A famous video game voice actor has a warning for all those “douchebags” who wish to weaponize the law: “don’t drop the soap in the shower.”

Ned Luke, known best as Michael De Santa in Grand Theft Auto 5, has been the target of several “swatting” incidents over the past few years. It’s been going on since at least 2023, but for now, some justice has been served.

Don't drop the soap in the shower douchebag…Won't be swatting anyone anytime soon…and they're coming for the ones he ratted out as well.

Luke shared a picture of a letter he received from the US Department of Justice today, which states that the perpetrator of at least one incident has been sentenced to four years of incarceration and a release under supervision for three years.

“Don’t drop the soap in the shower douchebag,” Luke said on social media. “Won’t be swatting anyone anytime soon…and they’re coming for the ones he ratted out as well.”

It’s taken multiple years, but thankfully and hopefully, this should serve as a warning for those who wish to “swat” others that it comes with a hefty price that should deter someone who wants to do something similar to anybody else. The letter states that the defendant made a plea deal and gave up their right to an appeal, so they will likely be behind bars until 2030. No GTA 6 for them.

“Swatting” is the act of making a prank phone call or message to force law enforcement to respond to someone’s house. It first began in November 2023 for Luke, who was “swatted” during a live stream and had armed law enforcement enter his house.

These hoaxes are obviously quite dangerous, as many of the prank calls tell local police that they are in the house and intend to harm themself or others, forcing law enforcement to act. One incident in 2017 turned deadly when police shot and killed a man who was falsely targeted after an online gaming argument.
