[STEAM] GTA 6 will cost $80, ‘plays best on PS5,’ and some content is locked behind $100 Ultimate Edition

The Grand Theft Auto 6 marketing blitz has officially begun.

Rockstar Games confirmed tonight that GTA 6 will be available for pre-order starting at midnight local time, and players will choose between two editions: the $80 standard version, and the $100 Ultimate Edition.

Interestingly, the Ultimate Edition will be home to “an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and action around every corner.” These bonuses “are threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia’s story, with new items uncovered behind each chapter.”

Ultimate Edition bonuses include certain car models, weapons, weapon variants, outfits, tattoos, and other customization items. But some of these items are found in specific stores found throughout Vice City, and these will only be “open for business with the Ultimate Edition.”

The Vintage Vice City Pack is the game’s main pre-order bonus, offering 80s-themed clothing, vehicles, hairstyles, and Tommy Vercetti-style weapons. Sony also revealed the contents of its “close partnership” with Rockstar, saying that GTA 6 “plays best on PS5” thanks to the DualSense controller and Tempest 3D AudioTech.
