is the third and final game in Square Enix's ambitious remake trilogy, but it might not be the true end of the saga. New listings on the Epic Games Store database suggest multiple DLCs are planned for the upcoming game.

Those listings include the pre-order bonuses and Premium Edition goodies you'd expect, plus nine DLCs and an entire "Story Expansion Pass," according to third-party tool

Square Enix has yet to officially share anything about Final Fantasy 7 Revelation's DLC plans, so take these sightings with a fist full of salt. All of these listings could be placeholders, they could simply be item packs or cosmetics, they could be subject to change, or they could be complete bogus.

that weren't supposed to see the light of day two years ago, Epic Games said it "released an update so third-party tools can't surface any new unpublished product titles." That update would theoretically make these listings impossible to view, so make of that what you will.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake series director Naoki Hamaguchi has hinted at the possibility of post-launch content before, for what it's worth. As long as fans want it loudly enough, he's said that

Square Enix has already set a precedent for such a thing, too. Final Fantasy 7 Remake, the first game in the kind of remade trilogy, enjoyed an Intergrade DLC that focused exclusively on loveable ninja Yuffie for a few hours. Perhaps Final Fantasy 7 Revelation could welcome its own Intergrade-sized expansions in the months or years following its own launch next year.

The Final Fantasy 7 universe certainly doesn't stop at the base game - spin-offs such as Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus continued to milk that cow, and fans have come around to those projects in the years since, as well.

"This Final Fantasy 7 Remake series is not simply a recreation of the original work, but rather, our goal is to create a single, new Final Fantasy 7 that incorporates the settings and concepts of all the previous spin-off titles such as Advent Children, Dirge of Cerberus, and Crisis Core,"

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is due out next year on PC, Xbox, PS5, and Switch 2.
