Yesterday, one of the most vibrant (and visually stunning, might I add) indie games of the year released – and now, just one day later, it's proving to be one of the most impressive launches of 2026 yet.

In case you've not heard of Denshattack! (yes, exclamation mark and all), It's a colorful mashup of Tony Hawk and Jet Set Radio vibes. Players take on the role of a… erm, train, riding through a dystopian Japanese cityscape. The gameplay is fast, fierce, and refreshing, giving folks almost no time to take a breath between rails – in the best way possible.

Developers have evidently caught wind of their new release's rapid success now, too, with one amusingly commenting in the review thread. "HI DEV HERE WHAT THE ***** IS HAPPENING," their reply reads, with a cute little ":D" at the end. It's wholesome, and fans' responses are even more so.

"You made an awesome game," exclaims one player. "Buying it cuz it looks great, and as a bonus, my 3-year-old will love watching it."

Others echo this sentiment, with somebody loudly typing, "YOU'VE MADE A PIECE OF ARCADE ART, MY FRIEND!" That they have, anon. That they have.
