Helldivers 2 Fans are Finally Ditching the Quasar Canon for “The Most Underrated” Stratagem Against Automatons

When we’re in a war, everyone must do their part. In Helldivers 2, that means fighting hard and doing everything you can to spread democracy and freedom across the galaxy. Aside from the valuable gear and weapons, every soldier needs the best stratagems to take down the enemies of Super Earth.

Every Helldiver knows that the correct Strategem can stack the odds in their favor and save lives and time, in times of need. While stratagems such as Quasar Cannon and Shield Generator are quite powerful, the Helldivers 2 community seems to have found another “underrated” stratagem to steamroll enemies.

Since its initial release, Helldivers 2 has seen plenty of stratagems that have been meta-defining and helpful in taking out the enemies of our government. However, the Quasar Cannon is one of the most used ones against Automatons. While it’s a great choice to deal with this particular ******, many in the community believe that Rocket Pods are even better.

, user DotaThe2nd said that Rocket Pods are among the most “underrated” stratagems against Automatons. He says that Rocket Pods effectively remove cannons, fabricators, and objectives in one use. When this stratagem is paired with Gunships, it’s pretty lethal.

Rocket Pods are less powerful when used against Terminids, as those units are quite fast. However, Automatons are much slower, which makes them the right target. If you’re limited to three stats on a mission, bringing Rocket Pods, the Orbital Laser, and an Autocannon can help you decimate anything that dares to stand in your way.

Many users in the post agreed with Rocket Pods’ effectiveness in the game and called for more people to give it a shot.

While Rocket Pods have disadvantages compared to Air Strikes, they’re still incredibly effective for tanks, cannon towers, striders, and emergency heavy ******. Pairing Rocket Pods with other stratagems is thus quite an effective strategy.

The best stratagems you can use in Helldivers 2 | Steam

If you’re playing Helldivers 2 on more challenging difficulty levels, you can’t just rely on Rocket Pods! You’ll need various stratagems to keep yourself alive and eliminate your opponents. After all, even using the top Helldiver weapons won’t be enough for a Bile Titan. 

The best stratagems in Helldivers 2 are the Orbital Laser, LAS-99 Quasar Cannon, Eagle Airstrike, Shield Generator Pack, and the A/G Gatling Sentry. Aside from the Shield Generator, these stratagems can do lethal damage to your enemies and are best utilized when you’re going against bosses. We will likely see more powerful meta-defining stratagems added to the game with the upcoming updates.
