Martin Scorsese’s The Departed Releases On 4K Blu-Ray This Month, Steelbook Preorders Discounted

The debate over which Martin Scorsese-directed film is the best–even if the obvious winner is Cape ***** purely for inspiring the best Simpsons episode–but, in all seriousness, The Departed is easily a top contender. Released in 2006, this ****** thriller combined an all-star cast with a gritty story and shocking twists. And now, you can revisit it with this new

  • Guilt and Betrayal: Looking into The Departed

One of Scorsese’s most-revered films, The Departed won the Best Picture prize at the Academy Awards in 2007. To date, its Scorsese’s only film to receive that honor, and it was one of several of his movies to feature longtime collaborator Leonardo DiCaprio.

DiCaprio wasn’t the only household name to appear in The Departed. Jack Nicholson stole scenes as a gang leader under investigation, and Matt Damon played career ********* Collin Sullivan. Other actors in The Departed include Mark Wahlberg, Martin Sheen, Vera Farmiga, and Alec Baldwin.

The Departed, which had a runtime of 151 minutes in an era when movies tended to be shorter, keeps you on the edge of your seat with its suspenseful story. It plays out like a brilliant game of chess between gangsters and cops. Only with more shootouts and hammers to the hand.

A few more notable Blu-ray preorders are also live right now, so in case you missed them on the big screen or want to revisit them, you can add Dune: Part Two, Steven Soderbergh’s Ocean’s trilogy, and the titanic
