Sir David Attenborough joined by King Charles and sea of celebrities at Ocean film world premiere in London
Sir David Attenborough joined by King Charles and sea of celebrities at Ocean film world premiere in London
Wildlife icon Sir David Attenborough has celebrated the premiere of his latest documentary film in London alongside a high profile guest list that included royals, politicians and entertainment stars.
The debut of his feature-length release — titled Ocean with David Attenborough — took place just two days before the renowned conservationist’s 99th birthday in a sign the personality’s fight for a healthy and harmonious planet is far from over.
Supporting the nonagenarian at the premiere was King Charles III, who himself was backed by Attenborough in 1985 when launching the British Wildlife Appeal at the Natural History Museum which raised more than £16 million ($33 million).
Of the visiting guests, American politician John Carey was seen walking the The Royal Festival Hall’s blue carpet, alongside WA mining giant and philanthropist Andrew Forrest.

British celebrities in attendance included Spice Girl Geri Horner, model Cara Delevigne, actor Theo James, and singer James Blunt.
Attenborough’s film aims to shine a spotlight on the devastating fishing practices damaging sea beds, the effects of climate change on coral reefs, along with the human and animal communities under threat from industrial trawlers.
“The ocean can recover faster than we thought possible,” the naturist says in the film.
“If we just let nature take its course, the sea will save itself.”

The Works of Christo and Jean-Claude Are Experiencing a Revival
The Works of Christo and Jean-Claude Are Experiencing a Revival
It was 42 years ago. Miami awoke to a strange, crooked line of hot pink images floating in the waters of panoramic Biscayne Bay.
Eleven small islands had been wrapped in wide, rippling swaths of pink plastic. They were almost glowing as the morning sun swept over the beaches and skyscrapers of the city. Crowds came out in helicopters and speedboats and the family car. Some people perched on condo balconies.
It was the work of Christo and his wife, Jeanne-Claude, the European artists who had wrapped the Reichstag building in Berlin, the Pont Neuf bridge in Paris and run a billowing, tall white nylon fence 24.5 miles over the cattle ranges just north of San Francisco and into the Pacific Ocean.
People flew in from Europe and around the world to see the show, and collectors and museum directors and many others say it lifted the curtain on Miami as a city of natural beauty that would eventually become a dazzling global art center.
“It was a world happening,” said Norman Braman, a former owner of the Philadelphia Eagles, a collector and a Miami car dealer with about a dozen brands, from Hyundai to Rolls-Royce.
But it was a tough time for Miami. ******** seemed to be everywhere. Gunmen were in the streets. Time magazine had put the city on its cover as “Paradise Lost.” In 1984 — a year after the extravaganza on the bay — the “Miami Vice” TV show took the city’s crime and fashion into American living rooms.
It would be years before the Art Basel fair arrived and Miami really blossomed. But Christo and Jeanne-Claude got Miami moving in the right direction.
“Christo was really a central figure in getting people to see Miami for what it could be,” said Beth Dunlop, the architecture critic for The Miami Herald during the “Surrounded Islands” installation. “We lived in Fort Lauderdale at the time. Neighbors would say, ‘Is it safe to drive to Miami?’”
Now, in an incredible flashback that will linger over the coming year, the lush scene of Miami’s hot pink islands is back. An exhibition of the highlights of “Surrounded Islands” opened in February at the NSU Fort Lauderdale Art Museum and will run through February 2026.
Christo and Jeanne-Claude — both of whom have died — are having something of a revival.
In February and March, the Shed arts center in Manhattan’s Hudson Yards showed a scale model, drawings, photos and some of the arches and dark orange panels of fabric from the couple’s stunning 2005 show in Central Park, “The Gates.” The exhibition was 23 miles of 16-foot-high, thick plastic (polyvinyl chloride) arches — some as wide as 18 feet — with dark orange, fabric panels flapping and billowing against the February snow.
In the new version of “The Gates,” the Christo and Jeanne-Claude Foundation paid for a video phone app that enabled people to walk through Central Park and see the orange fabric swirling around them as if they were back at the exhibition 20 years ago.
Earlier this month, the Yale University Press republished an expanded version of a book it put out in 2004 as Christo and Jeanne-Claude were working toward the opening of “The Gates.” It is called “Christo and Jeanne-Claude, On the Way to The Gates, Central Park, New York City, 20th Anniversary Edition.” The author is John Fineberg, an art historian who worked with the two artists.
In June, the foundation and a ******* partner expect to open a two-week show at the Reichstag, the seat of Germany’s parliament, in Berlin that they had wrapped in silvery fabric and blue ropes in 1995. This time about 30 video projectors will make the front of the Reichstag look similar to the wrapped Reichstag of 1995.
The show at the NSU Fort Lauderdale museum is almost overwhelming. It opens with huge floor-to-ceiling videos and an enormous photograph of one of the islands in pink with the Venetian Causeway streaming toward Miami Beach and Miami’s then spindly skyline rising near the horizon.
The museum walls on a big part of the second floor are covered with photographs, Christo’s drawings and letters from government and environmental leaders and others who debated, protested and praised the project. There’s a shot of Christo in a speedboat with Jeanne-Claude and photographs of the more than 400 workers — some in bikinis — hauling garbage off the islands, lining up and tying down the pink wrapping material.
“It’s a big wow,” said Bonnie Clearwater, the director and chief curator of the museum. “You can really feel it.”
Christo had a long, warm relationship with the Pérez Art Museum Miami, the city’s largest art museum. It rises on the edge of the bay near where the southernmost of the islands were wrapped. The foundation says the Pérez has the fourth largest collection of works by Christo and Jeanne-Claude in the country. In 2018 and 2019 it celebrated the 35th anniversary of the “Surrounded Islands” exhibition and showed the same materials now on the walls of the Fort Lauderdale museum.
In 2024, the artists’ foundation asked a mutual friend of the Pérez museum to see whether the Pérez wanted the “Surrounded Islands” exhibition permanently, said Jonathan Henery, 53, a board member and a full-time staff member. But, “it just didn’t work out,” he said.
Last fall the exhibition arrived at the Fort Lauderdale museum in 31 packing crates from the foundation’s warehouse in Switzerland. Franklin Sirmans, the director of the Pérez museum, did not say why his museum did not take the gift. But he said he was “so happy the work stays in South Florida.”
Christo sold several of the couple’s exhibitions to museums — the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C., the Centre Pompidou in Paris, and to Lars Windhorst, a wealthy ******* businessman who created a long-term display inside the Reichstag. “We don’t talk prices,” Mr. Henery said, “but these are in the tens of thousands of dollars, and in the millions.”
Christo and Jeanne-Claude were compact and energetic. They let their hair grow long. They wore plain, simple clothes. He especially liked jeans and long-sleeved dress shirts. They both liked beige bush jackets.
They had been born on the same day in the same year: June 13, 1935. Their zodiac sign was Gemini, the symbol of lively twins — curious, social, adaptable, quick-witted, great communicators — and they lived it.
Christo Javacheff was born in Gabrovo, Bulgaria; Jeanne-Claude Denat de Guillebon was born thousands of miles to the south in Casablanca, on the Atlantic coast of French Morocco.
They met in Paris in 1958. They married in a civil ceremony there on Nov. 28, 1962, according to the foundation. Their son, Cyril Cristo, was born earlier, on May 11, 1960, in a Paris suburb. Four years later the family sailed to New York on the S.S. France. They lived first at the Chelsea Hotel, then rented two floors in a run-down five-story loft at 48 Howard Street. They eventually bought the loft building and lived there for the rest of their lives. The foundation now operates out of the loft. Jeanne-Claude died in 2009. Christo died in 2020. All their lives they spoke English with a distinct European accent.
Christo was a kind of artist salesman. Environmentalists routinely opposed the couple’s projects. But Christo would not give up. In Miami, it took three years to get the go-ahead. “The Gates” project took 26 years from conception to approval.
Dunlop, the Miami Heralds’ architecture critic, had missed the opening of the “Surrounded Islands” exhibition. She was in Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, giving birth to her only child, Adam. The hospital had spectacular views of the mid bay.
“I woke up in the hospital room and there were the islands,” she said recently. “They were gorgeous. They looked like Monet’s water lilies coming to life. That’s what Christo and Jeanne-Claude had promised. They were gorgeous.”

Trump plans to announce the US will call the Persian Gulf the Arabian Gulf, officials tell AP
Trump plans to announce the US will call the Persian Gulf the Arabian Gulf, officials tell AP
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump plans to announce while on his trip to Saudi Arabia next week that the U.S. will now refer to the Persian Gulf as the Arabian Gulf or the Gulf of Arabia, two U.S. officials told The Associated Press on Tuesday.
Arab nations have pushed for a change to the geographic name of the body of water off the southern coast of Iran, while Iran has maintained its historic ties to the gulf.
The U.S. officials spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive matters. The White House and National Security Council didn’t immediately respond to messages seeking comment.
The Persian Gulf has been widely known by that name since the 16th century, although usage of “Gulf of Arabia” and “Arabian Gulf” is dominant in many countries in the Middle East. The government of Iran — formerly Persia — threatened to sue Google in 2012 over the company’s decision not to label the body of water at all on its maps.
On Google Maps in the U.S., the body of water appears as Persian Gulf (Arabian Gulf). Apple Maps only says the Persian Gulf.
The U.S. military for years has unilaterally referred to the Persian Gulf as the Arabian Gulf in statements and images it releases.
The name of the body of water has become an emotive issue for Iranians who embrace their country’s long history as the Persian Empire. A spat developed in 2017 during Trump’s first term when he used the name Arabian Gulf for the waterway. Iran’s president at the time, Hassan Rouhani, suggested Trump needed to “study geography.”
“Everyone knew Trump’s friendship was for ***** to the highest bidder. We now know that his geography is, too,” Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif wrote online at the time.
Trump can change the name for official U.S. purposes, but he can’t dictate what the rest of the world calls it.
The International Hydrographic Organization — of which the United States is a member — works to ensure all the world’s seas, oceans and navigable waters are surveyed and charted uniformly, and also names some of them. There are instances where countries refer to the same body of water or landmark by different names in their own documentation.
In addition to Saudi Arabia, Trump is also set to visit Doha, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, which also lie on the body of water. Originally planned as Trump’s first trip overseas since he took office on Jan. 20, it comes as Trump has tried to draw closer to the Gulf countries as he seeks their financial investment in the U.S. and support in regional conflicts, including resolving the Israel-****** war in Gaza and limiting Iran’s advancing nuclear program.
The U.S. president also has significant financial ties to the countries through his personal businesses, over which he has retained ownership from the Oval Office.
The move comes several months after Trump said the U.S. would refer to the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America.
The Associated Press sued the Trump administration earlier this year after the White House barred its journalists from covering most events because of the organization’s decision not to follow the president’s executive order to rename the Gulf of Mexico as the “Gulf of America” within the United States.
U.S. District Judge Trevor N. McFadden, an appointee of President Donald Trump, ruled last month that the First Amendment protects the AP from government retaliation over its word choice and ordered the outlet’s access to be reinstated.

Quantum correlations are the strongest ones ever measured
SAKKMESTERKE/SCIENCE PHOTO LIBRARY
The strange connections between quantum objects are the strongest relationships physicists can detect – and the mathematics of graphs may help explain why that is.
“We are touching the question of, in some way, why quantum theory is as it is,” says Carlos Vieira at the State University of Campinas in Brazil. Together with José Nogueira and Marcelo Terra Cunha, also at the State University of Campinas, he has now offered one mathematically compelling answer…

Matildas great raring for another home Asian Cup
Matildas great raring for another home Asian Cup
Last time Australia hosted a Women’s Asian Cup, Sarah Walsh was a 21-year-old Matildas striker and overwhelmed by a crowd of 5000 in Adelaide.
Nineteen years on, she’s the chief operating officer of the local organising committee (LOC) out to capitalise on “Matildas mania” and fill some of Australia’s biggest stadiums.
Perth, Sydney and the Gold Coast will host next year’s tournament, which runs from March 1-21, with hopes it can be the biggest yet.
“We had such a fantastic time in 2006 and I wouldn’t change a thing,” Walsh told AAP.
“But to think about what we’re building for 2026 right now for a women’s football tournament, it’s not going to be the spend of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, but it is going to be the best ever women’s Asian Cup ever delivered.
“When you reflect 20 years on, it is just so fantastic to see so many things are different.”
Every Matildas game is expected to be a sellout, and Walsh is also expecting big crowds for games featuring already-qualified Japan, South Korea and China.
Eight more countries will reach the tournament through the 34-team qualifiers held across Asia between June 23 and July 5.
“It was a 5000-strong crowd at the final I played in against China. And most of that crowd were there supporting China. No joke, there was a sea of red,” Walsh said.
“But I’m looking forward to seeing how we bring those fans out again to fill the stands for a China match, wherever they land after the draw.
“Who would have thought – definitely not 21-year-old me – we’d be opening in Perth Stadium and closing in Stadium Australia?
“Some of the things that my team are planning around opening and closing ceremonies, these are Olympic-level conversations.
“It’s just pretty exciting to know at the heart of what we are developing and planning are women’s sporting teams.
“It’s exciting to see how far we’ve come, not just the investment, but what we can actually deliver off the back of that investment.”
Speaking as part of Female Football Week, which runs from May 2-11, Walsh hopes the Asian Cup can connect football with different Asian communities throughout Australia.
“We’re thinking very, very deeply about how we can start to connect kids and families already playing the game with Asian ancestry,” Walsh said.
“Or (those) not playing the game, we might actually introduce them to the game through the Asian Cup.”
Walsh is well aware of the impact a deep run from the Matildas, set to be coached by Melburnian Joe Montemurro, can have on the tournament’s momentum overall.
“For us, we have to think about the broader tournament and what that might look like,” Walsh said.
“But there’s no doubt having a strong host nation – we saw that with the Women’s World Cup here in Australia – not only drives local media interest, but it obviously builds that momentum you need.
“But it’s only one factor in the success of the tournament.”

SK Group Chairman Chey apologises for massive data leak at SK Telecom
SK Group Chairman Chey apologises for massive data leak at SK Telecom
SEOUL (Reuters) -SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won apologised on Wednesday for a massive data leak at South Korea’s largest mobile carrier, SK Telecom, which has caused concern among its 23 million users over the possible theft of personal and financial information.
The data breach, which SK attributed to a malware attack, was detected on April 18 and subscribers have rushed to the carrier’s outlets to replace mobile phone Universal Subscriber Identity Module (USIM) cards, which the company is offering free of charge.
Speaking publicly for the first time since the news, Chey apologised for the concern and inconvenience to customers caused by the data breach and vowed to conduct a sweeping data security review involving outside experts.
“What I realised over this is that we’ve considered it an IT security matter and had people in that area handle it,” Chey said when asked what he personally took away from the incident.
“I believe we need to look at this as a matter of national defence, not just (data) security.”
SK Telecom has urged customers to sign up for its USIM Protection Service, which it said provided the same level of prevention as replacing a USIM card. Chey said he has signed up for the service but has not had his USIM card replaced yet.

David Koch says Port Adelaide ‘incredibly angry’ with ******* Rioli over threats to Bulldogs, Geelong, Bombers
David Koch says Port Adelaide ‘incredibly angry’ with ******* Rioli over threats to Bulldogs, Geelong, Bombers
Port Adelaide President David Koch says the club is “incredibly angry” with ******* Rioli after it was revealed the AFL is re-investigating the troubled Port star over threats to multiple players during the last two years.
Koch’s response comes as Essendon coach Brad Scott said his club had no interest in pursuing the alleged threat Rioli made against one of his players.
Rioli escaped any sanction for a threat made towards Bulldogs player Bailey Dale via text message to Dale’s teammate, but it has now been reported he also made threats on the field in games against Geelong in 2024 and Essendon in Round 3 this season.
Port coach Ken Hinkley is due to speak today and it is unclear if Rioli will now play in the Showdown against Adelaide on Saturday.
“We’re incredibly angry about the situation and ******* knows that. And what’s said on the field is one thing. What’s done off the field — particularly on social media — and a private message to another player who he thought would stay private but then was passed on, it gets very complicated,” Koch said on Adelaide radio.
“We’ve talked pretty sternly to ******* about it and said it’s just not on.
“On field in the heat of the battle is one thing. Off-field and on social media is totally different. That’s why we’re really angry with ******* and what he did, and there’s absolutely no excusing that, and don’t get me wrong on it. But we’ve got a duty of care to support the players and turn a bit of attention on what society is doing to these players.”
On Tuesday night, Channel 7 AFL analyst Caroline Wilson revealed Rioli had threatened a Geelong player last year, which she described as a “violent” threat and “bordering on horrific”.
“(It was a) pretty violent, bordering on horrific, threat that was made to a Geelong player by ******* Rioli,” she told The Agenda Setters.
“A lot of players heard it. I’m told the response from the Port Adelaide players, those who were within earshot, was a bit, ‘Oh no, not this again.’
“And the Geelong player who was threatened chose not to go on with it—didn’t want the incident reported to the AFL. But Geelong’s footy boss Andrew Mackie took the decision to refer the matter to (AFL footy boss) Laura Kane.
“Geelong felt that it was just something that needed to be put on the record.”
But the Cats on Wednesday said it did not progress to the point of involving the AFL.
“The club can confirm the matter was not raised with the AFL. The club spoke directly with Port Adelaide after the match and considered the matter dealt with,” Geelong said.
On Wednesday Scott said his club has “zero issues” with Rioli, declaring “what happens on the field, stays on the field”.
Scott conceded community expectations had changed as to what was allowable, and made it clear he expected his and all players to stay away from the sort of racial and homophobic slurs which have drawn heavy penalties and heavy scorn in recent years.
But he said in the “combative” AFL arena, he fully expected players would become involved in heated exchanges nd none of his players were moved to take anything said by Rioli any further.
“It’s not an Essendon issue. Our players have zero concerns,” Scott said.
“There are community expectations around player behaviour on and off the field, but within those expectations I have a pretty firm belief of what happens on the field should stay on the field, provided that it’s within general community expectations.
“Our players feel that whatever was said or done on field against Port Adelaide should stay on the field, we’re not interested in engaging further.”
Scott conceded, however, that off-field indiscretions should be treated differently.
“Across the decades, expectations have quite rightly changes in line with broader community expectations,” he said.
“I think the AFL have been leaders in tackling issues like racism. We absolutely know that there is no space or place for racism on or off the field.
“But on field, it is a competitive environment, and what would be defined as a threat could be a pretty loose term. we play a combative, competitive sport and I would expect our players to be combative, expect than to do that within the realms of sportsmanship, there’s certainly a place for what happens on the field stays on the field.
“But I’d stress again, provided it’s within what we all know are community expectations of levels of behaviour.
“Our game was played, there were no reports made. Our players, and I’ve canvassed them, have absolutely no issue.”
Former Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley said he was concerned about “double jeopardy” given Rioli was initially unpenalised, but said the AFL could have “:been stronger”.
“There are different layers of sanction that you can place … there is obviously a slap on the wrist … there is conduct unbecoming and a fine, and there is conduct unbecoming and a suspension,” Buckley said on SEN.
“Could the AFL have been stronger? I guarantee now they wish they were stronger now that more (allegations) have come (forward).”
The 29-year-old former West Coast Eagle was in hot water after Port’s big win over the Hawks in the Gather Round finale last month when he posted on Instagram how much he ‘hated’ Hawthorn over how the club had treated his family.
His father, ******* Senior, was mocked by Hawks great Jason Dunstall during a Hall of Fame speech last year, and his relative Cyril Rioli was involved in a lawsuit for historical racism against the club that was settled out of court in 2024.
He took leave from the club after the Hawks match before returning to play in Port’s 85-77 win over the Swans in Round 6.

North Korean leader urges increased artillery shell production amid alignment with Russia
North Korean leader urges increased artillery shell production amid alignment with Russia
SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has called for his munitions industry to boost the production of artillery shells, state media said Wednesday, as the country continues to supply arms and troops to support Russia’s war on Ukraine.
North Korea’s official Korean Central News Agency said that Kim, during recent visits to unspecified munitions and machinery factories, praised modernization efforts that the agency claimed enabled the facilities to double their annual shell production capacity.
Kim urged workers to further accelerate artillery shell production, calling it crucial to “strengthening the fighting efficiency” of his armed forces, and also called for the development of more advanced machinery to boost munitions output. KCNA did not mention any comments from Kim regarding his support for Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.
Recent South Korean intelligence assessments suggest that North Korea has sent about 15,000 soldiers to Russia, and that nearly 5,000 of them have been killed or injured while fighting against Ukrainian forces. Washington and Seoul have also accused North Korea of supplying Russia with various types of military equipment, including artillery systems and shells and ballistic missiles.
After denying its war involvement for months, North Korea last month confirmed for the first time that it had sent combat troops to help Russia in recapturing parts of the Kursk region, which had fallen to a surprise Ukrainian incursion last year. Moscow also acknowledged the North Korean involvement, with Putin issuing a statement thanking the North for sending troops to support his forces and promising not to forget their sacrifices.
Analysts say North Korea’s official acknowledgment of its military support for Russia is likely aimed at cementing a deeper, long-term partnership with Moscow and securing greater compensation, potentially including advanced military technology that could enhance the threat posed by Kim’s nuclear-armed forces.
By formalizing its role as a participant in the war, North Korea may also be positioning itself to seek compensation in future negotiations to end the conflict in Ukraine, according to a recent report by the Institute for National Security Strategy, a think tank affiliated with South Korea’s intelligence agency.
In a closed-door briefing to lawmakers last month, South Korea’s National Intelligence Service also said it believes that North Korea has sent about 15,000 workers to Russia under bilateral industrial cooperation programs.
While the value of North Korean artillery and missiles supplied to Russia likely amounts to billions of dollars, there are no immediate signs that Russia has provided direct cash payments in return, the agency said. Instead, Russia has likely compensated North Korea with air defense missiles, electronic warfare equipment, drones and technology for spy satellite launches, according to the assessment.

Trump administration abruptly removes the vice chair of the National Transportation Safety Board
Trump administration abruptly removes the vice chair of the National Transportation Safety Board
The vice chair of the National Transportation Safety Board has been abruptly removed from his position, the White House confirmed Tuesday, a rare move that comes as the agency investigates more than 1,000 cases.
The Trump administration removed Alvin Brown a little more than a year after he was sworn in. The White House didn’t say why he was removed.
The decision comes as NTSB investigates nearly 1,250 active cases across the U.S., while supporting more than 160 foreign investigations, according to March testimony by NTSB Chairwoman Jennifer Homendy.
The investigations include the deadly midair collision between a passenger jet and Army helicopter in Washington, D.C., that killed 67 people in January and the medical transport plane that plummeted into a Philadelphia neighborhood in January, killing eight people.
Jeff Guzzetti, a former National Transportation Safety Board and FAA accident investigator, said he has never seen an administration remove a member of the board.
Board members have been known to stay on after their term is over if the administration hasn’t appointed anyone yet and then they leave once the next administration selects someone, he said.
“That happens a lot over the years, but that’s normal and expected because you served your term and now it’s time for someone else to serve in there,” he said. “But this wasn’t that. This was just more abrupt and directly from the administration,n and I don’t know what the impetus is.”
By Tuesday evening, Brown’s photo and biography had already been removed from NTSB’s website.
The agency includes five board members who serve five year terms, according to the NTSB website. They are nominated by the president and confirmed by the Senate. The chairman and vice chairman are both designated by the president and serve for three years. By Tuesday evening, the website only showed four members of the board.
Brown was sworn in as a member of the board in April 2024 after being nominated by then-President Joe Biden and confirmed by the Senate to fill one of two vacancies. His term was expected to run through 2026, according to an NTSB press release at the time. He was the only ****** member of the board.
He was the mayor of Jacksonville, Florida, from 2011 to 2015 and joined the board after serving as senior adviser for community infrastructure opportunities for the U.S. Department of Transportation, according to the release.
NTSB typically works on about 2,200 domestic and 450 foreign cases each year, according to Homendy. She said she expects “the number of cases annually to remain high and continue to increase in complexity.”

Truro police mark 5th anniversary of Dylan Ehler’s disappearance
Truro police mark 5th anniversary of Dylan Ehler’s disappearance
Five years after he was last seen in his grandmother’s yard, the Truro Police Service is looking for information to help solve the disappearance of Dylan Ehler.
The three-year-old boy vanished in May 2020 while playing outside his grandmother’s house in Truro, N.S. After a six-day search, no trace of him was found other than his boots.
Firefighters found one of Dylan’s boots in the water of Lepper Brook, a stream close to the grandmother’s home. The other boot was found further down the brook at the mouth of the Salmon River.
In a post to social media on Tuesday, police shared photos of the boy along with age progression illustrations and images of the clothes he was wearing the day he went missing. Police said his disappearance remains an active investigation.

NSW government to introduce new laws to target ‘scourge’ of cybercrime fraud
NSW government to introduce new laws to target ‘scourge’ of cybercrime fraud
The NSW government is set to bring in sweeping changes to protect people at risk of identity fraud, after Australians lost more than $2bn to cyber-scams just last year.
The state government will introduce legislation on Wednesday to establish a new fraud check service that will allow government and other accredited agencies to confirm whether a person’s identity document (ID) details have been stolen or compromised.
It would be aimed at empowering agencies to stop criminals misusing people’s details to apply for grants or credit, and underpin efforts to help residents secure their ID info and avoid scams and thefts through the work of ID Support NSW.
Digital Government Minister ****** Dib said the legislation, known as the Identity Protection and Recovery Bill, would help protect residents in NSW against cybercriminals after more than 67,000 scams were reported to ScamWatch across Australia in 2024.
“These new laws will help safeguard NSW residents against cyber criminals and the scourge of identity theft, especially when it targets our most vulnerable citizens who can least afford it,” Mr Dib said.

“By alerting people quickly and supporting them to secure their identity and replace compromised ID documents, NSW residents will be better protected from impersonation, scams and fraud.
“The new Compromised Credential Register will enable these early notifications to both individuals and agencies, and will send up a red flag when someone tries to use an ID document that has been stolen or compromised.”
First launched in late 2021, ID Support NSW notifies residents when a data breach has occurred and helps them to replace any government documents.
It also provides community outreach and education about identity theft, privacy, and cyber security resilience.
Under the new bill, ID Support will operate as the “core government provider of identity protection and recovery services”, including setting up the Compromised Credential Register to provide a fraud check service for IDs, such as NSW driver’s licences and photo cards.
Once it is known an ID document has potentially been compromised – including a person’s personal details, driver’s license, and card number that may be on the dark web – it will be added to the register and the resident and issuing authority would then be notified.

Truck crossed center line in ****** with tour van that killed 7 near Yellowstone, police say
Truck crossed center line in ****** with tour van that killed 7 near Yellowstone, police say
A pickup truck that collided with a tour van near Yellowstone National Park last week, killing seven people, crossed the highway’s center line and hit the van, according to Idaho State Police.
Investigating troopers have determined that the Dodge Ram pickup crossed the line on U.S. Highway 20 and struck the Mercedes passenger van, Police said in a Tuesday statement. Police are still investigating what caused the driver to veer into oncoming traffic.
There was a group of twelve ******** tourists and an Italian tourist on board the van, in addition to the driver. Five of the ******** tourists, the Italian tourist and the pickup driver died in the ******, according to police, the ******** Consulate General in San Francisco and the Italian Consulate General in San Francisco.
Police previously identified the pickup driver as Isaih Moreno, 25, of Humble, Texas.
The ****** happened Thursday evening near Henry’s Lake State Park in eastern Idaho. The state park is roughly 16 miles (26 kilometers) west of Yellowstone National Park.
The truck was traveling west while the van was traveling east toward Yellowstone when it happened. Video from the scene showed clear weather conditions at the time.
Both vehicles caught fire after colliding, police said. DNA tests results will be needed to identify the other people who died, according to police. The eight other people in the van were injured, police said.
Because a commercial vehicle was involved and because of the magnitude of the ******, the National Transportation Safety Board is also conducting an independent investigation, police said. NTSB personnel have visited the scene and are reviewing evidence, according to police.
According to the most recent data from the International Trade Administration, 36% of international visitors who arrived to the U.S. by air listed visits to national parks and national monuments as their top leisure activity while in the country.

Voting due to start to elect a new pope
Voting due to start to elect a new pope
Laura Gozzi
BBC News
Reporting fromVatican City******** MEDIA / HANDOUT
Voting desks for 133 cardinals have been set up inside the Sistine Chapel ahead of the conclave.
On Wednesday evening, under the domed ceiling of Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel, 133 cardinals will vote to elect the Catholic Church’s 267th pope.
The day will begin at 10:00 (09:00 BST) with a mass in St Peter’s Basilica. The service, which will be televised, will be presided over by Giovanni Battista Re, the 91-year-old Cardinal Dean who was also the celebrant of Pope Francis’ ********.
In the early afternoon, mobile signal within the territory of the ******** will be deactivated to prevent anyone taking part in the conclave from contacting the outside world.
Around 16:15 (15:15 BST), the 133 cardinal electors will gather in the Pauline Chapel and form a procession to the Sistine Chapel.
All the while they will be singing a litany and the hymn Veni Creator – an invocation to the Holy Spirit, which is seen as the guiding hand that will help cardinals choose the new Pope.
Once in the Sistine Chapel, one hand resting on a copy of the Gospel, the cardinals will pronounce the prescribed oath of secrecy which precludes them from ever sharing details about how the new Pope was elected.
When the last of the electors has taken the oath, a meditation will be held. Then, the Master of Pontifical Liturgical Celebrations Diego Ravelli will announce “extra omnes” (“everybody out”).
He is one of three ecclesiastical staff allowed to stay in the Sistine Chapel despite not being a cardinal elector, even though they will have to leave the premises during the counting of the votes.
The moment “extra omnes” is pronounced marks the start of the cardinals’ isolation – and the start of the conclave.
The word, which comes from the Latin for “**** clave”, or “locked with key” is slightly misleading, as the cardinals are no longer locked inside; rather, on Tuesday ******** officials closed the entrances to the Apostolic Palace – which includes the Sistine Chapel- with lead seals which will remain until the end of the proceedings. Swiss guards will also flank all the entrances to the chapel.

Cardinals gathered during the ******** of Pope Francis at Saint Peter’s Square in ******** in April
Diego Ravelli will distribute ballot papers, and the cardinals will proceed to the first vote soon after.
While nothing forbids the Pope from being elected with the first vote, it has not happened in centuries. Still, that first ballot is very important, says Austen Ivereigh, a Catholic writer and commentator.
“The cardinals who have more than 20 votes will be taken into consideration. In the first ballot the votes will be very scattered and the electors know they have to concentrate on the ones that have numbers,” says Ivereigh.
He adds that every other ballot thereafter will indicate which of the cardinals have the momentum. “It’s almost like a political campaign… but it’s not really a competition; it’s an effort by the body to find consensus.”
If the vote doesn’t yield the two-third majority needed to elect the new pope, the cardinals go back to guesthouse Casa Santa Marta for dinner. It is then, on the sidelines of the voting process, that important conversations among the cardinals take place and consensus begins to coalesce around different names.
According to Italian media, the menu options consist of light dishes which are usually served to guests of the residence, and includes wine – but no spirits. The waiters and kitchen staff are also sworn to secrecy and cannot leave the grounds for the duration of the conclave.

Pope Francis died at the age of 88 on Easter Monday 2025
From Thursday morning, cardinals will be taking breakfast between 06:30 (05:30 BST) and 07:30 (06:30 BST) ahead of mass at 08:15 (07:15 BST). Two votes then take place in the morning, followed by lunch and rest. In his memoirs, Pope Francis said that was when he began to receive signals from the other cardinals that serious consensus was beginning to form around him; he was elected during the first afternoon vote. The last two conclaves have all concluded by the end of the second day.
There is no way of knowing at this stage whether this will be a long or a short conclave – but cardinals are aware that dragging the proceedings on could be interpreted as a sign of gaping disagreements.
As they discuss, pray and vote, outside the boarded-up windows of the Sistine Chapel thousands of faithful will be looking up to the chimney to the right of St Peter’s Basilica, waiting for the white plume of smoke to signal that the next pope has been elected.

Prominent Wall Street analyst Dan Ives has highlighted Palantir Technologies Inc. (NYSE:PLTR) as “the missing piece in the AI puzzle” just a day before the company’s highly anticipated earnings report on Monday.
What Happened: “Karp & Co. are a major barometer for the pace of U.S. commercial AI projects and initiatives and we expect good news from the Messi of AI on Monday,” the Wedbush Securities analyst wrote on social media platform X on Sunday, referring to Palantir CEO Alex Karp. Ives said Palantir remains “one of our top tech names to own.”
The endorsement comes as Palantir shares trade near all-time highs, surging 392% in the past year. During Friday’s session, the stock climbed 6.95% to $124.28 amid building investor enthusiasm.
Trending: If there was a new fund backed by Jeff Bezos offering a 7-9% target yield with monthly dividends would you invest in it?
Palantir has secured several high-profile defense contracts recently, including delivering two battlefield TITAN systems to the U.S. Army and announcing a new partnership with NATO Allied Command Operations to provide AI-powered military technology. The company’s Maven Smart System aims to enhance battlefield decision-making through advanced artificial intelligence.

Why It Matters: In the fourth quarter of 2024, Palantir posted $827.52 million in revenue and 14 cents in adjusted earnings per share, beating analyst estimates. U.S. revenue grew 52% year-over-year, and the company closed 129 deals worth over $1 million.
For the first quarter of 2025, analysts expect earnings of 13 cents per share on revenue of $862.83 million. The company has projected full-year 2025 revenue of up to $3.76 billion.
While Ives remains bullish, not all analysts share his optimism. RBC Capital maintains an Underperform rating with a $40 price target, highlighting the divided sentiment on Wall Street regarding Palantir’s valuation.
