that Putin has violated.
“I signed with him, the deal I signed with him. Macron and Merkel, we signed ceasefire. Ceasefire. All of them told me that he will never go. We signed him gas contract … but after that, he broke this ceasefire, he killed our people, and he didn’t exchange prisoners. We signed the exchange of prisoners, but he didn’t do it,” he said.
Turning to Vance, he said: “What kind of diplomacy, JD you are speaking about?”
Vance replied: “I’m talking about the kind of diplomacy that’s going to end the destruction of your country.”
He then began lecturing Zelensky about contradicting Trump in front of reporters, telling the Ukrainian leader that “disrespectful for you to come to the Oval Office to try to litigate this in front of the American media” and echoed Russian propaganda talking points about Ukraine’s use of a military draft.
“You should be thanking the president for trying to bring an end to this conflict,” he said.
After Zelensky invited Vance to visit Ukraine and see the state of things on the front lines, Vance reacted dismissively by accusing Zelensky of holding “propaganda tours” for visiting American politicians.

Fubo grows its subscribers and revenue as Disney deal looms
Fubo grows its subscribers and revenue as Disney deal looms
Fubo TV is bringing in more subscribers and revenue but still losing loads of money. Ahead of its proposed Hulu + Live TV merger, the broadcast streaming service increased its subscriber count by about four percent in Q4 2024 and its quarterly revenue by eight percent from a year earlier. And hey, it only lost about $41 million in the quarter, so things aren’t too shabby!
The streaming service ended Q4 with 1.676 million paid subscribers. That’s up from 1.61 million in Q3 and 1.45 million in Q2, so the company is doing something right in attracting new customers. Its total revenue has also grown: nearly $1.59 billion for the year (up 19 percent from 2023) and $433.8 million for the quarter (up eight percent from Q4 2023). Not too shabby!
But Fubo is losing boatloads of money — just less than before. It posted a net loss of nearly $178 million for the year, more than enough to ruin most individuals and small- or medium-sized businesses. But since this is corporate America, things are looking up there, champ! That’s because Fubo improved its losses by over $115 million from a year earlier.
The company is headed for some big changes. Pending shareholder and regulatory approval, Disney will buy a 70 percent stake in the company and merge it with Hulu + Live TV. The deal would create a new entity to manage the two brands, although the plan is for them to continue as separate services (at least at first).
Fubo is arguably the best live TV service for sports, but it still has some notable missing pieces. For starters, you won’t find any Warner Bros. Discovery content. That means subscribers will miss out on a bunch of NBA games (before ****’s deal with the league expires at the end of the season) and MLB games on TBS.
It also recently increased its prices, with the cheapest plan coming in at $85, slightly more than YouTube TV. Like the traditional cable it’s gunning to replace, live streaming TV is increasingly an expensive hot mess.

Four Seasons Resort Hualalai Redefines Hawaii’s Culinary Scene
Four Seasons Resort Hualalai leads an island culinary renaissance
Hawaii has long been celebrated for its picturesque scenery, vibrant beaches, and relaxed island lifestyle. However, when it comes to high-end cuisine, the islands have historically taken a ********* to more well-known culinary destinations. That is now changing, thanks to Four Seasons Resort Hualalai. With an exceptional array of upscale dining options, the resort is enhancing the Big Island’s reputation as a must-visit location for food enthusiasts, drawing in discerning travelers who seek both luxury and unforgettable culinary experiences. At this resort, fresh sushi, seafood, and steak specialties are paired with stunning sunsets, and the artistry of fine dining seamlessly blends with the island’s natural beauty.
‘Ulu offers oceanfront dining
Recently, the MICHELIN Key Resort—Hawaii Island’s first and only AAA Five-Diamond and Forbes Five-Star resort—revealed a refreshed design and a revamped menu at its renowned ‘ULU restaurant. In addition, the resort launched NOIO, a new sushi lounge and omakase dining experience on the second floor. Both restaurants are located by the water’s edge, providing an elegantly relaxed atmosphere with unobstructed oceanfront views. The ‘ULU remodel includes more lounge seating to elevate the cherished oceanfront dining experience, a central bar with views of the beach, and a spacious outdoor patio ideal for watching the breathtaking Hawaiian sunsets. NOIO, perched above ‘ULU, features an intimate 12-seat sushi counter and a softly lit dining room with red accents, gray furnishings, and wooden details.
“This is an exciting next step in our ongoing commitment to providing unparalleled oceanfront culinary experiences at the Resort,” said Regional Vice President and General Manager of Four Seasons Resort Hualalai Charlie Parker. “At Hualalai, we believe exceptional dining goes hand-in-hand with award-winning service and hospitality. Culinary excellence is about more than just the dishes we serve—it’s about creating unforgettable moments that connect our guests to the spirit of Hawaii, its flavors, and its culture. By continuously evolving our offerings, we reinforce the role of cuisine as an essential element of the luxury travel experience.”
NOIO’s second story dining room is sleek and intimate
Helmed by Executive Chef Richard Polhemus and Chef de Cuisine Chris Damskey—both seasoned culinary experts—the redesigned ‘ULU showcases a variety of cooking techniques. These include oven roasting, flame grilling, and wok frying, blending traditional Hawaiian tastes with Pan-Asian influences. Overlooking the Kona coastline, ‘ULU’s vibrant new menu celebrates bold flavors and fresh, local ingredients. Featured dishes include Ahi Tuna ‘Wellington’ with Ali’i mushrooms and foie gras kabayaki; Tableside Poke, an elevated take on the classic Hawaiian dish with local bigeye tuna and Japanese bluefin tuna; Aromatic Steamed Whole Catch with shiso chimichurri, mo’betta lomi, and daikon slaw; and Koji-Aged Portabella Mushroom with wild mushroom jus, ******* taro, yuzu-kombu rice porridge, and ****** truffle.

‘ULU’s inventive ********* list combines Hawaiian and Japanese spirits with locally sourced ingredients. Notable drinks include the Kahakai Sour, made with the resort’s exclusive Kuleana Nanea Aged Rum, fresh Hawaiian pineapple, Sudachi citrus, and vanilla shiso syrup; the Hualalai Harmony, which blends Hibiki Harmony ********, orange bitters, and Maui sugar syrup; and the Barrel-Aged ****** Manhattan, a concoction of Four Seasons Hualalai Whistlepig 10-Year Rye, Carpano Antica Vermouth, and Amaro Averna. These tropical and umami-rich cocktails perfectly complement the restaurant’s culinary philosophy.
An expansive wine list, curated by expert sommeliers, spans the globe to bring guests rare and celebrated wines. Recognized annually with Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence, this selection pairs beautifully with ‘ULU’s offerings and gives guests the chance to explore new and exclusive wines from premier wine regions.
The ‘Ulu Bar overlooks the Pacific
‘As we continue to evolve and refine our culinary offerings, our goal is to create unforgettable dining experiences that honor Hawaii’s rich traditions while introducing guests to bold and innovative flavors,’ said Chef Polhemus. ‘ ‘ULU represents both our past and future, where each dish tells a story through local ingredients, global influences, and the natural beauty of our island.’
In response to guests’ growing love for sushi, the resort has introduced the eagerly awaited NOIO, an exclusive omakase sushi dining experience. Named after the native bird used by Hawaiian navigators to signal nearby land, NOIO is led by the talented sushi chef Nuri Piccio. He takes guests on a culinary journey through the freshest island offerings, including a rotating selection of the day’s catch, à la carte choices, signature sushi rolls, and more—each plate reflecting the deep connection to the ocean.
Diners are treated to a carefully curated menu that blends traditional Japanese techniques with innovative influences from Chef Piccio. Standout dishes include Whole Fish Two Ways—sashimi and scalded fillet; Japanese and American Wagyu Collations; braised abalone in butter liver sauce; Lu’au Meshi with snapper, shiroika, nodogoro, coconut rice luau, yuzu, and ****** truffle; and rotating nigiri and sashimi options that showcase local catches like big-eye tuna, madai, and akami. Additionally, a vegetarian nigiri flight features options such as avocado, takuan, romaine, eggplant, and asparagus.

The highlight at NOIO is Chef Piccio’s seven-course omakase sushi experience. Guests enjoy a welcome Dobin Mushi, a tea made from snapper fins and yuzu; followed by Otsumami, a selection of Japanese snacks; Chawanmushi, a savory custard; the chef’s sushi omakase; and Wagashi, Japanese confections crafted by the resort’s pastry chef Kalani Garcia. The meal concludes with a traditional tea service.
Sake takes center stage behind the bar at NOIO, where guests can sample over 13 different varieties, along with a carefully selected list of craft cocktails, including non-alcoholic options. Highlights include Kanten Shots, Kakkoii Kakigori (a blend of Hualalai Reserved Kuleana White Rum, Chareau, Midori, honeydew melon ice, and condensed milk), and the signature NOIO Old Fashioned, featuring Saikyo miso-washed NOIO Reserved Mars whisky, fig syrup, and bitters. The resort’s award-winning wine program is also integrated into the drink offerings.
NOIO’s lanai affords stunning sunset views
‘Ulu’s terrace allows perhaps the island’s ‘closest to the waves’ dining experience
Chef Piccio is dedicated to sustainable sourcing, delivering a dining experience that is truly unique. He collaborates with local purveyors to create custom-made chopsticks, a signature rice blend, and a private-label soy sauce created exclusively for NOIO. The resort also works with over 160 Hawaiian farms that supply 75% of the food served on the Big Island, with additional ingredients sourced from the resort itself, such as herbs from its on-site gardens and Hualalai Oysters raised by marine biologists on the property.
‘Our seafood program at the resort has grown significantly,’ said Chef Piccio. ‘Just six years ago, we offered only three rolls on the menu. Today, we collaborate closely with local fishermen and farmers to provide a complete culinary experience, highlighting freshly caught fish and seafood alongside authentic Japanese dishes to offer a truly exceptional and sustainable dining journey.’
And finally, Four Seasons Resort Hualalai is home to the island’s only true steak house, Miller & Lux. This is THE place for the island’s best cuts. From famed chef Tyler Florence, Miller & Lux features the highest-quality steaks from the country’s best ranches. Add a robust raw bar, fresh seafood, crafted cocktails, and a view of Hualalai Golf Course’s 18th green, and Miller & Lux is a culinary destination. Florence is a lifelong fan of the steakhouse genre. He fondly remembers the sense of “special occasion” wonder that he felt when visiting his local South Carolina steakhouse as a child and he endeavors to create that same sense of awe at Miller & Lux. Mission accomplished.

‘Ulu, NOIO, and Miller & Lux exemplify Hawaii’s rise as a premier culinary destination. Together, they offer innovative, world-class dining experiences that give guests a reason to visit beyond the islands’ iconic sun, surf, and sand—proving that Hawaii is a feast for all the senses.

Want To Change Up Your Look In Monster Hunter Wilds? It’ll Cost You
Want To Change Up Your Look In Monster Hunter Wilds? It’ll Cost You
Monster Hunter Wilds is finally here, but one of its features has players scratching their heads: Players have to pay real-life money to edit their character if they decide they want to change up their initial look.
Players can create and customize their character for free at the beginning of the game, but if they decide they want to tweak that character later on, they’ll have to cough up some real-world cash. This aspect of character customization wasn’t shown in review copies of the game, so players weren’t expecting to have to open their wallets every time they wish to change up their character’s look.

The same also applies to re-customizing the Palico, a companion character who follows the main player-character throughout the game. On the bright side, this fee doesn’t apply to changing up basic cosmetic features like hair, face/skin color, eyebrow color, makeup, or clothing. But making more in-depth changes will cost you.
How much will it cost you? Well, there’s a number of options. Currently, an item called The Monster Hunter Wilds Character Edit Voucher Pack–which features three customization vouchers–is available to purchase for $6 USD. You can also purchase a three-voucher pack for the Palico, which also costs $6 USD. Another option is a voucher that costs $10 USD and allows players to re-build both their player-character and the Palico three times each.
Thankfully, Capcom is also providing all players with a voucher that allows them one additional chance to re-customize their character and the Palico for free. But once that token is gone, players will have to pay up if they want to significantly change their look.
Despite the rather unpleasant surprise regarding character re-customization, Monster Hunter Wilds is doing wildly well. There have been some issues on PC, but that hasn’t stopped the game from breaking records on Steam, with over 1.2 million concurrent players. WhatsApp says technical issue reported by thousands now resolved
WhatsApp says technical issue reported by thousands now resolved
Messaging service WhatsApp went down briefly on Friday afternoon, thousands of users reported.
Downdetector, a site which monitors platform outages, received more than 50,000 reports from users shortly after 15:30 GMT, which began to decline soon after.
WhatsApp said the issues, largely impacting users’ ability to send messages, had now been resolved.
“We know some people briefly had trouble sending messages on WhatsApp,” a spokesperson told the BBC. “We’ve fixed the issue.”
Some users reported problems affecting Facebook and Facebook Messenger, but in much fewer numbers than WhatsApp.
The end to end encrypted messaging app, acquired by Meta in 2014, has nearly three billion users worldwide.
Meta’s last mass global outage affected WhatsApp and Instagram in December.
The company’s boss Mark Zuckerberg told investors at the end of January that the company was “making progress towards becoming the leading messaging platform in the US like it is in a lot of the rest of the world”.
In October, he said more than two billion calls were happening globally on the app every day.
But the scale of the app’s user base can mean that any glitches are felt by millions of users across the globe.
However, few of the recent technical difficulties affecting Meta’s apps have come close to mirroring the impact of its outage in 2021, which saw the company’s apps go down for nearly six hours worldwide.

‘The Great Communion Revival’: Massive Event with 2 Miles of Tables from Capitol to Lincoln Memorial
‘The Great Communion Revival’: Massive Event with 2 Miles of Tables from Capitol to Lincoln Memorial
In 2024, a gathering of believers with prophetic spiritual gifts – led by revivalist Lou Engle who co-founded of TheCall solemn assemblies – inspired women to prepare for a historic prayer meeting on the National Mall later that year. Eight months later on October 12, the biblical Day of Atonement, 350,000 women convened in Washington, D.C. for a first of its kind worship service.
That powerful day included communion – a remembrance of the shed blood and broken body of Jesus Christ. Now there are plans for another massive communion moment in 2025 as well.
With a theme from Isaiah 22:22 – “The key of the house of David I will lay on his shoulder; So he shall open, and no one shall shut; And he shall shut, and no one shall open” – a new plan has been unveiled for two miles of tables from the Capitol building to the Lincoln Memorial for what may be the largest communion celebration in the history of the nation on Oct. 12, 2025.
“We believe America is being brought to the table of the Lord,” Engle announced after three days of biblical instruction, worship, prayer, and prophecy at the 222 Conference in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where leaders and people from across the nation gathered on Feb. 20-22.
Engle is calling it the Great Communion Revival – a meeting place for forgiveness and healing.
“I just think the Lord is bringing us to the table where all pain, division, and accusation is a test. It’s where Jesus forgave 12 men who would all betray Him. He didn’t even ask them to repent there. It was from the cross Jesus said, ‘Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.’ Jesus is bringing a message to the church: Forgiveness breaks the demonic powers,” Engle said at 222 – a code for the “now” assignment of the Lord.

David Bradshaw is a spiritual son of Engle and the founder of a prayer and worship movement that drew 50,000 people and four million online in 2017. He said the idea for a communion table the length of The National Mall was inspired by spiritual and prophetic dreams among people, including Bradshaw’s wife, who have consistently prayed for an end to abortion and for integrity in our nation’s elections.
“The presence of Jesus manifested in our nation’s capital, the gospel, and the blood of the Lamb are the only hopes for our nation,” said Bradshaw, who founded the Awaken The Dawn prayer and worship movement and authored a book with that name as well.
Bradshaw partnered with TheCall RISE UP and Engle to bring 1,700 worship teams, thousands of musicians, and 58 tents to The Mall for three days. He envisions thousands of Gen Z and Alpha believers, along with worshippers, musicians and singers from all generations, focused on Jesus for three days, culminating with a celebration of the Lord’s Supper on Oct. 12.
“If it weren’t for Lou (Engle) in my life, I don’t know if I would have had the courage to sign that permit application which, by the way, is pending for the whole National Mall,” said Bradshaw.
He, like Engle, believes that during a national time of accusation and division, the Lord is saying, “I’ve greatly desired to have this meal with you,” based on Luke 22:15.
“I wonder if right now we need a John 17 movement unto the outpouring of the Holy Spirit,” Bradshaw said.
Matt Lockett, another prayer leader who spoke at the 222 Conference, shared with Bradshaw a prophetic dream in which the National Mall was filled with tables just like those envisioned for Communion America.
“The life prayer we continue to pray, ‘Jesus, we plead your blood over my sins and the sins of my nation. God, end abortion and send revival to America’ was partially answered when Roe v. Wade was overturned. It’s time for the revival in America by the blood of Jesus with mass salvations and healings,” said Bradshaw.
His wife had a dream a couple of weeks ago in which a friend and prayer leader, Jonathan Tremaine Thomas, walked into a gathering and, instead of speaking, Thomas started singing a song from the movie Prince of Egypt.
“It says, ‘There will be miracles if you believe.’ As he’s singing it, my wife starts travailing uncontrollably in this dream,” said Bradshaw. He believes there might be a healing revival in the midst of communion. “I feel like we need to say, ‘If you’re sick, have terminal disease come to the table.'”
About 300 people who attended the 222 Conference, and others who watched by livestream from around the nations, joined Engle in praying for Bradshaw and Communion America.
“I know the challenge of mass mobilization,” Engle said. “We pray that the hand of God will be upon David. We have a revival expectancy, praying that its sound fills D.C. and the nation, with the blood of Jesus releasing healing and miracles,” he added.
Missiologist and international relations scholar Fred Markert, who mobilized prayer that resulted in a global harvest of mass salvations from 1990 to 2000, offered a sobering but optimistic forecast at the conference.
“I believe we have 18 to 24 months to see the beginnings of a revival that will save America. We’ve got a short ******* of time,” said Markert. He pointed out seven elements of true revival – repentance and turning to God is No. 1 on the list.
Beyond the others, the most important element for revival to spread is a genuine mission-sending movement.
“We need to send 200,000 new missionaries out of North America to the ends of the earth. If we do not see that happen, it won’t be the kind of revival that will save our country,” Markert said.
To that end, Markert is leading a new Youth With A Mission (YWAM) training center to equip gospel workers in reaching 42 percent of the world’s population that has no missionary, ******, or church.
Graced with a $6 million lodge in northwest Montana, Markert said the discipleship training school (DTS) will welcome high schoolers and college-aged youth, beginning June 9. The DTS also needs staff focused on training missionaries to go to a predominantly ******* nation in the 10/40 Window.
“We need 30 staff for five locations in one of the most strategic ******* countries that’s open to the gospel, and they’re friends of Israel,” said Markert. For more information about the YWAM DTS, visit here: terranovaproject.org
Other speakers at 222 included Dean Briggs, Chris Berglund, Laura Allred, David Kim, Heather Johnston, Corey Russell, and worship leader Laura Hackett.

Musk trolls Zelensky after Trump remarks he’s ‘all dressed up today’ for White House visit
Donald Trump appeared to tease Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as he arrived at the White House on Friday, telling him “oh look, you’re all dressed up.”
Zelensky shook hands with the president, dressed in a ****** sweater – a departure from the military fatigues he is known to often wear. The sweater bore the the Ukrainian trident, also known as the tryzub. The three-pronged spear appears on Ukraine‘s coat of arms and is a national symbol of Ukraine.
Turning to members of the press who captured the exchange Trump added “he’s all dressed up today” as the Ukrainian president smiled sheepishly. A clip of the interaction circulating on social media was seized on by “First Buddy” Elon Musk, who quoted “all dressed up” with a crying laughing emoji.
Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky sat down in the Oval Office for talks on Friday, that later descended into a shouting match (Getty Images)
The cordial, if a little awkward, meeting Trump and Zelensky comes after the president labelled his Ukrainian counterpart as a “dictator,” though he later said he did not remember saying the word.
During the highly anticipated meeting, the two men spoke about the minerals deal between the U.S. and Ukraine, which is expected to be signed this afternoon. “We have something that is a very fair deal,” Trump told reporters.
He added that he wanted to be remembered “as a peacekeeper.”
Moments after saying he wanted to be remembered as a ‘peacekeeper’ Trump raised his voice and accused Zelensky of “gambling with World War III’ (EPA)
However, minutes later the meeting became more heated, with Vice President JD Vance pointing his finger at Zelensky. “Do you think that it’s respectful to come to the Oval Office of the United States of America and attack the administration that is trying to prevent the destruction of your country?” he said.
Also addressing Zelensky, Trump said: “You don’t have the cards right now. With us, you start having cards … You’re gambling with the lives of millions of people! You’re gambling with World War III!” Raising his voice, he added “you’re not really in good position right now.”
Zelensky, struggling to be heard, replied: “I’m not playing cards, I’m very serious Mr President. I am a wartime president.”
Jumping in again, Vance added: “Have you said thank you once?”
Following the meeting, when asked if he and Zelensky could still negotiate an end to the war with Russia, Trump replied: “We’ll see.”

Diablo 4 Season 8 Delayed, But Will Feature Return Of An Old “Friend”
Diablo 4 Season 8 Delayed, But Will Feature Return Of An Old “Friend”
Diablo 4 Season 8 will release “a couple of weeks” later than originally planned, but will feature the return of a familiar “friend.”
That’s all according to Diablo franchise general manager Rod Fergusson, who in a post on X explained the reasoning behind the delay.
“In the spirit of serving the game, not the plan, Season 8 will take a couple of weeks longer to bake than we initially anticipated,” Fergusson said. “The team is hard at work on some great updates coming in the next season, so stay tuned. Looking forward to seeing an old ‘friend.'”
Diablo 4 is currently in the middle of Season 7, Season of Witchcraft, which introduced a number of Diablo 3-inspired Witch Doctor powers for players to experiment with. Fans noticed the in-game date for the end of Season 7 (and thus the start of Season 8) recently changed from April 15 to April 29, a two-week delay. It’s currently unclear if the delay Fergusson is referring to is that two week delay already represented in the game or if Season 8 will be delayed even further into the future.
Fans are also currently speculating what Fergusson meant by seeing an old “friend,” as he seems to point towards a familiar Diablo character making a return in Season 8. The use of “friend” in quotation marks seems to imply the character is not necessarily one of the Diablo franchise’s heroes, but could indicate the return of a villain of some sort. Fan-favorite villain Zoltun Kulle, who first appears in Diablo 3, did have a strong off-screen presence as part of Diablo 4 Season 3, so it’s possible he could be returning in an even ******* way in Season 8. But that’s all just speculation for now.
Fergusson recently reiterated Blizzard’s commitment to treating Diablo 4 as a live-service game–one that it doesn’t want to quickly abandon for a sequel. He said Diablo 4 will be here for “years” to come and wants people to know “we’re respecting their time and we’re not just here and gone.”
Despite those live-service plans, Fergusson confirmed just a few weeks ago that it would already be retreating on its promise of yearly Diablo 4 expansions. The game’s first expansion, Vessel of Hatred, released in October 2024, but a second Diablo 4 expansion won’t arrive until 2026. When it does, it will be the first time a game in the Diablo franchise has received two expansions.
Though the delay of the season stings, an upcoming Diablo 4 in-game event set to start March 4 may make the wait for a new season a little less painful. The event, March of the Goblins, will introduce rare treasure goblin variants to hunt down, including one ultra-rare goblin that rewards a coveted Mythic Unique item.

Prosecutors in Washington Demoted in Retribution Push by Trump Ally
Prosecutors in Washington Demoted in Retribution Push by Trump Ally
Several top prosecutors in the U.S. attorney’s office in Washington, D.C., were demoted on Friday to low-level positions handling minor crimes, another step in a campaign of retribution against Justice Department officials perceived as enemies by the Trump administration.
Those demoted include one prosecutor who had overseen all cases arising from the events of Jan. 6, 2021, and at least two who had worked on the trials of members of the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers militia, according to people with knowledge of the moves, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly.
The abrupt personnel changes, announced in a series of emails sent by Ed Martin, the interim U.S. attorney in Washington, were the latest upheavals in one of the country’s most important federal prosecutors’ offices.
Mr. Martin’s internal onslaught has been seen by prosecutors in the office as a brazen effort to punish, humble and harness its employees at the behest of the White House. Demeaning demotions have been a favored tactic employed by President Trump’s political appointees to force career prosecutors to quit.
Among those being reassigned was John Crabb Jr., a supervisor whose experience in the office had earned him some of the toughest assignments in recent years, the people familiar with the moves said. Those included the criminal trial of Roger J. Stone Jr., one of Mr. Trump’s advisers; the prosecution of Michael T. Flynn, a former national security adviser; and all conspiracy cases arising from the Capitol attack on Jan. 6, including those that involved the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers.
Another prosecutor who was reassigned, the people said, was Greg Rosen, who had overseen all Jan. 6-related cases as the chief of what was known as the Capitol Siege section.
The steps taken to give Mr. Crabb and Mr. Rosen new jobs well below their former ranks came less than a month after Mr. Martin oversaw the dismissal of more than a dozen newly hired prosecutors who worked on Jan. 6 cases. Mr. Martin has also threatened Democratic politicians with investigations related to their public statements about his political allies, including Elon Musk.
Last week, the highly regarded head of the office’s criminal division, Denise Cheung, resigned after she declined a request from Mr. Martin and other Justice Department officials to freeze the assets of a government contractor, saying she had insufficient evidence to do so.
Her position — a vital slot responsible for addressing crime in the nation’s capital — has remained unfilled, leaving prosecutors in the already demoralized office without clear leadership, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.
Mr. Trump has nominated Mr. Martin, who had no previous prosecutorial experience — and little interaction with the nonpartisan career prosecutors who work for him — as the permanent U.S. attorney in Washington. His confirmation hearing has yet to be scheduled.
The gutting of much of his top staff is one of the most significant moves made so far by Mr. Martin, who himself was outside the Capitol on Jan. 6, served on the board of an organization that raised legal fees for the rioters and worked as a defense lawyer for some of them.
Mr. Martin’s office is also defending the Trump administration against a First Amendment lawsuit brought by The Associated Press, whose reporters have been barred from covering some presidential events. Before a recent hearing, he posted a message on social media describing himself and members of his staff as “President Trump’s lawyers.”
One of the prosecutors reassigned on Friday from a supervisory position to working on small-time misdemeanor cases was Jason McCullough, the people familiar with the matter said. Mr. McCullough played a central role in investigating and prosecuting several Proud Boys, including five members of the far-right group who stood trial on charges of seditious conspiracy stemming from the Capitol attack and were sentenced to significant prison terms.
Another senior prosecutor, Kathryn Rakoczy, was demoted from working on federal cases to local cases in Superior Court. Ms. Rakoczy was part of a team that secured sedition convictions arising from Jan. 6 against Stewart Rhodes, the leader of the Oath Keepers, and one of his lieutenants.
A spokesman for Mr. Martin did not immediately return a request for comment.
Mr. Martin did not call the prosecutors about their reassignments or inform them in person about the changes. Instead, he sent the prosecutors — some of the most experienced in his office — a terse email from his phone informing them that they would “immediately” be assigned to new divisions many rungs below them on the career ladder, according to a screenshot provided to The New York Times.
He told one veteran official, who was being moved to the misdemeanors division — which brings cases against people accused of offenses like public drunkenness and shoplifting — to transfer his current cases to members of his unit.
“Let me clear: this change is not temporary,” Mr. Martin wrote.

American Airlines to start testing free inflight Wi-Fi
American Airlines to start testing free inflight Wi-Fi

Mary Altaffer | AP
American Airlines is planning to test complimentary inflight Wi-Fi starting next week as pressure mounts on carriers to offer the service free of charge.
The tests will be available on three flights: Between hub Charlotte Douglas International Airport in North Carolina and Raleigh-Durham International Airport; Charlotte and Jacksonville International Airport in Florida; and between Miami International Airport and Chicago O’Hare International Airport.
More and more carriers have either launched or are preparing to offer free inflight Wi-Fi, making it harder for competitors to charge for connectivity. American’s prices vary and are some of the U.S. industry’s highest, with flight passes often topping $20.
It was not immediately clear whether American will expand complimentary service to larger swaths of its network, and if so, when.
Delta Air Lines two years ago announced it would make Wi-Fi free for members of its SkyMiles loyalty program, following JetBlue Airways. United Airlines plans to offer complimentary Wi-Fi on board this year using Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite Wi-Fi, a service Hawaiian Airlines, which was acquired by Alaska Airlines, also uses.
“Through this test, we’ll be assessing customer take rates for inflight Wi-Fi, evaluating our provider and aircraft capacity, and – perhaps most important – measuring the impact to customer satisfaction,” American’s chief customer officer, Heather Garboden, said in a staff memo Friday.
In addition to facing more competition for a complimentary service, Fort Worth, Texas-based American has been in the process of working to win back customers after a failed business travel sales strategy last year.
“While relatively small in scope, this is already a big stride in our organization’s very critical work to give our customers what we know they want,” Garboden said.

Capcom Isn’t Keen on Remaking Older Monster Hunter Games Because “much better online infrastructure” Currently Exists
Capcom Isn’t Keen on Remaking Older Monster Hunter Games Because “much better online infrastructure” Currently Exists
Capcom has confirmed that a remake of the older Monster Hunter games is off the table. Despite having a strong fan base, the company has provided valid reasons for opting not to visit them.
Monster Hunter 2004 | Image Credit: Capcom
While Capcom hasn’t completely ruled the thought of remakes out, they have emphasized the challenges they face if they go forward with it. In this article, we will try to explore Capcom’s reasoning and gain deeper insights into them.
Challenges of updating classic Monster Hunter games
In a recent interview by the YouTube channel Arkezz Gaming, Monster Hunter Wilds’ director Yuya Tokuda and producer Ryozo Tsujimoto shared insights into this key decision.
One key factor highlighted during the interview was that Capcom believes the online infrastructure has made the mechanics of the classic games outdated.
Monster Hunter Wild Gameplay | Image Credit: Capcom
Tsujimoto in this interview also highlighted how each Monster Hunter game was specifically designed for the online multiplayer infrastructure of the time. Due to these games built to function optimally around these limitations, Tsujimoto pointed out how this would require them to completely overhaul the game.
One of the barriers to trying to remaster or remake a Monster Hunter game is that it’s always been an online game with multiplayer, so each generation of Monster Hunter game has been structured and built around the online capabilities of that generation.
Adding modern-day features would therefore jeopardize the core structure of the game, altering the game and making it feel different from the original.
Capcom for now seems to have focused its resources on creating refining and enhancing new games. Implementing cross-play in Monster Hunter Wilds for example was of key importance to Tokuda and Tsujimoto:
Trying to go back to a game that was from 2004 internet, update it in a way that actually feels good to play in the modern day would probably end up making so many changes that is it actually meaningful to call it a remake or remaster of the first game.
Capcom seems to find this approach more practical. By prioritizing cross play, the developers aim to unite the players across platforms.
Capcom is focused on the future of the franchise
Another important consideration for Capcom has been gameplay mechanics. The classic Monster Hunter titles were more slow-paced and methodical, compared to today’s fast and dynamic gameplay standards.
While the slow-paced gameplay could be attributed to the limitations in hardware performance, they are flaws that make the game unique to itself. In an attempt to improve the gameplay overall, the developers can unknowingly make the game less authentic.
Monster Hunter World | Image Credit: Capcom
The gaming world today seems to have been caught in a clash between remakes and innovation. In this stage, Capcom is pushing the franchise forward by integrating innovative ideas and features to create fresh experiences all the while gathering new players.
Although fans may find themselves feeling nostalgic for these older titles, Capcom seems to be resolute in what they want to do with their title. It’s not that they find the classic boring- its just that along the lines, they believe that the essence of the classic Monster Hunter titles might get lost in translation.

President Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Vice President JD Vance appeared on camera Friday in a tense Oval Office exchange before the U.S. and Ukraine were planning to sign a rare earth minerals deal.
In the meeting, Mr. Trump threatened Zelenskyy to make a deal with Russia or “we’re out.” Vance, who was seated next to Mr. Trump, accused the Ukrainian leader of being “disrespectful.”
During a tense back-and-forth, Zelenskyy voiced skepticism about Russia’s commitment to diplomacy, pointing out that Moscow had not followed thorugh on past promises.
“You’re gambling with the lives of millions of people,” Mr. Trump told Zelenskyy. “You’re gambling with World War III, and what you’re doing is very disrespectful to this country.”
Mr. Trump mentioned earlier this week that the U.S. and Zelenskyy reached a deal on a broad framework for sharing Ukraine’s mineral resources, and said Zelenskyy was coming to the White House because he “would like to sign it together with me.” Negotiations continued despite public tension between the two leaders in recent days. Mr. Trump had appeared to blame Ukraine for the war Russia started and labeled Zelenskyy a “dictator” last week, while declining to say the same of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Sapphire Nitro+ RX 9070 XT hides its 12V-2×6 power connector inside, offers cableless look
Sapphire Nitro+ RX 9070 XT hides its 12V-2×6 power connector inside, offers cableless look
Seeing an AMD graphics card equipped with a 16-pin (12VHPWR/12V-2×6) power connector is exceptionally rare. However, AMD AIB partner Sapphire is dabbling with the connector on its all-new RX 9070 XT Nitro+. Its first implementation of the connector is arguably one of the most aesthetically pleasing implementations of any 16-pin equipped card yet (including Nvidia GPUs).
The Sapphire Nitro+ RX 9070 XT’s supplementary connector is located inside the graphics card itself. The connector is hidden underneath a removable backplate that is magnetically attached rather than screwed in. Upon removing the backplate, users will find the 16-pin connector located on the right edge of the PCB, next to a large cut-out above the right fan responsible for “holding” the cable that attaches to the connector. Power cables are routed underneath the graphics card.

The result is a clean design with no visible power cables drooping from the GPU’s side. The new RX 9070 XT Nitro+ is the only GPU we know that boasts this “cableless” look with the 16-pin power connector. The closest Nvidia cards that mimic Sapphire’s design are the Gigabyte RTX 4090 Windforce V2, which sport side-angled 16-pin connectors but nothing to cover the cable. The only true cableless competitors to the RX 9070 XT Nitro would be cards such as Asus’ BTF-series RTX GPUs, which come with a completely proprietary PCI-like finger on the bottom of the card to provide supplementary power. However, this finger is limited in compatibility with only motherboards that sport its proprietary power-connector standard.
For those worried about the 16-pin melting, as has been the case for so many RTX 4090s and even RTX 5090s, Sapphire has installed a pair of fuses next to the connector that will blow before the connector gets damaged.
The new RX 9070 XT Nitro+ is the first RX 9070-series GPU we’ve seen with a 16-pin power plug. How many partner variants will opt to go with the newer 16-pin standard is unknown, but the new connector won’t be a mainstream option on these GPUs. Most AIB partner versions of the RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT will come with either two 8-pin or three 8-pin power connectors. The RX 9070 XT Nitro+ is also not the first AMD GPU to sport a 16-pin connector; the ASRock RX 7900 XTX WS is allegedly the first AMD GPU to sport the newer connector.
Besides its fancy cable-hiding trickery, the RX 9070 XT is a large triple-fan triple-slot graphics card with a silver color scheme. If history repeats, the Nitro+ model will be Sapphire’s flagship variant and the fastest version of the RX 9070 XT in its lineup. The GPU comes with Sapphire’s Tri-X cooling technology and optimized composite heat pipes. Power delivery is comprised of a 16-phase power delivery system installed on a high TG copper PCB allegedly comprised of 12 high-density layers of 2oz copper.
The new card also comes with a “Cold Rolled Steel Frame” that improves durability and provides extra protection. Sapphire also provides an L-shaped support bracket to protect the graphics card from GPU sag. Clock speeds on this specific model are rated at up to 3,060 MHz for the boost clock and 2,520 MHz for the Game clock.

Katie Taylor: Croke Park unlikely to stage Irishwoman’s next fight with Amanda Serrano – Eddie Hearn
Hearn previously said Croke Park and Las Vegas bouts would “tick off the list of boxes for Katie Taylor”.
“Hopefully we can tick one of those boxes next, but even at this point I think Katie acknowledges that we’re probably approaching the final chapter.
“She’s given everything to this sport. She is one of the greatest individuals and greatest athletes, not just that Ireland’s ever seen but the world has ever seen.
“I’m very determined to make sure we can deliver all her dreams before she steps away from the sport.”
Hearn was speaking before Saturday night’s card at the SSE Arena with Belfast’s Lewis Crocker taking on Limerick’s Paddy Donovan in the headline bout.
“The atmosphere is very special here,” Hearn added when asked about Belfast’s rich history of boxing.
“If you put an average show on you’ll sell an average amount of tickets but the people here, they know their boxing and when there’s a big event, they’ll come, like they will tomorrow night.
“It is an all-Irish fight and the winner goes on to fight for a world title in the welterweight division, which has huge names like Ryan Garcia, Devin Haney, Teofimo Lopez and Jaron Ennis so this is a golden ticket for whoever can win tomorrow.”

Why China’s Xiaomi Can Make an Electric Car and Apple Can’t
Why China’s Xiaomi Can Make an Electric Car and Apple Can’t
After nearly a decade of trying, Apple finally gave up its effort to produce an electric car last year, canceling a project that soaked up $10 billion.
But last year in China, the electronics maker Xiaomi launched its first electric car after just three years of development and delivered 135,000 vehicles. It has vowed to double that number in 2025.
Xiaomi’s ability to succeed where Apple could not shows how thoroughly China has come to dominate the supply chain for electric vehicles. ******** companies have mastered electric vehicle manufacturing. By tapping that infrastructure, Xiaomi was able to get components quickly and cheaply.
More ******** electric vehicle companies — including Leapmotor, Li Auto and Seres Group — are starting to turn a profit after burning cash for years in their intense competition for the world’s largest auto market.
And Xiaomi is not the only ******** consumer electronics company that has branched out to electric vehicles. The telecommunications giant Huawei, which the U.S. government has targeted with sanctions and legal action for years, is making autonomous driving software. Huawei has partnered with multiple ******** automakers, including Seres Group and the state-owned firms SAIC Motor, BAIC and Chery.
Xiaomi has long been compared to Apple. It made bets that its rivals rushed to imitate, like selling its low-cost, high-design phones mainly online. Its chief executive, Lei Jun, even dressed like the Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, in jeans and a ****** shirt, for Xiaomi’s first phone launch in 2011.
Xiaomi’s first electric car was brought out last March: the SU7, a four-door sedan with artificial intelligence features that can help with parking, play movies for passengers and program Xiaomi home appliances from the road. Mr. Lei said it looks like a Porsche. But at $30,000, it’s a quarter of the price.
Xiaomi makes all kinds of electronics, from robot vacuum cleaners to air-conditioners, which are connected through its operating system and controlled in its app. The SU7 is, in some ways, just another gadget. It can use data collected from other devices about a driver’s daily routine to determine the best time to charge the car’s batteries.
“Xiaomi has really started infiltrating your home,” said Gary Ng, an economist with Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking. “Everything is linked together, and this is something other companies couldn’t do.”
While the SU7 earned Xiaomi just a fraction of the sales of China’s top electric vehicle makers, it puts Xiaomi among the ******** companies that are dealing a major blow to foreign automakers’ long command over China’s market for premium cars. In the year since the SU7 went on *****, Porsche deliveries in China were down nearly 30 percent.
On Thursday night in Beijing, Xiaomi released a high-end version, the SU7 Ultra, alongside a premium version of its latest smartphone. The company staged a flashy teaser for the car by racing a prototype around Germany’s Nürburgring racetrack, where Xiaomi said it set a record for “fastest four-door sedan.”
Xiaomi also plans to release a sport utility vehicle, the YU7, this year, according to regulatory filings in China.
******** electric vehicle companies have benefited from billions of dollars in government support, which has helped them gain control of the supply chain down to the very minerals inside the car batteries. This early edge helped two ******** companies, BYD and Contemporary Amperex Technology Company — known as CATL and added to the Pentagon’s list of ******** military companies in January — become the biggest electric battery makers in the world.
Xiaomi used this supply chain to its advantage. Its cars contain batteries from BYD and CATL. It was able to quickly start production by taking over an existing factory from Beijing Auto Group. Construction workers in Beijing are working around the clock on a second factory.
All this manufacturing capacity helps ******** electric vehicle firms move from development to production in far less time than traditional automakers in China, enabling them to bring new models to market quickly and focus on making software that they can continually update, said Stephen W. Dyer, head of Asia Automotive at AlixPartners, a consultancy.
Intense competition at home has pushed many ******** carmakers to flood the global auto market with affordable electric cars. Last year, BYD sold more than four million new cars worldwide.
It is just a matter of time before Xiaomi cars are on the road outside of China, said Cui Dongshu, secretary general of the China Passenger Car Association.
Xiaomi’s popularity as a maker of all kinds of consumer electronics gave it a deep well of knowledge about ******** consumer preferences. On the first day SU7s were delivered, buyers could go to Xiaomi’s app store and get accessories to trick out the cars, like analog dashboard clocks and a row of physical switches that attach to a touch-screen panel.
“The strength of the brand puts Xiaomi ahead of a lot of their competitors,” said Tu Le, a managing director of the consultancy Sino Auto Insights. “That’s what it takes to sell cars globally, because it’s not just a consumer product, it’s an emotional product.”
