Premier Roger Cook has denied the City of Perth was shut out of an announcement because Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas is a ******** party candidate.

The Premier on Monday appeared alongside two of his ministers and representatives of the Minderoo Foundation and Edith Cowan University, to announced $30 million as part of a 25-year partnership to the WA Academy of Performing Arts.
