Arkane Austin was in the midst of working on a big update for its fumbled vampire shooter, Redfall, complete with the promised new heroes, before its closure. There’s also that concern of the game’s always-online requirement.

This concern could’ve been quenched with an update supposedly planned for May, which would’ve allowed players to play offline, but it seems the team was too slow an this will never come to fruition. Granted, the slow update timeline is pretty on-the-nose for Arkane Austin, which took five months to implement the 60 FPS patch on the Xbox Series X. Meanwhile, it took the studio a month before it debuted its first major patch after the fumbled launch full of bugs, poor AI, and a lack of compelling missions.
