It was reported that if funding isn't secured by May, the project will most likely be cancelled, and as we close in on the fifth month of this year, it seems Nagoshi failed to secure a new deal to continue making the game.

It should be noted that NetEase also asked Nagoshi not only to secure new backing but also to get enough money to buy the game and its assets from the publisher, essentially requiring an incredible amount of money for the game to be allowed to continue its production. It's thus unsurprising if Nagoshi failed in his mission, though no official comments have been issued from either Nagoshi Studio or NetEase.

Gang of Dragon was meant to be a spiritual successor to Toshihiro Nagoshi's Yakuza series and was set to star Korean star Don Lee.
