********* ******* Society study suggests certain types of ******* on the rise for post-Baby Boomer generations

A new study suggests certain ******* types are continuing to rise in younger generations.

The US study — led by researchers at the ********* ******* Society — found that incidence rates of 17 types of cancers, including *******, pancreatic, and gastric, continue to rise in post-baby boomer generations.

In the analysis, researchers obtained data from more than 23 million patients diagnosed with 34 types of ******* and mortality data from about 7 million deaths from 25 types of ******* for individuals aged 25-84 years old.

Researchers found that incidence rates increased with each successive birth cohort born since 1920 for eight of 34 cancers.

In particular, the incidence rate was about two-to-three times higher in the 1990 birth cohort than in the 1955 birth cohort for pancreatic, kidney, and small intestinal cancers in both male and female individuals.

Lead author of the study and senior principal scientist at the ********* ******* Society Dr Hyuna Sung said it was still unclear why certain ******* rates were on the rise in younger generations.

“These findings add to growing evidence of increased ******* risk in post-Baby Boomer generations, expanding on previous findings of early-onset colorectal ******* and a few obesity-associated cancers to encompass a broader range of ******* types,” Dr. Hyuna Sung said.

“Birth cohorts, groups of people classified by their birth year, share unique social, economic, political, and climate environments, which affect their exposure to ******* risk factors during their crucial developmental years.

“Although we have identified ******* trends associated with birth years, we don’t yet have a clear explanation for why these rates are rising.”
