Two Dots is launching a special anniversary sweepstakes to celebrate 11 years of service
Clear missions to join the sweepstakes
11th anniversary events underway
$11,000 grand prize up for grabs
Has it been a year already? Socialpoint is celebrating 11 years of service for Two Dots, the studio’s minimalist puzzler on iOS and Android. To ramp up its 11th-anniversary festivities, the Zynga subsidiary will be holding a special Two Dots Paradise Prize Pot Sweepstakes, so you’d best get your puzzle prowess ready beginning May 30th.
This means that you can take on challenges within Two Dots to score Tropical Tickets – these, in turn, can be used to redeem sweepstakes entries. It certainly seems like a small amount of effort to stay in the running, especially since the grand prize is a shiny $11,000. Of course, in-game goodies are also up for grabs, including 50,000 gold to top it all off.
Eleven years is definitely no easy feat in the mobile industry, I’d say, especially given how many shutdowns have been popping up left and right recently.
If you’re keen on joining in on the festivities, there are a bunch of events you can sink your teeth into until June 30th:
Wheel of Wonders – June 13th to 23rd
Cave Chase – May 30th to June 29th
Piñata Party – May 30th to June 30th
Leagues – June 9th to June 30th
That said, if you’re on the hunt for similar experiences where you can calm your mind and chill, why not take a look at our list of the most relaxing games on Android to get your fill?
In the meantime, if you’re eager to join in on all the fun, you can do so by checking out Two Dots on Google Play and on the App Store. It’s free-to-play with in-app purchases.
You can also join the community of followers on the official Facebook page to stay updated on all the latest developments, visit the official website for more info, or take a little peek at the embedded clip above to get a feel of the vibes and visuals.

Flamstead hawk finds forever home with falconer
Flamstead hawk finds forever home with falconer

Wayne Housden said even if he had not been able to keep the bird himself, he would have wanted to stay in contact
A Harris’s hawk which terrorised a village for at least a month has found a forever home with a local falconer.
Nicknamed Bomber Harris, the hawk was captured in Flamstead, Hertfordshire, in April, and falconer Wayne Housden has been training him.
The bird of prey was blamed for attacks on about 50 people including one incident where a man was taken to hospital.
Mr Housden said the story had reached “a happy ending”.
After working with birds for about 30 years, he said his first priority was to stabilise his new feathered friend.
“He has calmed right down,” said Mr Housden, who said he had spent about £1,000 building him an aviary.
The falconer said he would take Bomber Harris to the Flamstead Scarecrow Festival in August and aimed to let him loose in the autumn.
The hawk’s “unusual” behaviour was likely hormonal or territorial and he was “not ****** at all”, Wayne said.

Wayne Housden said he had spent about £1,000 building the Harris’s hawk an aviary
“I am keeping him full-time… that wasn’t the plan and that isn’t why I tried to catch him,” he explained.
Mr Housden said Bomber Harris – a non-native South American species – was likely a captive-bred bird that had lost its falconer. He said the dried-out leather tags on its feet suggested it had been loose for more than a year.
He had not been contacted by anyone claiming to be its owner, Mr Housden said.
“If I was to let someone else have him, I would have wanted to stay in contact with him,” he added.
“He’s been failed once and he is not going to be failed again and the only way that I can make sure of that is by me keeping him myself.”

Longtime WCPO anchor announces departure from station
Longtime WCPO anchor announces departure from station
After 10 years with WCPO 9 News, Cincinnati anchor Craig McKee announced his departure from the television station.
McKee has accepted a reporting position at Scripps-owned ABC affiliate KNXV in Phoenix, Arizona, returning to his wife’s home state for the first time since 2002 to focus on family, he said in a Facebook post on May 29.
“This position will allow me to continue focusing on family, including our granddaughter in Arizona, while also continuing the work I love in journalism,” McKee wrote.
The veteran anchor expressed his gratitude for the people of Cincinnati, stating that the city has given him more than he could have even imagined.
“Thank you Cincinnati, for allowing me to be part of your story.” McKee wrote.
WCPO shared McKee’s post on its own Facebook page, and said, “We love you, Craig. And we will miss you.”
Before his time at WCPO, McKee served nine years in the United States Air Force.
In his post, he mentioned that one of the most rewarding aspects of his time at the station has been the opportunity to shine a light on the stories of veterans through the Homefront series and advocate for other local veterans.
“Each week, I had the privilege of sharing narratives that highlighted the courage, resilience, and challenges faced by those who have served our nation,” McKee wrote. “These stories not only informed viewers but also often led to tangible support for the veterans featured.”
McKee also recalls a memory of the most impactful investigations he undertook that dealt with the operations of the Hamilton County Veterans Service Commission.
“This revelation sparked significant changes, including increased transparency, the addition of transportation services, more staff to assist Veterans with claims, and a doubling of the VSC’s budget to better serve our Veterans,” McKee wrote.
In 2024, McKee was named the Veteran of the Year for Ohio’s First District in Hamilton County.
McKee is now the fourth Cincinnati anchor/reporter leaving their station to pursue other opportunities this month, following in the footsteps of WCPO meteorologist Brandon Spinner, FOX19 meteorologist Frank Marzullo and Local 12 anchor Annie Brown.
This story will be updated.

How it has changed through the years

Glastonbury Festival has become a world famous event
Glastonbury Festival has evolved significantly from its humble beginnings in 1970.
Back then, tickets cost £1 and included camping and a free pint of milk from the farm.
More than 50 years later, Glastonbury Festival has become a global phenomenon, showcasing some of the biggest names in music.
So how has the festival changed over the years?
Getty Images
Tickets sold for £1 in 1970
1970 – £1 tickets and free milk
Attendance: 1,500. Tickets: £1
The first Glastonbury Festival, which was known then as the Pilton Pop, Folk and Blues Festival, took place in September 1970, coincidentally a day after Jimi Hendrix died.
Festival organisers Michael and Jean Eavis were inspired by the Bath Festival of Blues and Progressive Music and by the success of the Isle of Wight Festival and Woodstock in the USA.
For just £1 a ticket included camping and a pint of milk from the farm and approximately 1,500 people attended the event.
That year, recent chart-toppers The Kinks and Wayne Fontana were advertised on the tickets as the headline acts, although both pulled out.
They were replaced by a band called Tyrannosaurus Rex, who were one of the biggest groups in the *** in the early 1970s.

The first Pyramid stage was built in 1971
1971 – The birth of the Pyramid stage
Attendance: estimated at 12,000. Price: Free
The following year, the festival was held in June to coincide with the summer solstice. Re-named Glastonbury Fair, entry was free and the number of visitors increased to 12,000.
The festival’s famous Pyramid stage also made its first appearance.
Constructed from metal and plastic sheeting, the stage was deliberately placed on the Glastonbury-Stonehenge ley line (a network of lines which are said to connect sites with spiritual and cultural significance).
1979 – ‘Year of the Child’
Attendance: 12,000. Tickets: £5
In 1979, the festival was held over three days and officially known as ‘Glastonbury Fayre’. The theme for 1979 was the ‘Year of the Child’.
Special provision and entertainment was provided for children and it was at this event that the concept of the Children’s World charity was born, which still exists today and works in special schools throughout Somerset and Avon.
Despite the numbers attending, organisers suffered a financial loss and no one wanted to risk another festival in 1980.
It was also this summer that Michael Eavis’ youngest daughter, Emily was born.
1981 – Glastonbury Festival
Attendance: 18,000. Tickets: £8
The festival returned after a year’s break, now officially named ‘Glastonbury Festival’.
Organisers partnered with Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND). CND was involved with promotion, ticket sales, and received a donation of £20,000 from the festival.
It was in this year that it was decided to build a new sturdier version of the Pyramid stage – one that could be used all year round.
When famous acts weren’t performing on it, it could be used as a cowshed and a store for animal food.
Using telegraph poles and Ministry of Defence metal sheeting as core materials, the new stage took two months to build.

The famous Pyramid stage burnt down in 1994
1994 – Pyramid stage burns down
Attendance: 80,000. Tickets: £59
On 13 June 1994 the famous Pyramid stage burnt down in the early hours of the morning – just two days before the festival.
Fortunately, a replacement was provided by the local company who also provided the stages for the NME and Jazz stages.
It was also the first year that Glastonbury was televised. Channel 4 covered the event over the weekend. In 1997, the BBC took over broadcasting the festival.

Attendance: 90,000. Tickets: £75 including official programme.
Torrential rain just before the festival weekend resulted in 1997 being dubbed the “year of the mud”.
The festival covered 800 acres by this point and many revellers were photographed dancing to the acts in their wellington boots rather than the latest fancy footwear.

David Bowie performed on the Pyramid Stage in 2000
2000 – Return of the Pyramid Stage
Attendance: Official estimate, 100,000. Unofficial estimate, 200,000. Tickets: £87 including programme
This year saw the return of the Pyramid stage (the third to be built) – it was 100 ft (30.4 metres) high and clad in dazzling silver.
There was also more camping space with the introduction of a special family campsite. However, this year saw a huge influx of gate crashers. People climbed fences and crawled through ditches to join the party.
David Bowie headlined the festival with a two hour show which was shown in full for the first time on television.

Michael Eavis said it was clear they had to be able to control the numbers and keep the festival safe
2002 – ‘Super fence’ installed
Attendees: 140,000. Tickets £97, including programme
During the 1990s, when the festival’s popularity was rapidly increasing, break-ins were particularly rife at the festival site and after a high influx of gatecrashers in 2000, Michael Eavis was fined for breaching licensing conditions.
As a result his team built a £1m “super fence” when the festival returned in 2002, putting an end to mass break-ins.
The ring of steel repelled all non ticket holders and 140,000 legitimate festival goers attended that year.

Biblical rain fell on Glastonbury in 2005
2005 – Extreme flooding
Attendance: 153,000. Tickets: £125 including programme
In 2005, a storm caused chaos at Glastonbury. Almost a month’s worth of water fell in a few hours on the festival’s opening day, washing tents down the hills and flooding campsites. More than 400 tents were submerged in floodwater.
There were reports of people having to swim to their tents to retrieve their belongings – and some people were spotted canoeing around the campsite.
Fire services pumped three million litres of water from the area, leaving it strewn with litter, sleeping bags, tent poles and mud-covered tents.
In the years that followed it was reported that Mr Eavis spent £750,000 on flood prevention measures.

2007 – New stage introduced
Attendance: 135,000. Tickets: £145 including programme
This year saw the introduction of Emily Eavis’ Park Stage, bringing a whole new section of the Festival site to life, whilst the Dance Village cemented its reputation in its second year.
The Unsigned Bands competition became the Emerging Talent Competition, which generated thousands of entries and a host of worthy winners playing on many of the Festival stages.

Jay Z became the first hip-hop artist to headline Glastonbury in 2008
2008 – First hip-hop headliner
Attendance: 134,000. Tickets: £155 including programme
There was quite a stir in the lead-up to 2008’s Glastonbury after rap megastar Jay-Z was announced as Saturday night’s headline act.
Jay-Z’s headlining slot was controversial due to the festival’s traditional focus on guitar-based rock and pop music.
However, Jay-Z defied the doubters and became the first major hip-hop artist to headline Glastonbury, marking a turning point for the festival’s line-up.
2019 – Last before CovidPA Media
Stormzy performed at Glastonbury in 2019 wearing a Union Jack stab-proof vest
Capacity: 203,000. Ticket price: £248
Jay-Z’s performance in 2008 carved out a path for more hip-hop and rap headliners.
Stormzy dominated Glastonbury’s Pyramid stage in 2019. While wearing a stab-proof Union Jack vest, he used his set to highlight inequality in the justice system and the arts.
This year’s Glastonbury Festival would be the last for the next two years due to Covid-19 pandemic.
2022 – Glasto returns
Ticket price: £280 Capacity: 210,000
Thousands of music lovers welcomed the return of the Glastonbury Festival in 2022, after a forced hiatus due to Covid-19.
This year’s festival also featured its youngest-ever solo headliner in Billie Eilish and Sir Paul McCartney as the oldest.
As well as the music, climate activist Greta Thunberg also made a surprise appearance, telling festival goers the earth’s biosphere is “not just changing, it is breaking down”.

2025 – Last before fallow year
Capacity: 210,000. Tickets: £373.50 + £5 booking fee
Glastonbury Festival will return on 25 June this year.
Festival organisers have announced British band The 1975, rock legend Neil Young and US pop star Olivia Rodrigo will be headlining.
Rod Stewart will also perform on Sunday afternoon in the “legend slot” – 23 years after his last appearance at the festival.
This year will be last festival before the 2026 fallow year to let the field recover.
If you were unable to get yourself a ticket for the world’s biggest music festival – don’t worry – the BBC will have extensive coverage throughout Glastonbury 2025.

***’s muddy saltmarshes vital to tackle climate change
***’s muddy saltmarshes vital to tackle climate change
Victoria Gill
Science correspondent, BBC News
WWF
Saltmarshes are buffer zones between the land and the sea and act as natural flood defences
The ***’s saltmarshes are vital “sinks” that lock away climate-warming greenhouse gases in layers of mud, according to a new report from WWF.
Much of the ***’s saltmarshes have been lost to agriculture but the charity says they are unsung heroes in nature’s fight against climate change.
It is now calling for these muddy, tidal habitats to be added to the official *** inventory of how much carbon is emitted and how much is removed from our atmosphere every year.
This formal recognition could, it hopes, provide more of an incentive to restore and protect more of these sites.
Victoria Gill/BBC
The greenhouse gas monitoring station was installed on a tower to protect it from the saltwater and debris
Working with researchers from the ***’s Centre for Ecology and Hydrology, a WWF team installed solar-powered greenhouse gas monitoring stations on Hesketh Out Marsh, a saltmarsh in North-West England that has been restored and is managed by the RSPB.
Analysing gases in the air flowing around the marsh – over the course of a year – revealed how plants there “breathe in” more carbon dioxide in the summer than they release in winter.
These new findings build on previous studies that have measured the amount of carbon in the marshland’s mud.
To carry it out, the team fixed analytical equipment to a sturdy 2.5m tall tower made of scaffolding poles. The site is regularly flooded by the tide, so the tower has kept their kit safe from salt water and debris.
With WWF’s ocean conservation specialist, Tom Brook as our guide, we waded through the thigh-high grass to visit the site of the experiment.
RSPB
Wading bird like avocets have specially evolved bills for skimming food off the tidal mud and lagoons
At low tide, the sea is not visible beyond the expanse of grassland, but the area is littered with driftwood, some plastic waste and there is even a small, upturned boat nearby.
“The plants grow so quickly here in spring and summer that they almost grow on top of each other – layering and decomposing,” Tom said. “That captures carbon in the soils. So while we’re typically taught about how trees breathe in carbon and store that in the wood, here salt marshes are doing that as mud.
“So the mud here is just as important for climate mitigation as trees are.”
WWF has published its first year of findings in a report called The Importance of *** Saltmarshes. Unusually, this been co-published with an insurance company that is interested in understanding the role these sites have in protecting homes from coastal flooding.
The *** has lost about 85% of its saltmarshes since 1860. They were seen as useless land and many were drained for agriculture.
Victoria Gill/BBC News
Carbon is locked away in layers of marshland mud
Hesketh Out Marsh has been restored – bought by the wildlife charity RSPB and re-flooded by tide. Now, in late spring, it is teeming with bird life. A variety of species, including avocets, oyster catchers and ******-tailed godwits, probe the mud for food and nest on the land between lagoons and streams.
The researchers hope the findings will help make the case to restore and protect more of these muddy bufferzones between the land and the sea.
“The mud here is so important,” explained Alex Pigott, the RSPB warden at Hesketh Out Marsh. “It’s is like a service station for birds.”
With their differently shaped bills – some ideal for scooping and some for probing – marshland birds feed in the tidal mud.
“We know these sites act as a natural flood defences, too and that they store carbon,” said Ms Pigott. “Any any of these habitats that we can restore will be a big win for nature.”

Mitsubishi won’t slash prices to remain a top-five brand in Australia
Mitsubishi won’t slash prices to remain a top-five brand in Australia
Mitsubishi says it intends to remain profitable in Australia while offering good-value products, but it won’t slash its prices to remain a top-five auto brand here.
“While we have acknowledged a top-five volume target in the past, we aren’t targeting a specific ranking or number,” Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited CEO Shaun Westcott told CarExpert as part of an interview for our Expert Insights series.
“Our focus remains on delivering quality vehicles that consumers want, and supporting them throughout their ownership experience, while remaining profitable.”
Last year, Mitsubishi delivered 74,547 vehicles in Australia, making it the fifth best-selling brand on the market. It was up one spot and over 11,000 sales compared with its 2023 tally, though down slightly on its fourth-place position in 2022 when it delivered close to 77,000 vehicles.
Hundreds of new car deals are available through CarExpert right now. Get the experts on your side and score a great deal. Browse now.
Camera IconSupplied Credit: CarExpert
Mitsubishi sales have ebbed and flowed somewhat over the years. It reached a height of 84,123 deliveries in 1998, but annual deliveries wouldn’t exceed 80,000 units again until 2017. It managed this feat in 2018 and 2019 as well, in the dying days of the popular Lancer.
While Mitsubishi vehicles like the outgoing ASX have often undercut rivals from Japan and Europe, a raft of ******** brands have entered the *********** market with sharply priced vehicles of their own.
The ASX opens at $24,290 before on-road costs, but the new Chery Tiggo 4 opens at $23,990 drive-away.
Its Outlander, the second best-selling mid-size SUV in Australia, opens at $39,990 before on-roads, which sees it undercut by the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro Max, MG HS, and GWM Haval H6.
Many of these ******** rivals have also offered significantly discounted pricing as part of runout or EOFY deals.
Camera IconSupplied Credit: CarExpert
“In the current competitive landscape, heavily discounting and increasing incentives are a short-term race to the bottom,” said Mr Westcott.
“Mitsubishi is a volume player, but we have moved beyond being seen as ‘cheap’; we are now known for creating value via well-equipped, capable and reliable vehicles that fit *********** customers.”
Likely to impact Mitsubishi’s performance this year, however, is the loss of a few key vehicles.
A new *********** Design Rule (ADR) that came into effect on March 1, 2025, outlining specific performance requirements for autonomous emergency braking (AEB) systems, forced Mitsubishi to discontinue the Eclipse Cross, ******* Sport, and the Japanese-built ASX.
The ASX nameplate isn’t dead, however, with a replacement – a rebadged Renault Captur, built in Spain – due late on ***** here in 2025.
Camera IconSupplied Credit: CarExpert
Mitsubishi was also able to secure sufficient stock of discontinued vehicles, complied before March 1, to the point these vehicles remain on its local website as at the end of May.
The company still sold enough ASXs in April, for example, to make it the sixth best-selling vehicle in its segment.
The ******* Sport also still managed to outsell sharply priced rivals from challenger brands like the LDV D90 and KGM Rexton, even if it fell far short of the likes of the Isuzu MU-X.
A new-generation ******* Sport is expected in 2026 following a commitment from the brand to remain in key vehicle segments in which the brand is already established.
Mitsubishi has confirmed it’s in development, though whether it retains the ******* Sport name is “still to be decided”.
Camera IconSupplied Credit: CarExpert
However, Mitsubishi says it’s too early to confirm the Renault Scenic E-Tech-based Eclipse Cross EV set to be revealed in September, while a separate electric vehicle (EV) based on the Nissan Leaf and intended for North America is also uncertain to come here.
Instead, Mitsubishi has confirmed a new product in the shape of an EV sourced from Taiwanese firm Foxtron. It’s due in Australia during the second half of 2026.
That will see Mitsubishi offer four to five nameplates in Australia by the end of 2026. Prior to March 1, Mitsubishi was importing vehicles into Australia across five nameplates.
Mitsubishi says between now and 2030 it will launch at least eight new and refreshed models in Australia.
Camera IconSupplied Credit: CarExpert
“It has been well publicised, and I have to say sensationalised, that we reduced our model lineup at the start of 2025 due to a change in ADR requirements,” said Mr Westcott.
“This wasn’t limited to Mitsubishi but also impacted other brands, who seem to have escaped some of the sensationalism.
“We did announce the replacement of the ASX simultaneously, but some media houses chose to ignore or downplay this in exchange for sensationalist headlines.
“The timing of this change restricted us to confirming only the ASX replacement at the time, but we also said other new models would be confirmed in due course which has subsequently happened, as promised.
“Our future lineup will include a balanced mix of petrol, diesel, PHEV, and EV models – all designed for the *********** lifestyle and backed by our 10/10 warranty and capped-price servicing.”
Camera Icon2002 Mitsubishi Magna Credit: CarExpert
While the days of the Lancer, Magna and ******* are long gone, Mitsubishi remains a high-volume brand in Australia thanks to the popularity of vehicles like the ASX, Outlander and Triton.
“From a Mitsubishi perspective, we have been selling vehicles in Australia for 45 years, and we intend to be here for the foreseeable future, and beyond,” said Mr Westcott.
“You can’t buy history like that, or the affinity with the *********** market that it creates.
“Our *********** manufacturing legacy remains strong; we are part of the *********** fabric, particularly in South Australia. And that can create a strong emotional connection.”
Mr Westcott also noted Mitsubishi’s network of over 200 dealers and extensive parts and aftersales support.
“We intend to remain a key player in the automotive segment in Australia for decades to come,” he added.
Our full Expert Insights interview with Shaun Westcott will be published on Saturday, May 31.

India federal finance ministry seeks relaxation in central bank’s gold loan proposals
MUMBAI (Reuters) -India’s federal finance ministry has sought relaxations in the new rules on gold loans proposed by the central bank, according to a post on its official social media handle.
The department of financial services under the finance ministry has asked the Reserve Bank of India to ensure that the needs of small gold loan borrowers are not “adversely impacted”, a post on the ministry’s verified handle on social media platform X said.
In April this year, the RBI had proposed tighter rules for monitoring and disbursement of gold loans, often used by low-income borrowers. The tighter rules came after such loans surged nearly 30% between September and February.
In its post, the finance ministry said small ticket borrowers below 200,000 rupees ($2,344.05) should be excluded from the tighter rules to ensure “timely and speedy disbursement of loans”.
The ministry also proposed that the new rules not be implemented before January 1, 2026, to ensure the ground staff at lenders are adequately prepared.
The central bank had sought comments on its proposed rules by the middle of May. The final rules are yet to be issued.
On the day, Muthoot Finance rose 4.9% and Manappuram Finance traded 0.5% higher as of 10:34 a.m. IST. IIFL Finance was down 0.6%.

Certainty of tariffs better than confusing legal tussle
Certainty of tariffs better than confusing legal tussle

A U.S. federal trade court striking down President Donald Trump’s “reciprocal” tariffs on a broad swathe of countries seems, on the surface, a positive development all around. A lack of tariffs leads to cheaper goods, likely more consumer spending and higher corporate revenue, which tends to flow back to stock prices.
This ideal scenario, however, rests on the assumption that the court’s decision is final and the Trump administration does not have other ways of reinstating its muscular trade policies.
Events on Thursday have already shown us that is not the case. An appeals court temporarily paused the tariff ruling to allow the Trump administration to respond to the case. “Even if we lose, we will do it another way,” Trump trade advisor Peter Navarro told reporters at the White House Thursday afternoon.
This uncertainty could roil markets and trade negotiations with countries further. If tariffs could pop in and out of existence based on policy and judicial decisions, how do nations discuss trade deals, and how do investors allocate their capital efficiently? Indeed, the S&P 500 was up nearly 0.9% when trading began, but fell sharply after the Trump administration said it may ask the Supreme Court to halt the federal trade court’s ruling.
“In general, markets don’t like uncertainty, because it makes forecasting more difficult,” said Larry Tentarelli, founder of the Blue Chip Daily Trend Report. “We expect the tariff news cycle to be an extended process, which can lead to higher short-term volatility.”
A concrete tariff of 10% would still be a tax — but the surety of it could be better for markets and economies globally in the long run.
What you need to know today
Trump ‘reciprocal’ tariffs reinstated for nowA U.S. federal appeals court on Thursday granted the Trump administration’s request to temporarily pause a lower-court ruling that struck down most of Trump’s tariffs. Trump officials maintain that they have other options for imposing tariffs, even if they do not prevail in the case. Earlier in the day, the White House said it would seek “emergency relief” from the Supreme Court if the ruling was not paused.
Rocky U.S.-China negotiationsU.S.-China trade talks “are a bit stalled,” Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told Fox News in an interview Thursday local time, adding that there may be a call between Trump and ******** President Xi Jinping “at some point.” Even though Washington and Beijing have agreed to roll back tariffs for 90 days, the U.S. has pushed ahead with tech restrictions on China, while the latter has yet to significantly ease restrictions on exports of rare earths.
U.S. market gains capped by tariff confusionU.S. stocks rose Thursday. They were buoyed by Nvidia — which climbed 3.3% on its positive earnings — but were held back from ******* gains by uncertainty around tariffs. The S&P 500 added 0.4%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.28% and the Nasdaq Composite climbed 0.39%. Asia-Pacific markets fell Friday. Japan’s Nikkei 225 retreated 1.15% at 1:30 p.m. Singapore time as data showed annual core inflation in Tokyo hitting 3.6% in May, the highest since January 2023.
Powell stressed rate decisions cannot be politicalFederal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell met Trump Thursday, according to a release by the U.S. central bank. “Chair Powell did not discuss his expectations for monetary policy,” the statement said. However, Powell did “stress that the path of policy will depend entirely on incoming economic information and what that means for the outlook” — essentially, that interest rates cannot be swayed by politics.
SEC dropped its lawsuit against BinanceThe SEC has formally dropped its lawsuit against Binance and founder Changpeng Zhao, which was first brought in June 2023. The case had accused the crypto exchange of illegally serving U.S. users, inflating trading volumes and commingling customer funds. The dismissal marks a symbolic end to the agency’s crypto crackdown and comes as the Trump administration attempts to prove it’s an ally to the industry.
[PRO] European sectors to play: JPMorganEuropean equities have fared better than those in the U.S. so far this year. JPMorgan analysts think the trend could continue, with non-U.S. markets trading “increasingly more favorably” against their American counterparts for the next 12 to 18 months. South Korea’s Hybe opens China office amid hopes of a K-pop reversal from Beijing
South Korea’s largest K-pop agency Hybe, which established its first office in China on April 2 and announced the launch on Thursday, has been preparing to enter the ******** market since last year, a Hybe official said recently.
There have been indications that Beijing might be softening its stance on K-pop in the face of weak domestic consumption and stalled trade talks with China. And in another sign of thawing relations, China announced its decision to waive visas for South Koreans last November. South Korea followed suit in March 2025 with its plans to offer a visa exemption to ******** visitors in the third quarter.
“In contrast with semiconductors or autos, where global trade policy directly impacts supply chains and pricing, K-pop consumption is far less sensitive to protectionist measures,” Shinhan Securities said in a note in April.

ASX Runners of the Week: Eden, Focus Minerals, InFocus & Dateline
ASX Runners of the Week: Eden, Focus Minerals, InFocus & Dateline
It was back to usual programming on a fairly flat week for the ASX.
The markets showed some mid-week lustre, boosted by United States-European Union trade talks and a New York court order suspending US President Trump’s Liberation Day trade tariffs.
But the optimism quickly waned as America’s Federal Court restored the tariffs the next day. Weak falling home sales data, rising jobless numbers and more tariff uncertainty saw volatility creep back in at the end the week.
Safe-haven gold still held a handy $5150 an ounce price to end the week and the US Fed is expected to cut rates sooner rather than later, thanks to economic distress and bond yields tumbling.
In positive news, the *********** energy sector surged more than 2 per cent buoyed by the federal government’s approval of Woodside Energy’s North West Shelf gas project – despite oil prices dropping. This long-awaited green light, following six years of deliberation, will extend the life of Australia’s largest oil and gas project to 2070, offering a lifeline to the nation’s energy sector and providing a stable transition baseload power supply to meet its net zero ambitions.
Bulls N’ Bear’s ASX Runners of the Week list was unconventionally littered with a group of revenue-making companies this week, as a mix of sales figures, exclusive deals, and acquisitions lit up the boards. The final Runner for the week was reserved for one of Bulls N’ Bears’ favourites, market darling Dateline Resources, which traded an astonishing 2.85 billion shares this month, equating to its entire register’s worth.
EDEN INNOVATIONS (ASX: EDE)
up 333% (0.15c – 0.5c)
This week’s Bulls N’ Bears ASX Runner of the Week is clean tech trailblazer Eden Innovations, which sent its share price soaring on Thursday after announcing a cracking $878,000 in EdenCrete additive sales from February 6 to May 23. The company’s April and May sales alone rocketed 86 per cent higher than for the entire December quarter last year.
The company’s shares bounced back from a lowly 0.15c per share close last week to trade at 0.5c per share on Friday, up 333 per cent, on nearly $1 million of paper traded across two days.
Eden’s star carbon nanotube-enriched concrete additive, EdenCrete, is shaking up the increasingly green concrete industry by boosting batch strength while slashing the need for carbon-heavy ordinary Portland cement.
A major win came with a $141,000 order from Holcim US for a 22-storey high-rise in Denver, which is Eden’s first big-ticket commercial project.
The market lapped it up, with shares surging on Eden’s green concrete breakthrough into high-rise buildings, one of the biggest addressable markets.
Meanwhile, Eden’s OptiBlend dual-fuel kit, which lets diesel generators run cleaner on natural gas, continues to hum in the background, fuelling company sales across the US and India.
With concrete giants such as Holcim jumping on board and sales breaking into the mammoth high-rise building industry, Eden looks poised to cement its place as a clean tech leader. If its momentum holds, the company could go from market battler to skyscraper-high regular in quick succession.
FOCUS MINERALS (ASX: FML)
up 161% (23c – 60c)
Bulls N’ Bears’ silver medallist this week is Western *********** gold miner Focus Minerals, which shot up like a prospector’s pickaxe on Tuesday thanks to a juicy $250M cash deal to offload its Laverton gold project to $5 billion market darling Genesis Minerals.
Punters were left scrambling to pick up shares in the cashed-up gold miner on Monday, with a whopping $5.2M traded to push the company’s shares up 161 per cent to 60c per share.
Nestled in WA’s prolific Leonora-Laverton district, the Laverton project is a stone’s throw from Genesis’ massive 3-million-tonne per annum Laverton mill.
The acquisition looks like a perfect fit for Genisis and is set to churn out ample tonnages of open pit and underground gold ore for the company’s hungry mill.
The deal contains no pesky conditions precedent and is set to seal in early June, handing Focus a mountainous $250M in cash, which looks very timely considering the company is lugging around $187M in debt.
Focus will retain its producing Coolgardie gold project, where it cracked a record mining output in the past quarter. Its Three Mile Hill mill processed a thumping 370,262 tonnes for a handy 5376 ounces of gold at $4388 per ounce.
With its Bonnie Vale underground mine ahead of schedule and its Alicia open pit firing up, Focus could be hitting its straps in no time, as it looks to increase its lower-grade gold ore with higher-grade output from the newer mines.
Laverton’s synergistic ***** sent Focus’ shares flying as investors bet on the company’s cash windfall to turn its luck around in a red-hot gold price environment. With Coolgardie’s Bonnie Vale underground cranking out ore and a new 80-room camp to house its growing crew, Focus is sitting pretty to join the mid-cap success stories of WA’s gold sector – aided by its newfound financial flexibility.
INFOCUS GROUP HOLDINGS (ASX: IFG)
up 140% (0.5c – 1.2c)
Taking out the final podium spot on Runners of the Week is digital solutions experts InFocus Group, which shot out of a cannon on Tuesday by unveiling a blockbuster US$3.25M (A$5M) deal to become the exclusive tech partner for Taiwanese gaming guru TG Solutions Consulting.
A feeding frenzy ensued with the company’s share price rocketing 140 per cent to 1.2c per share on a sizzling $1.2M in stock traded. This was nearly as much as the entire company’s preannouncement market valuation of $1.3M.
InFocus says it is set to build a cutting-edge iGaming platform for TG’s white-label distribution. It promises to be packed with bells and whistles, such as a polymarket-inspired dynamic odds system, digital collectibles, tokenised loyalty programs and crypto payments.
The contract includes milestone-based payments and locks in InFocus as TG’s go-to tech partner for all future rollouts. The company says it’s a growing market trend as predictive gaming evolves thanks to big data, analytics and cybersecurity expenditure.
Investors would seem to agree, betting big on InFocus’s pivot into the red-hot iGaming sector. With trials wrapping up and the platform set to launch within two years, the company looks well-positioned at the forefront of a digital gaming revolution that might return the market minnow to its former glory.

DATELINE RESOURCES (ASX: DTR)
up 86% (5.5c – 10.25c)
Finally, Dateline Resources has hit the Runners list for the third time in almost as many weeks. Attempting its best ‘broken record’ impersonation and continuing to break its share price highs, the US-based junior goldie’s share price has risen an eye-watering 1950 per cent this quarter and shows no signs of slowing down.
The company’s shares peaked on Friday at 10.25c, up 86 per cent over the week, on a monumental $80M in shares traded.
Following Trump’s Truth Social championing of the company’s “rare earths mine” earlier this month, Dateline continued its breakout on Tuesday when it told the market its Colosseum project in California could be sitting on a much larger gold system than previously realised.
A recent rock chip program picked up several outcropping felsite dykes up 1 kilometre west and 4km southwest of the existing pit, which appear to follow a deliberate geological trend.
Adding fuel to the fire, results of a fresh surface geochemical survey now point to concealed breccia pipes lurking just beyond the rim of the mine’s historic pits.
The company says the new mineralisation lines up like clockwork with its known structural gold system and could point to a string of satellite intrusions which, if confirmed, could unearth even more gold-rich breccia pipes brewing just below the surface.
The latest rock samples lit up with classic pathfinder elements such as antimony, bismuth and tellurium, which are textbook signs of an intrusion-related gold system. These IRGS-style systems are known for their layered structure, with lighter elements floating near the surface and the real prize – gold – tending to settle deeper.
Armed with a fresh trail of geological breadcrumbs, Dateline is ramping up for its next big move. More surface sampling is underway, and the company is locking in its first drilling campaign beyond the pit walls. The program will chase the projected path of the newly mapped felsite dykes and test if the Colosseum’s breccia pipes are just the tip of a much *******, vertically stacked golden iceberg.
If the upcoming drill campaign strikes more gold, it could blow the doors open on Dateline’s already impressive 1.1-million-ounce resource and unlock a whole new chapter of potential at Colosseum.

A traveler who has taken more than 325 business-class flights shares one thing he’s surprised other passengers don’t take advantage of
A traveler who has taken more than 325 business-class flights shares one thing he’s surprised other passengers don’t take advantage of
Dennis Bunnik has been on more than 325 business-class flights.
He said that out of the many perks, more passengers should take advantage of the complimentary pj’s.
Bunnik said wearing pajamas on long-haul flights is relaxing and keeps your clothes clean.
In the past decade, Dennis Bunnik has boarded more than 700 flights, nearly half of which have been in business class.
Those flights — especially a long-haul business-class flight — have come with plenty of amenities. Bunnik, a CEO for the travel company Bunnik Tours who’s also an aviation YouTuber, told Business Insider he’d enjoyed perks such as suite-style seats and multicourse meals.
But there’s one thing he’s shocked passengers don’t use enough, he said. And that’s the complimentary pajamas.
Some airlines on long-haul flights offer passengers pajamas
Bunnik said the first time he boarded a flight that offered pajamas, he didn’t think twice about throwing them on. Hundreds of flights later, pajamas and loungewear are a favorite perk of Bunnik’s.
“There are a number of airlines that offer them, and they’re fantastic,” he said.
A set of Qantas pajamas.James D. Morgan/Getty Images
The loungewear sets are typically simple. They often include a pair of pants, a short- or long-sleeved shirt, and slippers.
While pajamas are common in first class, the travel outlet One Mile at a Time reported that about a dozen long-haul carriers stock them for their business-class passengers. Emirates, Qantas, United Airlines, and Virgin Atlantic are among those carriers.
If they’re offered, it’s typically on overnight flights, though passengers can request a pair during a daytime flight as well.
On a recent Qatar Airways flight in its business-class Qsuites, Bunnik received gray-and-blue loungewear for the 12.5-hour flight between Hamad International Airport in Doha to Adelaide, Australia. The set featured a gray long-sleeved shirt, dark pants, and comfy slippers.
“They’re great pj’s,” Bunnik said in the video documenting the flight.

The frequent traveler said pajamas serve two purposes
Bunnik said the passengers who skip out on wearing their pajamas are missing out. “One, it keeps your clothes crease-free and clean,” he said.
Even more importantly, he added, pajamas help shift a traveler’s mindset. “It helps you relax,” he said.
Bunnik said that once he’s wearing his pajamas, it’s easier for him to forget about the outside world and settle on the plane.
Bunnik added that he doesn’t change into the pajamas until after takeoff. Once the seatbelt sign is off, he’ll head to the restroom to change. Before landing, he’ll put his regular clothes back on.
“If there’s an emergency evacuation, you don’t want to be the one standing there in your pajamas,” he said.

Restocked Reds prepped for ‘do or die’ footy
Restocked Reds prepped for ‘do or die’ footy
Fraser McReight is confident his Queensland Reds are yet to hit top gear, dismissing their poor record against Super Rugby’s best sides ahead of the finals.
The Reds host Fijian Drua in their final regular season game at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday, with the visitors winless away from home this season and out of top-six contention.
Queensland can finish as high as fourth, which would still mean a road trip to begin their finals series but increase their chances of a second life, as the highest-placed loser in the new-look format, should they stumble next week.
Fifth entering the final round, the Reds are yet to beat any of the sides sitting above them this year.
A tight loss to the Hurricanes last week followed a pair of narrow defeats to the ACT Brumbies, while they were also beaten in New Zealand by the Chiefs and Crusaders.
But McReight is adamant Queensland are capable.
“We can mix it with anyone,” he said, adding the Reds could go up a gear.
“The last few weeks, we have had some up and down performances, had our chances.
“But we’re getting some key members back and building for next week and do-or-die footy.”
Test centre Josh Flook will be the latest reinforcement, back from a hamstring injury, after incumbent Test skipper Harry Wilson made an impressive return from a broken arm last week.
Halves pairing Tate McDermott and Tom Lynagh will also be hopeful of steering the Reds deep into the finals, with Test coach Joe Schmidt acknowledging that as an advantage at the selection table.
That continuity will reach new heights next year, with McDermott confirming on Friday he would not take up the option of a sabbatical to play overseas next season.
The Drua are winless away from home this year but remain dangerous, as the Reds are well aware after falling victim for a third time in Fiji earlier this season.
“They’re a pretty dangerous side but in the weather … we have a great set piece game so hopefully we can use that to our advantage and it’s too wet for us to also move the ball and have some fun with it,” McReight said.

Astronomers have discovered a mysterious object flashing strange signals from deep space, and they have no idea what it is.
The object, named ASKAP J1832-0911, spits out pulses of radio waves and X-rays for two minutes straight, once every 44 minutes.
Detected by *********** Square Kilometre Array Pathfinder (ASKAP) and NASA’s Chandra X-ray observatory, the strange repeating signals are currently unexplained — and unravelling this cosmic mystery could reveal new physics, according to the researchers who discovered it. The team published their findings May 28 in the journal Nature.
“This object is unlike anything we have seen before,” lead study author Andy Wang, an astronomer at Curtin University in Perth, Australia, said in a statement. “ASKAP J1831-0911 could be a magnetar (the core of a dead star with powerful magnetic fields), or it could be a pair of stars in a binary system where one of the two is a highly magnetised white dwarf (a low-mass star at the end of its evolution).”
“However, even those theories do not fully explain what we are observing,” Wang added. “This discovery could indicate a new type of physics or new models of stellar evolution.”
ASKAP J1832-0911 is a long-******* transient (LPT), a class of rare and extreme astrophysical events that sweep out beams of radio waves like cosmic lighthouses. First discovered in 2022, thus far ten LPTs have been catalogued by astronomers.
Related: ‘Cosmic cannonballs’ exploding out of dead star could explain mysterious flicker in the night sky
Unlike traditional pulsars, which are produced by neutron stars and ***** out radio signals every few seconds or milliseconds, LPTs emit pulses at intervals of minutes or hours apart — a ******* previously thought to be impossible. This has made the cause of the signals, and how they are able to switch on and off at long and regular intervals, a mystery among astronomers.
After discovering the signals using the ASKAP telescope, the researchers turned to the Chandra X-ray observatory (which was coincidentally pointing at the same patch of sky) to double check what they had found. Chandra’s observations confirmed ASKAP J1832-0911’s presence, while also making the first-ever detection of an LPT in X-rays.

“Discovering that ASKAP J1832-0911 was emitting X-rays felt like finding a needle in a haystack,” Wang said. “The ASKAP radio telescope has a wide field view of the night sky, while Chandra observes only a fraction of it. So, it was fortunate that Chandra observed the same area of the night sky at the same time.”
The astronomers believe that the detection of an LPT emitting radio waves and X-rays simultaneously could offer them a valuable clue as to what’s producing them, as any theory that explains the object must now account for both types of emission.
To assemble more of the puzzle, the researchers suggest that more detections using radio and X-ray telescope pairs should be made.
“Finding one such object hints at the existence of many more,” second author Nanda Rea, an astrophysicist at the Catalan Institute for Space Studies in Spain, said in the statement. “The discovery of its transient X-ray emission opens fresh insights into their mysterious nature.”

Suge Knight urges longtime rival Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs to take the stand to ‘humanize’ himself
Suge Knight urges longtime rival Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs to take the stand to ‘humanize’ himself
Imprisoned former rap mogul Marion “Suge” Knight, who for decades shared an acrimonious relationship with Sean “Diddy” Combs, urged his longtime archrival to take the stand in his ongoing trial.
Speaking to CNN’s Laura Coates in a brief phone interview from prison, where he’s serving a 28-year-sentence for a deadly hit-and-run in 2015, Knight said he believed Combs should “humanize” himself.
“I feel if he do tell his truth, he really would walk,” Knight said. “If Puffy goes up there and says, ‘Hey … I did all the drugs, I wasn’t in control of my life at the time, or myself’ – he can humanize his old self and the jury might give him a shot.”
“But if they keep him sitting down, it’s like he’s scared to face the music,” Knight added. “He should just have his faith in God, put up his pants and go up there and tell his truth.”
Combs has pleaded not guilty to charges that include racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. If convicted on all counts, he could face up to life in prison.
It’s not clear whether Combs will testify at his trial. Taking the stand can be seen as a risky move for defendants because it can open them up to a bruising cross-examination, experts say.
Benjamin Chew, the co-lead counsel for actor Johnny Depp in his defamation trial, told CNN earlier this week that the standard wisdom is for defendants not to testify – but added it may benefit Combs to defend himself and express remorse over the allegations that have been brought up during the prosecution’s case.

Knight, the co-founder of Death Row Records, was best known in the 1990s for helping promote West Coast rap in a field that had long been dominated by East Coast artists. It was during this time that his rivalry with Combs ratcheted up – with their respective labels fighting for dominance, and the two groups trading public insults and diss tracks.
The feud reached its peak when Tupac Shakur and Christopher Wallace, known by his rap alias the Notorious B.I.G., were shot and killed within months of each other. Knight was driving the car in which Shakur was killed in Las Vegas in 1996.
Knight has resurfaced in headlines in recent weeks during Combs’ trial, as several former staffers employed by Combs mentioned the men’s rivalry.
One of Combs’ former personal assistants, Capricorn Clark, said Combs once brought her to Central Park at night and brought up her former employment with Death Row Records.
“He told me that he didn’t know that I had anything to do with Suge Knight, and if anything happened, he would have to kill me,” Clark said.
David James, another former assistant, recalled an instance when he and Combs’ security guard ran into Knight at a diner. When Combs heard about it, he ordered James to drive them back to the diner, bringing three handguns with him – but Knight had left by the time they arrived, James testified.
Knight was sentenced to prison in 2018 after pleading no contest to manslaughter in the death of a man he was accused of hitting with his truck on the set of the movie “Straight Outta Compton.”
