[STEAM] Capcom refuses to back down from the not-GTA 6 games rush, re-commits to Onimusha: Way of the Sword's September release date despite rumors

would launch in November 2026, seemingly every big game within a two-month orbit of that date began scrambling for a plan: release during the same general timeframe and risk being swallowed by the biggest game of the century, or get the heck out of the way. As you might expect, many developers and publishers chose the latter option, and coincidentally, September turned out to be a very popular alternative release month, apparently far enough away from GTA 6's tidal wake for them to feel comfortable launching their games.

Capcom was one of many companies who chose a September launch, earlier this month confirming at long last that

. However, that date was thrown into question just last week when a retailer listing seemed to suggest

. The reasonable assumption was that so many games moved to late September due to a fear of GTA 6 that they inadvertently created a similarly challenging environment for themselves due to there now being such a crowded market for that specific window.
