GTA 6 is nearly here—at least when considering the time we've all spent waiting for it—but that's apparently not enough, and fans have once again taken it too far by harassing people who don't even have anything to do with the game's development.

Famous video game developer interviewer Reece “Kiwi Talkz” Reilly has just taken to

with an alarming request. In a shockingly long post, he asks people to stop spamming him about GTA 6, before describing the abuse fans are also subjecting his wife to, a person who not only has no connection to GTA, but is also recovering from a serious surgery.

Spamming a person who's in poor health isn't smart Internet sleuthing; it's just criminally irresponsible. And that's not even the only instance of GTA 6 fan abuse from the past few days.

We're getting to a point where it becomes difficult to defend games where we indulge in great acts of evil to claim that they don't actually inspire or embolden those of us who don't care about others in real life. GTA is a great series because it provides an excellent power fantasy, not because it should inform the way you live your life. Come on, let's not give weirdo anti-violence in games crusaders like Jack Thompson a reason to feel vindicated.

GTA 6 is set to release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19 of this year. That's not very far away. If you really need to get all updates as soon as they come out, then be cool and check out the
