Small Kalgoorlie-Boulder business named finalist for national women’s business award

A small Kalgoorlie-Boulder business will represent the community as a finalist for a national women’s business award.

The People and Culture Office has been named a finalist in the champion business services category of this year’s *********** Women’s Small Business Champion Awards.

Being named a finalist for the third year in a row, director Simone Pickering said it warmed her heart to be recognised for the work the business had been doing to combat the skills shortage through employee engagement and experience strategies.

“We adapted our business model in early 2023 to educate and support business leaders in achieving the positive business outcomes a considered focus in this area can achieve,” she said.

The awards shine a spotlight on Australia’s “most influential and outstanding women in business”, with the celebration in Sydney on August 24.

Steve Loe, managing director of Precedent Productions which created the awards, said the program celebrated the contribution businesswomen made to the *********** way of life.

“What we have sought to highlight are the many incredible women entrepreneurs, business owners, managers and industry leaders who are the best in their chosen field,” he said.

“The benchmark continues to be lifted and I am excited to see so many new female business owners becoming involved with the program.

“When the champion judges evaluate the entries, they are looking at all aspects of a wining business; business strategies, customer service, vision, support of the local community and growth, just to name a few.”
