  2. Family searches for Hannah Kobayashi, who disappeared after missing connecting flight at LAX Family searches for Hannah Kobayashi, who disappeared after missing connecting flight at LAX LOS ANGELES − A Hawaii woman who missed a connecting flight in Los Angeles is missing after she was seen on camera at the airport and a major shopping center, according to her family and police. Hannah Kobayashi, 31, was last heard from Nov. 11, her family says, after she had missed a connecting flight from Maui to New York City at Los Angeles International Airport days earlier on Nov. 8. Kobayashi is described as 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing about 140 pounds and has brown hair and eyes, and fair skin with freckles. The family filed a missing person’s report with the Los Angeles Police Department on Nov. 12. Larie Pidgeon, Kobayashi’s aunt, told USA TODAY on Sunday that the family received text messages from Kobayashi that were out of character just before her disappearance. “On (Nov. 11), we started getting texts saying that she didn’t feel safe, that someone was trying to steal her funds, that someone was trying to take her identity,” Pidgeon said. “Weird things, calling us *****, things that weren’t quite the normal way that she speaks.” USA TODAY has reached out to LAPD for more information. Kobayashi disappearance timeline The family has obtained security footage showing Kobayashi leaving the airport on Nov. 8 wearing a ****** hooded sweatshirt, tie-dye leggings and a dark green backpack. Pidgeon said Kobayashi had been seen twice at The Grove shopping center, approximately 10 miles northeast of LAX. She was seen once around noon by employees at the shopping center’s Taschen book store on Nov. 9 and was seen on video at a Nike event around 3:40 p.m. on Nov. 10. A photo from the two-day Nike and LeBron James event was posted to her Instagram the same day. Kobayashi returned to LAX on Nov. 11 but did not board a flight, according to the family, citing airport staffers. Kobayashi’s phone, which has an Audrey Hepburn case, last pinged at LAX on Nov. 11 but has not been found. Search focusing on train near airport Kobayashi’s family has arrived in Los Angeles to search for her. Pidgeon said the search has focused on the area near LAX, a bus line as well as the C and K-Line trains of the Los Angeles Metro. The family started a GoFundMe page to offset costs associated with the search. Pidgeon said the family hopes to find Kobayashi but recognizes that time is of the essence. “It’s been seven days, but in dog years,” Pidgeon said. “With trafficking, with kidnapping, that could be like three months.” Persons with information on Kobayashi’s whereabouts are asked to call LAPD at 1-877-527-3247 or The Rad Movement at 619-904-0840. 4. Nvidia’s data center Blackwell GPUs reportedly overheat, require rack redesigns and cause delays for customers Nvidia’s data center Blackwell GPUs reportedly overheat, require rack redesigns and cause delays for customers Nvidia’s next-generation Blackwell processors are facing significant challenges with overheating when installed in high-capacity server racks, reports The Information. These issues have reportedly led to design changes and delays and raised concerns among customers like Google, Meta, and Microsoft about whether they can deploy Blackwell servers on time. According to insiders familiar with the situation who spoke with The Information, Nvidia’s Blackwell GPUs for AI and HPC overheat when used in servers with 72 processors inside. These machines are expected to consume up to 120kW per rack. These problems have caused Nvidia to reevaluate the design of its server racks multiple times, as overheating limits GPU performance and risks damaging components. Customers reportedly worry that these setbacks may hinder their timeline for deploying new processors in their data centers. Nvidia has reportedly instructed its suppliers to make several design changes to the racks to counteract overheating issues. The company has worked closely with its suppliers and partners to develop engineering revisions to improve server cooling. While these adjustments are standard for such large-scale tech releases, they have nonetheless added to the delay, further pushing back expected shipping dates. In response to the delays and overheating issues, an Nvidia spokesperson reminded Reuters about the collaborative efforts with cloud providers and described the design changes as part of the normal development process. This partnership with cloud providers and suppliers aims to ensure the final product meets performance and reliability expectations as Nvidia continues to work on resolving these technical challenges. Previously, Nvidia had to delay the Blackwell production ramp due to the processor’s yield-******** design flaw. Nvidia’s Blackwell B100 and B200 GPUs use TSMC’s CoWoS-L packaging technology to connect their two chiplets. This design includes an RDL interposer with local silicon interconnect (LSI) bridges, which supports data transfer speeds of up to 10 TB/s. The precise positioning of these LSI bridges is essential for the technology to function as intended. However, a mismatch in the thermal expansion characteristics of the GPU chiplets, LSI bridges, RDL interposer, and the motherboard substrate led to warping and system failures. To address this, Nvidia reportedly modified the GPU silicon’s top metal layers and bump structures to improve production reliability. Although Nvidia never revealed specific details about these changes, it noted that new masks were necessary as part of the fix. As a result, the final revision of Blackwell GPUs only entered mass production in late October, which means that Nvidia will be able to ship these processors starting in late January. Nvidia’s clients, including tech giants like Google, Meta, and Microsoft, use Nvidia’s GPUs to train their most powerful large language models. Delays in Blackwell AI GPUs naturally affect Nvidia customers’ plans and products. Get Tom’s Hardware’s best news and in-depth reviews, straight to your inbox. 5. Russia resells more gas in Europe after cutting off Austria, sources, data show Russia resells more gas in Europe after cutting off Austria, sources, data show By Jason Hovet, Thomas Escritt and Dmitry Zhdannikov BERLIN/PRAGUE/LONDON (Reuters) -Russian gas flows to Austria were suspended for a second day on Sunday because of a pricing dispute, but other buyers in Europe stepped in to snap up unsold volumes, companies and sources said and data showed. Russia, which before the Ukraine war was the biggest single supplier of gas to Europe, has lost most of its buyers on the continent as the EU tries to cut its dependence on Russian energy. Russian gas is still being sold in significant volumes to Slovakia and Hungary, as well as to the Czech Republic which does not have a direct contract. Smaller volumes are going to Italy and Serbia. Gazprom on Saturday halted supplies to OMV after the Austrian company threatened to impound some of the Russian state firm’s gas as compensation for an arbitration it had won over a contractual dispute. Flows to Austria were still suspended on Sunday but the overall daily supply to Europe via Ukraine – the main transit route for Russian gas to the EU – would remain at 42.4 million cubic metres per day, Gazprom confirmed, around the same volume as usual. It did not comment further. Austria had been receiving 17 mcm per day before the cut-off, and those volumes are now finding new buyers in Europe. Slovak state-owned firm SPP said it was still receiving gas from Russia and suggested others were buying more because there was still “great interest” in Russian gas in Europe. A source familiar with Russian gas supplies in Europe said gas was still cheaper from Russia than from many other sources, so Austrian volumes had quickly been resold. He declined to name the companies which bought gas previously destined for Austria. Austria has said it has plentiful gas stocks to cover the shortfall and can import from Germany and Italy when needed. LAST DAYS The ********* gas market has been sensitive to geopolitical developments and supply issues, with the end of Ukraine gas transit expected at the end of the year. Colder temperatures in Europe have also been driving up heating demand, leading to withdrawals from EU gas storage sites earlier than last year. “Supply and weather drivers have created concerns about end-of-winter gas stocks which, given the EU’s storage targets, might imply a need to buy significant (liquefied natural gas) volumes in the summer,” BNP Paribas senior commodities strategist Aldo Spanjer said. The front-month gas price at the Dutch TTF hub, the ********* benchmark price, closed at 45.72 euros per megawatt hour on Friday, its highest in nearly a year. Story Continues At its peak Russia was supplying 35% of Europe’s gas, but since the Ukraine war started in 2022 Gazprom has lost market share to Norway, the U.S. and Qatar. The company’s remaining flows to Europe are not expected to continue for much longer, with the *******-era pipeline via Ukraine due to shut at the end of this year as Kyiv does not want to extend a transit agreement. The Yamal-Europe pipeline via Belarus has already closed after a dispute, while Russia blamed the U.S. and Britain for explosions under the Baltic Sea that closed the Nord Stream route. Washington and London have denied they blew up the pipelines. The Wall Street Journal has reported Ukrainian officials were behind the *******. Kyiv has denied that. If Ukraine closes the gas transit route, significant Russian supplies will mainly go to Slovakia and Hungary, which gets most of its volumes via a pipeline running mostly through Turkey. Audi A5 gains a sedan variant, but only for China Audi A5 gains a sedan variant, but only for China Although the new Audi A5 five-door liftback is being cheekily marketed as a “sedan” in many parts of the world, there’s now a true sedan in A5 range, but it’s unlikely to be sold outside of China. In July Audi launched the third-generation A5. As part of the brand’s model name realignment, the new combustion-engined A5 range replaces outgoing A4, with even-numbered names now reserved for electric vehicles. 100s of new car deals are available through CarExpert right now. The new A5 L unveiled at the 2024 Guangzhou motor show at the end of last week follows the path trod by the larger A7 L. It not only adds some inches to the wheelbase to improve rear seat space, but also converts the five-door liftback rear end into a true booted sedan. Foreign brands often develop exclusive long wheelbase variants for the China market where rear-seat comfort is a priority. ******** buyers overwhelmingly prefer sedans compared to other non-crossover body styles. Camera IconSupplied Credit: CarExpert Measuring 4902mm long, and riding on a 2965mm wheelbase, the A5 L sedan is 73mm longer overall than the A5 liftback. The A5 L has longer rear doors to accommodate the car’s 65mm longer wheelbase. Unfortunately Audi hasn’t released any official photos of the A5 L’s interior, so we don’t know what the inside of the boot looks like, but it’s probably safe to assume the cabin is carried straight over from the standard wheelbase models. The new A5 L will be built in China as part of Audi’s ****** venture with FAW. Like the short wheelbase A5, the A5 L is built on the Volkswagen Group’s Premium Platform Combustion (PPC), which is an evolution of the longitudinal front- and all-wheel drive MLB architecture. Legends of a Lost City La Ciudad Blanca is a legendary city that was said to be located in the ******* rainforest of Mosquitia in eastern Honduras. Spanish conquistador Hernán Cortés reported hearing “trustworthy” information about the ancient ruins, but never located them. In 1927, pilot Charles Lindbergh reported seeing monuments constructed from white stone while flying over eastern Honduras. Originally published in The ********* Weekly, September 22, 1940 (Public Domain) Explorers Become Latest Victims of the ‘Wrath of the Monkey ****’ Despite the creepy legends that the area is “cursed,” ********* author Douglas Preston and a group of explorers, were not intimidated by the rumors. The group, consisted of ********* and Honduran explorers and archeologists, launched their adventure, combing the rainforests of Honduras and Nicaragua in search of the lost city. During the process, they had to deal with poisonous snakes and crawl through thick foliage to find it, but shortly discovering the ruins in 2015, they contracted an extremely dangerous, life-threatening ********: leishmaniasis. Preston described the horrific symptoms of leishmaniasis with graphic details as National Post reports, “The parasite migrates to the mucous membranes of your mouth and your nose and basically eats them away. Your nose falls off, your lips fall off, and eventually your face becomes a gigantic, open sore.” But despite falling ill, Preston said he still doesn’t believe in curses and doesn’t regret the experience, “I would never trade that experience for anything. It was so powerful,” he told CBS News. More Secrets “Hide” Within the White City’s Ruins According to Preston Within the city’s ruins, the group of the adventurous and brave explorers found a lot of artifacts – dating back to 1000 and 1500 AD – carved from stone and clay, including trays and a throne. Preston appears to be quite confident that there are more secrets hiding within the White City’s ruins, but after almost losing his face and life, he’s not in a hurry to go back and continue the excavation, “It’s just too dangerous,” he said after his doctors informed him that if untreated, parts of his face would “fall off,” becoming an open sore. Additionally, during the following few months, more than half of the group’s explores started displaying early symptoms of the ******** as well and had to undergo grueling treatment, as CBS reports. 12. Republicans suddenly think the economy’s great and the election wasn’t rigged Republicans suddenly think the economy’s great and the election wasn’t rigged The vibes have officially shifted. The economy Donald Trump said was broken? All it took was him winning, and consumer sentiment among Republicans soared. Elections? Suddenly Republicans are on board with the reality that they’re secure. House Speaker Mike Johnson said he saw no evidence of ****** in the 2024 campaign. And the media landscape? Viewership of Fox News has surged since Trump’s win despite his harsh criticism of the network in the run up to Nov. 5. At the same time, Democrats’ sentiment of the economy — essentially how they view its overall health — dropped by 13 percent after Trump’s win. And viewership for ******** MSNBC has seen a downturn. It’s a role reversal that, while heady for Republicans now, will quickly come with all the liabilities associated with incumbency. Republicans are ******** they’re about to see further economic improvement, lower prices and the immigration crackdown Trump promised on the campaign trail. Democrats, meanwhile, have no more status quo to defend — and, like Republicans for the past several years, will be seeking to paint a dark portrait of the opposition party. “For four years, Republicans felt as if they were living in an ‘I told you so,’ and everything that they said around Biden was a reality, whether it was his mental decline or the Biden-Harris policies for the past four years. They felt as if they were right across the board, and that the country was realizing that,” said Matthew Bartlett, a GOP strategist and appointee under Trump’s first administration. “Now Democrats are taking a very similar posture, certainly with a lot of the [Cabinet] picks coming out — saying, ‘We told you what he was going to be like.’” It’s typical for the winning party to see a surge of optimism among its ranks. But pollsters saw the mood shift coming this year for another reason, too: Exit polls showed that voters wanted major change this election — and it was Trump who was ultimately seen as the change agent, as Vice President Kamala Harris struggled to distinguish herself from the Biden administration and the policies voters blamed for their current pocketbook challenges. The economy is where these divides will be seen the most, and the gap between party sentiments is expected to widen further in the months ahead. It’s a trend that began in the final months before election day, when *********** voters were already expressing rosier outlooks as they anticipated a Trump victory, said Micah Roberts, a partner at Public Opinion Strategies who oversaw the economic questions in the bipartisan NBC and CNBC surveys. “We’re going to see Republicans skyrocket to probably the most positive they’ve ever been about the future in the current state of the economy, and Democrats will kind of fall back down to some, much less rosy place,” Roberts said. “Especially when you have this trifecta win, attitudes about the economy are really viewed strongly through a partisan prism.” The risk for Republicans is that the honeymoon ******* won’t last forever. With Trump in the White House and GOP control of the House and the Senate, Americans will be looking for a place to cast the blame if they don’t see the improvements they’re craving. “The best thing Democrats have going for them is that they’re running against Republicans. And the best thing Republicans have going for them is that they’re running against Democrats,” Roberts said. “Once you’re in charge, you can’t control everything, and even the things that you can control, parties in power tend to overstep.” That divide exists even within the *********** Party. Anti-Trump Republicans, who either voted for Harris or sat out the election altogether, are grappling with whether the more traditionalist, Ronald Reagan strain of the party is even worth fighting for anymore, and many of them have lost an appetite for the resistance-style efforts they launched during Trump’s first presidency. “I think that people who have been opposing Trumpism have viewed this very existentially — not from a policy perspective, but from a character perspective, from the hope that we are a better people than this,” said Mike Madrid, a co-founder of the anti-Trump Lincoln Project and a longtime GOP strategist. “At a certain point, you can compel people to speak to their better angels, but if they don’t want to, you’re never going to win that ******. We are not a better people. This is who we are.” On the Democratic side, members have been so despondent about a second Trump victory — and, in particular, Trump’s resounding win of the popular vote — that the public reaction has been just a sliver of what it was to after his first win in 2016: no massive protests in major ******** cities or on college campuses and no major corporate denunciations of Trump. And they’re feeling even less hopeful than they were eight years ago about the future of the country. “Because now it’s very clear who he is. Like, ‘We don’t care that he’s a felon and we don’t care that he’s a *******. We don’t care that he’s corrupt.’ Whereas before, the jury was a bit out, and now we know. And people are saying — like, literally by voting — they’re saying, ‘Yeah, those things don’t matter to me,’” said Vanessa Wruble, co-founder of the 2017 Women’s March. “This time around, there’s a kind of bewilderment. But if we’re feeling bewildered, what it says is there’s something essential we’re missing.” Some Democrats remain hopeful that their party will rebuild — and argue that the lack of a public backlash in the immediate aftermath of Trump’s election isn’t a bad thing as people process the results of the election. Indivisible, which sprung up in the wake of the 2016 election, released a 30-page guide focused on channeling despondency into action during a call this week that was attended by 40,000 people, and it has already signed up 8,000 people to facilitate community organizing meetings across the country. “They’re pulling back from stuff that reminds them of 2017 to a certain extent, but they’re very much looking forward to pathways forward,” said Leah Greenberg, one of the group’s co-founders. “People are very sad. They’re very very sad at what has happened, but they also understood that this was a possibility in a way that nothing prepared people for in 2016. And they understand that we did not have a perfect democracy on Monday, and we did not have a perfect democracy on Wednesday. They understand this is a longer term ******.” Indivisible, MoveOn, the Working Families Party and other progressive groups also hosted a post-election organizing call that was attended by more than 100,000 people. Swing Left, another organization that was birthed after Trump’s 2016 election, is hosting a grassroots organizing call next week to map out its road ahead. And Women’s March, under new leadership, is planning marches in Washington and across the country for Jan. 18, two days before the inauguration, with about 75,000 people already signed up to attend. “After a global pandemic, multiple election cycles, and the disastrous Dobbs decision, we are in a completely new era of ********* politics. Trying to equate the response to Trump’s win in 2016 versus now is an apples-to-oranges comparison,” said Rachel O’Leary Carmona, the executive director of Women’s March. “Women’s March is one of many large organizations convening a People’s March in January to demonstrate our power and continue to build a broad popular front of resistance.” But Wruble, who left the organization amid infighting, won’t be there. Reached Thursday evening, she was sitting with multiple parrots, hairless guinea pigs and a zebra at the animal and art sanctuary she founded. She’s sitting things out after years of divisions among progressive organizations that she said distracted from “prioritizing the real threat.” “Maybe my story is an example of something that went wrong,” Wruble said. 13. Lee Carsley: Mission accomplished as England foundations ***** for Thomas Tuchel Lee Carsley: Mission accomplished as England foundations ***** for Thomas Tuchel The game was changed in the 53rd minute by a flash of genius from Harry Kane, back after being left out in favour of Ollie Watkins for the 3-0 win in Athens and facing some potentially unflattering reviews after another sluggish first-half performance. England’s 31-year-old captain looked heavy-legged and off the pace in a dreadful first half from both sides, but showed the enduring quality that makes him invaluable when he showed stunning vision and range of passing from the left-hand touchline to pick out Jude Bellingham in the area with a perfect right-foot delivery. Bellingham was floored by Ireland defender Liam Scales, who received a second yellow card. Kane scored his 69th goal for his country from the spot and it was game over. Kane has been a central figure to Carsley’s reign in charge, not least with his public and uncharacteristically outspoken slap-down of those England players who withdrew from the squad for these two internationals. He then doubled down on his message as he insisted it endangered the culture former manager Gareth Southgate had built up during his eights years in charge, when it became a pleasure to play for the country again. Kane was speaking as England’s skipper, senior figure and statesman, but it did not stop Carsley showing his own decision-making strength, choosing Watkins ahead of the country’s record goalscorer in Athens. It was a pick well rewarded with an early goal from Aston Villa’s striker that turned a potentially hazardous task into an easy one. Kane is still England’s first choice, but Carsley’s willingness to use Watkins, and the success of the move, proved he does not have to be the only choice. Tuchel will feel the benefit of Carsley’s temporary spell because of his determination to introduce youth, further opening the pathway from under-21s to senior level, and all helped by his insider knowledge of the talent coming through the England system. Carsley used 32 players overall, giving a debut to eight – Morgan Gibbs-White, Angel Gomes, Lewis Hall, Harwood-Bellis, Curtis Jones, Tino Livramento, Noni Madueke and Morgan Rogers. They can all reflect on their contributions with satisfaction, especially Liverpool midfielder Jones, who has looked a class act in his two starts, while Chelsea forward Madueke has looked a constant threat. Gomes made an impression as a midfield option, Gibbs-White showed he can be a creator while there is a big opportunity for Newcastle’s Hall at left-back, where Tuchel’s options look short. The 19-year-old pair Rico Lewis and Kobbie Mainoo, from Manchester City and Manchester ******* respectively, also added to their England experiences, which will be in the positive ledge of Carsley’s handover. Russian air strikes shake fragile G20 consensus ahead of summit Russian air strikes shake fragile G20 consensus ahead of summit By Lisandra Paraguassu and Elizabeth Pineau RIO DE JANEIRO (Reuters) – A Russian air strike on Ukraine on Sunday shook a fragile consensus among the Group of 20 major economies drafting their ****** statement at an annual leaders summit in Rio de Janeiro, three diplomats familiar with the talks told Reuters. ********* diplomats are now pushing to revisit previously agreed language on the topic of global conflicts after Russia unleashed its largest air strike on Ukraine in almost three months. However, sources said even that “simpler” consensus may now be up for reconsideration following the Russian air strike and the prospect of further escalation. ******* Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres told a G20 news conference in Rio that he continued to support efforts for a “just peace” in Ukraine. “Our position has been very clear in relation to … avoiding a permanent escalation in the war in Ukraine,” he said. French President Emmanuel Macron told journalists in Buenos Aires that his focus is backing a Ukrainian response. “With what is happening today, we must first equip and allow Ukraine to resist. This is the key to the coming days and the upcoming weeks,” Macron said before embarking for Brazil. “We will stand by Ukraine for as long as it takes,” said Ursula von der Leyen, president of the ********* Commission, in a Globo TV interview from Rio. Until Sunday’s air strike, the toughest element of the talks in Rio had been shared language on financing to mitigate global warming, as differences at U.N. climate talks in Azerbaijan spilled over to the G20 summit in Brazil. Wealthy nations, especially in Europe, have been pushing for more countries, such as China and major Middle Eastern oil producers, to make obligatory contributions to climate finance targets. For the G20 leaders’ ****** statement, however, Brazil and other developing nations resisted that pressure, sources said. Two diplomats said the negotiators agreed early on Sunday to a text mentioning developing nations’ voluntary contributions to climate finance, stopping short of calling them obligations. 17. Grand Slam of Darts results: Luke Littler thrashes Martin Lukeman to go fifth in Order of Merit Grand Slam of Darts results: Luke Littler thrashes Martin Lukeman to go fifth in Order of Merit “I’m so glad to win it. I’ve been playing well all week. It’s been a long week but it’s paid off,” Littler told Sky Sports. “This is one of the ones I wanted to win. My major record isn’t the best but I just wanted to go deep. Obviously, it’s even better now I’ve won it and it shows I’m still here.” Littler becomes just the third player, after Phil Taylor and Michael van Gerwen, to average over 100 in every match of a Grand Slam. He finished with an average of 107.08 – the third highest in a Grand Slam final – and a breathtaking 12 180s and another 15 140s. Lukeman, who was the first qualifier to reach a Grand Slam final and started the tournament as a 150-1 shot, could not match Littler’s scoring power. During Littler’s 15-leg run, Lukeman only had one dart at a double and that came on an attempted 142 checkout. The pair embraced at the end, with Lukeman, who wins £70,000 for finishing second, full of praise for Littler and his impact on the sport in his post-match interview. “He (Littler) is just different gravy. He’s brilliant, isn’t he?” Lukeman said to Sky Sports. “He’s done great for the PDC, great for the sport, bringing loads of new fans and sponsorships.” Littler, who was only 10 months old when the first Grand Slam event was played in 2007, took a deep breath before raising the trophy to the crowd. A huge smile followed and a gesture to his family as the darts sensation revelled in his 10th trophy of 2024. Littler won all of his matches in the tournament but has not had it all his own way. He trailed 8-4 in the second round to World Grand Prix winner Mike de Decker and was 11-7 and 13-9 down in the first-to-16 semi-final against Scotland’s Gary Anderson. He was also 15-14 down and a leg away from an exit, but Littler broke his throw and then held on to secure his final place. An appearance in next weekend’s Players Championships final (22-24 November) will conclude Littler’s first cycle as a professional. He will then take part in the World Championships from 15 December, with the draw scheduled to take place on 25 November. Littler, who finished runner-up on his debut last year, has been installed as the favourite by bookmakers after winning the Grand Slam. The past two winners of the Grand Slam – Michael Smith and Luke Humphries – have gone on to win the World Championships. Polestar doubling *********** dealer network in 2025 Polestar doubling *********** dealer network in 2025 Polestar Cars Australia will kick off the new year with several new ‘Spaces’ in tandem with numerous dealer partners, the ********-owned Swedish electric vehicle brand’s local boss has confirmed. Speaking with media at the local launch of the new Polestar 4 mid-sized SUV, managing director Scott Maynard said the EV specialist will open seven new sites around the country in collaboration with five different retail partners. “The way the Polestar brand is sold globally is now switching to a more active selling model, and that’s being interpreted in all markets across the world,” Mr Maynard said. “We now have settled on our direction for representation of the Polestar brand here, and that sees us appointing retail partners across Australia.” 100s of new car deals are available through CarExpert right now. Camera IconPolestar Space in Chadstone, Melbourne Credit: CarExpert “These are existing and experienced retail partners that know premium, that get our brand, that we’re just on the cusp of appointing. We’ve now started to get some of those contractual pieces done and out of the way,” Mr Maynard continued. “I’d like to get them all done before we officially say who they all are, but [they’re] falling in line very nicely and that will see us represented by experienced investing retailers across more spots in Australia, and make our range that little bit more accessible.” “It also gives us that depth of experience and network they draw on as well, and a real opportunity as we launch into 2025. That will be all up and running on January 1.” While Mr Maynard stopped short of confirming further details, the news means Polestar will effectively double its current dealer presence, given it now has seven sites across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Hobart and Perth. The retail expansion coincides with the tripling of Polestar’s range in Australia, with the Polestar 3 large SUV and the smaller Polestar 4 joining the existing Polestar 2 fastback in local showrooms in 2024. Camera IconPolestar 4 Credit: CarExpert While Polestar sales volumes in Australia are down 21.63 per cent in 2024 (as of October 31) according to figures supplied by the Electric Vehicle Council (EVC), initial shipments of the Polestar 3 and 4 boosted the brand by 66.67 per cent last month (130 units). That still pales in comparison to Tesla, which did more than 10 times Polestar’s volume in October (1464 units), but Polestar hopes to turn its fortunes around in 2025 with its new models hitting customer driveways. More models are coming, too. Mr Maynard told CarExpert the new Polestar 5 flagship is expected to open for orders in the back end of next year, with first deliveries commencing either very late in 2025 or early in 2026 pending commencement of production for the *********** market. The 5 is Polestar’s new high-performance electric sedan inspired by the Precept concept, set to take on the likes of the Porsche Taycan and Lotus Eletre. Preliminary specifications indicate the hero model will boast a 650kW/900Nm dual-motor drivetrain and a bonded aluminium chassis that’s claimed to offer “class-leading dynamics, rigidity and safety features”. After the 5, the Polestar 6 electric convertible is due to commence production in 2026, packing the same 800V electrical architecture and 650kW dual-motor drivetrain as the Polestar 5 but in a more compact coupe-cabriolet body with a folding metal roof – basically a production version of the 2022 Polestar O2 concept. NYT’s fact-check of RFK Jr.’s claims about popular breakfast cereal stuns social media NYT’s fact-check of RFK Jr.’s claims about popular breakfast cereal stuns social media The New York Times offered a baffling fact-check of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s claim that a popular breakfast cereal in the ******* States contains several artificial ingredients. The former Democratic-turned-Independent presidential candidate endorsed President-elect Donald Trump after suspending his 2024 campaign in August. On Thursday, Trump announced he had nominated Kennedy to head the Department of Health and Human Services in his incoming administration. Kennedy has pledged to tackle chronic health issues facing Americans and take on “***********” within the Food and ***** Administration (FDA) in order to “Make America Healthy Again.” In an interview on MSNBC after Trump’s victory earlier this month, Kennedy suggested the second Trump administration could eliminate entire departments within the FDA: “In some categories, their entire departments, like the nutrition department in the FDA, they have to go. They’re not doing their job. They’re not protecting our kids. Why do we have Froot Loops in this country that have 18 or 19 ingredients, and you go to Canada, and it’s got two or three?” President-elect Trump nominated Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to head HHS. Bill Maher Says ‘My Head’s Not Exploding’ Over Trump Picking Rfk Jr. For Hhs: ‘We Do Need Shaking Up’ The New York Times published a report on Friday analyzing Kennedy’s views on artificial food ingredients that specifically fact-checked the Trump nominee for his claims about Froot Loops using different ingredients in their U.S. product versus ********* product. Read On The Fox News App “Mr. Kennedy has singled out Froot Loops as an example of a product with too many artificial ingredients, questioning why the ********* version has fewer than the U.S. version,” the Times’ report read. “But he was wrong. The ingredient list is roughly the same, although Canada’s has natural colorings made from blueberries and carrots while the U.S. product contains red dye 40, yellow 5 and blue 1 as well as Butylated hydroxytoluene, or BHT, a lab-made chemical that is used ‘for freshness,’ according to the ingredient label.” The strange fact-check, which seemed to prove rather than disprove Kennedy’s point about artificial ingredients being included in the U.S. version of the cereal, drew critics to mock the paper. Rfk Jr. Asks Americans To Suggest Policies For New Trump Administration: ‘Transition Team Belongs To You’ “Spitting out my coffee after reading this NYT ‘fact check’ of RFK Jr.,” X user Brad Cohn wrote in a post that drew over 4 million views on the social media platform. He added in mockery, “‘As you see, the ingredient list is just completely identical, except the US product contains formaldehyde, cyanide, and nearly undetectable levels of saxitoxin.'” “Read this ‘fact check’ on @RobertFKennedyJr from the NYT and tell me with a straight face we don’t need a ******** transformation of our media and health agencies,” Jason Howerton, CEO of REACH digital, posted to X. “This is what passes for a ‘fact check’ at The New York Times,” Turning Points USA founder Charlie Kirk wrote on X. “The media lie a lot, but fortunately for us, they are also VERY *******.” “This has got to be the dumbest ‘Fact Check’ on RFK Jr. from the New York Times… who approved this?” podcaster Jay Anderson posted to X. Click To Get The Fox News App The New York Times did not immediately return a request for comment. Kennedy’s nomination spurred a wave of media reports with warnings from Democrats and medical professionals that Kennedy is a threat to public health and will “cost lives” because of his skepticism of vaccines. 21. Disney removes Star Wars film from 2026 schedule Disney removes Star Wars film from 2026 schedule A new Star Wars movie scheduled for release in late 2026 has been removed from Disney’s line-up for that year. The studio had been due to release another film from the sci-fi franchise, for which details hadn’t been disclosed, on December 18, 2026, but it has now been taken off and instead the recently announced Ice Age 6 will be taking its place, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed. Disney revealed at its recent biennial fan event D23 in Brazil that the follow-up to 2016’s Ice Age: Collision Course had gone into production, with Ray Romano, Queen Latifah and John Leguizamo all reprising their voice roles. A video clip showed Romano shivering in a blanket as he said: “Ray Romano here with some big news! Wow, it’s cold in here. Did the AC break or something?” Latifah was then seen calling her co-star and she said: “Hey Ray, ready to give the big announcement? I see you got my gift. I thought it would be fun.” As she said it, snow began to fall on the sound stage and Ray then declared: “Ice Age 6 is coming to theatres.” Leguizamo closed out the video saying: “The Herd is back, baby! I gotta call everybody I know.” The film will mark the first theatrical title for the series since Disney’s purchase of 21st Century Fox in 2019. Meanwhile, plans are still in place to release Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian and Grogu – a spinoff from the Disney+ Star Wars series The Mandalorian – on 22 May 2026, while director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy is working on another film in the franchise focused on Daisy Ridley’s character Rey Skywalker. And on November 7, the studio announced Simon Kinberg had been brought in to write and produce a new Star Wars trilogy, which will be produced by Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy. Sources told The Hollywood Reporter the films will involve new characters and not be a continuation of the main nine-movie series. Please click here and view the “Content and social-media partners” setting to do so. The teardown of the PS5 Pro is here, and while there isn’t all that much different going on from what we’ve seen with the PS5 and PS5 Slim in terms of repairability, Sony has made one notable change: in the Pro, it’s pretty easy to get to the CMOS battery. Whereas accessing this battery to replace it in the two previous PS5 models required a fair amount of work due to its placement beneath the main board, iFixit found that it’s right under the faceplates in the PS5 Pro and nestled behind a hatch that has just one ******. That’s a nice improvement over the other PS5s, where “you’ve got to take apart almost the whole thing to change [the CMOS battery] out,” iFixit notes. Other than that, things look pretty familiar. That’s not to say the PS5 Pro itself doesn’t have excitement to offer — as our reviewers found, of a console when it comes to performance. Less exciting though is its $700 price tag. Brazil’s first lady Janja Lula da Silva insults Elon Musk at international summit Brazil’s first lady Janja Lula da Silva insults Elon Musk at international summit RIO DE JANEIRO, Nov 16 (Reuters) – Brazil’s first lady, Janja Lula da Silva, swore at billionaire Elon Musk during a G20 social event on Saturday at which she spoke about the need to regulate social media to rein in misinformation. A ship’s ***** sounded as she spoke and she joked, “I think it’s Elon Musk,” before adding, “I’m not afraid of you,” and using an expletive in reference to him. Musk, owner of social network X, reacted to a video of her remarks by posting a laughing out loud emoji graphic. The president’s wife spoke at an event ahead of the Rio de Janeiro summit of the G20 group of largest nations set for Monday and Tuesday. 24. Dr. Deborah Birx says she is “excited” for data-driven discussions in RFK Jr.’s confirmation hearings Dr. Deborah Birx says she is “excited” for data-driven discussions in RFK Jr.’s confirmation hearings Dr. Deborah Birx, former White House Coronavirus response coordinator, said Sunday she is “excited” for the data on key health issues that will surface in Senate confirmation hearings for Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., President-elect Donald Trump’s controversial pick for Health and Human secretary who has spread false information on vaccines and autism. “I’m actually excited that in a Senate hearing he would bring forward his data and the questions that come from the senators would bring forth their data,” Birx said on “Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan.” “What I know for sure is he’s a very smart man who can bring his data and his evidence base forward, and we can have a discussion that many Americans believe already is a problem.” President-elect Donald Trump announced Thursday in a social media post that he’ll nominate Kennedy to oversee the Health and Human Services Department, which encompasses multiple agencies and has a $1 trillion budget. The position has to be approved by the Senate, which, come January, will be controlled by Republicans, which could make the nomination process easier but is not a guarantee. “I am thrilled to announce Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as The ******* States Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS),” Trump wrote in a social media post last week. He said Americans have been “crushed by the industrial food complex and ***** companies who have engaged in deception, misinformation, and disinformation” about public health, and Kennedy would “Make America Great and Healthy Again!” At an October rally, Trump promised to let Kennedy “go wild” on health issues. Kennedy has criticized vaccines extensively in the past, including spreading misleading claims about their safety. He has also pledged to tackle an “epidemic” of chronic ********* and believes that large ***** and food companies are to blame for a broad swath of ailments. Kennedy argues that a number of health issues in the U.S. have worsened, including autism, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, sleep disorders, infertility rates, diabetes and obesity, which he blames on federal inaction. Kennedy has insisted that he is not “anti-vaccine” and has pledged not to ban vaccines under the Trump administration. Kennedy instead promises to “restore the transparency” around vaccine safety data and records that he accuses HHS officials of hiding. This data is expected to be addressed in upcoming confirmation hearings in Congress, a dialogue that Birx said she believes Americans will benefit from learning more about the differing perspectives on concerns surrounding vaccines. “So until we can have that transparency and that open discussion from both sides, I know the members have incredible staffers who will bring great questions from their constituents, and that hearing would be a way for Americans to really see the data that you’re talking about,” Birx said on Sunday. Dr. Peter Marks, the FDA’s top vaccines official, said at an event hosted by the Milken Institute last week ahead of Trump’s decision that he hopes to find common ground with Kennedy and that he is also open to a conversation based on data. “What I would ask of him is that he keep an open mind. We’re happy to try to show as much of the data as we can. And I think the data are essentially overwhelming, in certain areas, but we’ll just have to engage in the dialogue,” Marks said. If confirmed by the Senate, Kennedy will be in charge of a giant portfolio, including the Centers for ******** Control and Prevention (CDC), the Food and ***** Administration (FDA), the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Birx said on Sunday that Kennedy, who ran for president this year but has never held public office and is already facing criticism for his qualifications, would benefit from having an experienced team around him that come from the medical industry. “So really having a management person at his side, a chief of staff, perhaps that has really come out of industry that would know how to bring and look and bring those individuals together that are running the other agencies, because … HHS is probably one of our most complicated departments,” Birx said.
