What an absolute mess! What is going on with Helldivers 2? More importantly, what is Sony thinking by sabotaging their most popular PC release to date? It was a neverending hype train, a money-making machine, and yet PlayStation Network will prove to be the downfall of Helldivers 2. Here’s what you must know about why Helldivers 2 is delisted in so many countries.

Following its recent announcement that a PSN account is required to play Helldivers 2, Sony chose to delist the game in countless countries. As of right now, the number of affected countries is over 100, and that number is growing. Residents of the affected countries who purchased Helldivers 2 will be unable to play the game due to the PSN requirements.

Furthermore, anyone who has an eye on Helldivers 2 cannot buy the game on Steam from one of the affected countries. It’s just unavailable.

While Steam is more than likely aware of the current controversy and mess surrounding Helldivers 2, they do have an active refund policy in place. That said, they appear to have temporarily removed restrictions regarding Helldivers 2. If you’re one of the many countries without PSN affected by this whole account-linking mess caused by Sony, then you’ll likely want to create a support ticket with Steam to request a refund for Helldivers 2. Here’s how:

• Open Steam.
• Select “Help” from the top left menu.
• Choose “Steam Support,” and then “Games, Software, etc.” or “Purchases.”
• Locate Helldivers 2, then select “It’s not what I expected.”
• You’ll then receive two options, and you want “I’d like to request a refund.”

Tip: Do not leave the reason box blank. Provide Steam Support with a viable reason as to why you should receive a refund for Helldivers 2 after spending tens or hundreds of hours playing the game.

That said, this is not a guaranteed way to receive a refund for the game. It’s entirely up to Valve’s discretion!
