As mentioned previously, the Steam Controller (2026) is a new version of the previous model from 2015. The controller features a Xbox-like design similar. You’ll find the typical face buttons, D-Pad, Steam Button, Grip buttons, Quick Access Menu, along with symmetrical magnetic thumbsticks utilizing TMR technology.

Steam Controller (2026) Situated just beneath the thumbsticks are dual trackpads (a la Steam Deck), and the controller also has HD rumble and grip-enabled gyro that Valve calls Grip Sense. The controller also has infrared LEDs that make it easily trackable by the upcoming Steam Frame’s cameras.

The controller connects wirelessly using the included Steam Controller Puck that has both a wireless transmitter and a charging station with pogo pins. You’ll also find Bluetooth or wired via USB.
