Essentially, this follows in the footsteps of the sim’s complete re-release back in December, which means you can expect more features, plots, and enhanced visuals in the latest 3.1 update. You can now get your hands on the “Sovereign” update for the Suzerain DLC “The Kingdom of Rizia”, putting your political prowess to the test across advisors and foreign powers that each have their own agenda. How you navigate the treacherous waters of governance is entirely up to you, with fresh dilemmas you’ll have to strategise for to prove you’re worthy of leadership. With the Royal Decrees expansion, you can take the reins over the policies of your kingdom with an intuitive decree system, along with fresh dialogues you can discover as you get to know a variety of colourful characters. You’ll also need to grapple with expanded economic choices, such as building factories for industry, sanctuaries for the poor, and pass laws that will shape the country. Additionally, the Archetype Selection feature, for instance, lets you pick an Archetype to determine your past decisions without having to play the previous game. Vance says Russia ‘asking for too much’ to end war with Ukraine Vance says Russia ‘asking for too much’ to end war with Ukraine STORY: :: Vance says Russia and Ukraine must talk directly to end the war :: May 7, 2025 :: Washington, D.C. :: JD Vance, U.S. Vice President “I think for too long, the Russians, the Ukrainians have been fighting. Obviously, there’s been a lot of people dying on both sides, there have been a lot of innocent loss of life. And our view is it’s absurd that you’ve had this war go on for so long and the two sides aren’t even talking constructively about what would be necessary for them to end the conflict. // I wouldn’t say that the Russians are uninterested in bringing this thing to a resolution. What I would say is, right now, the Russians are asking for a certain set of requirements, a certain set of concessions in order to end the conflict. We think they’re asking for too much, okay. And then, obviously, the Ukrainians matter a lot. They’re the other side, they’re the other party, at least, to the direct conflict. And we have to ask what is the Ukrainian, what do they need in order to bring this conflict to a successful completion? And we’re going to continue to have that conversation.” Source link #Vance #Russia #war #Ukraine Pelican News View the full article at [Hidden Content]
  3. Will Fallout 5 Come Out Before Elder Scrolls 6? Recent Bethesda Report Is Bad News Will Fallout 5 Come Out Before Elder Scrolls 6? Recent Bethesda Report Is Bad News Bethesda recently gained back a lot of goodwill from gamers with the successful launch of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered. But where does that leave us in terms of the next big games? Is Fallout 5 in development? Will we get it before or after The Elder Scrolls 6? Many questions, but no answers, only rumors. According to the latest report, the next Fallout game is even further off than you might expect. The studio is currently working on The Elder Scrolls 6, which itself may not release until 2028. So if we’re hoping for the next Fallout game, we’ll have to wait well into the next decade, if not later. Fallout 5 is not coming anytime soon, and certainly not before The Elder Scrolls 6 The most recent news we have about Fallout 5 comes from Xbox insider and YouTuber Colt Eastwood, who recently reported that the game is at least five to six years from release. If we should believe this timeline, it would place the game’s launch somewhere between 2030 and 2031, if everything proceeds smoothly. And we know with recent experience that that’s a big “if.” The current priority at Bethesda is The Elder Scrolls 6, which is still in pre-production and not expected until 2028 at the earliest. Only after Elder Scrolls 6 is completed will Bethesda fully turn its attention to Fallout 5. We’ve already gotten confirmation from Todd Howard about this development order. During a 2022 interview, he said that Fallout 5 would follow The Elder Scrolls 6. He has also previously noted that making one of these massive RPGs typically takes about five years. So, if you think about how long Starfield took and the post-launch support that it got, we can assume there’s a lot of time left till the next Fallout. Todd Howard confirms Fallout 5 to be in production after the release of Elder Scrolls 6. Also, once Starfield is released next year, TES6 will be in pre-production. Bethesda takes nearly 10 years for these big projects. We will likely see Fallout 5 in 2042. I’ll be 55. pic.twitter.com/amhifi6poR — TKs-Mantis (@TKsMantis) June 14, 2022 And since there are big gaps between these AAA projects, Eastwood also suggests that Obsidian Entertainment, creators of Fallout: New Vegas, may be working on a spinoff Fallout game. According to Eastwood, a LinkedIn profile hinted that Obsidian is working on an unannounced game that he speculates could be a spinoff. Bethesda has already tested these waters recently The Oblivion Remaster has been a hit. | Image Credit: Bethesda Game Studios It wouldn’t be something entirely new to Bethesda. The studio recently released The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered and has found huge success. And just like this rumored Fallout spinoff, it was made by a different developer entirely, Virtuos Games. We gobbled up a next-gen remaster of Oblivion, and we would do the same with any classic Fallout title. Still, you should note that Obsidian is also juggling several other major projects. These include Avowed, which just launched, and The Outer Worlds 2, scheduled for release later in 2025. So we don’t even know if the studio has the manpower for a Fallout project. But still, if true, a spin-off would at least give us something to play before the next big game. All things considered, the reality is pretty sobering for us gamers. If we’re lucky, we might get a spinoff to help shorten the wait. But for the next true Fallout experience, we may be waiting until the early 2030s. Are we heading toward a 15- to 17-year gap between Fallout 4 and Fallout 5? Sadly, all signs point to yes. 4. Secrets of Maya Blue Pigment Making Revealed in New Research Secrets of Maya Blue Pigment Making Revealed in New Research A mural in Bonampak, Mexico, features a background painted in Maya blue pigment. Credit: Inakiherrasti / CC BY-SA 3.0 Researchers have uncovered a second method used by the ancient Maya to create Maya blue, a bright, sky-colored pigment that has baffled scientists for nearly a century. Known for its remarkable resistance to time and weather, Maya blue was first identified by modern researchers in 1931. Used on pottery, murals, and during sacred ceremonies, the pigment has been found across Mayan sites in Mexico and Central America. Its ability to remain vibrant despite centuries spent in hot, humid conditions make it one of the most mysterious achievements of Maya chemistry. Earlier research pointed to the use of tree resin and heat In 2008, researchers led by Dean Arnold, an anthropologist and curator at the Field Museum in Chicago, found the first breakthrough. By examining pigment traces on pottery recovered from a well at Chichén Itzá, Arnold concluded that the Maya heated a mixture of plant-based indigo dye, a clay called palygorskite, and copal—a tree resin used as incense—to produce the color. New analysis of ceramic bowls suggests an alternative process But Arnold’s latest findings, presented at the annual Society for American Archaeology meeting in Denver on April 25, suggest that the Maya had more than one method. His research, detailed in the 2024 book Maya Blue (University Press of Colorado), points to a second process based on clues found in 12 ceramic bowls also excavated at Chichén Itzá. Arnold noticed white residue inside the bowls, likely left behind by wet-ground clay. Small cracks caused by grinding tools had trapped the fine particles. Microscopic analysis revealed charred bits of plant stems and signs that the bowls had been heated from below. Ancient Mayan Chemistry "Maya Blue" Maya Blue is a remarkable pigment used by the ancient Maya, known for its vibrant hue and incredible durability. It is a hybrid of organic indigo dye and the inorganic clay mineral palygorskite, which together create a stable compound… pic.twitter.com/4zI2Opipxg — Ancient Hypotheses (@AncientEpoch) May 6, 2025 Together, these details suggest the Maya used local materials, basic tools, and fire to produce the long-lasting pigment. Cultural meaning tied to the rain god Chaak “Consequently, the observations of these bowls provide evidence that the ancient Maya used this method as a second way to create Maya blue,” Arnold said during his presentation. The evidence is clear in the wear and heat patterns of these bowls. According to Arnold, Maya blue held deep cultural significance, especially in ceremonies linked to the rain god Chaak. He believes the pigment may have represented the deity himself when heated inside ceremonial bowls. “This is a genius discovery that they made, and apparently the knowledge of it was limited to specialists like priests,” Arnold said. Further study could reveal plant sources of the dye Though much has been learned, the full formula remains unsolved. Arnold plans to conduct further analysis of the burned plant remains to identify the exact species used in the dye. As new layers of this ancient practice come to light, scientists continue to admire the ingenuity of the Maya. Their legacy, reflected in a brilliant blue that has stood the test of time, continues to inspire discovery. 6. EU to set out next countermeasures against U.S. tariffs on Thursday EU to set out next countermeasures against U.S. tariffs on Thursday Maros Sefcovic, European Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security; Interinstitutional Relations and Transparency, speaks to reporters in Singapore on May 7, 2025, after signing of the EU-Singapore Digital Trade Agreement (DTA), a landmark initiative enhancing digital economic cooperation between the European Union and Singapore. Roslan Rahman | Afp | Getty Images The European Commission will announce on Thursday details of its next countermeasures against U.S. tariffs should negotiations with Washington fail, European Trade Commissioner Maros Sefcovic said on Wednesday. “Tomorrow we will announce next preparatory steps, both in the area of possible rebalancing measures, and also in the areas important for the further discussions,” Sefcovic told a news conference in Singapore after the signing of a digital trade agreement with the Southeast Asian country. He added that he will work closely with member states and industries to prepare for every scenario. “I would like to make it very clear that negotiations clearly come first, but not at any cost,” he said. The new measures would represent the EU’s response to U.S. import tariffs on cars and so-called reciprocal tariffs on most other goods. The 27-nation bloc had in April approved duties mostly of 25% on U.S. imports amounting to 21 billion euros ($23 billion), including maize, wheat, motorcycles and clothing. The duties have been paused until July, after U.S. President Donald Trump announced a 90-day suspension of reciprocal tariffs. The EU faces 25% U.S. import tariffs on its steel, aluminum and cars. It also faces reciprocal tariffs of 10% for almost all other goods, a levy that could rise to 20% after the 90-day pause expires on July 8. Sefcovic previously said U.S. tariffs now covered 70% of EU goods trade to the United States and could rise to 97% after further U.S. investigations into pharmaceuticals, semiconductors and other products. 9. Oxford Uni adds cyber resilience module to MBA programme Oxford Uni adds cyber resilience module to MBA programme The Saïd Business School at Oxford University is to introduce its first cyber resilience elective as part of its MBA programme, working with security readiness and response specialist Sygnia to develop a course that it is hoped will help narrow the security skills gap prepare future business leaders to better manage cyber matters. Set against the backdrop of fast-paced digitisation, the growth of artificial intelligence (AI), rapidly shifting geopolitical alliances and an ever more active cyber criminal ecosystem, the elective will centre the growing threat of increasingly sophisticated cyber attacks and the need for business leaders to be more closely involved in improving and safeguarding their organisation’s resilience. It builds on earlier research conducted by Oxford Saïd professor Michael Smets and doctor Manuel Hepfer, who recently conducted an in-depth study of CEOs and their approaches and attitudes to security – finding that, in general, those at the top lack security knowledge and feel uncomfortable taking security decisions, particularly during a crisis situation. “The unique blend of Oxford’s academic rigour and Sygnia’s real-world, practical experience of successfully helping leaders deal with cyber attacks, prepares our MBA students to turn cyber-resilience into a strategic advantage for their organisations,” said Smets. “Protecting their organisations, employees, customers and the wider society from cyber threats will be key to maximising value from digital transformation.” The collaboration with Sygnia – which was founded 10 years ago by Israeli cyber intelligence veterans and now boasts more than 1,000 customers all over the world – will deliver some unique features to the course, including live cyber attack simulations. In these scenarios, students will be put through their paces in a controlled environment, gaining hands-on experience of some of the complexities, uncertainties and pressures that arise during an incident response situation. “Empowering the next generation of leaders to make cyber resilience a core pillar of business strategy is essential to navigating today’s complex threat landscape,” said Sygnia global director of executive and board cyber services, Chris Crummey. “As nation-state actors and cyber criminals intensify efforts to disrupt critical infrastructure, paralyse operations and steal sensitive data, this MBA programme at Saïd Business School represents a bold and necessary step toward strengthening global cyber defense. What sets it apart is the immersive, high-pressure simulation that brings the chaos of a real cyber attack to life – challenging students to lead with intention and decisiveness when it matters most,” said Crummey. Google Cloud’s Tomer Amir, who will be joining the course as a guest speaker, added: “’This is exactly the kind of course I wish had existed when I was a student. Building cyber resilience skills early in your career is imperative given the shifting threat landscape we are seeing. Understanding cyber is key for any future leader. So, I am very excited to support this course.” Not a game Speaking this week at the CyberUK conference in Manchester, Pat McFadden, the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, said that *** organisations needed to be taking security much more seriously. Referring to ongoing incidents, including attacks on Marks and Spencer and Co-op, McFadden said: “These cyber attacks are not a game. They’re not a clever exercise. What we’ve seen over the past couple of weeks should serve as a wake-up call for everyone – for government and the public sector, for businesses and organisations up and down the country, as if we needed one, that cyber security is not a luxury – it’s an absolute necessity.” Source link #Oxford #Uni #adds #cyber #resilience #module #MBA #programme Pelican News View the full article at [Hidden Content] For verified travel tips and real support, visit: [Hidden Content]
  10. Investors Bet on Broadcom’s AI Future Amid $75B+ Hyperscaler Spend Investors Bet on Broadcom’s AI Future Amid $75B+ Hyperscaler Spend Broadcom (NASDAQ:) Inc. continues to be a central player in the AI infrastructure build-out, and recent developments across the tech landscape may strengthen its growth outlook. Despite lingering market concerns about the pace and durability of AI-related spending, recent earnings season delivered a series of encouraging signals. Several major technology firms reported strong momentum in their AI businesses, along with plans to maintain or increase capital expenditures tied to AI infrastructure. These announcements matter for Broadcom. As a supplier of high-performance networking components and custom silicon that help power large-scale AI deployments, Broadcom’s fortunes are tightly linked to the investment cycles of its largest customers. And while questions around competitive pressures and spending slowdowns have weighed on sentiment in recent months, investor response suggests a shift in tone: since the first of these earnings reports was released on April 24, Broadcom shares have climbed 7% through the May 6 close. The rebound reflects growing confidence that AI infrastructure spending remains on track—and that Broadcom remains well-positioned to benefit. AI Strength at Google & Meta Signal AI Strength for Broadcom Two companies known as hyperscale customers of Broadcom are Alphabet (NASDAQ:), Google’s parent company, and Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:). Both companies posted strong results, largely due to the AI-centric parts of their business. Alphabet’s Google Cloud segment saw strong revenue growth of 28%. AI Infrastructure and Generative AI Solutions were key drivers of this increase. The company also confirmed its CapEx spending forecast. It plans to allocate $75 billion, much of which will go to AI infrastructure through calendar 2025. The company also said that, like Q4 2024, Cloud demand exceeded capacity this quarter, another sign that CapEx spending isn’t tailing off. Meta also posted better-than-expected results. Its revenue grew at a solid 16% clip, and the price paid per ad increased by 10%. This indicates that the value of advertising on Meta’s apps continues to increase, likely driven by the AI investment the company is making. Meta also provided several examples showing that its AI investments are driving more engagement in its apps. Adding to the optimism around the AI story is the fact that the company actually increased its CapEx guidance for 2025 by 9%. The firm now expects to spend $68 billion at the midpoint. Both of these results are good signs for Broadcom. They show that these AI hyperscale customers are seeing their investment in the technology lead to tangible results. Amid concerns that AI spending could slow down due to the DeepSeek revelations, these companies are in no way signaling that this is actually the case. This is key for Broadcom, considering that big reductions in AI infrastructure spending would be very bad news for the stock. The fact that Broadcom shares sold off over 17% in just one day after the DeepSeek news broke evidences this. 13. How To Find Minecraft Bees And Get Honey How To Find Minecraft Bees And Get Honey As one of the neutral Minecraft mobs, the bee will happily buzz about its business unless you decide to attack it or its nest. The Minecraft bee’s business is, much like real-life, pollinating nearby flowers. If they’re successful in that task, they’ll return to their nest or beehive and add honey to it. How to get a beehive Usually, a bee nest will spawn with three bees inside it. When a birch or oak tree grows naturally, it will also have a chance to have a bee nest on it, depending on the biome you’re in. Those chances are: Meadow – 100% Plains – 5% Mangrove Swamp – 5% Flower Forest – 2% Forest – 0.2% They can also spawn in cherry groves, although the percentage isn’t currently known. Oak, birch, and mangrove trees grown from saplings within two blocks of a flower have a 5% chance to grow with a bee nest. These bee nests may be home to between one and three bees. You can craft a beehive using honeycomb and wooden planks, or you can harvest one with any tool. Using a tool enchanted with Silk Touch will bring the bees with it, while using a normal tool will cause the bees that live there to be freed, and they’ll be angry. A swarm of bees in the Buzzy Bees promotional trailer Bee pollination Bees leave the nest one at a time during the day and fly around its vicinity looking for flowers, petals, and blossoms, but they will ignore flowers in flowerpots. You may notice the bee circling the flower for a short time while buzzing happily. This is its pollen-collecting process. After it collects pollen, you will see spots on its body. As it flies over any plants on its route back to the nest, they will become fertilized as the bee drops pollen particles. Crops that a bee can pollinate include wheat, potato, carrot, beetroot, melon, sweet berry, pumpkin, and torchflowers. This has a similar effect to bone meal, and will grow the crop to its next stage of growth instantly. Every time a bee collects pollen, it can fertilize ten crops. Bees pollinating a flower How to harvest honey and honeycomb The first time I tried to harvest honey from a beehive I was stung, the bee died, I felt awful, and it was pretty traumatic. If you attack a bee, whether accidentally or not, all of the bees in that area will become angered and sting you. However, what I didn’t realize at the time is that unless you place a campfire under the beehive, harvesting honey or honeycomb from it will also anger the bees inside and nearby. When the bee returns to its home nest, it will make honey using the pollen, which takes around two minutes. Afterwards, the bee’s nest will visually change, and you may see honey oozing from it if enough honey has been created. The oozing effect must be observed if you want to harvest the honey. Full beehives with campfires underneath If you break a bee’s nest, it will release the bees that live inside it. However, if you harvest a bee’s nest using a tool enchanted with Silk Touch, the bees will remain inside and continue to go about their pollinating duties as soon as the nest is placed somewhere new. You can easily tell if a bee is angered, as its eyes will turn red and it will sting you. Shortly after, it will die. To harvest honey safely, you will need a campfire, a glass bottle, and some patience. You can craft a campfire with wooden logs, sticks, and coal, while you only need glass to make a glass bottle. If you’re looking for honeycomb too, you’ll need some shears. Place the campfire directly below the beehive, as the smoke makes sure the bees are calm. Then, right click the beehive with the glass bottle to collect honey, or the shears to collect honeycomb. Minecraft bees in love mode How to breed bees If you’ve collected enough honeycomb, you can craft more beehives using three honeycomb and six wooden planks. There’s one small issue though–these beehives will be empty. To populate them, you’re going to need to breed your existing bees. This is essential if you’re considering setting up a honey or honeycomb farm system at your base. Thankfully, breeding bees is easy. Find two bees and feed them both flowers, which will cause them to enter love mode. Shortly after, a baby bee will be born. There is a five-minute cooldown before the parent bees can breed again. The baby bees will seek out nearby nests with room for them to live in, and when they’re mature they’ll begin pollinating. Bees and their nests can also be taken to the Nether and the End. In the overworld, bees will return to their nest if it rains or if it is night time. Since there is no day and night cycle in the Nether or the End, they will continuously work. So, bees are certainly one of the smallest and cutest mobs in the game, but they’re also one of the most productive with some interesting mechanics and produce valuable items. We’ve got plenty more information on Mojang’s survival game in our Minecraft guides hub, as well as all you need to know on how to show your Minecraft coordinates if you’re feeling a little lost on your search for bees. That’s a significant increase compared with a historically typical month-to-month index move of 0.2%, according to the auto data and logistics firm. “The ‘spring bounce’ normally ends the second week of April, but this year, wholesale appreciation trends continued for the entire month and were much stronger than we typically observe,” said Jeremy Robb, Cox Automotive senior director of economic and industry insights. “We expected to see strong price appreciation in response to the tariffs, and that’s exactly what came.” While the tariffs of 25% on new imported vehicles and many parts do not directly impact used car sales, changes in new vehicle prices, production and demand affect the used car market, which is how the majority of Americans purchase a vehicle. Retail prices for consumers traditionally follow changes in wholesale prices, but they have not fallen as quickly as wholesale prices in recent years. Cox reports retail used-vehicle sales in April were down 1.7% compared with March but higher year over year by 13%. Over the last four weeks, the average retail listing price for a used vehicle increased by 2% to more than $25,000, Cox said.. That compares to a new vehicle at nearly $48,000. The Manheim index remains off the record highs it hit during the Covid pandemic but is still relatively high compared to historic levels before the onset of the global health crisis in 2020. Cox previously said it was seeing used vehicle prices continue to stabilize after swinging wildly for several years before starting to calm down in 2024. The company says that it will roll out an age-verification process starting May 20, and failure to do so by July 2026 could result in a player’s account being suspended, notifications paused, and their friends list deleted. The process for this will be required during login or when a new account is created. HoYoverse says it is now required by US law to verify the age of US-based players. Richard Horne, CEO of the ***’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), said intelligence reports revealed a “direct connection” between Russian cyber attacks and physical threats to the ***. His warning follows assessments from MI5 that Russia is hiring freelance agents to conduct arson and other acts of sabotage in the ***. Horne said intelligence assessments show that Russia will seek to use cyber espionage against Ukraine and its supporters, which include the ***, to gain a strategic advantage in its negotiating strategy. “The Russian Intelligence Services have focused – amongst other activity – on waging acts of sabotage, often using criminal proxies in their plots,” he said. “These threats are manifesting on the streets of the ***, against our industries and our businesses, putting lives, critical services and national security at risk,” he added. Horne, speaking at the NCSC’s CyberUK conference in Manchester, said the role of the intelligence and cyber security community is not just about protecting systems, but about protecting people from harm. In addition to Russia, the *** faces a heightened threat of cyber espionage from Iranian cyber actors, he said. *** firms are also being targeted by North Koreans who disguise themselves as freelance third-country IT workers to bring in money for the regime. Plausible deniability means our adversaries are normalising the use of cyber in pursuit of their geopolitical objectives, which may not align with our own Richard Horne, NCSC Horne said hostile nations are operating in the “grey zone” and are using non-state actors to conduct cyber attacks and cyber espionage. “Plausible deniability means our adversaries are normalising the use of cyber in pursuit of their geopolitical objectives, which may not align with our own,” he said. Horne disclosed that the NCSC had managed more than 200 cyber incidents since September 2024, including twice as many “nationally significant incidents” as in the same ******* a year ago. “Behind those numbers are people, our adversaries probing for weaknesses,” he added. Disengagement with China not an option Horne said China was the “pacing threat” in cyber security, and the country posed a risk to the *** through the state’s ability to require ******** companies to cooperate by sharing intelligence with the ******** government. “The ******** ********** Party’s strategic approach to capability, legislation and data means they have a vast ecosystem, entirely at their disposal,” he said. “And the continued activity that we’re seeing come from the ******** system remains a cause for profound and profuse concern,” he added. However, McFadden warned that the *** could not simply disengage with China, but needed to “engage with the world as it is”. “We need to view China’s approach to cyber space with open eyes. 17. Short Squeeze Potential Builds With Lemonade Short Interest at 30% Short Squeeze Potential Builds With Lemonade Short Interest at 30% Lemonade Inc (NYSE:)’s stock price action entered a reversal in 2024 and is positioned to accelerate the move in 2025. The Q1 results and guidance affirmed the outlook and included a pathway to profits. It will still take some time, but the company is on track to reach EBITDA break-even by the end of 2026. Among the critical takeaways from the report is that AI is aiding in customer acceleration, reducing costs, and improving efficiency, resulting in a double-digit improvement in margin. Assuming these trends remain in force, the company’s guidance is likely low. Nothing Sour in Lemonade’s Q1 Results and Guidance Lemonade had a robust quarter with growth accelerating to 27%, the 6th quarter of year-over-year (YOY) acceleration, and outperforming MarketBeat’s reported consensus. The top line beat the forecast by more than 400 basis points on a 21% increase in clients, a 27% increase in in-force premiums, and increased net investment income. The premium per customer grew by 4%, reflecting improved leverage and penetration, with only ADR in decline. ADR, or the percentage of revenue retained over 12 months, declined by 400 bps due to the non-renewal of policies. It is a headwind in Q1 and Q2, but will ultimately aid earnings quality over time. The company’s margin is impressive. It maintained its margin despite the impact of California wildfires, leaving the adjusted gross margin up roughly 25%. The company continues to post losses, but less than expected, with the -$0.86 in GAAP earnings nearly 1000 bps better than forecasted. Regarding the guidance, the company raised its expectations for another sequential and YOY acceleration in revenue, and the forecast may be light. The forecast may be light because Lemonade Car, the business’s car insurance segment, is gaining traction. Execs report that this segment is leading with sequential growth and nearing its inflection point. Attractions for its users include telematics and location-based premium quotes that provide value and savings. Attractions for the business are the margin and opportunities for cross-selling and upselling. The recent addition of Colorado brings coverage to 40% of the U.S., with additional territories expected for inclusion later this year. Analysts Trends Set Up Catalyst for Lemonade Market Analyst trends have influenced Lemonade’s stock price action over the past few years. Once rated a hot Buy with ample upside potential, the ratings from those still covering the stock fell to a consensus of Reduce, with a price target implying fair value near early May trading levels. The catalyst is a shift in sentiment that the Q1 release may spark. Improving user counts, expanding territories, and increasing operational quality can improve analysts’ sentiment and lead to an upgrade cycle. Institutional activity aligns with the forecast for stock price reversal. The institutions own over 80% of the financial services stock and are buying in 2025. The risk is that Softbank (OTC:), a major shareholder with roughly 10% of the shares, has been selling regularly over the past year and may continue to be a headwind for this market in 2025. Short Interest Is a Concern for Lemonade Investors in 2025 Short interest is a concern for Lemonade investors and may cap gains this year. The short interest rate is remarkably high at 30% as of mid-April, which is a significant headwind for the market. However, at 30% short, this market is also set up for a substantial short squeeze, given the appropriate catalyst. That could come with the Q2 results and guidance update, scheduled for early August. If not, this market is doomed to wallow near its current levels or lower until profitability is closer at hand. President Trump’s trade war has created chaos for companies around the world, snarling supply chains, sowing uncertainty and muddling their ability to plan for the future. After announcing tariffs that started at 20 percent for nearly all imports from European Union members — and more on other countries — the president has scaled the rate to 10 percent until July, saying his administration will use the time to negotiate bilateral deals with America’s trading partners. At the same time, Mr. Trump has escalated a trade war with China, potentially squeezing European companies. We are a team of reporters who write about business and economic issues in Europe for The New York Times. In recent weeks, we have covered how tariffs have been affecting the car industry, financial markets and economic expectations for European countries. To better understand the impact the tariffs are having on companies in Europe, including Britain, we would like to hear from business owners, entrepreneurs, managers and employees. How might the import taxes affect your company or job? Have you delayed hiring, postponed expansion plans or canceled orders? Have you altered your supply chains? We would also like to hear what tariffs mean for your production, and whether you are considering moving some part of it to the United States. We will read every response and reach out if we are interested in learning more. We won’t publish any part of your response without contacting you first and obtaining your consent. 19. Even Helldivers 2 Fans Are Saying ‘We are ready to sh*t our pants’ After Arrowhead’s Cryptic Update Even Helldivers 2 Fans Are Saying ‘We are ready to sh*t our pants’ After Arrowhead’s Cryptic Update The drought of fresh content in Helldivers 2 might soon come to an explosive end, if Arrowhead Game Studios’ recent teases are anything to go by. After weeks of what many players have dubbed “filler Major Orders,” the community’s patience is finally being rewarded with hints of something substantial on the horizon. When asked about upcoming content on Discord, Arrowhead CEO Shams Jorjani responded with a statement that sent the community into a frenzy: “you’ll sh*t your pants.” This delightfully on-brand response has sparked equal parts excitement and speculation, with players wondering what could possibly warrant such a bold claim from Super Earth’s development overlords. The community prepares their undergarments The Helldivers 2 community, never one to miss an opportunity for humor, has embraced that scatological prophecy with open arms. Players are now actively looking forward to the promised pants-soiling experience, turning what could have been a standard developer tease into a community-wide joke. One Redditor posted a comparison between elaborate developer roadmaps and Arrowhead‘s blunt communication style: The context makes it even more amusing. When a concerned player asked about upcoming content to help keep enthusiasm alive (linked here), Jorjani skipped the corporate-speak and went straight for the intestines. This direct communication style has become something of a hallmark for Arrowhead, setting them apart from other developers who might respond with vague promises or silence. Some fans have embraced the prophecy with religious fervor. One commenter solemnly declared: Comment byu/Grand_Age1279 from discussion inHelldivers Some fans have taken the opportunity to blend Helldivers’ signature over-the-top patriotism with fast food references, creating a uniquely American expression of excitement: Comment byu/Grand_Age1279 from discussion inHelldivers In fact, the camaraderie among players has reached new levels, with Helldivers offering to assist each other in their moments of scatological crisis—for a price, of course: Comment byu/Grand_Age1279 from discussion inHelldivers After all, even in matters of soiled pants, managed democracy demands proper compensation. What could possibly make Helldivers soil their armor? Standard issue: one pair of brown pants. | Image Credit: YouTube/thegameawards While Arrowhead keeps its cards close to its chest, several clues point to what might be coming. The May 8 Warbond announcement is just the beginning, with a mysterious “DJ Guard Dog’s Singularity Party” scheduled for May 13 at Widow’s Harbor raising eyebrows across the community: The timing of these events, combined with Jorjani’s pants-soiling promise, suggests something much ******* than a standard content drop. Recent leaks have fueled speculation about potential collaborations, with some players even theorizing about a Warhammer 40K crossover after dataminers discovered files referencing a “Chainsword” weapon. Arrowhead’s approach to communication isn’t without its critics, however. Some players have expressed frustration with the lack of clear communication about upcoming content. But as one commenter thoughtfully explained: Comment byu/Grand_Age1279 from discussion inHelldivers This approach creates a unique hype cycle where players are constantly on alert for surprise content drops. The May 13 event, coming just days after the Warbond reveal, fits perfectly into this pattern of surprise and delight that has defined Helldivers 2′s post-launch support. Whether it’s the full-fledged return of the Illuminate, a major collaboration, or something entirely unexpected, one thing is clear: Helldivers should prepare their undergarments for whatever freedom-spreading challenges await. 21. How To Find And Tame Minecraft Parrots How To Find And Tame Minecraft Parrots The Minecraft parrot was added to the game in the 1.12 World of Color update, bringing a bright new Minecraft mob into existence. It turns out they really love to dance, too. It might not be immediately clear how to find or tame them, so we’ve got all you need to know, as well as how to get them to dance and how to get them off your shoulder if the cawing is getting on your nerves. While parrots do have a chance of dropping feathers upon death, that’s their only use in the game at the moment. A field of Minecraft parrots How to find parrots Parrots can be found in jungle biomes in groups. They’re usually close to the ground, rather than high up in trees. You can find red, blue, gray, green, and cyan color variants, and unlike some of the other Minecraft variants this isn’t dependent on the biome they spawn in. How to tame a parrot Taming a parrot is simple. Approach it carefully, so that it doesn’t get scared and fly away, and offer it some seeds. If you have the seeds in your hand, it’s far less likely to flee and may follow you as long as they’re in your hand. You can repeatedly feed any seeds to the parrot until small red love hearts appear above its head. It’s now tamed to you, and will fly towards you and sit on your shoulder. The most important thing to remember when trying to tame a parrot is that cookies are poisonous to them, and will likely kill them. Minecraft parrots flying How to get a parrot off your shoulder While you can have a parrot on each shoulder, the noises they make can get pretty annoying. Parrots will mimic the sound of some nearby hostile mobs, such as Creepers or zombies, so it’s easy to get panicked thinking you’re about to be attacked. Parrots don’t take damage while they’re on your shoulder, which is beneficial since they only have three hearts of health. If you want to get a parrot off your shoulder you need to jump. Jumping will make the parrot fly off your shoulder, but it will still follow you. If you get in a boat or go swimming, they’ll still stay put on their new shoulder perch. If you want a parrot to stay put, when it’s on the ground or on a block you can right click it to command it to sit. Two parrots and their baby How to breed parrots When parrots were first added to the game, they did not have a baby form and could not be bred. Thanks to regular Minecraft updates though, this is now possible. Just feed two tamed adult parrots more seeds and they’ll enter love mode. Shortly after, an adorably tiny baby parrot will be born. Minecraft parrots dancing on a jukebox How to get parrots to dance Parrots love music. If you place a jukebox and add a CD to play, all of the nearby parrots will start to dance. Parrots and Allays are the only two mobs in Minecraft to dance, so you could use some of the best Minecraft build ideas to create a disco room, complete with multicolored lights and a busy dancefloor. There are plenty more tips in our Minecraft guides hub, including all you need to know about Minecraft bees and honey, and how to show your Minecraft coordinates if you’ve got lost on your way to the jungle seeking parrots. 23. Manchester United: Ruben Amorim wants to keep Bruno Fernandes amid Saudi Arabia interest Manchester United: Ruben Amorim wants to keep Bruno Fernandes amid Saudi Arabia interest United will be expected to reach a Europa League final against either Tottenham or *****/Glimt after their 3-0 semi-final first-leg win over Athletic Bilbao. On the 133 occasions a side has won an away leg in a European match by three goals or more, that team has made it through 133 times. Under normal circumstances, it would be impossible to imagine United losing their advantage against an Athletic side who have travelled to England without three of their most effective attacking players – Inaki and Nico Williams, and Oihan Sancet. However, last season they led Championship side Coventry by three goals 20 minutes from the end of their FA Cup semi-final and required the most slender of video assistant referee offside decisions to go their way to take the tie into a penalty shootout. Three weeks ago, they led 2-0 against Lyon with 20 minutes left and found themselves 4-2 down in extra time against opponents reduced to 10 men before dragging themselves out of the mire. “If you look at our season, anything is possible,” said Amorim. “We cannot say today what is going to happen. “[With] some teams, the story is going to be like ‘this’ and [they] control the narrative. We cannot do that. “Sometimes it is not which kind of team we will be tomorrow. Sometimes during the game we are one team, then something happens and we lose our mind a little bit. “I feel we need to score to go to the next round. We will have to suffer a bit to go to the final.” The uncertainty is part of the reason Amorim launched into his team following their 3-1 home defeat by Brighton in January, labelling them “maybe the worst” in the 137-year history of the club. Amorim accepts he might have gone too far with his observation – but not by much. “I think you have to see the quote in the moment and things can change but if you look to the Premier League, I think we are the worst team in terms of results,” he said. “At the end of the season, we can be the worst team in Premier League history with a European title. “We know this season was really disappointing for everybody. I still feel this season was the worst, I don’t say in history but in the last 50 years?” Source link #Manchester #United #Ruben #Amorim #Bruno #Fernandes #Saudi #Arabia #interest Pelican News View the full article at [Hidden Content] For verified travel tips and real support, visit: [Hidden Content]
  24. Reviews show AMD’s RX 9070 GRE trails the RTX 5070 in raster — ray tracing is on par, and it’s $50 cheaper Reviews show AMD’s RX 9070 GRE trails the RTX 5070 in raster — ray tracing is on par, and it’s $50 cheaper With the retail embargo lifting tomorrow, reviews of AMD’s China-exclusive RX 9070 GRE have gone live. Hardware publication EXPreview has published its review of a custom model from XFX, providing us with insight into the card’s performance and where it stands versus the competition. Positioned as an intermediary between the RX 9070 and the soon-to-launch RX 9060 XT, the RX 9070 GRE is a series of hits and misses. It trails the RTX 5070 in rasterization, and its pricing doesn’t really add to its value versus AMD’s own RX 9070. Around 10 days ago, the RX 9070 GRE unexpectedly became available for pre-order across major ******** online stores. AMD later officially confirmed the card, but it is currently region-locked, with no word on when it might hit the global market. Under the hood, it carries a cut-down Navi 48 GPU wielding 3,072 Stream Processors (48 CUs) — roughly 25% fewer than the RX 9070 XT. It offers 12GB of GDDR6 memory at slower 18 Gbps speeds, but that is likely an artificial limitation. The GPU launched at 4,199 RMB ($575). For context, the RX 9070 and RTX 5070 both debuted at 4,499 RMB ($625). Saving $50 means you’ll be missing out on exclusives, like RTX HDR, VSR, Smooth Motion, and MFG found on the RTX 5070, and the extra VRAM and compute power with the RX 9070 that can enable 4K gaming. The RX 9070 GRE does not have an MBA (Made By AMD) variant, similar to other RX 9070 GPUs. The model under review is the XFX RX 9070 GRE Snow Wolf, a pure-white card with a triple-fan cooler and dual 8-pin connectors. Internally, the card is equipped with 20 Gbps GDDR6 modules from Samsung, so you might be able to extract some performance gains by memory overclocking. Across a suite of games at 1440p, the RTX 5070 appears to be on average 5-10% faster than the RX 9070 GRE in raw rasterization performance. Based on our testing, we expected this to translate to a 15-20% performance gap versus the RX 9070, expanding to almost 30% versus the RX 9070 XT. The RX 9070 GRE easily outperforms the RTX 5060 Ti, which is expected with the price difference between the two. What’s interesting is the raytracing performance, where the RX 9070 GRE appears to — surprisingly — keep pace with the RTX 5070 in a handful of titles. Swipe to scroll horizontally Games (1440p) RX 9070 GRE (FPS) RTX 5070 (FPS) RTX 5060 Ti (FPS) RX 9070 GRE vs RTX 5070 Borderlands 3 (Raster) 135 134 100 0.74% Forza Horizon 5 (Raster) 143 157 127 -9.79% Assassin’s Creed: Shadows (Raster) 50 54 42 -8.00% Far Cry 6 (Raster) 163 166 128 -1.84% Cyberpunk 2077 (Raster) 100 110 81 -10.00% F1 24 (Raster) 187 186 144 0.53% Rainbow Six Siege (Raster) 247 301 229 -21.86% ****** Myth Wukong (Raster) 36 43 32 -19.44% Assassin’s Creed: Shadows (RT) 39 39 30 0.00% F1 24 (RT) 104 100 73 3.85% Cyberpunk 2077 (RT) 41 46 35 -12.20% Far Cry 6 (RT) 142 140 111 1.41% Much of the same story repeats at 4K, where both GPUs are held down by the 12GB framebuffer. At idle, this specific RX 9070 GRE model draws 9.3W of power, jumping to 245W under load, with a peak of 317W. Once adjusted for global prices, the RX 9070 GRE’s MSRP translates to roughly $500 (minus the 13% VAT). In a world where RDNA 4 GPUs were readily available, the RX 9070 GRE would’ve been another upsell for the RX 9070, which already acts as a stepping stone for the RX 9070 XT. That said, it’s important to remember the RX 7900 GRE also launched with a steep $700 price tag in China before its global launch at $549. In any case, RX 9070 GRE GPUs, along with pre-built systems from System Integrators, will be available for purchase tomorrow in China. Vance says Russia “asking for too much” in opening offer to end war with Ukraine Vance says Russia “asking for too much” in opening offer to end war with Ukraine Washington — Vice President JD Vance said Wednesday that the Trump administration believes Russia is “asking for too much” in its initial offer on a deal to end its war with Ukraine. During remarks at the Munich Leaders Meeting, the vice president underscored the importance of direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, and said that the U.S. is interested in a “long-term settlement” that would bring a stop to the military confrontation launched by Russian President Vladimir Putin three years ago. “Certainly the first peace offer that the Russians put on the table, our reaction to it was you’re asking for too much,” Vance said. “But this is how negotiations unfold.” He continued: “I wouldn’t say that the Russians are uninterested in bringing this thing to a resolution. What I would say is right now, the Russians are asking for a certain set of requirements, a certain set of concessions in order to end the conflict. We think they’re asking for too much.” The U.S. and Ukraine said in March that Kyiv was ready to accept a 30-day ceasefire with Russia, an agreement that was reached after a delegation of Trump administration officials held several hours of negotiations with Ukrainian officials in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. But Vance said that the Russians decided that such a pause was “not in our strategic interest.” “We’ve tried to move beyond the obsession with the 30-day ceasefire and more on the what would the long-term settlement look like? And we’ve tried to consistently advance the ball,” the vice president said. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said last month in an interview with “Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan” that the Kremlin is “ready to reach a deal” with the U.S. on the war in Ukraine and said there are “several signs that we are moving in the right direction.” While Mr. Trump claimed that he would broker an end to Russia’s war with Ukraine, Russia’s military has continued to launch strikes. The president has repeatedly criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, including calling him a “dictator without elections.” Last month, Mr. Trump attacked Zelenskyy after he said Ukraine would not recognize Russia’s occupation of Crimea, which was annexed by Russia in 2014, claiming the statement “will do nothing but prolong the ‘killing field.'” However, later last month, Mr. Trump posted on social media that he was not “not happy” with Russian strikes on Kyiv, imploring Putin to halt the attacks. “Vladimir, STOP! 5000 soldiers a week are dying,” Mr. Trump wrote. “Lets get the Peace Deal DONE!” Melissa Quinn Melissa Quinn is a politics reporter for CBSNews.com.
