  1. Trump heralds ‘breakthrough’ US trade deal with *** Trump heralds ‘breakthrough’ US trade deal with *** US President Donald Trump and *** Prime Minister Keir Starmer have announced a “breakthrough deal” on trade that leaves in place a 10 per cent tariff on goods imported from the United Kingdom while the *** agreed to lower its tariffs to 1.8 per cent from 5.1 per cent and provide greater access to US goods. The agreement announced by Trump from the Oval Office marked the first since Trump triggered a global trade war with a barrage of levies on trading partners following his return to the White House in January. “It opens up a tremendous market for us,” Trump said. “This is a really fantastic, historic day,” Starmer said by teleconference. The United States has been under pressure from investors to strike deals to de-escalate its tariff war after Trump’s often chaotic policymaking up-ended global trade with friends and foe alike, threatening to stoke inflation and start a recession. Top US officials have engaged in a flurry of meetings with trading partners since the president on April 2 imposed a 10 per cent tariff on most countries, along with higher rates for many trading partners that were then suspended for 90 days. The US has also imposed 25 per cent tariffs on autos, steel and aluminium, 25 per cent tariffs on Canada and Mexico, and 145 per cent tariffs on China. US and ******** officials are due to hold talks in Switzerland on Saturday. With the *** economy struggling to grow, the tariffs had added to the pressure on his government. Jaguar Land Rover paused its shipments to the US for a month and the government was forced to seize control of British Steel to keep it operating. While seeking a deal with the US, the *** had refused to lower its food standards, which are closely aligned with the European Union. However, the ***’s farming trade union has said that some US producers who do not use growth hormones or antimicrobial washes could be given greater market access. The status of the 10 per cent “baseline” tariff was unclear, as was a threatened tariff on the pharmaceutical industry which could damage AstraZeneca and GSK. Initial news of an announcement sent shares in luxury car maker Aston Martin up 10 per cent while *** retailers with operations in the US including JD Sports and Primark owner AB Foods also rose. Starmer’s government has been seeking to build new trading relationships post-Brexit with the US, China and the European Union without moving so far towards one bloc that it angers the others. Economists and one FTSE 100 chief executive said the immediate economic effect of a tariff deal was likely to be limited but that trade agreements in general would help long-term growth. The *** struck a free trade agreement with India this week. 2. We’re Doing the “Biggest playtesting in franchise history” Because Even We Know We Don’t Always “Get it right” We’re Doing the “Biggest playtesting in franchise history” Because Even We Know We Don’t Always “Get it right” Electronic Arts is doubling down on transparency and community involvement for Battlefield 6. We all know the franchise hasn’t lived up to expectations in recent years, and EA knows that too. This new effort seems to be to regain trust and excitement around Battlefield, and it might just work. CEO Andrew Wilson confirmed during EA’s latest earnings call that Battlefield 6 is undergoing the most expansive playtesting phase in the series’ history. So EA is recognizing its mistakes and trying to do better. Is this what we’ve waited for? Will this be the start of a comeback for Battlefield? EA and DICE are putting everything into getting Battlefield 6 right CEO Andrew Wilson revealed in EA’s Q4 FY25 earnings call some details regarding the Battlefield franchise and Battlefield 6, the upcoming title. He didn’t shy away from talking about the troubled past of the series, particularly with titles like Battlefield 5 and Battlefield 2042. From historical inaccuracy to a launch full of bugs and issues, the franchise has lost a lot of fans over the last two main games. We’ve always worked closely with the community, but we haven’t always worked as closely as we should have. We haven’t always really worked to help them understand the things that we’re building and for us to understand the things that they really want out of a battlefield. We know that when we get it right, Battlefield is a giant franchise and often the biggest shooter in the year. To change this, EA is leaning into its new Battlefield Labs program. Wilson described it as “the biggest playtesting initiative in franchise history,” and the numbers back that up. Over 600,000 players across North America and Europe have already signed up, with thousands of hours of playtime already being reported. The game’s development is being led by DICE, with support from three other studios: Criterion, Motive, and Ripple Effect. You might know Criterion from Need for Speed and Burnout. The studio has paused its development for racing games to focus on Battlefield 6. EA confirms the next Battlefield will launch before March 2026, full reveal this summer#Battlefield | #Battlefield6 | #BF pic.twitter.com/WeU62MlGl3 — BattlehubYT (@Battlefieldleak) May 6, 2025 In its mission to compete with Call of Duty again, there’s also a rumor that the developers are making a free-to-play battle royale mode like Warzone. EA hasn’t confirmed this officially, but it would make sense since the two franchises have gone hand in hand for the longest time. We even have a solid release window thanks to the GTA 6 delay We should see more details this year. | Image Credit: DICE As for when we can expect the launch of Battlefield 6, we also have some progress on that. With Rockstar Games confirming that Grand Theft Auto 6 will launch on May 26, 2026, EA now has a clearer window to release Battlefield 6 without fighting for sales with the most anticipated game in history. Wilson admitted during the call that GTA’s delay made him more optimistic about Battlefield’s release and potential. “I think now, without going too far, we believe that window is clearer than it was before.” While no specific date has been announced, EA has confirmed that Battlefield 6 will release by the end of fiscal year 2026, which ends in March 2026. Don’t forget, we also have big gaming events this year where we can expect a reveal. There is so much news to look forward to at events like Summer Game Fest, Gamescom, The Game Awards, and more. The stakes are high for this one. Do you think Battlefield 6 can redeem the franchise, or is it too late? One U.S. official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said there was high confidence that Pakistan had used the ********-made J-10 aircraft to launch air-to-air missiles against Indian fighter jets – bringing down at least two. Another official said at least one Indian jet that was shot down was a French-made Rafale fighter aircraft. Delhi has not acknowledged the loss of any of its planes and instead said it carried out successful strikes against what it said was “terrorist” infrastructure inside Pakistan. In France, Rafale manufacturer Dassault Aviation and the MBDA consortium, which makes the Meteor air-to-air missile, could not immediately be reached for comment on a public holiday. An upgrade over its predecessor in every way, there’s so much to discover in the corners of this universe. Trump’s comment came as he discussed a new trade agreement with the United Kingdom. During that Oval Office event, Trump’s Truth Social account said that U.S. tariffs on imports from the *** will remain at the baseline 10% rate that he imposed on most countries in the world in early April. 10. Nutanix opens up to all external storage Nutanix opens up to all external storage At its .Next event in Washington DC this week, Nutanix announced its nodes would be able to use Pure Storage FlashArray arrays as external storage, with general availability later this year. That follows a move last year in which it did something similar, but with Dell PowerFlex software-defined scale-out storage. We caught up with Nutanix CEO Rajiv Ramaswami (pictured above) to talk about that announcement and the implications for Nutanix. To allow external storage, with Nutanix acting as mere compute – or not quite, as Ramaswami says here – breaks the bounds of the hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) that Nutanix helped pioneer. HCI saw compute and storage bundled together in nodes that could connect in grid-like fashion to form clusters, often with server and storage components scalable independently. This was a particularly attractive proposition to customers that lacked deep skillsets as they were relatively easily deployable and scalable. So the idea that Nutanix should allow the use of external storage from third parties somewhat goes against the original principle it pioneered. But it also opens up a market for Nutanix, which can offer hypervisor capabilities to customers currently seeking to escape VMware following changes that have resulted from its acquisition by Broadcom. Here, Ramaswami talks to Computer Weekly storage editor Antony Adshead about the implications for the concept of hyper-convergence, plans to extend connectivity to any external storage, and questions of Nutanix’s scalability. I’m particularly interested in the linkup with Pure Storage and Dell. So, what I gather is that in those situations where you use those as external storage, Nutanix becomes compute-only. So why, in that case, would people buy Nutanix at all when they could buy any compute? First of all, I will just say it’s a little bit more than just compute-only. It’s compute plus networking, micro-segmentation and operations capability. So, the rest of the stack minus storage. We didn’t do this in the past because most people have stayed on the VMware hypervisor, but now there is a lot of interest from customers that want an alternative to VMware. And if you think about what’s available out there, I think AHV [Nutanix’s Acropolis hypervisor] has emerged as one of the best options, and is why the storage providers are now interested in working with us. And that’s why you heard from early access customers for the Dell option with PowerFlex. You saw Moody’s on stage yesterday. They’re interested in it, and they’ve been an early access customer. So, the landscape has changed around us. What’s stopping you just opening Nutanix up to any external storage? In other words, what are the engineering hurdles? When we did the Dell PowerFlex integration, that was more of a one-of-a-kind, because Dell PowerFlex is a unique scale-out array. As we start doing Pure, there’s an opportunity to build a more standardised approach towards integrating third-party storage. I’d love for us to get to a point where we can just have a self-certification programme, through which we can onboard new storage platforms. We’re not quite there yet. What, specifically, is the engineering involved? We definitely looked at VMware. They had vVols as one of the ways of doing this. We don’t have an equivalent. We never focused on this in the past with our hypervisor, because it wasn’t a part of our platform. We weren’t doing third-party storage support. So now, as we started doing it, Dell PowerFlex was kind of a unique thing, because that’s a unique array. That’s different from the rest. It’s scale out, not scale up, and it’s IP only. With the others, we want to take a more standardised approach, with Pure and then beyond Pure. The link-up with Pure allows for quite an expansion in terms of scale, in terms of storage nodes, etc, so is this move in some ways an admission that Nutanix has been limited in terms of its ability to scale? I don’t think this is an issue of scaling at all, because even yesterday we had Micron talk about how it has built fairly massive scale. So, this is not about scaling, in as much as, if you look at the total market out there, we have been trying to eat into the external storage market for many years. And HCI across VMware and us – the two big players – has taken over maybe 20% of the market after all these years. The pace of migration in these things is slow. So, there’s still 80% of the market out there on three-tier, not necessarily because HCI can’t scale, but because there’s a lot of inertia in the system. People just don’t move. So, to me, the reason for doing this was more that other 80%, some of which we will continue to convert to HCI. For the rest, I think we can get in there with the compute-only platform, and then at some point, once we are in there, maybe someday they’ll start converting portions of it to HCI. The support lineup is so boring right now — DylanDubs (@DylanDubs_) April 13, 2025 Still, fans are excited for his arrival in Marvel Rivals, as he is one of the most loved antagonists. WHAT THE CHIN! pic.twitter.com/7bZfewyOqs — Sechs (@Uebok_Rebuke) February 22, 2025 As for Blade, fans don’t have any problems with his powers or his place in the meta. They are dependable, unlike your teammates. | Image Credit: NetEase Games Just like other leaks for various live-service games, Marvel Rivals leakers are just as dependable. More or less, their predictions end up being true, just like for Ultron. However, there are times when things don’t go as expected. It takes a lot of data to confirm the addition of a hero in Marvel Rivals. Dataminers like @X0X_Leak and @Visceral on X have mostly been correct about their findings. Thanks to them, this article was written. But, developers can mess up with leakers by putting in false data. What could this mean for future updates Developers have already promised that players will receive new heroes every month starting from Season 3. If that is true, that would mean twelve characters being released every year. It might be possible that players will see every non-confirmed character in the future. The Marvel Comic Universe has a lot of characters, so NetEase won’t run out of material soon. However, it does raise a different concern. Having so many characters may confuse players about the meta and balancing. So it’s up to NetEase to handle that matter. 15. US cuts aid to Zambia over ‘systematic’ theft of medicine US cuts aid to Zambia over ‘systematic’ theft of medicine The US has announced that it is cutting $50m (£37m) in aid to Zambia’s health sector, due to the country’s failure to address the “systematic theft” of donated drugs and medical supplies. This “difficult” decision was taken after repeated warnings to the Zambian government to safeguard vital drugs meant for the country’s most vulnerable patients, said US ambassador to Zambia Michael Gonzales. “We are no longer willing to underwrite the personal enrichment of fraudsters or the corrupt when patients go without or have to buy life-saving medications that we have provided for free,” he added. The Zambian government is yet to comment. The cuts are separate to the sweeping foreign aid freeze announced by President Donald Trump in January. The Zambian health sector is heavily funded by foreign donors, but there have been previous reports of widespread misappropriation and corruption involving senior health officials. The US accounts for about a third of public health spending in Zambia according to a statement from the US embassy in the country. But US officials said they had discovered the “country-wide theft” of medical products that were intended to be distributed for free to the public but were now being sold by private pharmacies. More than 2,000 pharmacies across Zambia were found selling donated drugs and medical supplies in a year-long investigation conducted by the US embassy. “Shockingly, across these visits, 95 percent of the pharmacies that were selling the kinds of products that the United States provides, were also selling stolen goods,” the statement said. Nearly half of the pharmacies visited were found selling medication and supplies donated by the US government, it said. Other pharmacies were also found selling stolen medical stocks purchased by the Zambian government, the Global Fund, and Zambia’s other donor partners, it added. The US embassy said it had presented its findings and offered experts for action to stop further theft and to bring the culprits to justice in April last year but no action was taken. “I regret that to date, the government’s actions have fallen drastically short of demonstrating a commitment to safeguarding US assistance and the lives we aim to save,” the embassy said. Zambia’s law enforcement operations have focused on “low-level actors” and have led to the arrest of “only a few mid-level officials” instead of investigating supply sources and pursuing the masterminds behind the theft of medicines, according to the US embassy. Gonzales said the US “can no longer justify to the American taxpayer continuing to provide such massive levels of assistance.” He said the cuts would affect drugs to treat malaria, **** and TB. “This is not a decision we have taken lightly,” Gonzales said, shedding tears as he explained how the measure would affect Zambian patients. The aid cuts will take effect January next year to give the Zambian government time to develop alternative arrangements but he said “the decision had been made”. Since the Trump administration took office, it has cut billions of dollars in global health programmes, hitting African countries including Zambia, where **** remains a major threat especially for adolescents and young adults. Trump announced the aid freeze on his first day in office in January in line with his “America First” foreign policy. The aid cuts have affected health programmes across Africa, including shipments of critical medical supplies, including **** drugs. The majority of the US Agency for International Development’s (USAID) programmes, which provided health and humanitarian assistance to vulnerable nations, have since been terminated. In March, Zambia’s President Hakainde Hichilema said Trump had “slapped us on both cheeks”, saying it was time for his country to strengthen its treasury to procure its own medicines. 17. Woman accused of ******** abortion cleared by jury Woman accused of ******** abortion cleared by jury A woman accused of having an ******** abortion has been cleared by a jury. Nicola Packer, 45, cried as she was acquitted of “unlawfully administering to herself a poison or other noxious thing” with the “intent to procure a miscarriage”. Isleworth Crown Court heard she took abortion medicine at home during the coronavirus lockdown, in November 2020, when she was about 26 weeks pregnant. Ms Packer then delivered the foetus and took it to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in a backpack. The legal limit for taking medication at home to terminate a pregnancy is 10 weeks, while the outer limit for any abortion in England, Scotland and Wales is 24 weeks, apart from in certain circumstances. Ms Packer, who was 41 at the time, took the medications mifepristone and misoprostol, which were prescribed over the phone due to Covid restrictions. Prosecutors alleged that Ms Packer knew she had been pregnant for more than 10 weeks, which she denied. Giving evidence during her trial, Ms Packer spoke of her “shock” and “surprise” at being pregnant. She told the jury: “If I had known I was that far along I wouldn’t have done it.” She added: “I wouldn’t have put the baby or myself through it.” Jurors heard Ms Packer spent the night of 7 November in hospital and was arrested by police the next day. Ms Packer was supported by friends in the public gallery, who hugged one another as the verdict was delivered. Jurors deliberated for more than six hours to reach the unanimous verdict. The film follows a group of scientists who are called in to examine a government satellite that crashlands just outside a small town in New Mexico, mysteriously killing almost every citizen within minutes. The scientists discover the satellite carried a lethal extraterrestrial virus, dubbed “The Andromeda Strain,” and now must find a way to contain and destroy it before it can spread. The film and novel versions are credited with establishing the “techno-thriller” subgenre of science fiction. If you’re interested in reading Crichton’s original novel, you can grab a paperback edition for $12.49 at Amazon (was $17). A sequel written by Daniel H. Wilson, The Andromeda Evolution, was released in 2020. It was met with positive reviews by critics and readers and is considered a faithful and worthy follow-up. The Andromeda Strain was also adapted into a two-episode mini-series in 2008, produced by Ridley Scott. Unlike the 1971 film, the mini-series is a much ******* adaptation of the novel. It wasn’t as well received as the film, but those who are curious to see this version can grab it on DVD at Amazon or stream it via Prime Video. The company behind this new Andromeda Strain 4K Limited Edition release, Arrow Video, is also releasing several other noteworthy 4K Blu-rays, including Quinten Tarantino’s Inglorious Basterds and special editions of Friday The 13th sequels Jason X and Jason Goes to Hell. 19. ‘Beautiful’ Stories Emerge from ‘Baptize California’ as Organizers Move Now to ‘Baptize America’ ‘Beautiful’ Stories Emerge from ‘Baptize California’ as Organizers Move Now to ‘Baptize America’ Thousands of people across the country have been getting baptized in what some are calling revival. The latest example comes out of Baptize California where the high numbers are due to hundreds of churches coming together in unity. Now this growing movement is planning a nationwide push next month. Over the weekend, on the shores of Huntington Beach, a modern-day revival moment was seen in perhaps the largest single-day water baptism in American history. More than 7,700 people took the plunge here, publicly declaring their faith in Jesus. “Yeah, I just got baptized, I feel great – I feel wonderful,” said newly baptized Ramel. “I was stuck in the dark, you know, just doing all these things to try to fill some type of something in my heart, and it led me to more darkness and hurt… and I’m just so happy I got baptized.” ***Please sign up for CBN newsletters and download the CBN news app to ensure you receive the latest news.*** Organizer Mark Francey said, “There was a guy getting baptized with a house arrest, you know – ankle bracelet on his leg. And um, I just um. I saw homeless people get baptized. I saw people in wheelchairs that they push to the sand, to the water, and carried them in there – baptized and brought them back.” “Old, young, all different ethnicities, all different political persuasions, it was a beautiful thing to see what Jesus did at the beach the other day,” he continued. Pastors Mark and Rachel Francey mobilized more than 500 churches and nearly 30,000 people for a day of worship, baptism, and transformation. Last year, they baptized over 4,000 at this spot — and now, the movement is going national. “The main reason we did this event in California a month early is so that all of the momentum from people getting excited about what God’s doing in California would actually transfer into local churches, that they could host it, in their local churches all over America,” Mark Francey said. Baptize California is now becoming Baptize America, urging churches to come together Sunday, June 8th for what could become the largest coordinated water baptism in U.S. History. It comes as we’re also seeing a movement of baptisms taking shape on college campuses — sparked by the growing initiative, UniteUS. Organizers see what’s happening on campus as just the beginning. UniteUS founder Tonya Prewett said, “I believe that America is set for the greatest revival our country has ever seen. I believe starting with college students, and the hunger and the fire – we’re seeing among college students is just taking off – it’s a movement.” What started in Auburn, Alabama just two years ago, on the heels of the Asbury revival, has exploded into a movement, leading to gospel events on at least 11 college campuses this year alone. Cale Matlock of the University of Arkansas said, “It was awesome, just having over 10,000 people that all love Jesus and are worshiping God.” From the shores of California to the heart of college campuses, one thing is clear: revival isn’t coming — it’s already here. 20. Is Silent Hill 2 Remake DRM Free? Latest Update Spills the Beans Is Silent Hill 2 Remake DRM Free? Latest Update Spills the Beans Silent Hill 2 Remake is now available on GOG DRM-free, additionally with a huge 30 percent discount! Having Digital Rights Management, like Denuvo, has been the norm in the gaming industry for a long time. Moreover, it has stopped ****** flag holders from getting their hands on things that they don’t deserve. Konami fans have been at war, as they are divided over whether Silent Hill 2 Remake deserves to have DRM or not. This is a controversial matter, as Denuvo does hamper performance considerably, and the game is not the best-optimized title out there, even without it. Which is why many have been against the proposal. Silent Hill 2 Remake gets released on GOG DRM-free The game really looks flawless. | Image Credit: Konami Some may say Silent Hill 2 was released on Steam without a DRM, so what’s new about it? Actually no, it did have a Steam DRM wrapper, which is not so advanced as Denuvo, but still is something. So technically, the game did have one, which many didn’t know of. Interesting right? Silent Hill 2 Remake won’t run on one’s PC if they are not connected to the internet to verify the copy. Surprisingly, gamers didn’t have any problem with that. Rather specifically, gamers have time and time again voiced their views against Denuvo DRM, despite it being a more secure option for publishers. A sublime remake of one of the most legendary games ever made… SILENT HILL 2 is now available DRM-free on GOG! bit.ly/SH2_GOG It’s time to make it yours forever [image or embed] — GOG.COM (@gog.com) 8 May 2025 at 12:35 Now that the doubt has been cleared, let’s talk about the SH2R copy available on GOG. According to them, they have released the horror title on their platform without any DRM. If players buy on their platform, they’ll get the full game and run without additional checks. What does that mean? Unlike Steam, which requires an online check to verify the copy, GOG won’t do that. Just double-click on the game, and you’re good to go. Just like old times, yeah? All in all, the copy available on GOG is just another DRM-free alternative that gamers can opt-in for. It is likely that the anti-DRM folks were included too. But now that a DRM-free version has been released, it’s likely it will see more purchases via GOG. So maybe it was a good move for Konami to make it available on the platform. Fans wished for the availability of the original Silent Hill 2 instead of remake Even though Konami has made one of the finest remakes of their original title. Fans are still stuck with the nostalgia of the classic gameplay, instead of a modern makeover. oh i got excited thinking it was the original — Bdazzle (@bdazzle129.bsky.social) 8 May 2025 at 12:38 Bought it instantly, thank you so much for making it happen! — Adam Nine (@adamnine.bsky.social) 8 May 2025 at 13:40 The original Silent Hill games are now considered abandonware, as there’s no way to access them. Fans initially got excited that Silent Hill 2 was available on GOG, thinking it was the original. Of course, everyone would want to keep classics in their collections. That’s the collector’s way, right? Alternatively, some fans purchased it immediately despite it being the remake. Who’d want to miss out on a *****, right? Moreover, the GOG copy doesn’t have any DRM, so players will be keeping it forever. Even play the game even if it turns into abandonware. What’s your opinion, would you play a game without any DRM like Silent Hill 2? If you hate Denuvo DRM, what’s your reason for doing so? Let us know in the comments below. 21. Starmer faces growing rebellion over ******** cuts Starmer faces growing rebellion over ******** cuts Joshua Nevett Political reporter House of Commons Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer is facing a growing rebellion by Labour MPs over planned ******** cuts some have warned are “impossible to support” without a “change of direction”. In a letter to The Guardian, 42 MPs said proposed ******** savings worth £5bn a year by 2030 had “caused a huge amount of anxiety and concern among disabled people and their families”. The MPs urged ministers to delay any decisions until assessments of the potential impact of the cuts on employment and health had been published. The government has been approached for comment. The letter comes before MPs are expected to vote on a new law that would bring the benefits cuts into effect next month. On Wednesday, nine Labour MPs spoke during a debate to say they would vote against the changes to a key disability benefit called personal independence payment (Pip) and universal credit (UC). In Labour’s ranks of MPs there has been growing disquiet over the ******** reforms since the party suffered heavy losses in last week’s local elections. In the letter, the 42 MPs said the planned cuts “represent the biggest attack on the ******** state since George Osborne ushered in the years of austerity and over three million of our poorest and most disadvantaged will be affected”. It continued: “Whilst the government may have correctly diagnosed the problem of a broken benefits system and a lack of job opportunities for those who are able to work, they have come up with the wrong medicine. Cuts don’t create jobs, they just cause more hardship.” The letter said the benefits system does need reform to tackle “the barriers that disabled people face when trying to find and maintain employment”. “Without a change in direction, the green paper will be impossible to support,” it added. Letters to PM In March, the government released a green paper to spell out the details of its proposed shake-up of the benefits system. Overall, the government spends £65bn a year on health and disability-related benefits. Before the government announced the Pip and UC changes, this was projected to increase to £100bn by 2029. The government estimated that 3.2 million families could be worse off as a result of the reforms, while 3.8 million families will be better off by 2030. MPs will get a chance to vote on the plans because the government needs to pass primary legislation to make the changes to ******** payments. The legislation is due to be published this month before making its way through Parliament in June. The BBC understands some of the signatories are also writing to the prime minister to press for a delay in the vote until the full impact assessment on health and employment is published. Alongside the ******** cuts, the government has put forward proposals to encourage more people receiving benefits to find work. The Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) was unable to say how effective those employment measures would be when it published its assessment of the green paper, citing a lack of detail from the government. Instead, the OBR plans to include an assessment of this element of the ******** changes in its autumn forecast. On Wednesday, Disability Minister Sir Stephen Timms defended the proposals, saying it was not sustainable for ******** spending to rise at the current rate. “The current system produces poor employment outcomes, high economic inactivity, low living standards, high costs to the taxpayer. It needs to change,” he said. “We want a more proactive, pro-work system that supports people better and supports the economy as well.” Source link #Starmer #faces #growing #rebellion #******** #cuts Pelican News View the full article at [Hidden Content]

Barone followed up that statement talking about how money is not the driving force behind creating Stardew Valley (or, by extension, Haunted Chocolatier), which is why the game’s updates have all been free. It’s far from an announcement of a Stardew Valley sequel and Barone did make mention of continuing work on Haunted Chocolatier saying that he has not yet completed the music for the game yet, but it’s nice to know that a new Stardew Valley isn’t outside of the realm of possibility in the future.
