yesterday, pushing the game up to v1.0.7. It's more of a "patch," really, all things considered, but it does begin to tackle many of the problems fans cite with the action RPG over on

(where it still sits with "Mixed" reviews) and elsewhere online.

First up is the camera, which Game Freak notes faces "various adjustments… both in and out of combat."

Text size is also seeing some "adjustments," but the biggest tweak arguably comes to story pacing – the very thing Game Freak said it would improve last week.

"Story pacing has been slightly adjusted by ensuring that some of the affinity-building conversations that could occur multiple times in a row are now limited to once per day," read the developer's patch notes. "Additional updates are being planned to further improve cutscene experience," too.

There's a plethora of other changes as well, with the default cinematic cutscene setting no longer playing scenes at 24 frames per second by default – "though the option is still available," as Game Freak says.

On top of this, the pesky "interact" button is remappable now, there are "various balance adjustments to bosses across all difficulty levels," and all sorts of bug fixes to boot. It's hefty enough for a patch, and there's more to come.

"Multiple additional patches are planned, and various fixes and adjustments will continue to be made in response to ongoing player feedback," the dev concludes, pointing to requests like "implementation of DLSS 4/4.5 (L/M) and FSR4."

It's good to hear, especially considering said "player feedback" so far. Over on Steam, folks are still dubbing Beast of Reincarnation "bad and laughable," pointing to its camera, gameplay, story, and more.

Here's hoping v1.0.7 and beyond see Beast of Reincarnation make a comeback as the game we hoped to see from Game Freak – there's still hope yet, and it's evident that the dev isn't slowing down work on the action RPG.
