How to gain Proficiency XP in The Division 2

Proficiency XP is different from standard XP that you gain from almost every task that you complete in the game. Proficiency XP is tied to the gear that you're using, and there are three ways to gain levels.

• You can gain XP after completing activities when you're using a non-proficient gear.
• You can use the Tinkering station at your base to donate materials to your non-proficient gear.
• If you donate duplicates of non-proficient gear, you'll also gain XP.

While the event is live, you should aim to use gears that have proficiency XP to gain. The accelerated rate will be highly beneficial. You should also look to complete as many activities as possible, while keeping the difficulty at higher levels. That way, you can amplify the growth rate of your gear.

Screenshot by Destructoid Before you begin, keep free slots in your inventory since they will fill up first. Choose the drops you want as the designated loot, which will be decided by what weapon you want to level up. If you want to level up a shotgun, your designated loot should be shotguns.

Once you've found enough loot, head to your base of operations. Go to the Tinkering station, and choose the "Donate all Junk." That's the most efficient way to maximize this event. Combine it with weapons that you're not fully proficient with, and you'll get plenty of XP.
