  1. How to manage your Linux resources with Mission Center How to manage your Linux resources with Mission Center Ubuntu has a great System Monitor tool already built into the OS. And, there are also a plethora of terminal based alternatives such as htop, bashtop, or just plain ol’ top. These all work great but what if you want to try something different? Mission Center, created by Romeo Calota, is a more user-friendly system monitoring tool that covers CPU, GPU, RAM, disks (including SMART functionality), network and fan speeds for Linux machines. We’ve installed it onto our test machine, an 8th gen Intel Lenovo X390 laptop and we’ll walk you through installation and configuration. The user interface is very “Windows 11” but that is not a backhanded compliment. The UI is clear and easy to use, versus terminal applications which while useful, can be a little overwhelming for new users. Mission Center Key Features Monitor overall or per-thread CPU usage See system process, thread, and handle count, uptime, clock speed (base and current), cache sizes Monitor RAM and Swap usage See a breakdown how the memory is being used by the system Monitor Disk utilization and transfer rates Monitor network utilization and transfer speeds See network interface information such as network card name, connection type (Wi-Fi or Ethernet), wireless speeds and frequency, hardware address, IP address Monitor overall GPU usage, video encoder and decoder usage, memory usage and power consumption, powered by the popular NVTOP project Monitor system fans See a breakdown of resource usage by app and process Supports a minified summary view for simple monitoring Use hardware accelerated rendering for all the graphs in an effort to reduce CPU and overall resource usage Uses GTK4 and Libadwaita Written in Rust Installation There are many ways to install Mission Center on your Linux machine. The Flatpak can be installed via Flathub, there is a self-contained app image release that can be used on many Linux distros. For this how to, we’ll focus on installing a Snap package on Ubuntu 25.04. Snaps are Canonical’s sandboxed application installer which enables apps to talk to the underlying OS, but not make any major changes. 1. Press the Super (Windows) key and search for “app”. Click on the App Center icon. (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) 2. Search for Mission Center and select it from the drop down list. (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) 3. Ensuring that the latest stable release is selected, click on Install. Get Tom’s Hardware’s best news and in-depth reviews, straight to your inbox. (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) 4. Enter your password to authorize the installation. Installation should take just a few seconds. (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) 5. Close the App Center. 6. Press the Super (Windows) key and search for Mission. Click on the Mission Center icon to run the app. (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) Those who prefer the terminal can install the Mission Center snap package via the terminal using the following command. When installed, go to step 6 above and launch the app. sudo apt update sudo apt install snapd sudo snap install mission-center Using Mission Center (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) Mission Center, by default, will show all of the attached hardware that it can monitor. In the case of our Lenovo X390 laptop it could see: CPU RAM NVMe SSD Wired Networking Wi-Fi GPU CPU Fan Speed But, if you have the hardware it can also see your Nvidia GPU. Monitoring Performance Clicking on each device, found on the left hand side of the app, will show the performance of said device. By default, the graph will update every second but this can be changed. 1. Click on the hamburger icon in the top right corner and select “Preferences”. (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) 2. Under General (top entry) change the interval as you see fit. (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) 3. Click on the X to close the popup dialog. The graph should now update according to your interval, but it may appear “jumpy”, if you would prefer a smoother, sliding graph. 1. Click on the hamburger icon in the top right corner and select “Preferences”. (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) 2. Under Performance Page change set Smooth Graphs and Sliding Graphs to On. This will smooth out the lines drawn for the graph, and animate the graph’s progress using a slide. You will see a performance hit though, so enable this at your own risk. (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) 3. Click on the X to close the popup dialog. App Monitoring Mission Center can also monitor the running apps and processes. We can see the RAM, CPU and Drive usage of each app and process. And in the same manner as htop or top etc, we can stop or force stop running apps / processes 1. Click on the Apps tab at the top of the Mission Center window. (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) 2. Open another application, we opened Google Chrome. 3. Click on the app in Mission Center. You can click on the dropdown next to the app, this will show all of the running instances for the app. (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) 4. Click on Details. (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) 5. The new dialog box will tell you all of the resources used by the app / process. Click on the X to close the dialog. (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) 6. In the top right corner, click on Force Stop to close the application (Google Chrome). This will, abruptly, force close the application. It is sudden and quite hostile, so only do this to a real application if it has truly crashed. (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) Monitoring Services Mission Center’s third tab shows all of the running services that work behind the scenes. These can be services for Bluetooth, system security and mounting drives. By examining the details of the selected service, we can see who is the owner of the service, its status and enable / disable a service (if we have the correct permissions, or run the application with sudo). 1. Click on the Services tab at the top of the Mission Center window. (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) 2. Select a running service. (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) 3. Click on Details. (Image credit: Tom’s Hardware) 4. Service details are now displayed, including a means to enable / disable a service should you have the permissions to do so. Click on the X to close the dialog. 2. Wallabies star Lolesio suffers suspected spinal injury Wallabies star Lolesio suffers suspected spinal injury Wallabies flyhalf Noah Lolesio has been stretchered off with a reported spinal injury in the first half of the Western Force’s Super Rugby Pacific hosting of the ACT Brumbies in Perth. The Brumbies’ and incumbent *********** No.10 was twisted in a seemingly accidental off-the-ball play while trying to repel a Force attack on his goal line in the 20th minute of Saturday night’s derby. It was initially unclear if Lolesio had suffered a back, hip or leg injury in the incident. But Stan Sport’s sideline commentator and former Wallabies star Cameron Shepherd said Lolesio had sustained a spinal injury. “We don’t want to speculate too much at the moment because there’s a lot of scans and a lot of checks that need to be done,” Shepherd said. “But the one small bit of good news is that he is moving his arms and legs. “They have confirmed it is a spinal injury. At the moment, we just don’t understand the severity. “But, fingers crossed, moving his arms and legs is obviously a very, very good sign.” Lolesio’s injury comes almost exactly 24 hours after fellow Wallabies star Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii was escorted off the field on a medicab and in a neck brace during another *********** derby between his NSW Waratahs and the Queensland Reds in Sydney. Suaalii was knocked out after copping an accidental knee to the head from his Waratahs and Wallabies teammate Andrew Kellaway. Waratahs coach Dan McKellar said post-match Suaalii went home with his parents in a “groggy” concussed state. Concerned Wallabies coach Joe Schmidt was watching on at Allianz Stadium. While Lolesio will most likely be overlooked for Test selection in 2025 after opting to move to Japan at season’s end, his injury is another potential huge blow for Schmidt ahead of the looming arrival of the British and Irish Lions for a three-Test series this winter. 4. In-N-Out Burger adds three new California locations to list of 2025 openings In-N-Out Burger adds three new California locations to list of 2025 openings In-N-Out is expanding to seven new locations in and outside California in 2025. (Robbin Goddard/Los Angeles Times) In-N-Out Burger is expanding its footprint in California and beyond. The beloved burger joint recently added to its Grand Openings catalog three new locations in California: Indio, Modesto and Monrovia. The trio of stores will open in 2025 alongside a previously announced Sylmar, Calif., site and three other locations across Arizona, Colorado and Washington — the last of which marks In-N-Out’s debut in the state. The first of the new restaurants, in Brighton, Colo., opened its doors Friday, said In-N-Out spokersperson Kathleen Hardesty said in a statement. . The remaining stores are currently under construction and slated to open this year, Hardesty said, adding that “given the unpredictable nature of the development process, we’re unable to provide specific opening dates at this time.” Read more: Why In-N-Out has barely changed its business for 75 years — not even its fries In-N-Out currently operates in eight states, with just over two-thirds of its stores located in California. Much of the burger chain’s expansion in recent years has targeted areas with high population growth, said Jim Salera, a restaurant industry analyst at Stephens. That includes both inland cities in California and out-of-state hot spots. “California was always a state that had a faster growing population, and now you see that more in areas like Arizona, Texas, Florida, Tennessee,” Salera said. “I don’t think it’s coincidental that if you start to look at places where these restaurants are opening up new spots, it’s that same list of states.” Read more: Sunny but expensive: Thousands more workers left California than arrived during a stretch last year. Here’s where they went. In-N-Out’s continued out-of-state expansion isn’t about fleeing California, Salera said, although labor inflation and rising costs of operation in the state could factor into the equation. “It’s more just an optimization of their footprint,” Salera said. By opening locations outside California, the company prevents its current stores from cannibalizing each other’s sales — among the reasons Shake Shack cited for its recent L.A. closures. The move also capitalizes on the market opportunity presented by domestic migration. “It’s easier to sell to somebody who already knows you,” Salera said, noting that California expats in the Pacific Northwest and the Sun Belt are safe bets for business. Read more: Contributor: California’s population bump won’t make up for its long term slide Story Continues In-N-Out opened its first location outside of California in 1992 in Las Vegas. In 2023, the company announced it would move further east with a handful of restaurants and an eastern territory office set to open in Tennessee in 2026. Earlier this year, the company announced it will shutter its Orange County corporate office, where the company has been based since 1994, and relocate employees back to Baldwin Park, where its founders first opened a drive-through restaurant in the 1940s. In-N-Out’s third-generation, owner Lynsi Snyder, said at the time of the corporate consolidation that her family “would be in support of this move because it brings our In-N-Out family back together in a way that helps us better serve our Customers, who are the most important priority.” Read more: In-N-Out ends secret menu price hack — here’s the proof In-N-Out’s new locations are as follows: 1. Despelote Review – A Celebration of Childhood & Collective Joy | Cultured Vultures Despelote Review – A Celebration of Childhood & Collective Joy | Cultured Vultures WTMG’s Leo Faria: “Despelote is not awful… it’s just very confusing. I appreciate the interesting premise and presentation, but it’s just somewhat devoid of elements that make it a proper “game”. Even the football-related gameplay (or what little of it is present) feels clunky and shallow. I also think the story could have been more focused on the innocence and lack of urgency in the life of a child – it would have made it a lot more relatable. Maybe turning this autobiographical tale into a game wasn’t the best idea, as an experimental animation featuring the exact same art style would have made it stand out even more.” Source link #Despelote #Review #Celebration #Childhood #Collective #Joy #Cultured #Vultures Pelican News View the full article at [Hidden Content]

South of Midnight (XS) Review | VGChartz South of Midnight (XS) Review | VGChartz VGChartz’s Lee Mehr: “In the end, South of Midnight’s dividing line is the contrast between its artistically-inspired choices and pre-packaged gameplay. Emphasizing the latter is perfectly reasonable; how you reach a conclusion plays a significant role alongside the who, what, where, and why. And seeing such propulsive enthusiasm within its few boss encounters not replicated more broadly does create a certain whiplash. However, my own teetering point stems from seeing Compulsion’s latest as – strangely – a collected sum of its parts, as if entrenching a standardized foundation was necessary to focus those creative energies everywhere else.” Source link #South #Midnight #Review #VGChartz Pelican News View the full article at [Hidden Content]

  12. 3 Stocks That Will Be Worth More Than Palantir Technologies 5 Years From Now 3 Stocks That Will Be Worth More Than Palantir Technologies 5 Years From Now Intuitive Surgical is smaller than Palantir, but could be the ******* winner by the end of the decade. Alibaba could widen its market cap gap with Palantir thanks to artificial intelligence (AI) tailwinds. Google parent Alphabet’s challenges shouldn’t diminish its current huge size advantage over Palantir. 10 stocks we like better than Alibaba Group › Few stocks have sizzled as much as Palantir Technologies (NASDAQ: PLTR) over the last 12 months. Shares of the data analytics software provider more than quadrupled during the *******. Palantir stock is up more than 40% year to date. However, Palantir isn’t anywhere near the top of the list of stocks I think will be the biggest winners for investors over the long run. And some of those stocks could outperform through the rest of this decade, too. I predict three stocks will be worth more than Palantir five years from now. Intuitive Surgical’s (NASDAQ: ISRG) market cap is roughly $70 billion smaller than Palantir’s right now. But I suspect the tables could be turned in the not-too-distant future. Granted, Palantir is growing more rapidly. However, Intuitive Surgical continues to deliver impressive growth, too. The robotic systems pioneer’s revenue jumped 19% year over year in the first quarter of 2025. Procedure volume for Intuitive’s da Vinci robotic systems should increase by 15% to 17% this year. Importantly, Intuitive Surgical looks like a bargain compared to Palantir. Sure, Intuitive’s shares trade at a sky-high forward price-to-earnings ratio of 68. That seems almost cheap, though, when stacked up against Palantir’s nosebleed forward earnings multiple of 196. What I like most about Intuitive Surgical is the high probability of strong future growth. Around 2.7 million procedures were performed using da Vinci last year. Intuitive estimates roughly 8 million procedures are done annually for which it already has products and clearances. The company is targeting approximately 22 million soft-tissue procedures with products and clearances under development. Image source: Intuitive Surgical. Alibaba Group (NYSE: BABA) is already somewhat larger than Palantir. Based on the two companies’ recent revenue growth, though, some might think this dynamic could change relatively soon. I predict, though, that Alibaba will widen its market cap gap over Palantir over the next five years. Valuation plays a big factor in my projection. We’ve already seen how mind-blowingly high Palantir’s forward earnings multiple is. Meanwhile, Alibaba’s shares trade at only 12.5 times forward earnings. The company’s growth prospects make its valuation look even more attractive: Alibaba’s price-to-earnings-to-growth (PEG) ratio based on analysts’ five-year earnings projections is a low 0.71. Story Continues Artificial intelligence (AI) demand could serve as a ******* tailwind for Alibaba than it will for Palantir. Alibaba’s AI-related product revenue has grown by triple-digit percentages for six consecutive quarters. Its cloud business is also directly benefiting from AI. Could my prediction about Alibaba be wrong? Maybe. If it is, the most likely culprit that limits the company’s growth could be the ******** government. However, assuming Alibaba is allowed to meet customers’ needs relatively unfettered, it should remain ******* than Palantir by the end of the decade. You might wonder why Google parent Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOG) (NASDAQ: GOOGL) is on the list. After all, the tech giant is over 7x ******* than Palantir right now. It seems to be a no-brainer that Alphabet will still be larger in five years. However, I included Alphabet because there’s rampant pessimism about the company. Some have proclaimed that generative AI presents an “existential threat” to Google Search. Google has lost two major antitrust lawsuits. One potential outcome is that the business could be broken up. I don’t buy into the gloom and doom surrounding Alphabet, though. I’m confident that it will continue to thrive despite these challenges. AI, including generative AI, is helping Google a lot more than it’s hurting. Google Cloud’s business is booming as customers develop generative AI apps in the cloud. AI Overviews in Google Search have increased search usage and customer satisfaction. I expect Alphabet’s revenue will grow as it rolls out more agentic AI capabilities. What about the antitrust rulings? Admittedly, they could present problems for Alphabet. However, it will almost certainly take years for a final resolution. Alphabet could ultimately prevail. Even if not, the remedies the company is forced to make might not be too terribly bad. Regardless, I’d rather own shares of Alphabet over the next five years than I would Palantir. 15. Peter Schiff Rejects Larry Kudlow’s Claim That China Is ‘Falling Apart’ Without US, Says ‘We Have Actually Been Their Worst Customer’ Peter Schiff Rejects Larry Kudlow’s Claim That China Is ‘Falling Apart’ Without US, Says ‘We Have Actually Been Their Worst Customer’ Economist Peter Schiff rejected former White House adviser Larry Kudlow’s assertion that the United States is “China’s best customer,” arguing the roles are reversed as ballooning U.S. debt leaves Beijing financing American consumption. What Happened: “Larry Kudlow said the U.S. is China’s best customer … We have actually been their worst customer, as we can’t pay,” Schiff wrote on X. “Funding us screwed up their economy. They suppressed their own currency and loaned us trillions so we could keep buying.” China still holds about $1 trillion in U.S. Treasuries, though that stash is declining, reports Reuters. Schiff says those loans swelled a roughly $300 billion trade gap and now leave Beijing vulnerable as Washington turns to punitive duties. Don’t Miss: Kudlow, now a Fox Business host, argues tariffs are throttling ******** exports and forcing factories to close. Schiff counters that outright shortages are unlikely; instead, importers will pass higher costs along — an outcome economists observed after the 2018-19 tariff rounds, which lifted consumer prices without crimping supply, reports Reuters. Why It Matters: Schiff repeated recently that tariffs are chasing foreign capital out of U.S. assets and could spark a deeper financial crisis. The clash with Kudlow revives an old debate — now intensifying ahead of a fresh Trump tariff wave — over who ultimately foots the bill for protectionism. Schiff argues that China no longer depends on American shoppers to keep its factories humming, noting that the United States accounts for just “4% of the world’s population.” In an X post, the long-time tariff critic rebuffed claims that Beijing has no alternative buyers, pointing instead to a swelling global middle class that can absorb China’s output even as the U.S. raises import duties. Schiff’s take lands as the U.S. dollar struggles: the greenback sank to a three-year low in mid-April before clawing back a sliver of ground last week. Deutsche Bank analysts called the slide a “simultaneous collapse” across U.S. stocks, bonds and currency, casting the spotlight on broader investor jitters that, in Schiff’s view, tariffs may only deepen. If you’re looking to reinforce your portfolio, you may want to consider this mission-critical dividend growth stock. It has a customer base made up almost exclusively of essential agencies and businesses and should remain resilient regardless of market conditions. 10 stocks we like better than Motorola Solutions › So far this year, the S&P 500 has dropped as much as 16% from its highs by April, only to rally and gain all but 4 of these percentage points back. Whether it’s tariff concerns, an uncertain housing market, lower consumer confidence, or the implications of artificial intelligence (AI) disrupting the workforce, there is no shortage of news to spook investors. However, with this turbulence comes opportunity. This notion could be especially true if investors expand their time frame and remember to look at stocks through a three-year lens (if not one that’s decades-long). I believe public safety leader Motorola Solutions (NYSE: MSI) could prove to be one of these promising opportunities, particularly with its stock down 19% due to overblown tariff concerns. Here’s what sets this magnificent S&P 500 dividend growth stock apart and why it could be an excellent pick in today’s uncomfortable market. Motorola is a leader in the public safety niche, and its stock has been an eight-bagger over the last 10 years. It sells equipment for land-mobile radio (LMR) communication (walkie-talkies for police, for example), fixed and mobile video security and access control (including police body cameras), and command center solutions for 911 services. The company also sells software and services that support each of these units, which now equal 36% of total revenue. Image Source: Getty Images. With 5 million cameras deployed across 300,000 sites, 13,000 LMR networks set up worldwide, and a presence in 60% of the 911 call centers in the United States, Motorola has a massive role within public safety. Just as importantly, its products serve some of the most essential customer bases. The company gets 70% of its sales from public safety agencies like police, fire, EMS, national security, and crucial infrastructure. The remaining 30% comes from private enterprises, most of which are also essential, like hospitals, utilities, schools, and manufacturers. Motorola’s redundant and “always on” LMR networks are essential to public safety, especially during natural disasters when cell towers may be down. Its police body cameras, fixed cameras for combating shoplifting, and 911 command center equipment are also must-haves, rounding out the company’s suite of recession-resilient products. Story Continues Its multiyear LMR contracts, the recurring revenue from its software and services, and its all-important customer base offer investors a lot of stability. The recurring revenue from its software and services grew from 21% of sales in 2015 to 36% today. This increase is noteworthy to investors because these cloud-based services come with much higher margins. Since 2016, the company’s free cash flow (FCF) margin rose from 13% to 21% in 2025. Fundamental Chart data by YCharts. This improved FCF generation adds another layer of safety for investors thinking of buying Motorola, providing financial resilience and the ability to continue funding its dividend. Its ballooning FCF also funds Motorola’s penchant as a successful serial acquirer. Since 2015, Motorola spent $7 billion buying 29 businesses across each of the company’s three product verticals. Though mergers and acquisitions (M&A) aren’t typically seen as a safety feature for most stocks — if anything, they’re usually a significant risk — management has a lengthy track record of success. The company currently has a cash return on invested capital (ROIC) of 31%, placing it in the top 10% among its S&P 500 peers. This means Motorola earns outsized cash returns from the debt and equity it devotes to acquisitions, proving its mastery at scooping up and integrating new businesses. This allows the company to diversify its products and services, fortifying its position as the top dog in the public safety space. Image Source: Getty Images. Though Motorola’s 1% dividend yield may not scream “lifetime passive income,” its dividend growth does. With 12 consecutive years of payout increases, the company’s passive income potential could prove to be massive. MSI Dividend data by YCharts. To give some context to this steadily growing dividend, investors who purchased the stock in 2012 would now be receiving a 9% yield compared to their original cost basis. Said another way, dividend growth stocks like Motorola often become high-yield dividend stocks if held long enough. Looking a decade down the road, I’m hoping to re-create these results. Best yet for investors, the company’s dividend payments should keep rising for years to come, for two key reasons. First, it currently only uses 30% of its FCF for its dividend payments, leaving plenty of wiggle room for future increases. Management could technically double its dividend payments tomorrow and still have excess cash for capital expenditures and M&A activity. Second, the company’s backlog continues to skew more heavily toward higher-margin software and services sales. This shift means that its FCF and margins could continue increasing, creating even more cash to return to shareholders over time. Backed by the company’s safe and stable operations, this steadily growing dividend makes Motorola one of my favorite investments for growing my long-term passive income, especially in a volatile market. 23. Economist Brad Setser Sounds Alarm On China’s Hidden Trade Surplus, Suggests Billions In Capital Outflows Are Being Masked Economist Brad Setser Sounds Alarm On China’s Hidden Trade Surplus, Suggests Billions In Capital Outflows Are Being Masked Benzinga and Yahoo Finance LLC may earn commission or revenue on some items through the links below. Economist Brad Setser is raising concerns regarding the quiet shift in how China reports its trade surpluses, a change he says is masking billions of dollars in unreported income and capital outflows. What Happened: On the Keeping It Simple webinar series on Tuesday, Setser, a former staff economist at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, said China’s changes to how it tracks and reports trade data have “reduced its current account surplus by about half relative to what I think it should be.” According to Setser, China’s manufacturing surplus rose by about 1% of global GDP, or $1 trillion, so with this, half of it being suppressed suggests a gap of $500 billion in hidden trade surplus. Trending: In terms of getting money back, these bank accounts put traditional checking and savings accounts to shame. For years, analysts could closely estimate China’s current account using its customs-reported goods surplus and services trade balance. But during the pandemic, this correlation “disappeared,” Setser says, adding that this discrepancy stems from a change in its reporting methodology. Instead of using transparent customs data, China now calculates its current account using an internal payments dataset that, according to Setser, “is internal, it’s not transparent and it’s not disclosed.” Setser believes that the motivation behind this change may have been to avoid overseas scrutiny of China’s growing trade surpluses. On the other hand, this “fudge factor,” as he refers to it, may have been a way to conceal the nation’s capital flight. “One effect of reducing the current account surplus is you reduce estimates of the financial outflow and thereby the hot money that some people might say is embarrassingly leaving Xi’s China,” he says. Why It Matters: China’s economic model has come under heavy criticism, especially recently, with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent accusing the country of creating persistent trade imbalances, which “contribute to global dependence on U.S. demand to Spur growth.” Other eminent macro experts and economists, too, have urged the ******** government to reform its economic model, including Nouriel Roubini, who stated last month that it wasn’t just the U.S. that is demanding change, but “the rest of the world expects it too.” Read Next: Source link #Economist #Brad #Setser #Sounds #Alarm #Chinas #Hidden #Trade #Surplus #Suggests #Billions #Capital #Outflows #Masked Pelican News View the full article at [Hidden Content] For verified travel tips and real support, visit: [Hidden Content]

  25. Pacific Four Series: New Zealand beat Australia with two tries from debutant Braxton Sorensen-McGee Pacific Four Series: New Zealand beat Australia with two tries from debutant Braxton Sorensen-McGee Teenager Braxton Sorensen-McGee scored two tries on her Test debut as New Zealand opened their Pacific Four Series campaign with a 38-12 win over Australia. The ****** Ferns took charge with Ayesha Leti-I’iga scoring two tries in Newcastle before 18-year-old full-back Sorensen-McGee claimed her opening score. That gave the visitors a 19-0 lead at half-time, which they soon extended with a try from Chryss Viliko right after the break. The Wallaroos gave themselves hope of a fightback with Eva Karpani and Ashley Marsters both getting over to cut the score to 26-12. But late tries from Sylvia Brunt and Sorensen-McGee ensured that the six-time world champions claimed a 28th straight Test win over their trans-Tasman rivals. Reigning champions Canada kicked off this year’s Pacific Four Series with a 26-14 win over the United States last week and will visit Christchurch to face New Zealand next Saturday. Sorensen-McGee graduated to Auckland’s Super Rugby Aupiki squad this year and helped the Blues retain their title. She will hope to be selected for this year’s World Cup in England from 22 August-27 September, when New Zealand will aim to claim a third straight title.
