Woman and young son living in car for more than two years as wait for public housing extends to three years

A woman who has lived in her car with her young son for more than two years is just one of hundreds of people suffering because of the more than three-year average wait time for public housing in Kalgoorlie-Boulder.

In response to questions from the Kalgoorlie Miner, a Department of Communities spokesperson revealed the average wait time for public housing in the Kalgoorlie zone was 174 weeks — equivalent to about three years and four months.
