isn't getting a continuation from developer Larian Studios, but taking a look at the game's setting in the larger context of Faerûn shows just how many interesting directions a sequel could have taken. As the central continent of the Forgotten Realms, a Dungeons & Dragons world with years of rich history behind it, Faerûn is a vast and varied expanse that boasts the complexity necessary to support countless adventures. The city of Baldur's Gate and its immediate surroundings make for some of the coolest locations in Faerûn, but they're far from the only to have significant potential.
