Is BigCommerce Holdings Inc. (BIGC) the Best Tech Stock to Buy Right Now Under $10? Is BigCommerce Holdings Inc. (BIGC) the Best Tech Stock to Buy Right Now Under $10? We recently compiled a list of the 12 Best Tech Stocks to Buy Right Now Under $10. In this article, we are going to take a look at where BigCommerce Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:BIGC) stands against the other tech stocks under $10. Our list today highlights stocks that are priced under $10 and can offer opportunities for growth. These stocks offer diversification away from the typical large and mid-cap names with the use of lower capital. These stocks often belong to companies that are trying to create niche businesses or are in various stages of product evolution, including emerging growth firms and established businesses, giving tough competition to larger rivals. In our view, this space has the potential for high returns, particularly if these companies can successfully execute their business strategies and capitalize on market trends. In the technology sector, many undervalued stocks are well-positioned to benefit from the ongoing trends of digital transformation, and transition to cloud and AI. Companies offering innovative software solutions, cybersecurity, and cloud services are anticipated to thrive as businesses continue to invest in technology to enhance their competitive position and security. By identifying promising companies in these areas, investors can potentially achieve good returns although with a little higher risk. That said, we believe that stock selection remains crucial in the small-cap space due to the volatility of these names. For comparison, the S&P SmallCap600 Index has underperformed the broader S&P500 Index over the last 3, 5, and 10 years which indicates that you might not get enough returns if you take a broader approach. The technology sector continues to be driven by rapid innovation and the adoption of cutting-edge technologies. Advances in technology are significantly impacting lives, industries, and economies worldwide. The integration of AI and ML is revolutionizing workflows, enhancing productivity, and creating new revenue opportunities. Organizations globally are undergoing digital transformations to stay competitive, streamline operations, improve customer engagement, and drive innovation in their products and services. Our Methodology To shortlist the 12 Best Tech Stocks to Buy Right Now Under $10, we screened technology stocks with current share price below $10. We overlaid this criterion with additional criteria of market capitalization of at least $300 million and a potential upside of greater than 10%. The stocks were then arranged in ascending order of the number of hedge fund holders for each company, based on hedge fund data from Insider Monkey’s database. Story Continues Note: all pricing data is as of market close on February 6. At Insider Monkey we are obsessed with the stocks that hedge funds pile into. The reason is simple: our research has shown that we can outperform the market by imitating the top stock picks of the best hedge funds. Our quarterly newsletter’s strategy selects 14 small-cap and large-cap stocks every quarter and has returned 275% since May 2014, beating its benchmark by 150 percentage points (see more details here). Highlighting the company’s sector and industry, a technician working on a complex SaaS in a technology lab. Current Market Price: $6.63; Upside Potential: 28% Number of hedge funds: 20 On the bottom of our list is BigCommerce Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:BIGC), a cloud-based e-commerce platform that empowers businesses to establish and manage online stores. The company provides a comprehensive suite of tools and services designed to support the development, customization, and optimization of e-commerce websites. The platform not only assists customers in creating and managing their own branded online stores but also facilitates seamless integration with various sales channels, including popular online marketplaces, social networks, and offline point-of-***** (POS) systems used in physical stores. BigCommerce Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:BIGC) caters to a wide range of clients, from small businesses and mid-market enterprises to large corporations. In Q3 2024, BigCommerce Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:BIGC) reported a 7.3% year-over-year growth in sales, reaching $83.7 million, which met street expectations. The company’s EPS of USD 0.06 significantly surpassed consensus estimates. Serving both business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) merchants on a single platform, BigCommerce Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:BIGC) expects to benefit from the increasing investment in e-commerce platforms which is projected to grow to $16.5 billion by 2027. With rising demand from larger B2C and B2B merchants, the company focuses on high-value enterprise accounts to support revenue growth. Overall BIGC ranks 12th on our list of the best tech stocks to buy under $10. While we acknowledge the potential of BIGC as an investment, our conviction lies in the belief that AI stocks hold greater promise for delivering higher returns and doing so within a shorter timeframe. If you are looking for an AI stock that is more promising than BIGC but that trades at less than 5 times its earnings, check out our report about the cheapest AI stock. Chevron Says Fading US Crude Growth Casts Pall on Port Projects Chevron Says Fading US Crude Growth Casts Pall on Port Projects (Bloomberg) — Slowing US oil-production growth is casting a pall over projects intended to expand crude shipments to overseas markets, according to Chevron Corp. Most Read from Bloomberg New terminal construction, a sure bet in the pre-Covid 19 era, is now plagued with uncertainty after exports of US crude in 2024 expanded at the slowest outside the pandemic years. “I think it was a matter of when” prior to the global virus outbreak, Barbara Harrison, Chevron’s president of supply and trading, said during an interview at the Argus Crude Summit in Houston. “I think there’s more of a question now of if” such projects will be built. There are four US projects on the drawing board to build terminals capable of loading supertankers off the coasts of Texas and Louisiana. Enterprise Products Partners LP’s Sea Port Oil Terminal, known as SPOT, is still trying to spark interest among potential customers roughly 10 months after obtaining a federal deepwater-port license. Enterprise Co-Chief Executive Officer Jim Teague earlier this week said commercialization of SPOT hasn’t gotten “enough traction” and the company is ready to “move on” if volumes, fees and terms are not achieved in a reasonable amount of time. It’s a significant pivot from just a few years ago, when companies including Enterprise, Trafigura Group, Phillips 66 and Energy Transfer LP were applying to construct export terminals in the heyday that followed the 2015 lifting of a longstanding ban on US crude exports. In the meantime, the breakneck Permian region production growth that characterized the first decade or so of the shale ***** has begun to slow. Drillers are prioritizing returns to investors and capital discipline over expanding output as the sector matures. US oil-export capacity is estimated to be around 7 million barrels a day, according to consultancy RBN Energy, far exceeding last year’s actual shipments of 4.1 million a day. The outlook for export growth is anemic this year. Chevron’s Harrison sees daily shipments increasing by “hundreds of thousands,” rather than millions. US crude-production growth plunged 70% last year to 279,000 barrels a day. Output in 2025 is expected to tick slightly upward before dropping precipitously next year to just 78,000, according to the Energy Information Administration. PSN Still Down After 15 Hours: Here Is Sony’s Response PSN Still Down After 15 Hours: Here Is Sony’s Response Online services for popular networks go down or suffer intermittent issues from time to time, and that’s exactly what’s going on now for Sony’s PlayStation Network. On Friday evening, players began reporting issues with PSN, and those issues are persisting some 12+ hours later. The Ask PlayStation account acknowledged the issues, which are affecting pretty much ever major PSN service, including account management, the PlayStation Store, and the pretty important feature of launching and playing games. To sum up, this is a pretty significant outage, and as you might expect, people are letting Sony know by broadcasting their thoughts and opinions online. Sony had this to say about the outage: “We are aware some users might be currently experiencing issues with PSN.” PSN is struggling. The PSN going down on a Friday evening after people got off work and came home from school makes this latest outage quite annoying for people looking to play their favorite game. For people in New England, the outage comes just ahead of a huge snowstorm. Here’s to hoping Sony can fix the issues quickly so people can get back to enjoying whatever it is they want to play. You can follow the official PSN Status page to get up-to-the-second updates on how the servers are running. We will update this post as more information becomes available. The PSN infamously went down for more than three weeks back in 2011 after being attacked by hackers. There is no reason to believe something similar is happening this time. From bridges to oil, and defense, robots fix on aging infrastructure From bridges to oil, and defense, robots fix on aging infrastructure A construction worker climbs above a line of fencing at the site of a large public infrastructure reconstruction project of an elevated roadway and bridges in upper Manhattan in New York City, New York, U.S., April 22, 2021. Mike Segar | Reuters The infrastructure that makes up the U.S. is, in some cases, flailing. More than a third (36%) of all U.S. bridges — nearly 222,000 spans — require major repair work or replacement, according to Department of Transportation data. Meanwhile, more than 1,500 people were injured or died at 153 oil refineries across the country in the six years ending in 2023, in part because of sites unwittingly operating damaged structures. In addition to the risk to human safety, damage to an oil refinery causes an increase in the already strong pollution factor. And with climate shocks changing the world and its structures at an increasingly rapid rate, it can be difficult for even the most experienced workers to keep up. That’s where robots come in. “What’s the process of trying to evaluate physical structures like bridges or dams or ships? It’s a very archaic method of, put a human up there […] and write down all the potential damage areas there are, which doesn’t work that well when you’ve got miles and miles of potential damage areas,” said Jake Loosararian, CEO and co-founder of Gecko Robotics. Gecko deploys robots that climb, crawl, swim and fly, which work with sensors and artificial intelligence software to create layers of data that tell you all there is to know about a structure’s health. It can do all of this without putting humans in the line of fire, even though they are the experts who pilot the robots, then make sense of and act on the tech’s findings. Gecko, which launched out of Loosararian’s college dorm in 2013 after he visited a Western Pennsylvania power plant and learned about its failures and explosions, isn’t the only one tackling the infrastructure problem with robotics. Percepto offers an end-to-end drone-in-a-box solution that is equipped with different types of cameras and pairs with its proprietary inspection and monitoring software. “If you’re talking about the oil and gas industry, you can find gas leaks, you can find crude oil leaks, and you can find broken components,” said Udi Zohar, Percepto’s chief product officer. Zohar added that its drone hardware can get to electrical infrastructure in inclement weather conditions that humans cannot (like hurricanes or snowstorms, for example). The drone software also receives alerts and dispatches drones to determine the accuracy of the alert. “You’re saving people time. You’re adding safety to your company,” said Zohar. While Percepto started out with the main use case of providing security at sensitive facilities, it has expanded to offer a range of use cases, including pinpointing weak spots where methane emits or getting utilities up and running after climate disasters. ‘I need more robots, and I can’t build them all’ At Gecko, the data is just as important as the robots. “Initially, we built wall-climbing robots that could basically do sonograms just like a doctor does for pregnancy scans, but for a physical structure,” said Loosararian. By attaching ultrasonic sensors and cameras, robots could not only access difficult-to-reach and often dangerous spots, but also be able to capture information and evaluate changes over time, as well as the root causes of that change. “That begins to affect how you run certain things, or how you predict how long something has to last, or how safe something is,” he said. Companies like Gecko and Percepto are targeting use cases that increase safety and efficiency, and reduce expenditures, in industries like defense, energy and manufacturing. Operation and maintenance (including that of aging assets) accounts for 39% of the U.S. military budget, and the national total deferred maintenance cost may be at least $1 trillion, research shows. By employing robots to proactively tackle structural assessment and prioritize repairs by need, companies and agencies can create a healthier, safer built world, often for less money. Loosararian said the infrastructure-inspecting robotics industry is growing so fast he can’t take it on alone. “My problem is I need more robots, and I can’t build them all,” he said. Meanwhile, Gecko is actively working on an AI model that predicts when assets will fail. Percepto, for its part, is evolving to include more types of cameras and sensors on the drone-in-a-box product. These two companies reflect a greater trajectory — the inspection robot industry at is growing at a rate of at least 30% per year. In the U.S., motorists cross bridges rated in poor condition roughly 168 million times a day. Hundreds of workers inspecting sites fall to their deaths each year. And at oil refineries, factors like corrosion increase dangerous emissions that harm nearby workers and the planet at large, while simultaneously increasing operational costs. While much-needed experts continue to seek structural anomalies, robots — and the people operating them — are swooping in to fill a clear gap for a safer, healthier world. Stephen Holmes dies days after being assaulted at house Stephen Holmes dies days after being assaulted at house Family Handout Stephen Holmes was seriously injured but has since died A man who was seriously injured in an assault in Strabane, County Tyrone, earlier this week has died. Stephen Holmes, 31, was in a critical condition in hospital following the attack at a house in Beechmount Village in the early hours of Monday but has since died from his injuries. His sister Zara described him as an “easy going, gentle soul” who was well liked. Police have now launched a ******* investigation. Speaking to BBC News NI, Mr Holmes’ sister said the father of two was the “baby of the house and wanted nothing for nothing”. “He was everybody’s friend and loved his family,” she added. There was a police presence at the house in Beechmount Village in Strabane during the week following the assault Mr Holmes was initially taken to Altnagelvin Hospital in Londonderry for his injuries before being transferred to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast. 6 mistakes the happiest couples avoid early on: Therapist
Pelican Press posted a topic in World News
6 mistakes the happiest couples avoid early on: Therapist 6 mistakes the happiest couples avoid early on: Therapist In relationships, no action is too small. Every little change you make matters. As a couples therapist with over 30 years of experience, I’ve seen partners repeat many of the same mistakes, often unknowingly. Typically, these unhelpful patterns started early on in the relationship. But don’t be concerned if you’re making some mistakes now. Simple changes, at any time, can go a long way to turn things around. Here are six common tendencies to avoid in a relationship, especially in the early years: 1. Winging it Most people are. We do what was modeled to us growing up, or maybe the opposite. While we educate ourselves as professionals and parents, most of us don’t realize we need to learn how to be a good partner: to deal with conflict effectively, to become a good listener, to repair, and to continually invest in staying connected. DON’T MISS: How to use AI to be more productive and successful at work I invite you to see yourself as partners-in-training and proactively spend time learning from articles, books, and even therapy. 2. Holding your partner responsible for your happiness and well-being A fulfilling relationship, where the love keeps growing, begins when each person understands that their happiness and fulfillment belong in their own hands, not their partner’s. This is precisely why “relationship with self” is placed as the first pillar in my book, “A Soulful Marriage: Healing Your Relationship with Responsibility, Growth, Priority, and Purpose,” and as the basis for building long-lasting love. When you invest in self-awareness, you set yourself up to live more authentically and happily. Knowing yourself becomes the gateway to treating yourself with loving kindness, challenging yourself to grow, and ultimately taking responsibility for your own well-being. 3. Viewing conflict as a bad sign One of the most overlooked mistakes young couples make stems from the belief that a good relationship should be smooth sailing, with minimal fighting or disconnection. The misconception often keeps them from coming to counseling sooner because they fear that admitting to tension means something worse than it really does. But a living, breathing relationship or marriage actually means disconnecting and reconnecting many times. This is how we build trust and grow. Here’s what I often say when couples first enter therapy: “I’m glad you’re here. Your friction is not a bad sign. It means you’re being called to grow. The key is to learn how to approach your conflict to help you grow personally and closer together. This has to start with normalizing your challenges and embracing the issues you’re having rather than seeking quick relief or avoiding them.” 4. Trying to change your partner When something about your partner gets under your skin, the natural inclination is to try to change them. Yes, it’s important to address issues that are bothering you. But more often than not, there’s too much focus on what’s wrong. When you feel the inclination to criticize or change your partner, ask yourself: “Could I use this moment to become more patient, secure with myself, tolerant, or unconditionally loving?” “Is there growth for me here?” “Do I do something similar?” “Am I expecting perfection?””Am I appreciative enough of all that my partner is and gives?” 5. Losing the priority In the beginning, it’s easy to cherish our partners. But making sure that our mate feels like the most important other person in our life needs to be an ongoing priority. The most common threat I see to that priority is when a couple becomes a family with children. In-laws, work, or too much concern about what others think at the expense of your partner’s needs or feelings can also interfere. Young couples should be on the lookout from the get-go for simple ways to fight for their relationship and make their partner feel cherished. This could mean having a date night and a growth night, the former for having fun and the latter for talking about what’s feeling good or not so good in the relationship. 6. Thinking small It’s important to take care of ourselves, invest in our own happiness, and nurture the people in our immediate circles and community. At the same time, to capitalize on all that a relationship can bring into our lives, we need to think *******. Looking for ways that you — individually and as a couple — can make the world better adds a dimension of strength and fulfillment that no amount of need-satisfaction can bring to your bond. Don’t feel like you have to save the world in a day. You can start small, like volunteering, bringing a meal to someone who is sick, or welcoming guests into your home. The idea is to nourish, as a couple, the parts of you that love to give, in ever-expanding ways. I find that when my husband and I are putting our energies together for the sake of others, the spirit of generosity smooths over our differences and brings us even closer. Looming $2.7 billion Pell Grant shortfall poses threat to college aid Looming $2.7 billion Pell Grant shortfall poses threat to college aid Hero Images | Hero Images | Getty Images College advocates breathed a sigh of relief when the U.S. Department of Education said the Trump Administration’s “federal funding freeze” would not affect federal Pell Grants and student loans. Nearly 75% of all undergraduates receive some type of financial aid, according to the National Center for Education Statistics. About 40% of college students rely on Pell Grants, a type of federal aid available to low-income families who demonstrate financial need on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid application. For these students and their families, this aid is crucial for college access. However, there’s a problem brewing. The Congressional Budget Office in January released new supplemental projections for the Pell Grant program, which now estimate a $2.7 billion funding shortfall for the 2025 fiscal year. “If program funding is not shored up, students could face eligibility or funding cuts for the first time in more than a decade,” said Michele Zampini, senior director of college affordability at The Institute for College Access & Success. “We are back in the danger zone.” More students qualify for Pell Grants The new, simplified FAFSA, which first launched in 2023, was meant to improve access by expanding Pell Grant eligibility to provide more financial support to low- and middle-income families. But overall, the number of Pell Grant recipients is down significantly. In fact, the number of Pell Grant recipients peaked over a decade ago, when 9.4 million students were awarded grants in the 2011-12 academic year, and sank 32% to 6.4 million in 2023-24, according to the College Board, which tracks trends in college pricing and student aid. Now data from the Department of Education shows that many more students are on track to receive Pell Grants this year: As of Dec. 31, more than 9.3 million 2024–25 FAFSA applicants were eligible for a Pell Grant. Among recent high school graduates attending college for the first time, the number of Pell recipients is up 3.3% compared to a year earlier, an increase of approximately 30,000 students. Why this year is problematic for Pell Grants Although there have been other times when the Pell Grant program operated with a deficit, this year’s shortfall “was perhaps made worse by the changes to Pell Grant eligibility that increased the number of students eligible for the Pell Grant starting in 2024-25,” said higher education expert Mark Kantrowitz. Not only do more students now qualify for a Pell Grant because of changes to the financial aid application, but more students are also enrolling in college — a reversal from the significant decline in college-bound students after the pandemic. Freshmen enrollment jumped 5.5% this fall compared with last year, with the sharpest gains among those from the lowest-income neighborhoods, according to a recent analysis by the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center. (Because of a “methodological error” in research group’s preliminary enrollment findings, the rebound in freshmen enrollment this year was particularly striking.) “They really low-balled enrollment projections,” Zampini said. “Program costs are based on how many students are expected to enroll in a given year and how many of those students will be eligible for Pell funding.” The Congressional Budget Office’s projected change from a surplus to a deficit is due in part to that shift in enrollment figures from a decrease to an increase, according to Kantrowitz. How the Pell Grant program is funded The Pell program functions like other entitlement programs, such as Social Security or Medicare, where every eligible student is entitled to receive a Pell award. However, unlike those other programs, the Pell program does not rely solely on mandatory funding that is set in the federal budget. Rather, it is also dependent on some discretionary funding, which is appropriated by Congress. In 2024, the discretionary portion of Pell Grant program was estimated to cost about $24.5 billion, funded with $22.5 billion of appropriations, $1.2 billion of mandatory dollars and less than $1 billion of reserves, according to the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget. More from Personal Finance: Morehouse College president: Trump funding freeze is an ‘existential threat’ Student loan debt swelled under Biden, despite historic forgiveness What shutting down the Education Dept, could mean for student loans Because Congress appropriates discretionary funds for the program based on projections of how much it will cost in the upcoming year, “there is an inevitable annual mismatch between how much the program costs and how much funding is actually available,” Zampini said. “It becomes a guessing game,” she added. In previous years, Congress has provided supplemental funding to avoid a shortfall. But if Congress doesn’t fix this problem, “the U.S. Department of Education would be forced to respond by either cutting eligibility or the average grant,” Kantrowitz said. Already, those grants have not kept up with the rising cost of a four-year degree. Currently, the maximum Pell Grant award is $7,395 — after notching a $500 increase in the 2023-34 academic year. Meanwhile, tuition and fees plus room and board for a four-year private college averaged $58,600 in the 2024-25 school year, up from $56,390 a year earlier. At four-year, in-state public colleges, it was $24,920, up from $24,080, according to the College Board. Future deficits could be even greater if the maximum Pell Grant award is adjusted to keep pace with inflation in the years ahead. In one scenario, the Pell Grant program could face a $38 billion cumulative shortfall over the next decade as awards are inflation adjusted, the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget also found. Adding to the complications this year, the Trump administration is reportedly looking for ways to close parts or all of the Department of Education, which is responsible for disbursing college aid. “I am very concerned about the idea that there would be no Education Department,” Zampini said, but “the Pell program has always been bipartisan given its effectiveness and we are hoping that will continue to be the case.” Even if the Education Department no longer existed, another government agency would likely administer the task of distributing those funds, other experts say. Man City advance after FA Cup scare from Leyton Orient Man City advance after FA Cup scare from Leyton Orient English champions Manchester City have had to overcome a real scare against third-division Leyton Orient before a piece of Kevin De Bruyne brilliance helped them advance to the fifth round of the FA Cup. League One side Orient threatened to pull off a famous upset on Saturday when they led 1-0 at halftime against Pep Guardiola’s four-time defending Premier League champions. But City fought back after the break with goals from substitutes Abdukodir Khusanov and De Bruyne. Orient went ahead in spectacular fashion when Jamie Donley’s shot from just past the halfway line hit the bar and rebounded off the back of City goalkeeper Stefan Ortega into the back of the net in the 16th minute at Brisbane Road. It was officially credited as an own goal, but Donley took all the congratulations as he celebrated wildly in front of the home fans. He was also rewarded later with the player-of-the-match award. But the goal wasn’t enough to hold off City’s seemingly inevitable fightback. Rico Lewis’s effort deflected of Khusanov in the 56th to level the match before De Bruyne, who’d only been on the pitch for a few minutes, raided brilliantly to flick a shot past Josh Keeley in the 79th minute to seal victory. It wasn’t all good news for Guardiola, though, with expensive new midfield signing Nico Gonzalez injured and substituted after 22 minutes of his debut. The midfielder, who joined from Porto for a reported $A98.6 million on transfer deadline day, appeared to hurt his ribs after falling awkwardly in a challenge with Orient’s Sonny Perkins. After receiving treatment, Gonzalez held his side as he left the field early and his injury will be a concern for Guardiola ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League play-off against Real Madrid. Bitcoin soars as new policies shake up the industry Bitcoin soars as new policies shake up the industry Trump just made 1 big move to make America the ‘crypto capital of the world’ — claims he’s going to ‘make a lot of money’ for the country. Here’s what he did and 3 ways to get rich from it Donald Trump has wasted no time making cryptocurrency a centerpiece of his presidency. During his campaign, Trump vowed to make America the crypto capital of the world, and since taking office on January 20, he has made good on that promise. One of his first major actions in office was signing an executive order to establish an internal working group dedicated to advancing cryptocurrency adoption. He also appointed South African-American venture capitalist David Sacks as chair of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. The shift toward digital currency — with fewer restrictions from banks and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) — has become a defining feature of Trump’s 47th presidency. “You like (cryptocurrency)?” Trump said, upon signing the executive order on January 23, “We’re gonna make a lot of money for the country.” His aggressive pro-crypto stance has reignited the industry. After struggling through disappointing years, Bitcoin surged over 36% between November 6 — when Trump’s election win was certified — and December 31. During his 2024 election campaign, Trump positioned himself as a “pro-Bitcoin” candidate, claiming it “stands for freedom sovereignty, and independence from government, coercion and control.” He also pledged to fire SEC Chair Gary Gensler on his first day in office. Gensler, who had spent years imposing regulatory restrictions and fines on crypto firms like Coinbase and Binance, tendered his resignation on November 21, 2024, after Trump’s election victory and officially stepped down on January 20. According to Federal Election Commission data, the crypto community donated over $245 million to Trump’s campaign — accounting for more than 50% of all corporate donations. However, Trump wasn’t always pro-crypto. In 2021, he dismissed Bitcoin as a “scam” and preached the U.S. Dollar as the “currency of the world.” “I am not a fan of Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrencies, which are not money, and whose value is highly volatile and based on thin air,” Trump wrote in a series of posts on X in 2019. He also linked crypto to the rising crime rates during his first term. Story Continues “Unregulated crypto assets can facilitate unlawful behavior, including drug trade and other ******** activity,” Trump wrote in another X post. Just a few days before taking office, Trump launched a meme coin called $TRUMP, while First Lady Melania Trump followed with her own, $MELANIA. The president’s cryptocurrency skyrocketed, climbing from roughly $6.50 to $73 in just two days. Meanwhile, $MELANIA rose by nearly 40% to $13 before correcting to $2.30. The Trump family’s net worth increased by billions following the meme coin launches, but the move hasn’t gone without criticism. “We write with deep concern about the decision by President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump to launch two meme coins, $TRUMP and $MELANIA, that allow them to earn extraordinary profits off his Presidency,” said Congressional Democrats Elizabeth Warren and Jake Auchincloss in a letter to multiple regulators. Read more: 82% of Americans are missing out on a savings account that pays over 10 times the national average Trump has touted his 47th presidency as a “golden age for America,” and the cryptocurrency industry stands to benefit. “The reign of terror against crypto is over,” said Sacks, the newly appointed AI and crypto czar, at the Crypto Ball in New York on January 17, “The beginning of innovation in America for crypto has just begun.” Bitcoin crossed $100,000 for the first time since December 2024, hitting an all-time high of over $109,000 on Trump’s inauguration day. Matt Hougan, Chief Investment Officer at Bitwise, predicts this momentum will continue through 2025, with Bitcoin potentially surpassing $200,000 by year-end. However, investing in crypto comes with risks. Bitcoin has already pulled back by over 3% in the past week as initial enthusiasm around Trump’s presidency fades. “Investors should also recognize that volatility can work in both directions: while it presents the possibility of substantial upside gains, it equally entails the risk of significant losses,” said Dovile Silenskyte, Director of Digital Assets Research at WisdomTree Investments. To mitigate risk, consider diversifying your investments. Allocating a portion of your total portfolio to tried-and-true assets can help reduce exposure to crypto volatility. Gold, for example, has long been a hedge against inflation and stock market downturns. With geopolitical tensions rising, analysts at JPMorgan predict gold prices could reach $3,000 in 2025. A gold IRA can help diversify your portfolio while offering tax benefits. Real estate is another way to hedge against market risks while building wealth. As commercial real estate makes a comeback, investing in grocery-anchored properties could provide a stable passive income stream amid uncertainty. Madden Super Bowl Predictions Over The Years: How Often Does EA Get It Right? Madden Super Bowl Predictions Over The Years: How Often Does EA Get It Right? Super Bowl LIX takes place this Sunday, February 9, featuring the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles duking it out for the title. EA Sports historically simulates the Big Game and releases the results of the match-up, and that continued in 2025 with EA’s simulation predicting the Eagles will beat the Chiefs by a score of 23-21. The simulation also predicted that Eagles QB will be named Super Bowl LIX MVP. Here are some further predictions from EA’s Madden simulation of Super Bowl LIX, as written by EA: Final Score and MVP: The Eagles edged the Chiefs 23-21 in a close back-and-forth game that came down to the final drive. Eagles QB Jalen Hurts was named Super Bowl LIX MVP. Early Game Dynamics: The Eagles started strong with Saquon Barkley using his exceptional juking abilities to score the first touchdown. The Chiefs responded with a touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes to Travis Kelce, but an interception by CJ Gardner-Johnson helped keep the game close. Second Half Turnaround: After the Chiefs led 14-10 at halftime, the Eagles took the lead in the third quarter on a touchdown pass from Hurts to A.J. Brown. A crucial defensive stand by the Eagles’ line, particularly Jalen Carter, prevented the Chiefs from scoring on a fourth-down attempt. Clutch Moments: In the fourth quarter, Mahomes led a drive for a Chiefs touchdown, but the Eagles answered back with a field goal to regain the lead. The game came down to the wire with the Chiefs’ final drive ending in a missed field goal, sealing the Eagles’ victory. If you don’t like this prediction or simply want to run your own, you can download Madden NFL 25 on Game Pass today and simulate the game for yourself. EA’s predictions in the past have been eerily accurate, like in 2015 when the simulation predicted the Patriots’ comeback victory against the Seattle Seahawks–and the final score–along with the exact type of pass play that made it happen. It was spooky. But EA isn’t always that accurate with its predictions. Sometimes, the simulation gets it very, very wrong. With the Big Game dominating the sporting world this week, we’re looking back at the past 10 years of EA Sports Madden Super Bowl simulations and predictions. As you’ll see, EA’s track record for predicting the winner has been a mix. EA got off to a hot start by accurately predicting the Super Bowl winners four straight years, from Super Bowl 38 to Super Bowl 41. Since then, however, the simulation never got it right more than two years in a row, but it also never got it wrong for more than two straight years. What does it all mean? Looking at the past decade-plus, EA has accurately predicted the Super Bowl winner about 50% of the time, which is impressive. Off the field, companies are spending as much as $8 million for 30-second advertisements on Fox, which carries the game this year. This year, viewers can expect a lot of ads about AI. Here is a rundown of EA’s Madden Super Bowl simulations over the past years, looking at what was predicted and then what actually happened in real life.
