A new Battlefield 6 update is on the horizon, and it looks to be introducing some significant changes to the game, but some fans in the community aren't happy with what EA has planned.

is planned for Tuesday, April 14, and its patch notes are quite extensive.

• New Content Arrives: Operation Augur arrives alongside the LTV, the Ripper 14”, and a new Battle Pass Bonus Path.
• Progression Feels More Rewarding: Weapon XP and Vehicle XP are now earned through active use alongside kills and assists, XP rates have been increased slightly across Multiplayer, and Battle Royale and Gauntlet progression now places more weight on time spent in a match.
• Weapons and Gadgets Receive a Broad Polish Pass: Defibrillators and the AJ-03 COAG Med Pen have been updated, while attachments, animations, unlock presentation, and challenge tracking have all seen further improvements.

The new LTV vehicle in Battlefield 6. Image via EA You now earn weapon and vehicle XP for just using specific items. Previously, a large chunk of the XP you gained was purely through kills and assists. This made the time spent searching for enemies in a match, repairing vehicles, or helping out teammates essentially worthless in terms of gaining XP. Now, you'll earn more XP just by having a weapon equipped or driving a vehicle during a match.

As for Defibrillators, the developers outlined the current overpowered nature of reviving teammates in Battlefield 6 and felt a change was needed. Now, just like in older Battlefield titles, the Defibrillator has a set amount of uses and must be charged up before you can revive another teammate. The charges also determine the health given to a revived teammate, with teammates being fully healed when the Defibrillator is at 100%.

While these changes do solve a lot of problems with the current state of Battlefield 6, the game has seemingly left a sour taste in many fans' mouths. The primary reactions to the 1.2.3.0 patch notes are mostly negative, with the community calling out the developers for a lack of content since launch.

The 1.2.3.0 update is adding some new content, including the LTV vehicle, the Ripper 14" weapon, and Operation Augur, but fans on social media aren't pleased with what they're receiving.

The time since launch has been full of bugs, unsatisfying content, and updates that are few and far between. While the 1.2.3.0 looks to be a step in the right direction, Battlefield 6 seemingly has a long road ahead to get back in the community's good graces.
