Image via Pearl Abyss Doing so will focus an intense beam of light on the thorns and set them on fire. Wait for a few seconds, and the vines will disappear. You'll unlock Blinding Flash pretty early in the game. It's part of an opening puzzle that has to be solved to open a locked door.

If you're not using a sword, you use fire arrows.

• First, you have to find standard wooden arrows, which are relatively easy to find.
• Next, find a source of fire.
• Draw the bow, and touch the arrow's tip with the fire. This will set the arrow ablaze.
• Aim at the thorns to shoot the arrow, and this will clear your path.

I prefer using Blinding Flash, as you might not always have a source of fire readily available while you're out and about.
