One of the best ways to spend some leisure time in Windrose is to catch some fish, and to do so, you'll need to use your fishing rod. Catching fish isn't just a gimmick since they're part of some extremely useful recipes.

How to get a Fishing Rod in Windrose

To get some fish, you'll need the Simple Fishing Rod. This item can be crafted using its recipe and the required materials. You'll need the following items.

• Five Hardwood: Can be obtained from Foothills
• Three Rope: Can be crafted quite easily.
• Two Foothills Iron Ingots: Can be smelted in a Furnace.

You'll also need a level 2 Workbench to craft the item. Once done, you can start fishing by equipping it from your toolbar.

Screenshot by Destructoid Fishing in Windrose is pretty simple. Reach a water body, and cast your line. The bobber will bob in the water, and you need to look out for a splash. The splash means that it's time to reel in the line and catch the fish that has taken the bait. Once it reaches you, voila! You have caught your fish.

All fish and recipes in Windrose

As of writing, Windrose has ten different species of fish. The common ones can be found in any body of water. But the rare and epic ones can only be caught from deep waters.

Once you catch a fish, you need to turn it into Fish Fillets. Right-click the fish from your inventory, and process the meat into Fillets. The ******* the fish, the greater the number of these fillets. Here's a list of all recipes that require at least one Fish Fillet to be prepared.

• Chowder: Three Fish Fillet, Three Sweet Potatoes, Two Salt
• Fish and Tostones: Three Fish Fillet, Three Bananas, Two Nuts
• Seafood Skewer: One Fish Fillet, One Crab Meat
• Seafood Platter: Seven Fish Fillet, Four Lime, Three Crab Meat, Four Salt

All these food items have their own in-game effects, and they will boost specific stats temporarily. Additionally, catching all 10 types of fish will also get you the Fisherman's Ring, which adds an extra 15% chance to get an extra fish when reeling in your catch. With upgrades, this boost can be increased to 30%.
