Hale School urges parents not to give their son a smartphone in Year 7 and to delay social media access

An elite Perth private boys’ school is urging parents to hold off giving their Year 7 sons a smartphone and to ban them from social media to protect them from online harm.

Hale School headmaster Dean Dell’Oro revealed in a message sent to parents on Monday it would introduce a policy from next year to delay student ownership and use of smartphones “in an effort to protect our younger students”.
