  1. A ******* tattoo artist came to the US for a 3-week trip. She’s now been in ICE detention for over a month A ******* tattoo artist came to the US for a 3-week trip. She’s now been in ICE detention for over a month A ******* tattoo artist who tried to enter the United States from Mexico through the San Diego border has been in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention for over a month, according to a friend who witnessed her being detained. Jessica Brösche, a Berlin-based tattoo artist, had been vacationing in Mexico when she decided to travel to the US from Tijuana with an American friend, Nikita Lofving. But at the San Ysidro port of entry immigration authorities took Brösche into custody. “They took her right in front of me as we were walking over,” Lofving, a clothing designer based in Los Angeles, told CNN. “Two hours passed, and then she called me and said, ‘Hey, I’m gonna get deported back to Germany. I’ll call you from Germany in a couple of days.’” The call was on January 25. Brösche has been in detention ever since, half a month past when she originally hoped to leave the US on February 15, Lofving says. According to the ICE Detainee Locator, Brösche is currently in the Otay Mesa Detention Facility, in San Diego County, while she awaits deportation. CNN reached out to both ICE and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to ask why she was detained. A spokesperson from CBP told CNN affiliate KGTV that if a foreign national denied admission to the US is unable to book travel back to their country of origin “he or she will be turned over to the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).” In a statement to KGTV, an ICE spokesperson wrote that Brösche is in detention due “to the violation of the terms and conditions of her admission.” Lovfing told CNN that her ******* friend was joining her in Los Angeles to tattoo her. She speculated that immigration officials may have misinterpreted Brösche’s statements about the project as a declaration that she’d come to the US to work. “I mean, she was coming to work, but not really for money,” Lofving said. “We have an agreement between artists. She’s one of my best friends. We’ve been working on this tattoo project on my body for the last five or six years, and in exchange, I make clothes for her.” In a phone interview with KGTV last month, Brösche said that she had been kept in “horrible” solitary confinement for eight days when she entered US custody. “I just want to get home, you know? I’m really desperate,” Brösche told KGTV from Otay Mesa. “I don’t really understand why it’s taking so long to get back to Germany.” Lofving said that Brösche’s friends and family are hoping that she’ll be out of detention and on a flight back to Germany on March 11, and that her mother bought her a plane ticket home. They aren’t sure whether ICE will let her out by then, however. “We sent (Brösche) back the information for the tickets, and she told her ICE agent,” Lofving continued, saying the ICE agent had said, “No, you have to get the ticket approved before you buy it.” ‘Extremely concerning’ A spokesperson from the ******* Consulate in LA told CNN in an email that they are “aware of the case and in close contact about it with the relevant US authorities as well as with family and close friends of the person concerned.” CoreCivic, the private prison company that operates Otay Mesa, told CNN that the company “does not know the circumstances of individuals when they are placed in our facilities.” “Our responsibility is to care for each person respectfully and humanely while they receive the legal due process that they are entitled to,” said spokesperson Ryan Gustin. Jeff Joseph, president-elect of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, told CNN that Brösche’s case is “fairly unusual.” Brösche, who entered the US via the Visa Waiver Program agreement that the US has with Germany and 40 other countries, would usually have been deported immediately rather than sit in detention for over a month, Joseph said. By entering on the waiver program, a tourist waives their right to any kind of litigation, Joseph explained. But normally, a tourist denied entry to the US would be allowed to withdraw their application for admission. “Instead of being subjected to deportation proceedings, they’re allowed to kind of get back on the airplane and turn around and go home, and that does not appear to have happened in this case,” Joseph continued. In any case, Joseph said that Brösche’s extended stay in Otay Mesa is “extremely concerning.” For more CNN news and newsletters create an account at CNN.com Source link #******* #tattoo #artist #3week #trip #Shes #ICE #detention #month Pelican News View the full article at [Hidden Content] For verified travel tips and real support, visit: [Hidden Content]

  3. Faith and Healing on Horseback: ‘A Ringside Seat to Miracles Every Day’ Faith and Healing on Horseback: ‘A Ringside Seat to Miracles Every Day’ For centuries, horses have inspired and healed people. Today, they remain an integral part of American life—with over nine million horses nationwide and more than seven million people involved in the industry. From the trails of Texas to the show rings of California, horses drive a $38 billion economic powerhouse. Now, a growing movement is harnessing the therapeutic power of equine therapy, combining it with faith to change lives. Ministering Through Horses Joe Most and his wife, Penny, found love more than 20 years ago through their shared passion for horses. Together, they run Perfect Partners Equine, living out their mission in Ridgeway, Virginia—and, as they like to say, waiting on the Lord’s return in their spurs and boots. Joe explains one reason he loves working with horses. “Oh, it’s because God’s coming back on a horse, and I want to be able to ride with Him,” he says. In the meantime, the couple trains horses while offering clinics and excursions, blending equine-assisted therapy with their faith. “They experience the horse, and hopefully, they see God through us. We want God to shine His light, His face on us for the world to see. And hopefully, they see the love of God through the horse,” Joe says. And the Mosts aren’t alone. Across the U.S. and beyond, ranches like these prove that healing can come on four legs. The global market for equine therapy is expected to increase by 15% this year alone. Hopewell Ranch: Healing Hearts A few states over in Weidman, Michigan, Jody Stuber and her husband, Ty, are also changing lives with horses at Hopewell Ranch. Jody says, “God has used these horses to heal hearts in ways we could never have imagined.” “When someone comes here so wounded by life’s circumstances, we have the privilege to be open, welcoming, and loving—the way Jesus would be. And sometimes, it’s not us but the horses that God uses,” she explains. After the devastating loss of her baby, Hope, Jody says the Holy Spirit comforted her with the words, “Hope will rise again,” sparking a vision to create a sanctuary for healing with horses. “Horses are prey animals, so they’re very intuitive. They know how to read body language better than we do because that’s their primary source of communication. If a person is struggling, they’re going to pick up on it. If a person is angry, they’re going to pick up on it. They just know what’s going on inside of us—honestly, a lot of times, better than we do,” Jody says. The ranch offers a wide range of beneficial programs, including Project Solomon, which helps veterans experiencing post-traumatic stress, free of charge. “The mental health industry is beginning to recognize the value of equine therapy, but it’s still a challenge. Insurance doesn’t cover it yet, so we rely on fundraising and private pay. But I believe as more people see the healing that happens here, that’s going to change,” Jody says. She adds that when God enters the arena, anything is possible. “We have a ringside seat to miracles every day. I’ve seen horses do things I could never train them to do—like responding to someone’s pain in ways that only God could orchestrate. It’s not us—it’s the Lord and these horses, and it’s so powerful to witness His love at work,” Jody says. At both Hopewell Ranch and Perfect Partners Equine, the missions extend beyond therapy—with a focus on making this care accessible and showing how God’s love can transform lives. Joe Most says, “I guess my favorite saying is, ‘God’s got a plan.’ Just ask Him to stand next to you and let your heart be open to Him. Let Him dictate what you’re going to do, and be moldable—like our horses are moldable to us.” ***Please sign up for CBN Newsletters and download the CBN News app to ensure you keep receiving the latest news from a distinctly Christian perspective.***   Source link #Faith #Healing #Horseback #Ringside #Seat #Miracles #Day Pelican News View the full article at [Hidden Content]

  5. What’s The Deal With Ford’s New Megazilla 2.0 Crate Engine? What’s The Deal With Ford’s New Megazilla 2.0 Crate Engine? Ford announced the 7.3-liter, gas-fired, naturally aspirated, pushrod V8 Godzilla engine to its friends and associates way back in February of 2019. At first it was just a truck engine, a big ol’ V8 mill that put down a relatively sedate 430 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque in stock trim. Pretty good for hauling around building materials or landscaping equipment, but nothing that was going to set the drag strips aflame, as it were. That said, it had a lot of potential and it didn’t take long for hot rodders to figure out how to squeeze a bunch more horses out of the big engine with just a handful of basic, off-the-shelf mods — upwards of 600 of them, in fact. They even wanted the massive engine implemented into other vehicles. Never ones to rest on their laurels, the big brains at FoMoCo immediately got to work making an in-house hot-rodded version of their big, new V8 to beat the aftermarket at its own game. Godzilla hadn’t even made it into Tokyo yet, as it were, before FoMoCo was teasing a *******, stronger, angrier version called the Megazilla. Megazilla? Really guys? When MechaGodzilla was right there? Anyway, the Megazilla engine kept Big-G’s displacement, iron block, compression, and general construction and tossed a bunch of hi-po go-fast parts at it — Callies forged H-beam **** rods, Mahle forged pistons, CNC-ported cylinder heads, etc. This bumped the Godzilla’s output to 615 horsepower and a whopping 638 pound-feet of torque. Not bad, but I think we can do better. Read more: The 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor Is Exactly What You Want It To Be Gojira! Ford obviously agrees with me, because in January of 2025 the company unveiled plans for an even *******, angrier Megazilla, the cleverly named Megazilla 2.0. Now, we all know there’s no replacement for displacement, right? Well, there’s a corollary to that old saw — boost. Megazilla 2.0 has the same 7.3-liter, iron block, pushrod V8 as the Megazilla and Godzilla mills, but this one has a blower! In fact, it has a 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger — the same one used on Ford’s smaller, higher-tech Coyote crate engine — that provides enough boost to push an alleged 1,000-plus horsepower out of the Godzilla mill. We love forced induction, don’t we, folks? Okay, so, why is this such a big deal? Well, for starters, the fact that the nerds over at Ford Performance were able to force enough air into an iron-block, pushrod V8 to produce north of a thousand horsepower without blowing it, themselves, and half of Dearborn clear to Saturn is a feat in and of itself. Then there’s the engine’s shape and size. Despite being roughly the size of a 351 Windsor as the Godzilla platform weighs nearly 700 pounds, a small-ish blown V8 with tough as nails internals and a torque curve wider than the Katy Freeway is going to be a godsend for racers. A World Of Possibilities Ford Performance’s monster Megazilla V8 crate engine. – Ford Performance While its official “off-road use only” status will keep it out of the hands of workaday hot rodders, it sounds like just the thing for trophy trucks, desert racers, prerunners, and drag racers of all kinds. Despite its heft, being able to drop more than a thousand reliable horses into a spot the size of an old small block opens up all kinds of possibilities. As stated earlier, details about the new Megazilla 2.0 are still pretty sparse. Its official launch isn’t slated until fourth-quarter 2025, and a lot can happen over the course of six to eight months in the auto industry. Obviously, we’ll keep you abreast of the situation until then, and if anyone at the Detroit Desk sees a *******, badder, blown Godzilla stomping around Metro Detroit, you’ll be the first ones to know. 9. K-pop stocks defy South Korea’s political, economic woes as well as Trump tariff threats K-pop stocks defy South Korea’s political, economic woes as well as Trump tariff threats In this photo taken on November 22, 2024, music albums and related merchandise released by K-pop groups and members of BTS, Seventeen, Stray Kids and Tomorrow X Together (TXT) are seen on display in a retail store in Seoul. Anthony Wallace | Afp | Getty Images South Korea’s economy has been slowing, with growth hitting a multi-quarter low. It’s currency has been under pressure, and the country is in political turmoil. Trump tariff threats have not made things easier. But there is one sector that has offered hope to investors this year. One of South Korea’s largest cultural exports: K-pop. Shares of the four major K-pop companies have gained between 20% and 33% so far this year, outperforming the Kospi’s 5.39% gain and the Kosdaq’s 8.8% rise, as of March 4. Hybe, JYP and YG have also hit new 52-week highs this year. Hybe, which counts supergroup BTS among the artists in its stable, is the largest K-pop agency by market cap and part of the blue-chip Kospi index, while SM Entertainment, JYP Entertainment and YG Entertainment are included in the small-cap Kosdaq. The gains mark a turnaround in the companies’ share performance from 2024, when they had tumbled as downbeat album sales hit profits. One of the reasons that K-pop stocks are receiving renewed investors interest is because the sector does not face the risk of U.S. tariffs, Shinhan Securities analyst Ji In-hae wrote last month, according to a Google translation of her note in Korean. Tariffs have been a huge source of uncertainty for South Korea with Trump’s threat of “reciprocal tariffs” looming large. The country has the largest tariff differential on a weighted average basis with the U.S. among Asian economies, which means that should Trump follow through on his threats, South Korea could be hit with huge tariffs. Promising industry outlook The optimism around K-pop stocks has also got to do with the potential boost the industry is set to receive this year. Shinhan Securities’ Ji is “overweight” on South Korea’s media and entertainment sector, citing factors such as the industry’s expected strong performance in 2025 as popular artists return and profits increase compared to a low base last year, as well as China reopening its market to South Korean entertainment. The Korea Economic Daily reported last month that China will likely lift its ban on events showcasing Hallyu, or Korean popular culture in the country, as early as May. Asia’s largest economy imposed a ban on South Korean content in 2017 in retaliation to the country’s deployment of U.S terminal high altitude area defense, or THAAD missile defense system, the report said. The return of popular groups in the industry and performance of large scale world tours till 2026 will be a “stronger investment point” for the sector, said Ji. BTS is expected to resume full-group activities as early as June, while Blackpink has announced plans to launch a world tour in the second half of the year. While the four members of Blackpink did not re-sign with the label when their individual contracts expired in 2023, Blackpink’s group activities are still managed by YG Entertainment. SM Entertainment and JYP have also debuted new groups in 2025. SM’s new rookie group Hearts2Hearts is the company’s first girl group in four years, while JYP’s new boy group KickFlip also made its debut in January. Citi analysts said in a note in November that they were “turning constructive” on the sector, expecting the aggregate revenue of the Big Four agencies to grow by over 21% in 2025 and nearly 15% in 2026. Citi states that the return of popular groups “will do more than just drive album and concert revenues — it should also boost ROI across multiple businesses. Fandom platforms, for instance, will see an increase of user traffic, and younger artists under [the] same labels can showcase opening acts at top artists’ concerts.” Source link #Kpop #stocks #defy #South #Koreas #political #economic #woes #Trump #tariff #threats Pelican News View the full article at [Hidden Content]

  11. Hinkley still the boss at Port, says his successor Hinkley still the boss at Port, says his successor Port Adelaide players know Ken Hinkley is still the boss as Josh Carr says little has changed since being appointed as the Power’s next head coach. Carr will take over from Hinkley at season’s end with Port announcing the changeover last month. “It doesn’t really feel much different,” Carr told reporters on Wednesday. “Having a focus with what my job is at the moment, for me it’s making sure that we’re ready to go for round one, that’s where it’s at. “Obviously it’s out there and it’s done and now our focus is about the season 2025.” Midfield coach Carr said he won’t be assuming greater responsibility on game day from Hinkley, who is entering his 13th season as head coach. “The way that we work together, I think it’s really clear with what our roles are,” he said. “And the players still fully know that Ken is the boss and he’s the coach and that’s where it sits. “Nothing changes for me, game day it’s the same thing. “The only thing that’s changed for me is I have more involvement in list management and talking to the recruiting team about what it looks like going forward.” Port open their premiership season on March 15 against Collingwood at the MCG without dynamic midfielder Zak Butters. The dual All *********** and winner of Port’s past two best-and-fairest awards had arthroscopic surgery on a knee and will miss between five and seven weeks. “We’re not going to rush it with Zak, it’s important that we’ve got him longer than shorter,” Carr said. “Around the midfield I don’t feel like we ever rely on the one person. “So there’s a number of players that obviously we’ve got going through there and a number of options … it’s up to everyone just to do that a little bit more. “We feel like we’re lucky in that area.” Key defender Esava Ratugolea is also unlikely to feature in round one as he recovers from hurting the medial meniscus cartilage in a knee at training on February 10. Carr said a round two return for Ratugolea was likely. Source link #Hinkley #boss #Port #successor Pelican News View the full article at [Hidden Content]
  12. Officials reveal shocking shift in major water source that millions of Americans depend on — here’s what’s happening Officials reveal shocking shift in major water source that millions of Americans depend on — here’s what’s happening Lake Mead’s future looks brighter, with new projections showing water levels rising nearly 14 feet above what experts predicted last year, reported 8 News Now. The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation’s latest study reveals stable conditions through 2026 at America’s largest reservoir. The lake currently sits at 1,065.07 feet above sea level, and forecasts predict it will reach 1,069.60 feet by March 2025. This improvement stems from successful partnerships between states, farmers, water agencies, and tribes working together to keep more water in the lake. “Our improved storage conditions at Lake Mead are due to conservation efforts taking place collectively between Reclamation and the basin states. Simple as that,” said Lower Colorado River Basin spokesman Doug Hendrix in September 2024. He added that recent agreements with the basin states are helping preserve Lake Mead’s threshold level. This progress is a good sign for the 40 million people who depend on the Colorado River for water, though Lake Mead has still not seen rain in over 200 days, and this improved projection is still far below where the water level should be. “For more than 20 years, the amount of water stored in Lake Mead has declined as Colorado River water uses have exceeded supplies, and climate change is making this worse,” Jennifer Pitt, National Audubon Society’s Colorado River program director, told Newsweek last year. “Today Lake Mead is 36 percent full — or 64 percent empty — with little chance it will refill absent changes in river management.” Despite the projected improvements, that “percent full” number sits at 35% as of February estimates. Watch now: Your favorite sushi might be threatened by climate change The Las Vegas Valley gets 90% of its water from the river. Much work still needs to be done, but through smart water management and cooperation, communities are aiming to protect their water supply while building a more sustainable future. Better snowpack and soil moisture have helped boost water flow into Lake Mead. New agreements between states are keeping more water in the reservoir, showing how collaboration can create positive environmental change. Looking ahead, water managers are writing new rules for the Colorado River that will take effect in 2027. These guidelines will replace regulations from 2007, helping communities adapt to warmer temperatures that have reduced river flow by 20% since 2000. Deputy Governor Christian Hawkesby will be acting governor until March 31, as well as chair the Monetary Policy Committee. New Zealand’s minister of finance will appoint a temporary governor from April 1 for a ******* of up to six months. “Over the last seven years we’ve significantly built our capability and capacity so we can respond to an increasing complex and challenging global environment,” Orr said in a statement. “We’ve made considerable progress in our approach to monetary and financial policy, alongside driving much-needed maturity uplifts in our balance sheet capital, digital, data and technology.” The country grappled with a recession in its third quarter last year. The RBNZ last cut its rate by 50 basis points to 3.75% in February. New Zealand has also been plagued with high unemployment figures that have seen foreigners leave the country in droves. In the June quarter 2022, New Zealand’s annual inflation rate hit 7.3%, its highest level in over three decades. The country’s inflation has since eased, offering the central bank room to cut rates. Reds ready to fly players home pre-match if needed Reds ready to fly players home pre-match if needed The Queensland Reds will fly any concerned players back from New Zealand to Brisbane pre-match if needed in the wake of Cyclone Alfred. The unbeaten Reds face the Crusaders in Christchurch on Sunday but coach Less Kiss insists the looming threat in Queensland and ******** of the players’ families are far more important than a Super Rugby Pacific game. “It’s obviously been in front of mind for us,” Kiss said on a Zoom call from Christchurch on Wednesday. “Obviously the boys have spoken to their partners and families and we’ve assisted back from Ballymore, head office have assisted where they can, to ensure that that everyone is in a good place. “But our thoughts are with everyone in Queensland at the moment, not only our friends and family, but for everyone in the south-east there and we just hope that it’s a bit of wind to bust it, but not too much rain and that everyone’s in a good place afterwards.” With the match not taking place until more than two days after Cyclone Alfred is expected to hit the coast, Kiss said any players that needed to return home more swiftly would be assisted in doing so. “We’re in discussion with one or two staff that we’re flying over as well. They may may change plans at this stage and ensure they can stay with their families,” he said. “We’ll be able to adapt to those situations, but absolutely we’ll do what we can to ensure that. “Any player or any staff member that they need to be somewhere, we’ll do what we can with flights and all those things. “If we can’t do it directly, we’ll do it indirectly by getting people back home.” Reds management have even moved the players’ cars parked at Ballymore to higher ground in readiness for any flooding. Kiss said in more than 40 years involved in rugby league and union, he had never dealt with anything like this week’s predicted weather. “A couple of times in Ireland, those storms can come heavily over the Irish Sea…when you’re travelling around, you’re getting the odd things happening but this is quite unique. “It’s massively unpredictable and ultimately we’ve just made sure that everyone’s got access to everything they need.” The Reds are chasing a third straight win to start their 2025 campaign after opening victories over Moana Pasifika and the Western Force. 16. Unexpected Update on Little Seal Rescued From New Haven Streets Has People Sobbing Unexpected Update on Little Seal Rescued From New Haven Streets Has People Sobbing Sometimes, the cycle of life is a sad one. Unfortunately, that is the case of today’s news. A seal pup by the name of Chappy, who was recently found and rescued in New Haven, Connecticut, sadly passed away, according to the Mystic Aquarium. According to a news report from Fox 61, Chappy was suffering from gastrointestinal issues that “were too severe to treat.” A separate written report from Fox 61 states that Chappy, who was found on Chapel St. in New Haven last month, was suffering from mesenteric torsion, which means that his intestines were “twisted around” in a way that cut off significant blood supply to his gastrointestinal tract. According to the Mystic Aquarium, “this condition can be challenging to diagnose and has a poor prognosis.” The aquarium also stated that it found small pieces of plastic in Chappy’s stomach, and although this can pose a threat to marine animals, they also stated that this was not related to the gastrointestinal issues that claimed Chappy’s life on Monday. Related: Leopard Seal ‘Steals’ Boat Anchored in Antarctica Like He’s Got Important Places to Be When Chappy was rescued on February 16, the aquarium noted that he was dehydrated and malnourished. He also had a mild case of pneumonia. While he did initially have a positive response to his treatment, Chappy’s condition worsened when he began eating whole fish due to “digestive difficulties,” according to the aquarium. The aquarium has stated that it is proud of its staff for being “able to give Chappy the best chance possible” to prevail despite challenging circumstances and that they “are devastated by this outcome.” They also shared that “the reality of working with stranded animals can be tough sometimes, but Chappy was surrounded by love until the very end.” Obviously, people in the comments section on this video were heartbroken to learn of Chappy’s passing. The Difficulty of Rescuing Wild Animals and Wildlife Rehabilitation Unfortunately, there is not a lot of data available to determine how rehabilitated animals fare once they are released back into the wild. This means that not only is it impossible to tell how or if these creatures survive in the wild after they are released, but it is also incredibly difficult for the small nonprofit organizations that specialize in rescuing wildlife to attract more funding. Some rescued and released wild animals, such as bears, will have tracking collars so that these organizations can keep tabs on how they are doing. However, many of these animals do not keep their collars for more than a year. Additionally, many of these devices are prone to technical failures that cause them to quit prematurely. Conclusion Unfortunately, this lack of data makes it very difficult to discern the mortality rates of rehabilitated animals once they return to the wild. While it is not known how Chappy came to be sick, there is also no way of telling how he would have fared if he did properly heal and ended up back in the wild. At least we know that during his final hours, Chappy was surrounded by people who cared for and loved him. We hope he is in a better place now and that his soul is resting in peace. 19. The best Monster Hunter Wilds mods The best Monster Hunter Wilds mods Table of Contents Table of Contents Shop Tweaks MHWilds Overlay No Crafting Requirements Unlimited Character and Palico Edits Damage Adjuster Wilds Rehydrated Wilds Optimizer FPS Boost Low CPU Cleaner Visuals and Better Stability Monster Hunter Wildsis is packed with more content than any previous game at launch. There are more weapons, armors to upgrade, and, of course, monsters to hunt. It will take a new player more than a few hours to learn all the tips and tricks, but experienced hunters can rush through the campaign and into the High Ranks fairly quickly. Either way, eventually, there will be some rough edges or aspects of the game that feel like they could be improved. Or, it might just be time for some fun additions. Modders provide nearly endless amounts of options to polish, add, and enhance the core experience. With such a popular title, there are hundreds of mods to look through. These are the best Monster Hunter Wilds mods you should try. Shop Tweaks Capcom Odds are most players never visit the item shop in Monster Hunter Wilds. For those who have, they know how woefully barebones the selection is. Shop Tweaks is a simple mod that gives you three options to add a much wider stock to purchase, including everything, consumables, or materials. The only things not included are tools, specific gatherables that reward you with points, and gems. This doesn’t make all these items free, so you will still need cash on hand, but it will make preparing for a hunt much easier. MHWilds Overlay Capcom One thing new players might not be too comfortable with in Monster Hunter Wilds is the lack of information on the UI. The only way to know how close you are to beating a monster or how much damage you’re doing is to look for subtle tells. The MHWilds Overlay mod takes all the guesswork out of knowing how close you are to victory and how effective your attacks are. It shows you the monster’s HP, DPS, and more helpful data. It is integrated fairly well into the UI so it doesn’t clutter up the screen too much. No Crafting Requirements Capcom The entire gameplay loop of Monster Hunter Wilds revolves around hunting monsters, gathering their parts, and using them to craft better gear to hunt stronger monsters. Well, if you wanted to skip the most fun part and craft whatever you want for free, the No Crafting Requirements mod is here for you. While you could use it to bypass most of the game, it is also handy if you just want to get an armor set because you like how it looks and don’t feel like grinding hunts all day. You still need to spend cash and can choose whether you need to unlock items via story progression before you can craft them or not. Unlimited Character and Palico Edits Capcom One of the most annoying aspects of Monster Hunter Wilds is the fact that it charges you for character edit vouchers to edit your appearance after starting the game. Many players, including the creator of Unlimited Character and Palico Edits, thought this was a bit exploitative and made a mod that allows you to bypass this requirement. If you already have vouchers, they will still be used first, but the mod will simply let you use the function even with 0 vouchers. Damage Adjuster Capcom Even though Monster Hunter Wilds is likely the easiest game in the series, especially early on, newcomers might struggle with how long some hunts take. That’s the intended experience, but that doesn’t mean you can’t use the Damage Adjuster mod to make the game a bit more comfortable. As the name implies, this mod lets you edit how much damage your weapons do. You are free to buff them to the point where every fight is trivial or even nerf yourself to give yourself an extra challenge if you think the game is too easy. Wilds Rehydrated Capcom Even on powerful PCs, Monster Hunter Wilds can look rather drab. The desert landscapes in particular can look particularly poor. The Wilds Rehydrated mod is a reshade that adds clarity, depth, and reworks the color balance without tanking your FPS even more than the game does. It really shows how beautiful this game can be without all those blurry textures. It doesn’t completely change the game, but it is a great improvement. Wilds Optimizer FPS Boost Low CPU Cleaner Visuals and Better Stability Capcom A name like Wilds Optiomizer FPS Boost Low CPU Cleaner Visuals and Better Stability says everything you need to know right there. We already mentioned how the performance of this game leaves quite a bit to be desired, so a mod like this was bound to come around sooner rather than later. Depending on your GPU, this mod claims to increase your FPS by at least 10 and lower your CPU usage by 10-15%. It achieves this by removing some post-processing effects, optimizing the CPU load, and tweaking some GPU settings. Considering how poor this game runs on some rigs out there, a mod like this might be the thing that makes the game even playable for you. 20. Here’s why congresswomen are wearing pink for Trump’s speech tonight Here’s why congresswomen are wearing pink for Trump’s speech tonight Washington — Many Democratic women in Congress wore bright pink for President Trump’s address to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday in a display of defiance against the president. Rep. Teresa Leger Fernández of New Mexico, who leads the Democratic Women’s Caucus, told Time magazine that the color signifies “our protest of Trump’s policies which are negatively impacting women and families.” “Pink is a color of power and protest,” she told the magazine. “It’s time to rev up the opposition and come at Trump loud and clear.” The 96-member group spoke about their opposition to the president outside the U.S. Capitol prior to the address on Tuesday, where Leger Fernández asserted, “Women cannot afford Trump.” “He costs us too much in terms of money, health, lives and safety,” she said. “From cradle to old age, this man and the Republican agenda is devastating for America’s women. We want the world to know we stand in protest, we stand in power. We stand in pink and we stand in opposition.” U.S. Democratic Rep. Nancy Pelosi, of California, gathers with other female members wearing pink ahead of President Trump’s address to a joint session of Congress in the House Chamber of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., on March 4, 2025. JIM WATSON/AFP via Getty Images During Mr. Trump’s first address to a joint session of Congress in 2017, Democratic congresswomen wore white to highlight women’s rights. Last year, when then-President Joe Biden delivered a State of the Union address, caucus members also wore white to bring attention to reproductive rights. “Our message is clear: women must be able to access the health care they need to control their own lives and futures. That means women, not politicians, should be in charge of whether, when, and how to start or grow their families. That includes access to birth control, access to abortion, and access to IVF,” the group said in a statement in 2024. 21. Most areas in England to cut eating-disorder help for under-18s Most areas in England to cut eating-disorder help for under-18s Nick Triggle and Hannah Karpel BBC News Getty Images Most areas in England are planning cuts to specialist eating-disorder services for children and young people this year, an analysis shows. Of the nation’s 42 NHS integrated care boards, 24 are due to reduce spending for under-18s in 2024-25, once inflation is taken into account. Overall spending is due to go up by 2.9%, with budgets rising in the other areas, but the Royal College of Psychiatrists (RCP), which carried out the analysis, said this was too little to cope with increased in demand. NHS England said improving care was “vital” and more action was being taken in the community to support young people before their condition became a crisis. Spending had been increasing for a number of years but “more work needs to be done”, an official added. ‘Shrugged off’ Veronika, 20, has been struggling with an eating disorder for five years. “Shrugged off” by services in the past, she says cuts could be “catastrophic” for people like her. “It will have a knock-on impact and people won’t want to seek help even from their GP, even for physical-health monitoring,” Veronika says. “It will just spiral on and on. “It is horrible living day in and day out with it. “And if you are not seen quick enough, I know myself how quickly things can spiral in a matter of weeks or days. “It is going to be tragic for some and just long and horrible for others”. ‘Ration care’ Eating-disorder services cover a range of different support, from therapy and counselling to crisis support and hospital treatment. But they were already underfunded, the RCP said, and it had had to ration care to the under-18s most affected. Last year, referrals went up by 13%. By the end of 2024, more than 6,000 under-18s were on waiting lists. And targets for routine and urgent waits are not currently being met. ‘Torn apart’ Dr Ashish Kumar, of the RCP, said: “Eating disorders, in particular anorexia, have high rates of mortality yet are treatable conditions. “And with the right care and support in a timely manner, most patients can make a full recovery.” Tom Quinn, of the eating disorder charity Beat, said: “We are extremely concerned at the prospect of funding cuts to children and young people’s eating-disorder services. “These vital services are already on their knees.” It comes after the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Eating Disorders warned “woefully inadequate care” meant lives were being lost and families torn apart. 25. ‘There’s a shift towards buying local’: ********* brewery on tariffs ‘There’s a shift towards buying local’: ********* brewery on tariffs STORY: :: March 4, 2025 :: Port Coquitlam, Canada :: A ********* brewery is ‘buying local’ as Trump’s tariffs take effect :: Phil Smith, Co-owner and head brewer, Tinhouse Brewing Company “What we’re finding from our short term experience with – you know, it has only been two months since the new president took, took office – what we’re finding is there is a shift towards buying *********, buying local, supporting local businesses. We’re seeing an increase in, we’re seeing an increase in business, we’re seeing new faces. We’re seeing new people coming in and drinking our beer.” “The biggest one that’s going to affect us is aluminum. And Canada is one of the top aluminum producers in the world, but we produce raw aluminum and we don’t roll it in Canada. We don’t make the cans in Canada. So we were forced to get them from places like the United States. And in this case, we’ll just shift to the ******** market. That’s the other source for cans.” “We’ve had a lot of American customers through our doors over the years that come in and enjoy our beers. I suspect we’ll lose a substantial amount of that business. If it’s made up for by locals staying local and buying local, then maybe it will net out. I suspect in the end, all of this is going to be a net loss for everybody: Small business, big business, the consumer. Yeah, it’s the unfortunate part of a trade war.” Smith explained to Reuters that 80 percent of its beers are locally sourced, but when they’re brewing a ******* lager, one of his favorites, they will import the necessary materials from Germany. Aluminum, a top raw export from Canada, was previously imported from the US. Not any more. Tinhouse Brewing opened to the public in the months before the COVID-19 pandemic, and although they weathered the storm it was a struggle, according to Smith. While he doesn’t expect the tariffs will shut down their brewery, Smith is concerned about the company’s bottom line. “We’ve had a lot of American customers through our doors over the years and come in and enjoy our beers. I suspect we’ll lose a substantial amount of that business.” Source link #shift #buying #local #********* #brewery #tariffs Pelican News View the full article at [Hidden Content]
