who says that PlayStation boss Hermen Hulst revealed to staff today that the company will keep singleplayer PS5 games on the console and no longer bring them to PC. Online multiplayer games such as Marathon, MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, and the like will remain multiplatform.

Image via Naughty Dog PlayStation has been bringing a wide array of its first-party games to PC over the past several years, including the Marvel's Spider-Man games, The Last of Us series, and Ghost of Tsushima on digital storefronts like Steam. That strategy is now apparently changing, so Ghost of Yotei and recently-released SAROS won't be coming to PC after all.

The reasoning for the change was not immediately available, according to Schreier, but he opined that it likely has to do with weak sales on PC. Most of the PS5 games that came to PC did so after a ******* of console exclusivity, perhaps dampering interest.

For many years, PlayStation console sales have been buoyed by not only hugely popular multiplayer games like Call of Duty, but also a line of well-made singleplayer titles such as the Uncharted series, God of War, Ratchet and Clank, ******'s Souls, Bloodborne, Horizon, and recently titles like Astro Bot. Many PC-centric gamers may have waited for titles to launch on Steam in recent years, but apparently not enough of them for Sony to keep bringing games to the platform.

I think having more games on more platforms is a great thing, but I can see where Sony is coming from. For example, XBOX games being readily available on PC in this generation has made it so I and many others didn't need the console to play many titles since I have a gaming PC. Now, there won't be a choice for upcoming games like Marvel's Wolverine in September.
