How to unlock fishing in Diablo 4

The Lord of Hatred DLC has a new story, and you'll travel to Skovos as part of it. You can unlock fishing at a location south of Philios. The unlock part happens relatively early, and there's no way for you to miss it since fishing is introduced as a main quest.

When you reach the quest location by following the marker, you'll come across a fisherman named Shi Yugong. He will complain about the noise you're making and ask you to catch a fish. You'll immediately catch a fish, which will infuriate him further.

Image via Blizzard There are over 100 different types of fish to catch. Catching all of them will help you complete the Adept Angler achievement. If you're a completionist, there's one grindy achievement to complete. That said, the developers did tease us about secrets being hidden in the depths under the water. For the time being, you can trade the fish with the NPC. Moreover, fishing can also pull in rare items, including Legendaries and Uniques.
