[STEAM] NC promotes Aion 2 during Gamescom Opening Night Live ahead of Western early access launch

NC hopes to leverage its featured spot in Gamescom’s Opening Night Live presentation today, Aug. 25, to build momentum for Aion 2 ahead of the title’s Western early access launch.

Founder’s Pack sign-ups for Aion 2 are already open, granting Western players early access to NC’s upcoming MMORPG from Sept. 30 onward. NC, the publisher formerly known as Ncsoft, said in a press release that it plans to use its Gamescom 2026 Opening Night Live spot to connect with players worldwide and build excitement ahead of the title’s global launch.

Aion 2 is a free-to-play MMORPG built for PC through Steam and NC’s Purple launcher. The game’s Founder’s Packs, priced at three tiers, went on ***** in July and include early access, in-game items, and a 30-day membership. , have reported that the free-to-play global launch is expected to follow on Oct. 5, though NC itself has not formally named that date, with the company’s own materials still listing only a broader September window.

The Korean version of Aion 2 launched in Korea and Taiwan in November 2025, and the game has been a significant driver of NC’s recent financial performance. The company’s PC game revenue climbed 210% year-over-year in the first quarter of 2026, reaching roughly $223 million, following Aion 2’s Asian release.

For the global rollout of Aion 2, NC has identified North America, South America, Europe, and Japan as regions for live service, though the company has not announced final server lists or regional launch times. The game will feature hybrid action-flight combat and eight launch classes, along with reworked dungeons and PvP systems for the global release.

NC held a community livestream Aug. 7 covering additional changes to the Founder’s Pack offerings, including retroactively adding 30 days of membership across all three tiers, expanding dungeon party sizes and the first raid tier, and normalizing stats for 10-vs-10 battlegrounds. The company also confirmed five servers without regional locks and a reduction in the per-player **** cap.

Gamescom Opening Night Live aired today, Aug. 25, ahead of the main show floor, which runs in Cologne, Germany, from Aug. 26 through Aug. 30. NC’s Western publishing arm, NC America, is based in Irvine, California, and oversees live production and publishing for the company’s titles across North America, South America, Europe and Oceania. NC Corporation, headquartered in Pangyo, South Korea, was founded in 1997 and also publishes the Lineage, Blade & Soul and Guild Wars franchises. A fourth NC title, Guild Wars 3, is in development at the company’s North American studio, ArenaNet, but will be shown separately in Gamescom’s business-to-business area rather than during Opening Night Live.
