  1. Diddy Removes $61.5 Million Beverly Hills Home From the Market as He Remains in Jail Amid Ongoing Sex Trafficking Case Diddy Removes $61.5 Million Beverly Hills Home From the Market as He Remains in Jail Amid Ongoing Sex Trafficking Case Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has pulled his sprawling Beverly Hills, CA, mansion off the market—five months after he was arrested on charges of racketeering and sex trafficking, only for the property listing to mysteriously reappear less than 12 hours later. In the latest strange twist in Diddy’s ongoing case, the property disappeared from all publicly-available listing sites, including Realtor.com®, on the morning of March 4, however it was suddenly relisted just a few hours later, with the same agent, Kurt Rappaport. It is currently unclear what prompted the property’s delisting, or why it was suddenly put back on the market—however Realtor.com has contacted a spokesperson for Diddy for comment. The 54-year-old rapper, who is currently in jail awaiting trial, initially listed the home for ***** for a whopping $61.5 million back in September, around one week before he was taken into custody by police. Diddy’s 10-bedroom, 13-bathroom property, which he purchased for $39 million back in 2014, gained global notoriety in March 2024 when it was raided by Homeland Security agents as part of their investigation into the rapper’s alleged ******** activities, along with his $48 million Miami home. Six months after that raid, Diddy was charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution, and now faces up to life in prison if he is found guilty, according to the Associated Press. In the months since his arrest, new details have emerged about the evidence that was reportedly found inside the mansion, which prosecutors say was used as the site of several so-called “freak off” parties, events where the rapper is accused of using his “power and prestige” to “abuse, threaten and coerce women … to fulfill his ******* desires,” according to an unsealed indictment. (Getty Images) The rapper, 54, attempted to sell the home back in September with a $20.5 million bump on the $39 million he reportedly paid for the megamansion in 2014. (Realtor.com) However, in its original listing, the property, which is in the elite Holmby Hills neighborhood, was described as one of the area’s “most spectacular and beautiful estates,” offering 10 bedrooms and 13 bathrooms spread across 17,000 square feet. It was first reported that the rapper had plans to sell the property back in July 2024, less than four months after it was raided by federal agents, along with his expansive waterfront home in Miami. Photos from the raid revealed that agents had conducted a thorough search of both properties, with reports claiming they removed multiple electronics and also opened safes that were found inside both the L.A. and Miami homes. According to the indictment, agents uncovered weapons, drugs, and what has been described as “freak off” supplies, which included narcotics, lubricant, and more than 1,000 bottles of baby oil, per NBC News. At the time, a source told Page Six at the time that there had been “significant property damage” caused at both homes during the raids. Diddy’s Holmby Hills property comes complete with a rather impressive number of amenities, including a bar, wine cellar, library, gym, an indoor sauna, and a pool. However, now, Realtor.com® can exclusively reveal that the artist’s nine-bedroom, 12-bathroom home was removed from the market on March 4. (Realtor.com) The listing also called attention to the home’s “state-of-the-art theatre that can accommodate 35 people,” as well as classic European details throughout the home. “The stunning grounds feature beautiful lawns, mature trees, formal gardens, a resort like swimming pool with waterfall and grotto, basketball court, spa house and an outdoor covered loggia with BBQ, bar, and pizza oven,” the listing stated. The house is one of many incredible properties Diddy has owned and sold over the years. His Miami mansion, which is located on the exclusive Star Island, was previously owned by Gloria and Emilio Estefan and cost the rapper a whopping $35 million back in 2021. It includes two buildings on 1.34 acres, with a total of six bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, and nearly 8,000 square feet, as well as stunning waterfront views. Diddy already owned the home next door to the Estefan property, having purchased that 18 years earlier for $14.5 million. The news of the removal of the home from the market comes after one of Diddy’s famous lawyers, Anthony Ricco, shockingly withdrew from the case, citing unspecified “sufficient reasons” he can no longer represent the music mogul. (Realtor.com) Just last month the case against the shunned rapper was sent to new heights when a high-profile suit accusing Diddy and Jay-Z of raping a 13-year-old in 2000 was dropped. Both of the artists have repeatedly denied the accusations. Days before the shocking suit was filed, Diddy accused NBCUniversal and Ample Entertainment of broadcasting claims they knew were false in the documentary, “Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy,” which was released last month. The lawsuit alleges that makers knew several claims made in the film were false—including that there are videos of the rapper ********* assaulting inebriated celebrities and minors, as well as that Diddy was to blame for a series of murders—but allowed them to be shown to the world with “reckless disregard” for the truth. In the explosive documentary, several people made accusations against Diddy and claimed that he had threatened people. Six months before he put the home on the market, it was raided by Homeland Security agents as part of the agency’s investigation into his suspected sex trafficking crimes. In the wake of his arrest, reports began to emerge about “freak off” parties that he was accused of holding there. In the indictment filed against Diddy in September, authorities accuse him of using his “power and prestige” to “abuse, threaten and coerce women … to fulfill his ******* desires.” They claim that the musician “created a criminal empire” that “engaged in, and attempted to engage in … sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.” Prosecutors claim that at the heart of this “criminal empire” were Diddy’s “freak off” parties, which the indictment describes as “elaborate and produced sex performances” that involved women being coerced into sex and drug abuse. The indictment alleges that Diddy kept video of these events to prevent any of the participants from coming forward with complaints. “Freak-off activity is the core of this case, and freak-offs are inherently dangerous,” prosecutor Emily A. Johnson said during a hearing in September. Authorities claim that Diddy held these “freak-offs” in a number of locations, including at his Holmby Hills mansion, his estate on Miami’s exclusive Star Island, as well as several hotel rooms. Agents are said to have found more than 1,000 bottles of baby oil and several firearms during their raids on his two properties. It was also previously reported that Kanye West is reportedly “terrified to return to the U.S.” because he is facing “multiple lawsuits” amid claims that he and wife Bianca Censori have relocated to Tokyo—less than three months after the rapper splashed out a staggering $35 million on a brand-new megamansion in Beverly Hills. 2. Unexpected Rotational Motion Detected in Ultra-Diffuse Galaxies of Hydra Cluster Unexpected Rotational Motion Detected in Ultra-Diffuse Galaxies of Hydra Cluster Astronomers have identified unusual patterns of movement in a class of faint galaxies known as Ultra-Diffuse Galaxies (UDGs) within the Hydra cluster, located around 160 million light-years away. These small and dim galaxies, previously thought to have a random internal motion, have exhibited rotational movement in nearly half of the observed cases. The findings challenge prior theories regarding their formation and evolution, prompting a re-evaluation of the mechanisms shaping these galaxies. The research, based on spectroscopic data, provides new insights into the role of environment and gravitational interactions in the development of UDGs. Rotational Motion Challenges Existing Theories According to the two studies published in Astronomy & Astrophysics, data was gathered from 30 UDGs using the Multi Unit Spectroscopic Explorer (MUSE) on the Very Large Telescope (VLT) in Chile. The study, conducted under the LEWIS (Looking into the faintest With MUSE) programme, enabled astronomers to analyse stellar motions in unprecedented detail. A significant number of UDGs displayed organised rotation rather than the expected chaotic movement. This suggests that these galaxies may have formed through interactions with larger galaxies, possibly via tidal forces stripping gas and stars from massive neighbours, leading to the creation of rotating ultra-diffuse systems. Key Observations in UDG32 and Environmental Influence A particularly detailed analysis was conducted on UDG32, a galaxy positioned at the tip of a filament extending from the spiral galaxy NGC 3314A. Spectroscopic data indicated that this was not a mere alignment but a direct interaction. The presence of metal-rich stars in UDG32, younger than those in other Hydra cluster UDGs, supports the hypothesis that material from a larger galaxy was involved in its formation. This suggests that UDGs may form in diverse environments, influenced by their surroundings in ways not previously accounted for. Significance of the Findings As reported, Chiara Buttitta, researcher at the National Institute for Astrophysics and co-author of the study, stated that the ability to determine stellar motions in such faint galaxies was a breakthrough. The study’s lead, Enrichetta Iodice, highlighted that the LEWIS programme has significantly expanded the number of spectroscopically analysed UDGs, offering a broader perspective on their formation. These findings contribute to an evolving understanding of galactic structures, reinforcing the importance of gravitational interactions in shaping the cosmos. 3. China raises 2025 budget for grain stockpiling, targets higher domestic output China raises 2025 budget for grain stockpiling, targets higher domestic output An aerial view of COFCO’s State Reserve grain depot in Hangzhou, east China’s Zhejiang province, March 4, 2025. Cfoto | Future Publishing | Getty Images China on Wednesday raised its annual grain production target to around 700 million metric tons and expanded its agriculture stockpile budget, pushing for stronger measures to safeguard food supplies as tensions with trade partners intensify. The world’s largest importer of farm goods brought in more than 157 million metric tons of grains and soybeans last year but is seeking to cut its heavy dependence on supplies that mostly come from the United States and Brazil. Beijing raised its 2025 budget for stockpiling grain, edible oils and other materials by 6.1% from a year ago to 131.66 billion yuan ($18.12 billion), according to an official report. It also allocated 54.05 billion yuan of subsidies for agricultural insurance premiums. The 2025 target for domestic grain output set the bar higher compared to its 2024 target of 650 million tons, after the nation harvested a record 706.5 million tons last year. “With the implementation of the food crop production strategy of improving farmland management and increasing the application of technology as well as the improvement of our ability to guarantee food security, we have the foundation and support necessary to attain this goal,” according to a official National Development and Reform Commission report. In bolstering its commitment on a slew of existing measures to raise crop yield and stimulate planting, Beijing also signalled that it will provide more support for beef cattle and dairy industries which had faced oversupply issues. The report also said China will advance the construction and improve the connectivity of storage facilities for grain, cotton, sugar, meat and fertilizer. “China’s increase in its stockpile budget is part of efforts to establish a minimum baseline or to prevent food reserves from falling to a certain level,” said Genevieve Donnellon-May, a researcher at the Oxford Global Society. The increased measures to safeguard food security underscore Beijing’s efforts to prepare for a long trade war with the U.S. and increasingly complex geopolitical and geoeconomic challenges, she said. In addition to U.S. tariff issues, China also launched trade investigations over pork and dairy imports from the European Union and canola imports from Canada due to disputes over tariffs on ********-made electric vehicles. The total value of China’s agriculture imports fell 8% in 2024 to $215 billion, according to customs data. Encouraging farmers China, which imports about 80% of the soybeans it consumes, said it will expand the coverage of full-cost and production income insurance for soybeans, a move that will encourage farmers to plant the oilseed. At the same time, it said it will continue efforts to lower the use of soybean meal in livestock feed. China has for years explored the use of low-protein animal feed or alternative meals like rapeseed or cotton to reduce demand for imported beans. The report said China will expand the cultivation of oilseed crops and stabilise the production of sugar crops, cotton and natural rubber. Moreover, it will refine the grain pricing mechanism, and implement a minimum purchase price policy for rice and wheat. “The announcement could signal to the country’s major grain growing provinces to further push to increase yields and production,” Donnellon-May said. 4. Qualcomm’s Savi Soin on “Made for India” Products, Strategy, and Enhancing User Experience Qualcomm’s Savi Soin on “Made for India” Products, Strategy, and Enhancing User Experience Qualcomm has been making strides in India to drive digital connectivity while focusing on expansion and launching new platforms to cater to more customers. Some of the marquee announcements from Qualcomm India in the last few months were announcing the new design centre in Tamil Nadu last year and other initiatives to support the wireless ecosystem in India, including university grants (for example, the 6G University Research Program), awards, fellowships as well as support for startups via programmes like Qualcomm Design in India Challenge. Qualcomm Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 System-on-Chip (SoC) makes a 5G phone available for under Rs. 10,000 with partners like Xiaomi, which launched Redmi A4 5G last year. Qualcomm also pushed the envelope for AI PCs with the launch of the Snapdragon X platform in the previous year. The biggest highlight of the platform has been on-device AI capabilities, which Qualcomm showcased at its India launch last week. The company’s effort, which I can say has been nothing short of a Qualcomm 2.0 strategy under Savi Soin, Senior Vice President and President of Qualcomm India, where the brand is focusing on the Indian market from almost every aspect. At the sidelines of MWC 2025 in Barcelona, Gadgets 360 got to catch up with Soin to talk about the many announcements Qualcomm India has made in the last few months. We first wanted to understand the new strategy leading the growth, the team size Qualcomm India currently has, and whether the company plans to add more centres or engineers. Soin started with teams at Qualcomm, saying, “We have a lot of new team members, a lot of new energy. My role was to come in and really showcase what Qualcomm globally is doing. And then, I had the entire Qualcomm India team right behind us to help. And, you know, these are amazing innovators and engineers sitting in various locations around India.” He said, “My strategy was three-fold, so the first is like Snapdragon for India. Get products that are “Made for India” in the market when it comes to either fixed wireless, automotive, or two-wheeler. Let’s get products that you know that are meaningful for Indian customers. We wanted to ensure that we had Snapdragon for India, and you see a lot of events under that same team. Right then, the other thing was to showcase with Snapdragon in India. What are we doing? Last year, we announced our Chennai Design Centre, which specialises in wireless connectivity solutions and primarily focuses on innovations that complement Wi-Fi technologies.” Snapdragon 8 Elite Smartphones Showcased at MWC 2025 On Qualcomm’s new office in New Delhi and other missions, he said, “We have a big office now. So we’re doing a lot of work. Beyond that, we are participating in India in the semiconductor mission AI mission, and really, we are participating to see what we can do to help more under “Make in India” as well. Our second strategy is to have mentorships run on semiconductors and women entrepreneurs. We have many different initiatives closely tied to who we are as a company and what we can deliver to the community and the country at large. And lastly, the third one is to co-drive the ecosystem. Working with developers, as some amazing LLMs are coming in.” Soin also talked about how Qualcomm wants to create a partner ecosystem that takes advantage of the tech. About the year 2024, he said, “And it’s been, it’s been really good to sort of execute on it in 2024, and I think, like I keep saying, We’re just getting started.” Qualcomm has had a longstanding presence in India, even before it became a trend. A prime example is your R&D centers in Hyderabad and Bangalore, which celebrated their 20th anniversary last year. How crucial has it been to keep these R&D centres local and develop products that cater to local demands? Soin added, “You know, I think that our teams are doing well. They’re looking to customise the use cases for the Indian market. It could be an ADAS experience right on our flex platform. What is the requirement for the Indian market? You and I know it is unique. You can have a cow, you can have a cycle, you can have a wall. Yeah, there are so many different things that one has to think about when writing some of these algorithms. It’s not there in Germany, nor is it in any other country in the world. So, I think these and the R&D teams that we have are doing an amazing job working with local partners, showcasing our tech, and implementing commercial deployments. So we’re very excited about what we are actually doing with the engineering team we have. Last year, we opened up a larger facility in Chennai. So that means we’re obviously looking to expand where we need more innovators selectively. I think the amazing engineers we have at Qualcomm, especially in India, are perfect.” Soin also talked about new initiatives Qualcomm is taking, like new experience zones. “I wish I could bring a car to a Chroma store. But you go to the Chroma Juhu store, right where you can where you can experience the phone, the PC, the Smart Glasses, and very soon, the hearables and wearables – all powered by Qualcomm, and I go to a lot of these customers. And, you know, I tell you, in a few meetings I went to, the customers almost wanted to talk to me about how I can improve the user experience of using a phone in the car. They want to talk about how you can help me with the experience of somebody with smart glasses entering a car – they’re all about how we bring a cross-platform experience,” he said. Referring to the Snapdragon X series announcement last week in India, Soin said, “We can make your PC and how it communicates to a phone more seamless. How your phone communicates with the router, how the glasses you use with some of the wireless networking products, we have to offload some of that computation onto a route so you can see a lot of different Snapdragon Dragon-enabled products that are sort of that premium experience.” Briefly touching upon the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 SoC, Qualcomm believes it will help convert non-5G users to a 5G smartphone. Soin said, “See, this is where we are competing in India very effectively. India is going premiumisation, but still, you know, the average ASP is still lower than the US and Japan, but still, like, it’s amazing, you know, to say, hey, we can bring you that same experience. You don’t have to go buy a very expensive phone. And that’s what we are all trying to do, is make it affordable to all.” Qualcomm’s Dragonwing is a new brand portfolio that will cater to businesses Qualcomm announced Dragonwing, the new B2B solution designed to ensure a safe work environment and improve quality. Can you tell me more about this new Dragonwing offering? “We provide the underlying technology. But a lot of the use cases are for drones, whether it’s for defense or for industrial purposes. If there’s an emergency, in the US, there’s a 911 emergency call. Then, you know, first, you know, some of these, the firefighters as well as police, send a drone for us to say, what do you what’s going on? Check it out on the ground. You know, you can get quick. So I think, look, I don’t think a drone is a drone that one size fits all.” He added, “I think there’ll be a lot of IoT in general. Each IoT, like where we call an edge box. That does inferences. It can do inferences for facial detection, for worker safety, for a lot of different for like scrap. You know, some people use it in their factories to make scrap. Some people want to, when you bring your car into the service centre, they want the camera to pick it up. You know how somebody walks around the car and says, Okay, there’s a dent here, you can quickly take a picture to identify the dents in one go, that’s how tech can help. So the experience becomes a lot better. So, for each of these camera edge boxes with AI, everything is custom. You know, it’s now coming down to, you know, what are the use cases that you want? So the customer is exactly right? So, we are excited that we can customise the use case. And we’re looking forward to it.” Finally, when asked about the big Snapdragon X platform launch and how the response from OEMs has been, Soin said, “So look, brands are coming to us because of the form factor. You can check the booth here at MWC 2025, which has so many Snapdragon X-powered laptops. I mean, it’s pretty cool because of the form factor. I mean, it has amazing battery life. And we are providing the experience. Some of the use cases that we’re showing, you know, for India, are perfect. People are already used to them on a phone powered by Snapdragon—for example, noise cancellation on calls on Snapdragon X-powered laptops. I think we showed a demo, a video right at the X launch, right, where somebody sits in a subway or railway station in a very noisy environment where they make an announcement every few seconds. You can use features like transcription, right for a meeting, and live translation. Until now, all of this has not been possible on a device where you are not connected. But, with Snapdragon X laptops, you don’t need connectivity. Features like these work perfectly on-device.” For details of the latest launches and news from Samsung, Xiaomi, Realme, OnePlus, Oppo and other companies at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, visit our MWC 2025 hub. 8. Low snow totals likely in Kansas City. So why is metro under blizzard warning? Low snow totals likely in Kansas City. So why is metro under blizzard warning? You might not be alone if you’re confused after discovering that Kansas City is under a blizzard warning as a powerful storm system crashes through the region Tuesday. After all, snowfall totals aren’t expected to be that high. Isn’t a blizzard more of a winter event with lots of snow? Not exactly. “Well, for this one, we’re looking at a blizzard warning because really, we’re looking at these high winds,” said Ryan Cutter, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Kansas City. “A blizzard warning you would go with any time you get some snow and really high winds.” There are no minimal snowfall amounts required for a blizzard. Snowfall totals are expected to be 1 to 2 inches in the Kansas City area, Cutter said. “But with the wind speeds — they’re blowing around sustained 30 mph with gusts 50 or more — we’ll see where that snow ends up,” Cutter said. “You’re going to have spots that get scoured clean and then spots where it just piled up because of the wind.” The blowing snow will reduce visibility for anyone traveling, especially those on east and west highways. The weather service defines a blizzard as a severe snowstorm in which winds must be sustained or frequently gusting at least 35 mph, falling or blowing snow must reduce visibility to 1/4 mile or less, and these conditions must persist for at least three hours. Blizzard warnings are rare in Kansas City, according to data examined by The Star. Since 1986, there have only been four other blizzard warnings issued for the five counties that make up the immediate Kansas City metro area, which includes Wyandotte and Johnson counties in Kansas and Clay, Platte and Jackson counties in Missouri, according to data by the Iowa Environmental Mesonet at Iowa State University. Those warnings were issued Dec. 24, 2009, Feb. 1, 2011, Nov. 25, 2018, and Jan. 5, 2025, for storms that occurred around those dates. Cutter, who has been with the weather service’s Kansas City office since September 2001, remembers the one issued in 2009, which he said might have been their first one. “I remember we were sitting around the office debating and trying to figure out if we needed to do that or not because we hadn’t done that before because we hadn’t needed to do that, at least at that point in this office’s history,” Cutter said. Rain to transition to snow in Kansas City Southerly winds were pulling moisture up from the Gulf as it rained Tuesday morning in the Kansas City area, Cutter said. The rain was getting wrapped into a low-pressure system that will move across the metro area in the afternoon, deepening as it goes. As the low-pressure system deepens, powerful winds will develop and shift to the northwest, Cutter said. Already, western Kansas is seeing winds of 50 to 60 mph wind gusts. There will be a lull that people will notice before the winds pick up. Cutter likened it to being in the eye of a hurricane. “And then all of sudden, like an hour later, whack,” Cutter said. Between 8 and 10 p.m., “you start to really notice the northwest winds kick up and start getting really blustery,” Cutter said. After midnight, sustained wind speeds will jump above 30 mph with gusts of 50 mph or higher, particularly early Wednesday. By sunrise around 6:45 a.m. Wednesday, winds will still be around 30 mph. The gusts will likely ease in the later morning hours, but the strong winds are expected. “The snow is almost incidental to the wind speed because winds speeds are really what’s going to cause the issue,” Cutter said. “It’ll blow things around, reducing visibilities quite significantly, especially with the snow and wind combined, and then, yeah, causing all kinds of issues if you’re out.” Local Radar Image Restrict travel to emergencies only People are being encouraged not to be out driving overnight. If they do head out, it should be restricted to emergencies only. “It would not be a good idea, especially in high-profile vehicles,” Cutter said. “Even if it wasn’t getting cold enough to turn to snow, 50 mph winds and rain is bad enough, let alone add snow, where your visibilities really do get reduced quite significantly.” To make matters worse, the howling winds will send wind chill values into the teens. 10. Qualcomm CEO says its new modem creates a ‘huge delta’ with Apple Qualcomm CEO says its new modem creates a ‘huge delta’ with Apple Apple webpage with iPhone 16e ad is screened on a mobile phone for illustration photo. Beata Zawrzel | Nurphoto | Getty Images Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon told CNBC its latest modem will create a big distance in performance versus Apple, which has made its first foray into the technology. Modems are a key component of smartphones that connect the device to the mobile network. Qualcomm is one of the biggest modem suppliers in the world and for years has been the go-to company for Apple’s iPhones. But in 2019, Apple bought Intel’s modem business with the view of designing its own modem in-house, much like it does with its smartphone processors. It has taken some time for Apple to release its first modem and it did so quietly with the launch of the iPhone 16e last month. The cellular modem is called the C1. This week, Qualcomm announced the X85, its latest high-end modem. In an interview with CNBC on Tuesday, Amon touted the improved performance of the modem, suggesting it would create a big gulf between it and Apple. “It’s the first modem that has so much AI, it actually increases the range of performance of the modem so the modem can deal with weaker signals,” Amon told CNBC. “What that will do will set a huge delta between the performance of premium Android devices, and iOS devices, when you compare what Qualcomm can do versus what Apple is doing.” The iPhone 16e is Apple’s cheapest smartphone on the latest range. Several reports suggest Apple is working on modems for its higher end iPhones. Amon reiterated a statement he has made previously that he expects Qualcomm will not supply Apple with modems in 2027. Addressing potential technology advances with Apple’s modem, Amon said the components will be key for AI and Qualcomm will be able to address that. “If modem is relevant there’s always a place for Qualcomm technology,” Amon said. “In the age of AI, modems are going to be more important than they have ever been. And I think that’s going to drive consumer preference about do they want the best possible modem in the computer that’s in their hand all the time,” Amon added. Apparently STALKER 2 charted on Xbox (per him), but he’s the same guy that will then tell you to “stop bringing up sales” and won’t show the “chart” displaying the data. Now who knows how successful Avowed really is, but I would not be surprised to see it also end up on rival consoles. 15. The problem with forcing employees to list workplace achievements The problem with forcing employees to list workplace achievements For some workers, compiling a weekly progress report is a routine part of their job, and forgetting to do it usually carries little or no consequences. However, the ramifications can be more severe for others – as many US federal employees found out when they received an email instructing them to submit their weekly accomplishments or face having to quit. Elon Musk, who leads the White House’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), warned on X: “Failure to respond will be taken as a resignation.” While the latest move by the Trump administration to curtail government spending through funding cuts and firings may not apply to everyone, the situation does highlight the potential pitfalls of employers asking staff to compile a list of what they’ve done over a certain *******. Summarising accomplishments in the workplace can lead to issues such as heightened stress and an increase in performative work in a bid to look busy, instead of carrying out more meaningful chores, warns John Beck, a lawyer and founding partner at Beck & Beck Missouri Lawyers. “When you force workers to justify their jobs on a weekly basis with the threat of resignation, you create an environment where actual productivity takes a ********* to survival. The outcomes are rarely positive,” says Beck. Read more: Does AI lead to less pay for workers? “It forces employees into a defensive mindset. Instead of focusing on meaningful work, they start thinking about how to protect themselves, leading to unnecessary documentation, redundant reports, and wasted time.” It’s likely workers will prioritise engaging in performative work, where workers give the appearance of productivity rather than delivering actual results. “When people know they’re being judged based on what they can prove in writing every week, they will focus on tasks that look good on paper rather than those that actually matter,” Beck adds. Another issue is that it can be difficult to convert qualitative tasks into quantifiable achievements. Workers are under increasing pressure to ‘be productive’, but it can be difficult to quantify what counts – and what should be included on a formal list. Asking employees to list their accomplishments in the workplace can lead to unnecessary stress. · Peopleimages via Getty Images “This issue of forcing workers to list achievements comes back to our inability to clearly articulate what we mean by productivity for those working in an office,” says Jenni Field, a leadership expert and founder and CEO of Redefining Communications. “While that remains a challenge, there is a more practical issue here and that is giving employees objectives, having regular conversations about how those objectives are progressing and dealing with any challenges along the way,” adds Field. “How can we expect people to list achievements if there has been no conversation about what success looks like?” Story continues While some workers may find it easy to list what they’ve done in a week, for others, it isn’t so straightforward. Those with intangible contributions – who often handle ongoing work that doesn’t fit neatly into a weekly progress report – may struggle to create such a report. Read more: What is career catfishing and why is it on the rise? “Subjective interpretability makes this worse – what one manager sees as essential, another may dismiss as trivial,” says Beck. “Different managers will interpret these reports differently, leading to unfair treatment and arbitrary decisions. For example, I’ve had clients penalised for ‘not producing enough’ despite handling critical behind-the-scenes work that kept entire operations running.” Many companies require workers to outline their achievements and, usually, this is for the purposes of a performance review. According to David Rice, a HR expert at People Managing People, it is a fairly standard practice at a lot of companies. “It’s just something for managers to engage employees around and ensure they’re working on the right things and provide feedback,” he says. “This is obviously a far more extreme and toxic version of that, which will feel threatening and ‘micromanage-y’ and thus create a lot of stress, job insecurity, and people lying about what they’re doing.” Is there a better alternative to forced accomplishment lists? Instead of pressuring employees to list their weekly achievements, employers should focus on creating a supportive and collaborative atmosphere that emphasises ongoing feedback and recognition. “Regular check-ins and feedback are a much more effective approach,” says Rice. One-on-one sessions allow employees to share progress, seek guidance, and celebrate successes. Leaders should prioritise overall performance and long-term objectives, rather than tracking weekly output. A happier, more relaxed employee is more likely to be engaged, motivated, and feel valued without the fear of punitive consequences. And if you’re asked to list your achievements, highlight tasks that demonstrate impact, such as completed projects, problem-solving, or progress towards goals. If expectations are unclear, don’t panic – ask for guidance on how best to present your accomplishments in line with team or company goals. 18. Fallout 76 Season 20 Coming March 18 – Everything You Need To Know About Glow of the Ghoul Fallout 76 Season 20 Coming March 18 – Everything You Need To Know About Glow of the Ghoul Fallout 76’s 20th season arrives on March 18, and it has been dubbed ‘Glow of the Ghoul’. This is in recognition of the most critical element of this new season – players can finally become a ‘ghoul’ character in the game. This long-awaited change was revealed several months ago, and when Glow of the Ghoul finally arrives on March 18, it’ll be available in-game. Fallout 76 Season 20 will run from March through to June, and plenty of events and limited-time offers are popping up over the next few months, including an all-new event called ‘The Big Bloom’. Fallout 76 – Glow of the Ghoul Glow of the Ghoul ushers in one of the most dramatic changes to the post-apocalyptic MMORPG in recent years. Players will be able to turn into a ghoul, soaking up radiation and altering their image, biochemistry, and abilities – but don’t worry, the change can be reverted if you don’t enjoy the new build. On March 20, Bethesda Game Studios is kicking off a ghoul-based photo mode contest to see which characters look the best with this new build base. Here’s the full calendar for Fallout 76 Season 20: The Big Bloom starts on April 29 and runs to May 13. This new limited-time event is one of the first seasonal events to be added to the game in a very long time, as the calendar typically portrays a rinse-and-repeat model of prior events. That’s true here, but The Big Bloom is a nice addition to the rotation. Of course, a new season also means a stack of new items in the Atomic Shop, so it’ll be worth keeping an eye open with the resets to see what pops up. This season is all about toxicity, radiation, and disease – which is probably more exciting than it sounds. Here’s a short trailer promoting Fallout 76 Season 20: Bethesda Game Studios is doing a great job of keeping the fires stoked in Fallout 76, but some players have criticised the Season 20 update on social media. Aside from the new ghoul transformation – which not everyone will take advantage of – Fallout 76 Season 20 offers very little in the way of changes. Typically, Fallout 76 has one or two major updates a year, and while this fairly dramatic change is a series first and quite a milestone for Fallout fans, it’s not exactly what fans were hoping to see for the game’s twentieth season. Will you be turning into a ghoul when Fallout 76 Season 20 launches on March 18? Let me know in the comments. I ran out of the gate to find Azaleia on the ground.” Azaleia was transported to the hospital in critical condition where she remains intubated at Kapiolani Medical Center. Police said the 7-year-old turned into the path of an oncoming car and the juvenile driver remained at the scene. Hawaii’s e-bike dilemma: Safety, laws, confusion “He rendered aid. I know he didn’t mean to do it to Honey Buns,” Young said. “I can only imagine what they’re going through today. 20. Trump looms over ******** smartphone players’ successful global push Trump looms over ******** smartphone players’ successful global push The Xiaomi booth at the Mobile World Congress 2025 in Barcelona, Spain. Arjun Kharpal | CNBC BARCELONA — U.S. President Donald Trump’s continued clashes with China over tech and trade looms heavy over ******** smartphone vendors who have grown globally in the past few years, creating uncertainty over whether some of these companies may be targeted by Washington, similarly to Huawei. At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, ******** electronics players from Xiaomi to Honor and Oppo were out in force, showing off their latest devices. Xiaomi even had its latest electric vehicle — the SU7 Ultra – on show as it looked to create a buzz. Xiaomi also launched a high-end smartphone while Honor announced a $10 billion investment in AI. Oppo touted its AI privacy features and other lesser-known players like Tecno, owned by Transsion, unveiled products like AI glasses. Huawei was also in attendance, and showed off the Mate XT, a trifold smartphone which it has launched in international markets as it charts a very cautious comeback to the global sphere. To some extent, Huawei serves as a cautionary tale to other ******** players. The Shenzhen-headquartered firm was once the biggest smartphone vendor in the world until U.S. sanctions crushed its handset business. Just as Huawei is looking to dip its toe into international smartphone sales again and other ******** players are growing quickly, Trump is back in the White House, which is likely to overshadow these companies’ presence at MWC, according to Ben Wood, chief analyst at CCS Insight. “I think also unfortunately for Huawei, just as they are starting to get back on their feet, the re-emergence of Trump and his overall strategy with regards to ‘America First’ and placing pressure on the ********, not only affects Huawei, but it affects all of the ******** manufacturers that will be at MWC,” Wood told CNBC. “I think it’s very much going to be the elephant in the room at MWC with regards to a huge amount of investment and lavish spending by the ******** manufacturers, with the shadow of what’s going to happen in coming months hanging over them.” Xiaomi, Oppo and Honor were not immediately available for comment when contacted by CNBC. ******** players have been a feature of MWC for several years as they’ve expanded their footprint globally. Now eight of the top 10 smartphone players are headquartered in China, according to Canalys data. Xiaomi for example is the world’s third-largest. Xiaomi displayed its new SU7 Ultra electric car at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. Arjun Kharpal | CNBC Xiaomi has grown its presence in Europe while others, like Transsion, have focused on emerging markets. With that success also comes the potential for further scrutiny, Wood said. “The danger for these manufacturers is if they put their head too far above the parapet, they’ll start to get scrutiny from the U.S. administration,” Wood said. “So I think they have to tread a fine line in Barcelona and make sure that they don’t make too much noise because the last thing they want is to be the poster child for ******** technology and become the latest focal point for Trump and his advisors.” So far, Trump has focused on raising tariffs on ******** imports. But there has been little action on the technology restriction front. Under the previous President Joe Biden, Washington brought in several rounds of restrictions that looked to cut off China’s access to advanced technology in areas such as semiconductors. Europe focus Other analysts agree there is a risk of increased scrutiny but point to a couple of key reasons why other ******** manufacturers may not be restricted the way Huawei was. Francisco Jeronimo, vice president for data and analytics at International Data Corporation (IDC), said that the ******** brands are focusing their efforts on Europe rather than the U.S., which could help deflect scrutiny from Washington. “They [******** players] definitely don’t have a chance selling in the U.S., but if they continue targeting Europe as they are, I don’t think that’s a risk and I don’t think it will come to a point where the U.S. administration will tell whatever countries in Europe they need to stop selling Xiaomi or Honor or any other brand,” Jeronimo told CNBC. “I don’t think there’s a massive risk because at the end of the day as they are not targeting U.S. consumers.” Honor announced at $10 billion AI investment called the Honor Alpha Plan at the Mobile World Congress 2025 in Barcelona. Arjun Kharpal | CNBC Another reason why the U.S. may not target ******** firms as heavily as Huawei is because it could harm American tech firms, according to Neil Shah, partner at Counterpoint Research. “It’s hard to say how much Trump will tighten the screws on ******** players because they’re dependent on Google, Microsoft and Qualcomm,” Shah told CNBC. ******** players selling outside of China run Google’s Android operating system on their smartphones. Meanwhile, many of them rely on chips from U.S. firm Qualcomm. Many ******** smartphone makers also sell laptops and tablets which may run Microsoft’s Windows operating system. Restricting ******** companies’ access to this technology could harm U.S. firms, Shah argues. “Qualcomm will lose out, Microsoft will lose out and eventually Google will lose out as well,” Shah said. 22. ‘Sticking needles in my eyeballs’: Some Democrats couldn't sit through Trump's speech ‘Sticking needles in my eyeballs’: Some Democrats couldn't sit through Trump's speech House ********* Leader Hakeem Jeffries wanted a “solemn” response to President Donald Trump’s congressional address Tuesday. His members had other ideas. Moments after Trump began speaking, Texas Rep. Al Green rose and interrupted the president until he was ejected from the chamber. Other members held signs blasting Trump and his policies. Repeatedly they met Trump’s partisan provocations with chants and jeers. Many simply walked out of the chamber, leaving the Democratic section increasingly empty as the speech went on. The ********* party is still trying to find its footing and a winning message after losing control of government last fall, and the protests and walkouts underscored just how difficult it will be for Democratic congressional leaders to effectively harness the anger of their party’s voters, activists and elected officials. Jeffries and other party leaders have counseled a measured approach, one focused on the impacts of Trump’s policies — particularly the cuts being undertaken by billionaire ally Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency. Lawmakers were encouraged ahead of the speech to emphasize the effects of Trump and Musk’s overhaul of the federal government and to bring guests impacted by the House GOP budget blueprint or by Musk’s actions. Some of the Democratic protests were largely in line with that directive. The Congressional Progressive Caucus, for instance, distributed signs to its members to signal disapproval of specific Trump policies, believing their silent protest was in line with leaders’ wishes. This bloc and some of the other Democrats had given leadership a heads-up about their plans, even as they were encouraged not to bring props like signs and whiteboards. Rep. Mark Takano (D-Calif.), a Progressive Caucus member who walked out, said what was “important to our leadership was that we stayed focused on the message” but that there was room for Democrats, as the ********* party, to make their opposition to Trump plain. “We’re doing the best with what we have — we don’t have gavels,” said Takano. In a statement after the speech, Jeffries called it “one of the most divisive presidential addresses in American history” but didn’t address the protests from members of his caucus. His wish for a “solemn” response invoked a word often used by his predecessor as top Democratic leader, Rep. Nancy Pelosi of California, who had little patience for freelance activism at high-profile, high-stakes moments. Parts of Trump’s speech Tuesday night were marked by spasms of raw anger. With the trauma of the Jan. 6 insurrection and the brutal beatings of Capitol officers still fresh in their minds, Democrats shouted “Jan. 6” at Trump when he praised law enforcement during the speech. Democratic lawmakers sprinted for the exits when Trump wrapped up the address, and none lingered to talk to the president as he left the House chamber. “To be honest with you, I would have rather spent time sticking needles in my eyeballs than sitting through this speech,” said Rep. Jim McGovern (D-Mass.). “It was awful.” Many Democrats who made gestures of protest saw their demonstrations as a way to counter the disruption wrought by Trump and his allies. “If they’re moving different, we have to move different, and that’s how we match their energy, and that’s why I walked out,” said Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.). “I did something unprecedented today, because they are doing something unprecedented every day — making history for the wrong reasons.” The rising tide of demonstrative behavior from the opposition party arguably began in 2009 with South Carolina GOP Rep. Joe Wilson’s outburst of “you lie” at then-President Barack Obama. More recently, Republican members such as Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia and Lauren Boebert of Colorado shouted during President Joe Biden’s joint addresses. But Republicans criticized Tuesday night’s protests of Trump all the same. “The level of vitriol from the Democrats was the worst it’s ever been,” Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.) told reporters. “It’s a new, terrible standard.” Most Democrats, meanwhile, refrained from criticizing their colleagues who protested the president. “I think that there should be more decorum on both sides, and I think there should be bipartisanship, but unfortunately we’re not living in that day and age,” said purple-district Rep. Vicente Gonzalez (D-Texas.). “There’s a lot of emotions around this country, and we saw them tonight on both sides.” Democrats have faced pressure from their base to mount a more determined resistance to Trump, and some of those who protested Tuesday said that they wanted to show that resistance. “It’s worth it to let people know that there are some people who are going to stand up” to Trump, Green told reporters after getting expelled from the chamber. He shouted that Trump had “no mandate” to pursue his agenda, later explaining he was protesting proposed cuts to Medicaid and other programs. Speaker Mike Johnson said following the speech that Green should face a congressional censure for his disruption. (Wilson was handed a reprimand, a less severe sanction, for his outburst in 2009.) Green said he was prepared to “accept the punishment” and had no regrets about acting out. “It is the best way to get it across to a person who uses his incivility against our civility,” he said. Lisa Kashinsky, Mia McCarthy and Meredith Lee Hill contributed to this report. 25. Samsung Electronics’ union in South Korea approves 5.1% wage hike Samsung Electronics’ union in South Korea approves 5.1% wage hike SEOUL (Reuters) – Samsung Electronics’ main union in South Korea voted in favour of a wage increase deal on Wednesday, the company said. Last month, the tech giant and the union struck the deal for a 5.1% pay rise for this year, which needed to be ratified by union members.
